[Music] hey everybody welcome back to the nrw i'm your host rob madina and i thank you all very much for joining me here today and this is gonna be my quick review for the movie camping trip now i had a chance to check out this film not too long ago here because this movie actually be dropping tomorrow on digital download on the 16th um and to start off with my thoughts on the film i just thought the film was okay because i remember when i first saw the trailer to this movie i wasn't so intrigued with the look of the film but i was intrigued with the idea of the movie considering that this movie takes place during the height of the pandemic in fact this movie was actually literally made during the height of the pandemic and i actually thought that that was very interesting that that the reality and the film's uh um storyline are parallel to each other in that respect so i thought that that was an interesting approach considering the circumstances here so i was actually intrigued with where the story was going to be going here and having seen the film i i was just okay with the movie overall didn't hate the film by any means um there are actually some great elements about the movie that i did take away from here because the overall story is simply uh follows these two these actually two couples who are coming out of lockdown and they decide to go on a camping trip and unbeknownst to them there happens to be a an illegal deal being made with these two uh rogue rednecks if you will that are trying to give this man this uh substance i believe i recall correctly that was going to be used as an ingredient to find the cure for covid and then the deal went awry and then um people get killed and they the campers were happening to be in there in the area when this all had occurred and now they're thrown into the mix here and now they're trying to survive and that's pretty much right there the story in a nutshell uh i will say that one thing i will give the film credit for is that there is actually one part of the movie where one of the leads in the film who happens to be one of the co-directors in leonardo fuyke i think he pronounced his last name who would co-direct with this movie this film with his brother damian um he does make us a really wonderful commentary about how society is and it is kind of a social commentary to a lot of in a lot of ways here but i don't think what he was making as far as a counter is concerned was like ahead of his time it was more or less about how society at least people in general have gone through this type of pandemic before if you can consider uh the the spanish flu among other ones as well too they're always there's always seems to be like a history of people being frightened of what's going on and the times have changed along the way that people handle that is much more different now so this more or less reflects that here but i thought the the the commentary was making on that in this particular uh pandemic definitely did give some insight about how people will react especially when it was at the very beginning stages of covid which i thought was very interesting but then after that as you start to see the story progress along the way where the couple start off as being very much in tune with each other being very well connected being very friendly with each other because they do have a history with one another along the way you start to see that commentary he made about how people pretty much eat themselves out that starts to happen in this movie here too without really getting to spoilers here you basically start to see how the very same people who you consider to be your closest friends or family are the various people that are pretty much going to turn against you for one reason or another and i thought the film did that very well and in showcasing that element of of people panicking and not understanding how to communicate those thoughts and how to thoroughly think things through especially when they're put on the spot which i thought was really unique in that respect that's not it's not that we have not seen that before we definitely have but i thought the movie really showcased a side of that at least in this case for the pandemic times and how people react to that because there was a lot of that going on uh during that period but um considering that this is more or less kind of like a thriller the the violence in this movie i wouldn't say is the best part about the film it really is hasn't just to do with certain aspects of the film pointing out the the flaws and people's point of view when it comes to these uh these harsh um understanding of how to be able to adapt and learn how to communicate and coordinate certain things on the way considering that everything's got shut down and they're limited to certain things that they may be able to get to that they were able to get to before and not able to get to now so in that respect i thought it worked well but as far as the negatives are concerned i think the biggest problem that i had with the film was that the way that certain things were executed along the way for me just didn't click all that well i didn't think any of the characters were terrible in fact i thought they were quite interesting but i just didn't think the way that they were handled in this movie uh worked all that well for me but this isn't a film that i would say you should not check out i think you should check out the phone hopefully you'll come to enjoy i personally just thought it was okay i didn't really take anything away from it other than what i just pointed out in the positives here but as far as the my overall viewing experience the movie i was kind of bored with it at times but i said as i said before i don't i don't hate the movie so if as far as my rate is concerned i would give this film a worth a shot and those are my thoughts on the film and if you have seen the movie let
