Citadel football brings spring practice to the Midlands

River buff high school, the Citadel taking spring practice on the road, working out this morning, holding an open practice where area fans and supporters of the team could make a short job and watch the Drayton's Bulldogs in action. And then afterwards they had lunch with the team. So quite a fun filled day of football, food and fellowship of the Citadel and its fans and on the field, a little tug of war between the offense and the defense setting the tone for this morning's workout and the pace of practice would crank up the Bulldogs will hold their spring game next Saturday at one o'clock. So they're in the fourth quarter, if you will of spring drills, this trip to the Midlands was a nice deviation from the normal routine of spring practice. We came up with this idea actually because our stadium at the time was booked, there was a wine and cheese festival that got canceled. So before we knew it was canceled, we looked for a venue that was centrally located in the state where we could have a short drive for our alumnus for our recruits and our fan base. Oh, man, it's awesome, you know, being home, I was born and raised in Columbia. So, just a cool experience to get out here makes me feel like I'm in high school again and that is all Diaz former Hammond stand out with a few state titles with the Skyhawks, one of a handful of local players who are happy to make this trip to work out in front of family and friends.
