the Las Vegas Raiders have officially released the very first depth chart of the 2024 NFL season and yes people will say this is The Unofficial depth chart but it's officially put out by the Las Vegas Raiders so it's as official as it gets in my books and there's some interesting names on here that are kind of moved around I don't think people are ready for it but let's just get right into it we're going to start right away with the offensive line and the first wrinkles thrown there right away at the left guard spot so at left tackle you're going to get Colton Miller he is in parenthesis the parenthesis just means he's only the physically unable to perform list at the moment you got Colton Miller you got Cody whiteh here you got Andre James you got Dylan parm and you got the mford now for the most part four of these Five Guys is exactly who you're going to expect to start the one guy in here is Cody white here being listed above Jackson pow Johnson I don't think a lot of people were ready for that I think a lot of people just expected Jackson poers Johnson to be listed as a number one left guard on the dep chart but to keep in mind you know The Season's not officially here yet we we still have three preseason games to go we still have multiple practices we have multiple uh training camp scrimmages you know obviously it is offense versus defense of the Raiders but there's still a lot out there that we have to kind of get through until the actual first week of the season is officially here and Cody white here being behind Jackson Paris Johnson although it's surprising I do think it's the right thing to do at this point you know Paris Johnson hasn't actually practiced at all and the fact that he's also a rookie you know he hasn't actually earned that job it's different if Paris Johnson played the entire year and then in his second year he was being listed as a second guard in fact I think if Jackson Paris Johnson would have been here over the first you know 10 practices or how many other practices it's already been if Paris Johnson was here at that point I'm pretty confident that he would have been ultimately listed as a starting left guard I think by the time P Johnson comes back within three to five practices he'll probably be the starting guard for the Raiders I've been on records saying that I think Cody whiteair is a bad football player and I stick with that if white hair starts for the Raiders our interior offens Line's going to continue to struggle you know we've already heard the reports coming out from a lot of the different uh beat reporters that are at camp that the Raiders interior offensive line struggling Byron young Christian Wilkins Adam Butler these guys are absolutely crushing the interior guys and in my opinion having Jackson Paris Johnson in that left guard would make them a lot better I think it absolutely flips the entire you know script because ultimately you know Dylan PM Andre James and Cody white here are very very similar players all of them are guys that rely more on their technique as opposed to their power Paris Johnson's the opposite he's more so of he can handle power he can handle pass rushes by guys that are stronger that are going to want to kind of toss him to the side white hair James and palm all struggle with powers so I think it'll make our offensive line a lot better and I think we will struggle less with po Johnson ultimately out there but he does happen to be healthy right so uh so that's your first string offensive line andr p is listed as the backup left tackle interestingly uh you got Jordan merid it and Ben Brown listed as the backup center and Right Guard now obviously there's still an entire battle that we have to go through but this does kind of tell you where these guys are at at the moment dalon Wagner is also listed as a third string right tackle at the moment which is not surprising either right we already have heard all the reports of DJ glaze when he stepped in for Max Crosby how he looked really really good in those limited snaps so at this point we can just make the assumption that both DJ glaze and the mford will be the two guys that are going to be competing for that right tackle battle and uh it'll probably be mford that ends up winning cuz again mford has real experience GL does not but we'll see what ends up happening right uh and then I also do want to point one other thing out you know Jaylen McKenzie is a guy to kind of keep an eye on obviously he's not going to start for the Raiders but if C Miller misses any games going into the regular season Jaylen Mackenzie is going to be a very very pivotal part of the Raiders going into you know the first couple of games because if Andre Peak goes down we have to make sure we have a backup left tackle that can step in and I know technically Dar mford can play the swing side he's obviously played left tackle last year in the past but do keep in mind if if uh D mford wins that left the right tackle job you don't want him to have to slide over to left tackle so just kind of keep an eye on Jaylen McKenzie we'll see where he's kind of at Andrew Coker is another guy that's been playing the swing side but he is a rookie so we'll see what he kind of has as we go forward let's talk a little bit about the wide receivers wide receivers is basically exactly how you would expect it to be Devonte Adams jacobe Myers Trey Tucker those are going to be your three guys uh interestingly they do have Christian Wilkerson in the number two slot behind Devonte Hadis now I'm not sure if they just put these wide receivers kind of wherever um especially this early right you don't really know which guy's going to make the roster there's three games left um with with the offensive Lin is a little bit different right because with the offensive linan a lot of the time your backup offensive linemen are younger guys with upside at the wide receiver position that's not always the case at wide receiver you need guys that can play special teams right so a lot of your backup players aren't going to be rookies they're going to be guys that have NFL experience that have already played special teams because generally speaking you know your fourth fifth wide receiver don't play a lot anyways so you want guys with that special teams ability so I don't know how accurate you know this kind of is but it is interesting to note that uh both Wilkerson and kelen Doss are slotted in the number two spots and DJ Turner slotted in the number three spot again probably doesn't mean a whole lot but I did want to just kind of I point that out wide receivers pretty much what we expected and then the Raiders took the approach of listing two tight ends now uh I'll be the first to tell you guys you know teams do this do this differently right there's no set it has to be this way it has to be that way uh sometimes you'll get teams that'll list one tight end and they'll list three wide receivers right including the slot wide receiver sometimes teams will list two wide receivers with two tight ends the Raiders going be running a lot of toll Personnel according to the report so this actually makes a ton of sense uh this is not surprising that the Raiders put both Michael Mayer and Brock bars as a two starting tight ends behind them is going to be Zach Gentry as well as Harrison Bryant and those are probably the four tight ends that are going into the season for the Raiders the other two guys are interesting because both of those guys U they were here for the Raiders over the past couple of Seasons right John Samuel Shanker as well as uh Cole fathering fam both right here for the Raiders last year and it looks like those two guys may be on the outside looking in at this point but I do think the have a very very good tight end room and it's not shocking that we're going to have you know arguably if you go down the list of four guys the Raiders probably have the best four in the NFL both Harrison Bryant and Zack Gentry have started games they have a lot of snaps in the NFL they're experienced and then ahead of them you got the two young guys that we don't really know what their upside could ultimately end up being at quarterback you got Aon Connell and garer MSU essentially being lined up in the number one slot and this is why I always say you know yeah it is The Unofficial depth chart you do got to keep in mind this stuff's approved before it comes out by the coaching staff and the general managers and you know where you place these guys does matter because if they ended up just putting a nano in that first slot and Gardner muu in the second slot you know everybody's going to go crazy and start saying well this quarterback's ahead of this other quarterback even though AP told us that ALC will have you know the first crack at it when it comes to the offseason when it comes to you know kind of going out there and and that actually did happen the first day of pads it was a Col taking the the first team snaps but uh they do have both guys listed essentially in the number one spot and then in the number three spot they got Anthony Brown listed ahead of the rookie Carter Bradley we have been hearing a lot of things about Anthony Brown as well I think he's a great third stream quarterback to have for the Raiders you know if the Raiders find success in their quarterbacks fantastic we'll be able to go forward and we'll have a lot of success but it both aan conell and Garner minu struggle all right we heard today in practice that both quarterbacks had a really really bad practice both guys threw multiple interceptions Jack Jones had two interceptions as well great job by Jack Jones um but we've been hearing that both guys have been struggling especially today and over the past couple days you know both guys have looked good at one point looked bad at another Point um but let's just say both of those guys struggle like would the Raiders go to their third quarterback or would they just go back to the other quarterback right like let's say aonor wins the job he struggles Garner Mitch comes in week five he struggles week eight are they going to go back to aono or would they go to Anthony Brown right I I think Anthony Brown has uh not more upside than either of the two guys but like as a third string quarterback I think Anthony Brown has a lot of upside for being a third stram quarterback right if you look around the NFL and you look at third stram quarterbacks I think Anthony Brown has upside among that group right in across the NFL so we'll see what ends up happening but I think Anthony Brown will probably win that backup jog um the running backs are also kind of as expected I have noticed that the Raiders are putting the rookies a lot further on the back end which is kind of interesting in its own right because even uh raach Keaton is way up here in the final spot and we've been hearing a lot of good things about the Tennessee wide receiver but at the running back position you got zamir white Alexander Madison you got Amir Abdullah and Britain Brown now I don't know if this is actually being read where it's one 2 three 4 and then this is five and six or if it's 1 2 3 four five and six I I think it's the first way right I and I think that's probably the same actually with the wide receivers so I don't know if I said keland Doss is you know ahead of some of these other guys it might not actually be that way so I just wanted to kind of state that um but this is exactly how you would expect I think these are the four guys that are going to be the Raiders running backs on the active roster but I would not be surprised if Amir abdulla actually gets replaced and eventually released I would not be surprised if that happens now I'm not saying it's going to happen but it could happen let's talk about the defense a little bit on the defensive side it's pretty much what you would expect back but I do like the fact that the Raiders in this one at least in my opinion they list it in what we've been kind of hearing when it comes to uh the guys across the board you know John Jenkins hasn't been here that long but John Jenkin is still listed as a starting defensive tackle remember John Jenkins has been out for most of the training camp I think just came back maybe you know Saturday of this past week and uh he was out he did have it approved he was out I think he had a child so he's kind of taking a little bit of time but with John Jenkins he still slotted in a starting defensive tackle and that's kind of just tells you how ap's mindset kind of is when it comes to Veterans versus rookies and you're going to put the veteran up there even if there's a rookie that might start maybe the rookie misses time the way Jackson Paris Johnson kind of has um but across the board this is pretty much what we would expect you got Max Crosby John Jenkins Christian Wilkins Malcolm Coons I will say there there is a possibility that Adam Butler actually plays more snaps than John Jenkins does I just think that the way it's kind of listed out is really you know it's kind of your uh it's kind of the first down defense essentially right who you're going to put out there on the very first snap of the game keep in mind first and 10 you got to defend the run as opposed to like third and 11 uh Adam Butler comes in on Third and 11 right so we'll see what ends up happening we'll see if Adam Butler is able to get more snaps this year I think he said that in his pressor like two days ago that he no longer wants to be known as just the third down player he wants to kind of develop his game and really that he can be a first down player as well but at the moment you got John Jenkins Christian Wilkins and directly behind those two guys you got Adam Butler and Byron young and Byron young being listed as the number two guy behind John Jenkins is very very very um is not surprising it's not the right word uh but it excites me man this fires me up I want to see Byron young I want to see him do well I want to see him succeed because what we saw last year was not acceptable to be a third round pick and not have you know an essentially a good offseason or a good season right and even have some flashes right like the guy had no flashes at all last year and he was a healthy scratch a lot so I'm glad that he's having a little bit more success so we'll see what actually ends up happening then you got Matthew Butler and Maran Mcall and uh honestly if I'm guessing which guys make the roster I'm going to say it's going to be these three here and it'll be these three here I think that's just generally what makes sense that's assuming we keep six defensive tackles we may choose to only end up keeping five uh and then in that case I think Matthew Butler might be the guy that's on the outside I think Marquan mall is going to impress a lot of people this year but we'll see what ends up happening I'm also pretty high on Matthew Butler um I'm excited for the young defensive tackles man I don't know what it is something about that position you know it could be the fifth string guy I will be excited to watch those guys and we will be doing a lot of preseason film breakdowns and those type of things as well uh I'll have access to the tape once again this year so I'm excited to let these guys play that first game and then the very next morning man we'll be up at like 5 am watching the tape and and kind of doing some film things so I'm excited to see what ends up happening defensive end you got Max and Malcolm as the starters backups is going be Tyrie Wilson jerius Robinson I think that makes sense I think that's just kind of what it is uh Robinson should make the roster but you know you can see the Raiders carrying six defensive tackles and maybe three defensive ends I think it is possible because uh you do have the flexibility in some of these other guys potentially lining up on the line of scrimmage maybe it's Amari Bernie maybe he steps up and and lines up on the line of scrimmage as a defensive end uh maybe it's Luke Masterson right so I wouldn't be surprised if the Raiders kept three DNS but I think four also makes sense Robinson has a little bit of upside he did show some flashes late in the season last year um and then you got a bunch of these these younger guys David a go is also a guy to kind of keep an eye on it'll be interesting to see what he ends up providing to the Raiders this year at the linebacker position again not surprising you know Divine Diablo Robert L are going to be your two starting linebackers right behind them though you got Luke masteron and you got Tommy ikenberg uh Tommy ikenberg at this moment is ahead of Amari Bernie and some people are surprised with that um you know I like Amari Bernie but he didn't really show me anything last year I felt like he was on the slower side he wasn't he was a little stiff he wasn't very fluid Bernie's kind of the opposite of Tommy anenberg right Tommy aen is fluid he's fast he's quick and he gets sideline to sideline now he does struggle against to run a little bit he is a much better downhill linebacker he you know he gets his nose in there but I guess that you know that's kind of what you want right those are two guys that longterm if they develop in a starting linebacker for the Raiders you know you want a run Defender and then you want one guy that's better against the pass that's kind of what we have right now with Robert Spain and divine Diablo you know Spain's a much better run Defender I think Divine Diablo I wouldn't say is a much better pass coverage but you know he does a better job being able to run with tight ends you know Robert Spain is a very smart football player so he might make plays in zone coverage specifically but Divine Diablo does a good job running with guys um and then Mari gainer in the very last spot and then you got maaga and Amari Bernie essentially on the third string spot the uh the defensive back room is exactly how we would expect now there's some good things that we're hearing with some of the younger quarterbacks we'll talk about that here in a second um but you got Nate Hobs you got Corin Bennett and you got Jack Jones so Jack Jones dominated today right he's been dominating the past couple of days I don't know if he feels disrespected or what it is but I expect a massive year coming out from Jack Jones and uh we've been hearing a lot of really really good things coming out with him and even Nate Hobbs has done a really good job in coverage so in my opinion I think the Raiders have two really solid cornerbacks that are solid in the Patrick gram scheme specifically uh more than that we heard a lot of good things early on from jorian Bennett but we've also heard recently that he's been getting flagged some more I'll be the first to tell you guys you know the the penalties in Camp don't translate to the penal during a live game these referees that are refering scrimmage are not necessarily the same referees that'll be refering when the NFL season comes around right it's not necessarily the same group uh the speed of the game is faster in the NFL than it is in like college or high school so we don't know exactly where these refs are coming from plus you know in the NFL they're going to teach their refs how to officiate a little bit differently right they're going to tell them what to look for what not to look for uh and honestly like Corin Bennett could be doing a much worse job and he's just not getting flat we would wouldn't know so we'll let that actually translate into the N onto the actual NFL field but at this point I think Jor Bennett has won the job Bron fa is not healthy and I think joran Bennett we've heard enough coming out of Camp um the guy that I speak to has said he looks good he looks sticky so at this point I think Bennett will probably you know I know he slotted as a starter now I'm pretty sure this is what it's going to be as we go into week one and I'm okay with it I don't think the Raiders need to go out and sign another cornerback which is something that did here early on early on in the process the Raiders were interested in Steven Nelson who played I think for the Steelers last year and the Raiders inquired with his agent to see if they can bring him in for an interview and uh this uh his agent initially told them that I will'll get back to you and then I guess he just announced his retirement wanted to spend time with his family but early on in the process the Raiders were interested in the corner and I guess Cory Bennett has looked good enough that the Raiders don't want to go out and at this point they don't have to go out and essentially get that corner now the rookies have apparently been looking very very very good um I forget who it was but uh there's a beat reporter that I heard I think I saw a clip either on Tik Tok or on Twitter uh it was one of the Raiders beat reporters uh they're talking about these two guys and I'm not sure if it was an article that they're they're referencing or if it was what the guy actually said but essentially they said and I think it was the camon Richardson essentially this the camon Richardson is going to be a great football player um and again we don't know right so early on in the process we don't know if these guys are going to end up translating MJ damire to Cameron Richardson both guys have a lot of upside but they got to develop and they got to be ready to actually play and they got to understand the verbiage and kind of what's expected from them and uh that's kind of what slowed down Jor Bennett last year remember he won the job came in he beat out some of the other guys and he just wasn't ready to play in the NFL the verbiage was a little bit too much and he ultimately ended up coming off the field and the Raiders am Robertson but Bennett was more talented than amek Robertson last year right so don't sleep onorin Bennett and then don't sleep on the two guys potentially also having a little bit of success you know I always say this and and I'll go ahead and say it again you know Robert Salah as an example when he was with the 49ers found a ton of success with his cornerback some of those guys got paid a lot of money he went to the Jets they drafted s Gardner and now s Gardner having a lot of success Dan Quinn has had a lot of success with guys like Richard Sherman with guys like um Brown I forget what the guy's name is but other Corners as well in that secondary Earl Thomas had a little bit of success he went for the Dallas Cowboys out of nowhere Trayvon digs becomes a superstar donon Bland who you know came into his rookie year had like five six interceptions and then he broke the record in the second year for you know interceptions taking the distance B bellich has always created so many great cornerbacks quarterbacks is a position where you know if a Coach is able to scout guys he knows what traits he needs and he knows if those guys will fit into his scheme and system corner is that position that a coach can absolutely develop you know star talent and what we saw from Jack Jones in the in the limited amount of snaps tells me that Patrick Graham knows what he's doing we saw Trayvon M take a massive step in his third year Marcus heeps had a lot of success in his third year I'm sorry in his first year with Patrick Graham and uh you know I I just think that the Raiders coach Patrick Graham knows what he's doing with defense backs we've been hearing a lot of good things with Isa Pao M as well I think for Patrick Graham to go out there and hand select camon Richardson and MJ devenshire I think there's some upside with those guys and we'll see what actually ends up happening now we do have some other younger udfas we got w guer we got uh Rashad Williams as well we'll see what those guys can develop into Sam Webb I think is in his third year with the Raiders as well don't don't quote me on that um but Patrick G also brought him in I don't think he's in his third year I'm pretty sure s web played somewhere else before he came to Raiders but uh he's been with Patrick grah now for a couple years as well so we'll see what which one of these guys can actually have a little bit of success uh and then don't sleep on the veterans Brandon facon Cornell Armstrong now to be fair Brandon facon has not practiced so we don't know what he will be with Patrick Graham Coral Armstrong there's been some good things with him as well that have kind of come out and then of course with the free safety strong safety pretty much exactly how you would expect Trayvon Merck Marcus EPS Isaiah Palau I do do think that the Chris myth one is kind of interesting obviously you understand you want the seconde player ahead of the rookie but uh it's going to be interesting because how many safeties do the Raiders carry you know our roster is very very deep this year we can't carry five safeties and six defensive tackles and six cornerbacks you know and six linebackers or five linebackers and four DN like you know your your space runs out super fast you got to make Cuts in certain spots and I think for the Raiders they're going to have to really figure it out on who they're going to cut and Trey Taylor is not a guy you're going to cut you just drafted him you owe him money for the next four years right I always funny to me that people think that uh a team drafting a guy in you know any of the seven rounds is going to end up getting cut because that means other teams can pick them up and I don't think you know guys want guys that you drafted to ultimately get stolen off your practice squad Trey Taylor to me is going to be on the active roster uh I think the two corners we drafted are going to be on the active roster I think Tommy ikenberg is going to be on the active roster so if you just kind of go down the list it's interesting to try to put together who the Raiders will actually end up starting I will be doing an official depth you know my or not depth but I'll be doing an official who I think will be on the official 53 man roster for the Raiders and then uh let's also not leave out special teams uh AJ Cole Daniel Carlson AJ Cole holder Long Snapper Jacob bobin Meyer uh that is 100% expected the return game is going to be interesting because right now for kick return we got Amir Abdullah punt return we got Trey Tucker but that's not fixed in stone right we've heard that Dylan L has had a couple of nice returns Jack Jones has taken a couple to the house DJ Turner has looked good as well and the Raiders have been utilizing him a little bit more on the offensive side as well the Raiders have weapons this year man I know you know I know people are going to say well these guys haven't proven that they're like Superstar players at the NFL level but there's so much upside with some of these guys man Trey Tucker Dylan L DJ Turner imagine Jack Jones getting some kick returns imagine him lining up that wide receiver a little bit it's possible he played wide receiver in high school uh the Raiders have weapons right the guys on the bottom of the depth chart are talented as hell for the Raiders I think the Raiders didn't have a lot of success this year man I really really do but of course that will be contingent on the play caller as well as the quarterback position but I you know if those two units have success the Raiders of the team will win 10 11 12 games if they don't we won't win that you know that many games but we can still have success right we can still break sack records we can still break you know young tight ends you know Brock Bowers maybe breaks whatever the the record is for a tight end um there's there's a lot that the Raiders can do this year man but uh that's the official breakdown of the depth chart let me know what you guys think are there any units you guys disagree with let me know in the comments below thumbs up subscribe I will be going live uh at 4:00 today so make sure you guys tune in for the live and I'll see you guys next time with another video video
