Mississippi River faton Rouge Louisiana a story venue and soon the fog will rise off the Big Muddy and will it also bring a victory for the Beloved byou Bengals Tiger Stadium home of LSU and boy do we have a fun one ahead top 10 team Target on their back going on their Road and right into the snake pin as we'll see the number five team in the country the South Carolina Gamecocks take on a squad hoping to prevent another L this week the LSU Tigers for EA Sports college football I'm Rees Davis joined here in the booth by David poock and Jesse Palmer and guys let's get this thing started and the Gamecock will get us underway with the opening kickoff from inside the 10 here he comes he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 so LSU's offense will have the first possession of the game and there he is a man who makes an entire Stadium hold its breath every time he touches the ball Jesse this defense better had a lot of breath in this game too because he gets better as the game goes on he's the kind of guy David who can wear a defense down and he is the primary focus that's what this defense is focused and keyed in on we got to stop him if we're going to have success today he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three well just nothing doing on that last run and they knew coming into this one they were going to be challenged right this is one of the best defenses in all of college football for them to have any shot they're going to have to do a lot better running the football and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there really good offenses are able to attack short you got to be able to attack the whole field to make you honor that underneath part then the intermediate part and then you take shots down the field this will loosen up some shots for later in the [Applause] game with the catch it's good call good execution as they move the chains and they have a first down at the 38 the Tigers come to the line with a fresh set of downs hand off from the shotgun not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven you know runs like this often times or like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one a third and long coming up here from the gun wants to pass a little too much on that one just out of his reach LSU will bring the punt team on the field well they try to throw for it there on third down on the opening drive of the game they don't get it but let's punt the ball away let's trust our defense and guys let's also trust this home field advantage and the crowd to get loud make it real difficult on our so the South Carolina Gamecocks offense will try to get something started with their first possession as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark and he might be known for run fits but that was a sure and heavy tackle on the tight end these guys have really performed at a high level in SEC play and the task is to try to keep this groove going yeah when you start the season like this man this is exactly what you drew up win your conference be great in your conference get to the conference Championship I'm not putting the cart before the horse palmer but great start no doubt to win the SEC is a long road you know about that I know about that personally and they just got to take one game at a time they've done an outstanding job of doing that this year the game are marching down the field well that's kind of the advantage of third and medium right is the defense you keep them guessing you could throw it you can run it that time they hand it off they pick it up yeah and you can see the d drop back over nowhere to go and the ball is loose the defense grabs it and they're going the other way Off to the Races to the right touchdown LSU not content to get the fumble they scored with the fumble play by the defender there he saw the ball on the ground didn't just jump on it was able to scoop it up p a convoy let him for a touchdown and he did get that extra point through the slippery surface no problem he'll bring it out it's Sullivan stopped at the 17 and he's probably second guessing that return and the South Carolina offense is back on the [Applause] field they'll start this drive with an IND out and the defense was ready when the receiver tried the tricky run now on second down sometimes people say if you're good enough what's a big deal about going on the road well if you're not careful you might find out on a spot like this one guys yeah no doubt about it this is a hostile environment and you know you're going to be getting the opponent's aame for this one they've circled this one all off season so they better be ready to bring it today there and the hardest thing to do in college football is to go on the road everything about it oh look out there he goes at the 20 that is exactly what you want to do with the football he's got it all the way down to the 15 yd line huge play puts them in the red zone and now they'll snap it first and 10 from the 15 they're in the red zone and they'll pass it he's got it on the move and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one operating in the Red Zone here on second down second they run the reverse and he'll Glide his way in for the score touchdown South Carolina Carolina what a perfect play call to get the score and you're watching the backside on all your runs making sure that backside they're not cheating not flying to the football the offense saw something caught him in it the defense didn't have an answer the reverse Works to perfection and he splits the uprights on the extra point a very efficient five playay scoring drive and it was capped off with the 8yd Run he'll start the return inside his SP not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 LSU will dive into the Playbook here on offense David the putter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sideline in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the punter out there this offense needs to get back lathered up and get a little bit more of a rhy best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to Kickstart this offense starting this drive like that is exactly what they' hoped for now first and 10 from the 40 and he'll find enough Running Room to get it just short of Midfield at the 49 well it's plays like that that will help this offense stay in Rhythm all game long if you can have that kind of success on first down running the football it just opens up your entire Playbook moving forward leaves it with the running back he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and that play shows you really what this defense is about it's a difficult one to attack they're really good one of the best in the country they come at you from all angles so I I'm interested to watch how do you mix up the play calling how do you keep the defense off balance cuz they are a good looks as if LSU will line up to putt it away well he couldn't find any Running Room at all and he'll end up taking a loss on the play yeah great discipline on defense too cuz if you're going to stop the option you have to play assignment football everybody doing their job there was just nowhere to go there for the CU they go to the end of round to start the drive that'll get him thinking and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one now from the 40 it's first and 10 he wants to throw might be looking to run got a wide open receiver and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one now down to the 12 yd line it's first down the pitch and he's loose and he'll take it to the house touchdown game c speed kills this offense they've got multiple guys that can burn you you can see it doesn't take them long to light up the scoreboard they'll try to add another to their lead and the pat gives him a 14-7 lead quick strike offense on that three-play scoring drive and the scoring play came on the 12yd Run here's the return from inside is 10 nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 the Bayou Bengals will run the offense out onto the field that last Drive won't go on the Highlight Reel after ending in a punt they'd like to be more productive this time the ball pops out it's as if that ball had a magnet going back to the offense how in the world did they keep it didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 pulls and throws off the RPO still running at the 40 nothing but green ahead he's at the 10 touchdown tigers and once he found open space the band might as well start playing well the defense needs to find a way to slow this guy down we're only in the first quarter and already this guy has over 100 yards receiving they have got to find an answer for him after that latest are tied things up just about set to kick it away again fielded In The End Zone it's Bennett lowers those pads and good work by the coverage team to get the Return Man Down On The Ground South Carolina ready to go on the attack in another offensive Odyssey these two defenses have had their head spinning here in the first half and now we might even see a little more scoring with this makes to grab at the 30 touchdown Gamecocks and once he found some daylight it was time to make a house call number 1 and I think in the pre-nap I think both of these guys were on the same page they had a look defensively that let them know we can pitch this thing way down the field I'm going to go run under it and make a big play for yeah and when I'm the receiver I'm like I'm open right I'm I'm going straight down the field throw me the football I got the speed I can beat this guy you can tell they've done that so much in practice they knew it was second nature and they executed it perfectly he'll bring it back from inside his SP and they'll haul down the returner to start us on the next drive and the offense heads out onto the field to get the drive [Applause] started wide receiver shows motion to the ground with the back and you can forget running in the middle against this defense on the play what a great play by the linebacker you talk about filling a hole defensive line does their jobs he comes in the sit down sir throws to the wide out got his he'll get it up to about the 32 yd line before he stopped and it'll be first down and now a fresh set of downs for this offense they'll put the tight end in motion off the play fake on first down wants to throw grabbed in the middle it's Samson they got him free for a big Gainer to the 43 that's a really nice job holding that pass in and you think LSU has just been such a breeding ground in recent years for receivers Jamar Chase Justin Jefferson obj Jarvis Landry they all have the ability to make a play anywhere on the field that's what this guy can do you can line him up anywhere he can run routes all three levels of the secondary the defense has to know where he is lined up every single play after the productive first down play it's second and six give to the back he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three man what a spectacular play by that defensive end to come up with the tackle there and you see those guys get off the football so fast most of these guys are 250 to 275 lb and he strikes his way into the end zone touchdown Tigers oh even up after that one basically a brand new game and with a tie guess what back to the offense back to the off which defense can get a stop offens have been H and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor's in the studio gentlemen it has gone Final in that top 25 matchup we've been keeping a close eye on Clemson was able to finish off a close one in Death Valley today they did just enough both offensively and defensively to Come Away with the dub hey survive and Advance each week in college football the tests are just so tough and we found that out again today guys with another ranked team going down yeah how about that sounds as if they had a good ball game there Kevin thanks for the update now the toss and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short gain and those physical runs take a toll it might not be a big game now but down the road third fourth quarter late in the ball games they tend to turn into bigger runs pulls it in it's Jacobs now they've got even more breathing room out to the one and a fresh set of downs and the Gamecock have it with a first and 10 it's reverse got enough for the first and he's still going off he goes he's at the 10 and he'll Sprint in for the score touchdown South Carolina with [Music] [Music] lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and he finishes the drive with a thrilling 69 yd run to the end zone from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 LSU will dive into the Playbook here on offense that last drive an absolute aerial assault for the touchdown Jesse it was a nice job in play calling too David just giving the quarterback some easy looks and reads so he could go out and and he knew exactly where to go with the football everything looked really really easy he was hot the ball was coming out of his hands the defense better do something [Applause] different the give to the back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well he did everything he could to try to avoid all those Defenders but at the end it's still a negative play tackle for loss one Defender then the next one the blitzing guy got a shot everybody had a shot it took a while to get him down yeah great effort by that defense not quitting play LSU will bring the punt team on the field makes a move that Nifty return sets up the offense and negates some of the yardage on the punt and the South Carolina offense is back on the field oh it's a reverse picks up the first down at the 20 he's got space touchdown Gamecock and once he got away from the D they had no shot at catching it the proverbial rabbit out of the Hat getting out of the Houdini like blocks calling reverse and trickeration and it worked it does and it's frustrating cuz defensively you're thinking run run run and you're playing aggressive and on that backside man you got to stay home you got to be alert you got to do your job when you don't here comes the reverse here comes the touchdown they'll try to add another to their lead and they stay on target with the extra point of 35-21 about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown South Carolina 35 LSU 21 on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Bayou Bengals will run the offense out onto the field last time David it was one two three kick the last drive that three and out sometimes that puts your defense in a bad spot and you got to get a drive together here so you don't wear the defense out I just think daveid too predictable at last Drive they got to do something here to get this defense on the fields and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball after misfiring it's second down football you hear the ter quick but don't hurt and you could tell when you run these rpos the QBs want to make he's into the open down the middle pass the 20 and he'll take it to the house he got loose touchdown tiger and how about that his second receiving touchdown of the ball game find ways to get your athlets the ball they'll do the rest that's number two they better start playing some better Defense number three is coming soon lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive on the run from inside his own five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 South Carolina ready to go on the attack in another offensive Odyssey snagged in the middle it's hunt how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the big hit stick with him too they have set the tone in this one already inside a minute to play in a wild first quarter they'll run the option now the pitch smashes through the tackle give him nice 86 y on the ground and that's just another routine day for this guy who's been among the nation's leaders in rushing all season long Dan is a way to buy time he'll let it go down the right side and how loud is it in this building this is crazy this these fans are going absolutely nuts and I used to love when the fans got involved and I'm on defense because it messes with the snap count it messes with the communication and it can really rattle on offense he's one out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down the Gamecocks are moving quickly down the field I love when QBs break the pocket and still look to attack because as soon as you break the pocket running toward the tap and there they go again with another huge gain on the ground he's finally run out of bounds as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter got some room headed to the goal line and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way touchdown game c this guy just has a nose for the end zone and you love his ability to find creases use his speed in the open field and go score he's been really good for his offense early this year that already his fifth rushing touchdown on the season almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown 42 L 2 here he comes from inside his own five and he's able to pick his way through the traffic nicely for a good return on that one before he's brought down this should be the last play of the [Applause] quarter he'll keep it himself they throw it in reverse as that's the final play here in the first period that's the end of the quarter and South Carolina has the lead fireworks have plenty in this first quarter and these two teams put up some numbers as we look at the stats they can't let it get out of hand as we start the second we'll get [Applause] this with a second down [Applause] play he's going to pass on second down why open downfield open Runway ahead touchdown by you Bengals and once he found open space the band might as well start playing and this receiver is on fire he's got all the skills that you look for and a big time Target that's already his second touchdown of the game about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown and he takes this from inside the five and the coverage team able to make the tackle and the South Carolina offense is back on the field if you like oldfashioned grind it up run over him football that last touchdown Drive was for you Jesse that was impressive man great blocking up front and tough physical running by these ball carriers they and now you wonder how the defense responds like are they going to get way more aggressive just try to stop the run I got to do something to break the rhythm of that running game wants to throw on first down got him in it's Jacobs brought down at the 45 after a 15yd pickup now a first down from the 45 yd [Applause] line he's going to pass fires to the wide out he's got an open man he's Off to the Races and he ran away from the defense to take it in touchdown South Carolina look it's still early but we have some real distance being put on the scoreboard right now you do it's early but you got to find something positive right now everything going in the other direction so how are you going to respond when you've been hit in the mouth early in this football game got to find something positive quick [Applause] lining up for the Pat and the extra point pushes the lead to 14 let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Conor Kevin what do you got week in and week out guys you never know what's going to happen in college football check this out Minnesota is currently trailing in this one but I've seen crazier things in Minneapolis trust me when I tell you that on this field and off the this game is not over they're trailing by 12 to Purdue we'll Circle back if anything big happens you should know about oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us he can't hang on and he'll tell you he really should have made that catch and he had an opportunity right in the middle it'll be second down [Applause] oh it's on the ground by Fall defense coming up with a huge fumble recovery touchdown gamec the defense takes matters into their own hands no midseason concentration laps here in week seven as they push out that lead and the extra point is true and the lead balloons to 21 the kickoff team just about set to go and that defense is to get back out there after the scoop and score he'll start the return inside as five good job by the coverage unit to put a stop to that return LSU will dive into the Playbook here on offense trailing by three touchdowns if you're going to get back in it David the time to start is right now got to start now defense giving up points on that last possession again the offense is going to have to score and Jesse probably scor pretty quickly yeah you got to go Tempo you're going to have to try to fit in as many plays as you can throughout the rest of this game but I think more than that you got to eliminate the negative plays no more penalties and no more turnovers you make up the game plan and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 looking down field and he needs a bunch got him down field it's a game of first downs and they've got one after of their own 37 and the Tigers come to the line with a new set of downs and after that pitch and catch he's already over 100 yards and we're in the first half Jesse man Reese he's dialed in right now he's really doing a nice job seeing the field reading coverages and finding his open guy the tigers are on the move just about any LSU offense will make you hold your breath when they play pitch and catch yeah just such Elite Playmakers usually just such speed and listen when your defense speed kills in LSU no matter who plays quarterback they always got dudes that can fly out wide that absolutely scare quickly out to the tight end a nice job by the defense they're tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do and the defense finally makes the stop after the sweet run and good gain offense has it at the 28 on first down [Applause] he's looking to throw it it's complete into to the end zone touchdown LS how about the day for this young three receiving touchdowns hey defense that guy's good we might want to do something about it let's send two at him let's send three at him we can't let this guy continue to beat us time and time again South Carolina 56 he'll bring it back from inside by slips through the line he's on the loose can they catch him he'll take it to the house touchdown game cop that dude ought to have a lethal sticker on his helmet anytime he touches it it can be a score he touched it and it was no doubt unbelievable speed and and if you're back deep for a kickoff obviously you got those Wheels but to be able to get through and guess what no Flags you know it's going to count great job by the Special Teams being special they're lining up to kick it Off full of momentum after housing that last kickoff on the move from inside is five he's able to work his way across the 25 to the 26 before going out of bounds the Bayou Bengals will run the offense out onto the field they're down by 21 points but you got a touchdown here and you do at least apply a little game pressure and that ball is picked off oh he was hoping to make something out of that return but they'll have it first down at the 39 first down for this offense first play of the drive it's the end of round and he won't quite get there but boy after that pick up just a few inches to go for the first an array of possibilities here goes to the option he'll pitch it and that would be the definition of first down success putting yourself in a good position it's second and inches I can do whatever I want next I can take a shot down the field I can run the football and get a new set of downs like nice first down execution fires to the big fella and he laid the lumber to stop him from getting the first down right on target with that last pass now it's second and medium dropping back it's sers quarterback needs to make a better throw there incomplete man it's nice to have a quarterback that can do this last week was unbelievable this week even better this dude is absolutely on fire in the zone feeling it using the whole field doing whatever he wants when he wants how he wants down to the 12 yd line it's first down and listen the defense knew coming into this one they were going to Target him early and often he is a weapon and there's no mystery where the quarterback's going to be looking on critical down in distances let's see how they're able to cover him throughout the rest of this game it good throwing catch takes it down to the five as the offense tries to cash in tight quarters deep in the Red Zone but they can pick up a first down without scoring third down they keep attacking through the air and he runs it in for the score touchdown South Carolina Carolina what a one for this playmaker to just elude the defense and get him for the score and I tell you what defensively you can't this guy get on the edges you cannot give up contain when your defensive ends you got to stay outside you got to make sure you know this guy's going to scramble and try to make plays and you got to make sure you keep him in the pocket about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown on the run from inside his own five LSU will dive into the Playbook here on offense well the good news about this drive Jesse it can't go worse than last time through a pick on the first play no it certainly can't I think one good way David to help your and he's running in the open and that was a huge run that almost went to the house the defense kept him from scoring that last big play has them in position to threaten here first and 10 from the 37 right back to the well got the first down and more and he'll finish the run in the end zone touchdown LSU an impressive run from the back gets him six points good drink of water and maybe a little oxygen he definitely needs some oxygen after that long run but it looks simple right just handing the ball off but when you can make big plays like this in the Run game man does it make offense fun not nearly as much as he' hoped when brought it out at the end zone he'll be stopped at the 15 South Carolina ready to go on the attack in another offensive Odyssey looking to go up top on first down trying to make magic on the scramble at the 35 he's got room he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down big chump play to start this drive now they'll really try to take it to this defense b a little time lets it Go fires to the big fella and that is good versatility there and a big hit from the backer in pass coverage offense gets set for second down keeps it going but he can't get away again and down he goes and the trickeration is not so tricky they've got a good chunk of ground to cover on Third and long from the 41 finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down and the Gamecocks have this offense rolling they'll run the option quick toss got the first down looking for more and he's wrestled out of bounds after a nice pick up man sometimes it just gets frustrating and you've just been beat down all day this defense hasn't had answers but now you can't let him run the football and just run it down your throat and be physical this defense has to do something different and find a way to make something happen and he unleashed the RPMs on that pass man this sophomore has an arm on the move it's sellers got rid of it just in time he just threw it away the last thing you want to do is try to force something on first down in the Red Zone well the defense is fast if you can hit that quarterback with his speed and force those incompletions man that is impressive he just tossed that one out of B you avoid the sack you avoid the turnover you've got more plays here on third down boy they' love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and goal and they're barely able to stop the score they'll mark it at the one man those hurt for a defense cuz you got him in third and long right where you wanted you're thinking pass pass pass they sneak the run in there now they got a fourth and short situation and he'll find The End Zone touchdown game CS South Carolina wow this offense they have a lot of faith in this running back knowing if they get down into this area of the field he can get it done and he can answer the Bell two rushing touchdowns already for this offense lining up to tack one more onto that lead the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead and let's check in with Kevin Conor in the studio Kevin Dynamite match up this week fellas let's show you what's going down Washington is currently ahead in this one inside a jam-packed Husky Stadium but the purple and gold have struggle to really pull away they're up by seven over Southern Miss we've got our eye on things here and everything else going on right now and any updates you'll see him here guys and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere and good coverage by the defense just a short game let's see what they've got on second down while he was putting up big numbers coming into this one we knew the quarterback was going to go his way early and often with that last catch he's now got over 500 yards receiving on the year and there's so much for a quarterback to think about stick it out in the belly do I pull it now when I pull it oh I got to get my feet set make an accurate throw to the right guy so a lot of things going on and I think that you saw that led to a little bit of inaccuracy a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down the Tigers come to the line with a fresh set of downs defense backing up trying to keep everything in front the option look a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior you know I really like this QB running your football because I know he's got a lot of speed he's not the biggest guy in the world so he's not going to be able to break a lot of tackles you really got to do a good job of trying to scheme ways to get him out in more space you want to make sure to maximize those types of runs and he gets it out to the 41 they've got it at the 41 third and short trying to keep the chains moving they'll try to pick up the first through the air short throw to the sideline picks up just a little he's run out of bounds but he's got enough to move the sticks the offense getting set for a first down from the 45p it unlock they'll try the Run everybody talks about DBS they talk about dropping coverage and not being physical that DB begs to differ great tackle coming up playing physical like a linebacker all kinds of room to throw that one in there big play for this offense as they get it to the 32 this offense is like running a Perfection drill and practice against air chunk play after chunk play and here they come again off the play fake on first down got it and he just kept running and he ran away from the crowd and he'll take it in touchdown tigers that is what we call in the industry a defensive breakdown that guy was loose for the big play busted coverage uh really really bad execution somebody slips somebody Falls nothing about that defensively is something you're looking for but the offense will taking him and get the easy touchdown first down here with time for maybe one more play until the twoin warning they'll start this drive with a pass quarterback strolling away from heat it'll be incomplete tried to extend the play but just couldn't find anybody open and now on second down for this offense he rifles one deep down the right side it's complete a huge pickup and he's into the end zone touchdown game cop lot you see those receivers as soon as they get by the DBS you know that hand goes straight up in the air I got him I got to step on him he got a step on him and the ball was thrown perfectly out in front you can see he runs underneath it gets it and gets the long touchdown on the go route finding up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 the Bayou Bengals will run run the offense out onto the field boy they've been caught in a buzz saw here in the first half but maybe a chance to carry some momentum into the break here it all comes down to this drive right here ree obviously this offense hasn't had everything go right for them in the first half but here's an opportunity David to execute some plays put some throws together and generate some points and you're right Jesse and this offense needs to start now like we got to get some points on the board create some momentum and continue it cuz you've dug yourself a and there was no nowhere to go for this quarterback and down he goes there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer wants to throw on second down good timing on the quick out and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play Ball's at the 29 defense can taste getting off the field it's third and long he'll pull it on the read nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry looks as if LSU will line up to putt it away they're trying to go option and they're trying to put that defensive end in the bind but he's just way too athletic and he guessed right and now the hit knocks it Loose oh the offense Willer absolute Disaster by Falling on that fumble and the South Carolina offense is back on the field they'll throw it on first down just gets rid of the football nobody to throw it to it'll be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they'd throw it again to the air it's sers and he's all bottled up and now it's worse the ball's loose oh looks as if the defense got it and the quarterback just couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger and get rid of the ball and they knock it free so let's give the secondary tons of credit right Rees they were doing an outstanding job in the back end in coverage not any receivers open and that's why the QB had to keep holding it and keep holding it that allowed the pass rush to get to him and that created the turnover he wants to throw here on second down nowhere close on that one as he got thrilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down from the gun wants to pass grabbed over the middle it's Taylor there's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half LSU getting set on First and 10 this defense will try to keep everything in front fires toward the end zone and they needed a little more room to work with as that when sails out of bounds running out of time here in the first half they're going to have to be efficient to put some points on the board before the break on second down they'll take to the air passes incomp complet the clock is down to nine and it's third down but they're going to go ahead and try the field goal and try to get points before the break we've got a timeout in the waning seconds of the half maybe a chance to get off a couple more plays and they decide to tr out the kicker this is not a straight on Kick a 42 y from the right hatch and it's right down the boulevar so they get the late field goal right before the half and not much time after this kickoff for answer from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at down play and bringing up second and three up on the option now the pitch he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs and David how demoralizing does it have to be for a defense when you know they're going to run it everyone unleashes one deep touchdown South Carolina and The Stomping has commenced you know sometimes as a play caller you just don't have to overthink things I've got a guy who's faster than your guys and he's just going to run straight down the field I'm going to throw it way down down the field he's going to make the catch and we're going to score a touchdown and that's pretty much what just happened [Applause] there they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point will tack back on the [Music] field looking to throw it's sers still looking on the Move touchdown Gamecock and the beat down has it soon the offense did exactly what it needed to do getting the ball in field position like that it's that killer mentality you step on their throat you keep your foot down when you get opportunities like that they are golden chances to put touchdowns on the board the offense took care of business and the point after is good almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown he Dar return inside his five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 the offense lining up for a first down [Applause] play he'll do it himself able to scr three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven went to the running game on first down now here they come again second down he'll let it fly a strike downfield and they'll do more than move the chains they'll move that thing more than 30 ydd down the field before he's finally stopped get a big play like that last one you flip the field you change the momentum now it's first and 10 from the 38 and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up that's a really good job by the defense wrapping him up getting him on the ground take away that Run game make them onedimensional put him in passing situations really good job by the defense and the quarterback will be slung down back at the 43 now facing a third and long when it's a playaction pass that quarterback he really has to sell the Fate he can't tell his offensive lineman's getting beat right away while he's and he feels the heat coming and it burns him up another sack LSU will bring the punt team on the field and it's been a long long day I mean there's not much to point out that this offense has done well they're behind huge and they got no shot if they can't somehow find a way to protect their pointner South Carolina ready to go on the attack in another offensive Odyssey they use the end round first play of the drive that'll get the eyes moving he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and you got to love this if you're the defensive coordinator because your defense stay disciplin they didn't over pursuit of the running back they stayed home played great with their eyes and they were able to make a tackle and it's in complete after taking a shot on second down they're staring at third they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air fires to the tight end and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop you want to talk about a aggressive or nuts this offense is staying on the field inside their own 30 at the 35 he's loose an excellent Vision to find Running Room there and make a really good pick up before the defense put a stop to it the the Gamecocks with the first and 10 looking to move it through the air still moving to his right trying to make a big play able to get just a few before sliding to avoid the hits they'll line up for a second down play Hey listen it's important at that position to be able to be good off schedule everything's easy when it's on time you get the ball out when things break down they get off schedule you've got to have a guy back there that can make the right decisions he did exactly that went up top on second down that leaves him needing a yard here on third down just what they were looking for and he's got him set up in business at the 35 with a first down and the Gamecock look to keep this drive humming caught near the sideline it's Jacobs and he'll run across the sidelines after the good gain F getting set on second down quarterback checking off on second down just keeps firing that pass is incomplete and they might be fortunate it wasn't knock free for a fumble it'll be third down well on offense no doubt right you've had success you're throwing some tutes why not keep throwing it they're going to keep being aggressive they going to have to do a better job though keeping this quarterback standing up he's moving out of the pocket on the move he fires and they took a shot on that one but couldn't make the connection it's incomplete got to give the defense credit on that play taking everything away forcing the incompletion now it's decision time fourth and short in your in field goal range what do you do here he'll try to throw and pick up the first down he's going to take off he steps out of bounds but it will be enough for a first down defense has to be frustrated the offense keeps matriculating and matriculating and matriculating the ball down the field finds his man it's hunt really good concept there to get things going and use the tight end early yeah I mean just such a great job on first down setting up an easier second down understanding I don't always have to push the ball down the field but see the tight end make the throw no it's not a big game it makes life really easy on me on second down here on third down pocket starts to collapse that pass not close as he got drilled trying to deliver it and it'll bring up fourth down no sign of the punt team as they will go for it and try to move those chains he'll ride his man on the option he'll toss it he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down so so close to cashing it in for this offense got out of trouble and throws quick strike complete touchdown Gamecock and the punishment has been extended he has been surgical Precision passes using the sca the fine instrument rather than the bunt one and the defense has had absolutely no answer for it just he's been down their throats all game long a step ahead understanding what he's seeing and just destroying this defense he'll bring it back from inside his SP didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 LSU will dive into the Playbook here on offense they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to pun it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt too don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here the lone backs got it and he's still running after the move you want to make sure to maximize those types of runs and he gets it out to the 41 solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six now the play fake got his Man Down field his defense giving up ground as he's finally knocked down at the 26 this is an explosive attack in that last big play has them set up first and 10 from the 26 makes the grab it's Turner and that's the looking man coverage you can throw the hitch route against right when the re receiver's got a little bit of access he's got some room to work with against press you're risking a pick six so good decision there by the que knowing that was a good look to throw in he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three from here it would just be a 30yd field goal try let's see how aggressive they're going to be to try to pick up that first down a quick completion to the left FL for the first down and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down now on fourth down they'll settle for a field goal try between the uprights it's good and they'll put three on the board but the deficit remains [Applause] huge coming out with it it's Sullivan pulled down at the 18 and the decision to bring it out of the end zone was not a good one and the South Carolina offense is back on the field how about the way they attack back the last time they had the ball mixing run and pass and winding up in the end zone Jesse that's why recruiting is so important they've got weapons at every skill position on the field any of these guys is dangerous if they touch the football let's see what they do on this drive David and so pler I got to take away something I can't let them have everything and have success I got to be aggressive against the run or play for the pass I can't give them everything budge formation for these receivers it's a reverse at the 35 he's open all kinds of Running Room the 20 he's at the 10 touchdown South Carolina and the puming has started South Carolina well this offense has been physical they came out in this game with a lot of Pride and the ability up front and the belief that they can block people and get it done they are dominating this defense three rushing touch Nows now in the game for a quick update let's go to the type of performance we're just not used to seeing in Minneapolis they're trailing by 23 to Purdue we've got our eye on this one and everything else going on throughout the day guys oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys guys will be keeping an eye on it for us and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one lost one on that last one it's second and 11 nice job playing a signment football by that defensive end knowing what my job is not letting that quarterback get out get loose making a good play most importantly being downfield and they get him out of bounds after an explosive run just chewing up yardage along the way after that huge play they've now got it inside the 30 it's first and 10 the throw to the outside is complete and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pick up the Gamecock are in the red zone They just can't seem to cover this guy he keeps getting open even when he's running out of space on the sideline touchdown gamec and the route is on that touchdown grabbed the 25th of his career not surprising either when you've got this guy's ability that position quarterbacks are going to be looking for you 25 touchdown catches that's an impressive fit yeah he's definitely one of those guys that have been so big time Big Time moments clutch plays you know makes those contested catches he's a guy that can do everything and that's why he's putting up such great stats didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the Val Bengals will run the offense out onto the [Applause] field on the run it's Jackson able to pick up a couple before he's dragged down at the 19 after picking up a couple at second and eight hand off from the gun tried to move that pile forward he maybe gets two he's down at the 21 now on third down for this offense from the gun wants to pass got it in the middle it's Turner and the catch was one thing and the Run even better a big pick up on that one LSU with the first and 10 here well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback in dire after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven they go to the ground and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play they'll come to the line at the 42 facing a third and long from the gun wants to pass got it in the middle it's Hilton and he was on his way gets it all the way to the 38 as they get set to snap it time winding down here in the quarter trying to find his man on first down that's reeled in it's Samson defense makes the tackle and that will probably be the final play of the third quarter [Applause] that's the end of the quarter and South Carolina has the lead and as we switch ends of the field let's take a quick look at the national [Music] rankings so will the beat down continue or they'll start the quarter offense about to snap it on second Down Easy Corners are going to bail he's got an open man and he'll take it in they couldn't get him on the ground touchdown tiger once the game reaches this point you start thinking ahead and how you can find something positive to take into the next game dang right keep the offense rolling try to find some plays that I can use throughout this season that I can have some more success or I guess have sucess I haven't had a lot of success today but I'm looking for the future and The Return Man reaches the end of the line and down he goes the offense set for a first down play he wants to throw got his man quickly finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down new set of downs after that completion and at this point the defense looks as if they've been in one of those dizzy bat races they've got no idea where the ball's coming from he's over 500 yard P yeah this is a Heisman trophy level performance from this guy the accuracy the decision making the athleticism everything has been Undisputed third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off looking downfield It's sers Quickly to the tight end and he's brought down at the 40 yd line and that'll be a first down and the game Cox are on the move he has been the go-to guy on offense all game long on the critical third down here in the fourth quarter surprise surprise guess who they go to that gu now here on second down see if they keep tossing it around he'll just keep slinging it oh so close to paying off the tip Dr he had it in his hands but it falls incomplete some third down conversions tougher than others this one a long and the ball slipped out defense just cradling that fumble and securing it and he's brought down this defense gets the ball back for its own on first down here comes this offense he's going to pass and a nyd gain on first down leaves him with second and short just a quick Rhythm throw there and really good use of the tight end yeah good use of the big fella I mean go through your progressions real quick you can't find anything get the easy game don't take a shot down the field all the time take those shots later but take those easy wide open opportunities now to get some positive chunks went up top on second down that leaves him needing a yard here on third down using the quick game just what this offense was looking for sets him up at the 26 with a first down fresh set of downs after the completion coming out on first down with the play fake into double coverage and it's intercepted and after the interception and the turnover this defense has set it offense up for business a long way to go for this offense to the air on first down going to try to get it himself a really nice run and gain and he gets down to avoid taking punishment they're backed up just a little first and 10 from their own 19 they run the RSE I love the timing on the Jet Sweep there the quarterback snapped it at the perfect moment give it right away to the receiver to get outside get around the defensive end and start getting up field looking to throw it's sers throws to the wide out got him downfield and oh no he loses the ball at the end of the run defense coming up with a huge fumble recovery a first down for the offense you know often times when you're playing in conditions like this and it's raining you'll see a lot of the skill players offensively take off the gloves because they want to be able to feel the football they think it gives them better control of it I don't know if that played into the football going on the ground there but you know that ball security is going to be one of the biggest factors in this game moving forward and this will be incomplete a big hit there for second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again well this guy must feel like he's run into a buz saww in this game he has been under duress all game long and that's a big reason why he's thrown multiple interceptions in the game game too nothing coming easy to him it's hard to see the field when your internal clock is going off so fast because of the pressure of this defense and that's why they find themselves down by so much here in the fourt they are on the move as they pick up the first down they'll spot it at the 28 wow and what a great job by that quarterback finding his open receiver on third down you know guys one of the most telling stats at the end of the game is third down conversion percentage if you're a great third down team it's invaluable to your a success that's why teams drill third down so much in practice from the Red Zone he's going to throw it gets it out quickly touchdown by you ble that is the ultimate grab and go for the score this game is almost certainly decided already but the good news is for the next game guys still flying around still playing hard not really hanging their heads long season this is early in the season still got plenty of time still find out which plays you like which you don't and keep running them keep getting better at so use this as practice and the returner is stop South Carolina ready to go on the attack in another offensive Odyssey he Wast no time and comes out throwing he'll pull it down and run he'll slide and picking up the first getting some heat and here's a fumble way behind the line oh looks as if the defense got it and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for its own short Fields make successful offense is just what they want here he when you're on defense and it's wet and it's rainy you know exactly what time it is and he throws his third pick of the day his head has to be spinning going the other way and he's got Room bust through behind his Pad touchdown game cop the defense puts six on the board with the big time interception return that'll give him a little more breathing room they try to push this winning streak to five let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Connor Kevin what do you got a bit of an under the radar game this week guys but take a look at this Cincinnati is down but not out of it not in nippert stadium one of the best HomeField advantages in all of college footall they're trailing by just four to Iowa State we'll Circle back if anything big happens you should know about it and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere and the physical play there forces the incompletion on first down after the misfire now on second down he's looking to throw gets it out fast ran right through the defender and now he's still running and they get him down at the 43 but this is a kind of explosive play you want to build on that last play is the kind of thing the offense can really build some momentum on and now they've got it first and 10 outside the 40 pressure coming and the Freshman will CH up a sa yeah and they get him again this is a offense that you expect them to protect their guy I mean he is a dude that you you know if you give him time he's going to make plays but this defense is making sure he's not getting that time it's so nice as a quarterback when you've got a guy like that working for you in the slot he has such a good feel to find the Open Spaces in the defense just makes life so much easier for his quarterback he took a hit as he threw it and couldn't deliver the football it's incomplete and fourth Down's cut and the quarterback gets hit again we already know this defense has gotten home to him multiple times in this game so here you are you're trailing in the game defense knows you're going to throw it they're pinning their ears back you can't feel very confident right now if you're the play caller certainly if you're the quarterback that you're going to have time to throw as someone once said from way downtown outside of 60 yard can't make contact with a kicker like that a costly special teams penalty you've got to know your path in front of the kicker offense comes back on the field another interception this guy just can't find his own players and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for its own looking for a productive play on first down wasting no time throwing on this drive B time lets it Go incomplete thanks to the great defensive pressure there that sort of threw them out of rhythm after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down got the first down and still on his feet and he found plenty of Running Room on that one before the defense was finally able to get him down now on First and 10 from the 29 he'll throw it that's caught it's Jacobs and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one second down coming up this guy is doing work on the outside and the sweet toe tap to stay in bounds there how about the sweet feet I mean so hard to know where you're at on the sidelines and have good body control you could tell he did gets the feet down here's the catch that is a nice catch nice footwork young [Music] fellow on Third and long trying to have a big completion here that pass not close as he got drilled trying to deliver it and it'll bring up fourth down and the Gamecock will punt this one away first time today we've seen a punter go to work working his way on the return up to the 40 yd line before he stopped LSU will die dve into the Playbook here on offense that last Drive was promising for a while but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick Jess no you've got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win in David they've got to be able to eliminate the mental St yeah and I don't think you get conservative or play it safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing all kinds of room to throw that one in there down LSU and once he found daylight it was Katie Bar the Door baby the result of this game is going to sting for sure but you've got to continue to build you've got to improve and you can take some positives out of this late hustle and build for next week There's always positives and coaches are always looking for those things that we did well what did we do well so we can do more of it in the future finding some things here late that they did well and they'll get on the ground as the offense comes out to start the next drive and the South Carolina offense is back on the field on the option he'll pitch it discards a man good pick up on the ground and they'll Mark him down at the 39 that kind of pick up on first down and you can take a shot here on second and short he'll toss it they'll finally make the tackle but that option was executed to perfection they say success rate can be picking up about four or so on first down first and 10 gets it past to marker and he goes out of bounds after coming up with positive yardage there the Gamecock have it with a first and 10 now on the option now the toss got room at the 35 he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense this offense absolutely humming as they come to the line again makes him talk to the hand and there were no creases or cres to run through and they shove him out of bounds after the productive first down play it's second and six here comes the option the pitch and the fourth option there is to throw it in reverse and that's what happened on that one quite a bit of work to do on third down from the 23 and this D would love to a field goal try now the toss got enough space and they're going to put another one into the end zone as they just keep piling points on the scoreboard and he's in for his third rushing touchdown College fantasy football players that is what you want to see plus six plus six plus six let's go about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown on the move from inside his five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 the Bayou Bengals will run the offense out onto the field he'll come out throwing on first down catch in the middle it's Samson gets him on the ground at the 31 but a nice pick up of 15 yds there and they'll line up from the 31 on first down he's looking to throw it and that is his fifth interception a nightmare he is not waking up from and he has taken it all the way back touchdown South Carolina they add on another one and they're about to push their record to five and one dude this you didn't think it could any worse right you thought this game's over as it is anyways offense still throwing the football still trying to make plays and the defense just continues to pour it on gets the pick makes it way all the way to the end zone and the returner will be brought down as you will dive into the Playbook here on offense the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David N it was a big mistake uh obviously the defense took advantage of it but you got to put it behind you Jesse I'm sure you know a thing or two about throwing a pick six and and how to rebound I believe I've only thrown one in my life but yes I do because of that singular instance I'll say this you can't let that play Beat you twice you got to go out not try to get it all back here in one play Just execute the offense brought down at the 27 it's a 5yd pickup on the play Here Comes the offense on first down looking to move it through the air and he's thrown another interception didn't get a chance to show off those return skills but he gives his offense the ball at the 29 great spot to start this drive for the offense trying to start the drive with a pass and that one Falls incomplete trying to get a chunk play on that one second and 10 here dropping back it's sers and he was hit just as he was releasing the pass and it falls to the ground incomplete and they don't want to waste this great field position here on Third and long he'll pull it down and it's loose defense just cradling that fumble and securing it and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for it's own first down here for the offense he wants to throw I don't think that's the way they drew it up incomplete ine and this defense has put a game together like it is hard to put all the facets of Defense together run defense pass defense they've been so good man dialed in you could tell they were ready they were fast they were physical they dominated this football game that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble he's got him wide open can anyone catch him he's at the T and he'll take it in for the touchdown it won't have much impact on the outcome of the game but it is a fabulous parting a consolation prize if you will in a lot of losses you just want to burn the tape you don't want to watch it but I think there are some things that they can take into next week from this performance no doubt offense is about finding your Rhythm finding your groove what you do well and you can tell at least now starting to get a little something something going that maybe you can do tackled at the 24 and almost breaks even with the YY would have gotten with a Touchback South Carolina ready to go on the attack in another offensive Odyssey he's going up top oh picked off God room on the return at the 30 and and a big return here as they finally get him down inside the 20 excellent field position here for the offense he'll start this drive firing got a man it's Hilton and he crosses the goal line and gets the touchdown but way too little way too late but they still do count it for six and a nice touchdown continuing to fight continuing to play this one it's pretty much over down multiple possessions this late in the football game it would take a miracle but nice job by this offense continuing to fight push the ball down the field make plays you're not getting him on the ground still on his feet good job by the coverage unit to stop the Return Man offense getting set for first down back to throw it's sers hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and didn't never had a chance and that's a good stop for this defense and listen there hasn't been a lot of positive today but like let's finish this game strong I think that'll be the message from the defensive coordinator to and this sophomore able to wreak some havoc and get the sack this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long just threw that one away to avoid disaster and how about this offense they're not worried about the clock they're not worried about the score they're not worried about early and downs still trying to ex their offense still trying to make big plays and they've had a great day so far the Bayou Bengals will run the offense out onto the field this one has pretty much been a bludgeoning but they'll try to finish with something positive late well they ran into a buz saww today and I don't think it would matter what type of x's and o's they're out there executing da but jimmies and the Joe's they just they're just not as good as the opponent and as an athlete it sometimes hit you in the face and it stinks but you're not good enough and today they were not good enough and I'm going to do the best I can got some room enter to the goal line I'm sorry you're unlikely to win today but here's a fabulous paring game a late touchdown safe to say the offense could have used a few more plays like that earlier in the game too little too late at least you got something going you got some kind of Rhythm the offense put some points up man if they' have started a little bit better they might have had a chance to be a little bit more in this ball game he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 and The Return Man great vision to be able to find some space and put his team in much better field position comes out throwing on first down he's going to run it he's going to be able to pick up a few yards before the slide time out on the field and four ticks left to go and here we go final play of the game right [Applause] here rifles it down the middle and it's Ked off for the third time today bringing it back and with that turnover that'll finish the game when we get to the off season and they start having coaching clinics they're going to roll this game tape back to show both offenses dial it up and let it run I mean that's essentially what we saw in this game it didn't matter what either offensive coordinator was calling everything seemed to work through throwing the football in the intermediate passing game the rpos The Run game David this was just clinical offensive football and offenses have evolved so much they can do so many different things and they know how to use their Playmakers get speed and
