Ashlyn Watkins Arrested~ Is this a bad look for South Carolina Women’s Basketball?

what's up everyone welcome back I hope everybody's having a great great Sunday afternoon welcome back to another video with Gamecock Chuck um I was doing my live football stream last night at the Gamecock season opener and uh somebody brought this to my attention they asked my thoughts on it so that's what we're going to do this video today we're going to talk a little bit about or I going give you my my feelings or my thoughts on the whole uh situation went down in Colombia yesterday um I guess yesterday morning Friday night whatever it was uh they got one of our basketball women's basketball Superstar ashon Watkins arrested um before I do that hit that like And subscribe button help this channel grow it is greatly appreciated okay um like I said the news broke I guess yesterday morning I I missed it for some reason somehow I did not see it come across the the the X Twitter line or whatever it was um but apparently one of our basketball women's basketball Superstar Ashton Watkins was arrested right she was arrested for assault and battery I believe it was and kidnapping now the kidnapping was a little confusion was a little confusing to me uh but I read somewhere that uh apparently the kidnapping stems from her I guess being aggressive and I guess grabbing the the victim or the individual and Le leing that person against their wheel down a hallway so I guess that's where the the uh kidnapping part come into come in play here um so I'm not no law expert or anything so I I can't speak on the terminology of that or I can't give no opinion on that my thoughts is or my my opinion on the whole situation like someone asked me what I thought of it um I think it's a bad look for the University of South Carolina I think it's a bad look for a program that is led by a Hall of Fame head coach and Coach Don Staley a championship winning Championship level program all right um coming off of a undefeated National Championship season uh I think it's a bad look for fla University like I said um it breaks my heart it it is disappointing to read news like that especially involving a a young student athlete uh and especially from my team the team that I root for so so um feverishly all year long right I defend that team I talk about that team I get on here and do videos about the team I I watch the games I watch every game I can watch if it's on TV I'm watching it if I can't get to the to the game in person I'm watching the game right I'm invested in that program I I cheer for these ladies um I do like I said I do women's basketball content on this channel and and like I said it breaks my heart to see stuff like that right um this young lady has everything going for her right she got an education she's working on education at South Carolina right she's on a topnotch program right a championship level program in the University of South Carolina she's coached by one of the best or the best coaches out there right in D Staley like I said she has a whole lot going for her and like I said it just breaks my heart that that something like this would transpire right my thoughts on the whole situation is and I could be totally wrong and that's where you guys come into it um but I could be totally wrong this when you at that level of your life right as a student athlete um at a program like the University of South Carolina and I I said this a little bit on my show last night when somebody asked me you got to learn right you got to know and learn to walk away from things it don't matter what that individual said to her okay this is just my opinions my thoughts you got to learn to be the better person the bigger person right to walk away from situations like this because you got people out there just looking that's willing to throw their your self on the line to to take you down right you got to learn to be the better the better person the bigger person to just walk away there's no shame in just walking away from somebody no matter what they say to you right she has everything going for her she is one of one of our best players on the team right which we have a lot of good players on we have a lot of good players on the team right but she was poised to have what I think would been a fantastic a fabulous year this year with Camila cardo are gone she's a a big time Ford that I've seen had very very much a big time role in this upcoming season and it's just all thrown away because of one action right so like I said you got to learn to just step away right to just walk away as they say back in the day turn the other cheek whatever whatever you want to say right you got to learn to just just walk away from things like that and I think that's that would have I think we would we wouldn't even be in the situation right now right if she' have just done that but it happened it's over so where do we go from here does coach Dy uh dismiss from the team I think so I don't know all the the legal legalities of it all I don't know what's going to come about of it but if in fact that you know from what I heard it was it was captured on video surveillance and apparently from what I've also heard and this is hearsay uh you guys can correct me if I'm wrong but she admitted to doing said to actions right so if if all that is true then yeah I mean you you have to set a precedent um at South Carolina at any University when things like that happen right you cannot uh allow uh assault and battery charges and things like that these kind of offenses to you know tarnish your program Tarn tarnish your legacy as a coach as a university so like I said it breaks my heart that she done it and if it does come out that everything is true and factual and she's being charged with this stuff like like I've seen um but does she deserve to be kicked off the team I mean right now if she's found guilty if she if she done what says what what is been said done yeah she deserves to be kicked off the team will she I don't know I don't know what coach Staley is thinking I don't know the process that University is going to go through as far as investigating anything I I really don't know I don't have no Insight information but like I said that's where I want you guys to come into it I want yall to get in the comments let me know what y'all think of the whole situation um and and and talk about you know drop y'all feelings in the comments on it and uh that's all I got for it man like I said I hate that it happened I was excited for her future at South Carolina but it may look like it is in Jeopardy uh going forward so
