all right welcome back to the one bar and L get show him one bar and I did not have this on the bingo card this morning Vikings have waved quarterback jiren Hall let that sink in we waved jiren Hall and signed quarterback Brett rippen before we get into that remember subscribe to the channel like the videos If you ever dayba talking Vikings hit that sub button let's get to 13,000 Subs we're going live tomorrow Friday night at five so grab a beer join us we'll be talking about this move uh so there's two two sides of this two sides of this let me know in the comments hot and heavy I have a hunch that no is going to be overly excited about this move jiren Hall is that mid- round quarterback we drafted last year came in you know he looked like a rookie didn't look overly great out there probably shouldn't have been out there but he was a guy that the Vikings were taking under his wing they were G to make him potentially JJ McCarthy's backup for the long term which would have been beautiful it would have been fantastic to have a homegrown backup quarterback that uh that is ours that we developed so last year did not look good this year dude comes out he actually looked pretty damn good he was showing Improvement everything you want to see in this so the fact that he was waved uh I look forward to seeing if this was has to do with an injury he got an injury designation is that the issue we know he was hurt in that last preseason game I would be shocked if they just flat out waved them and moved on from him I mean there's got to be something behind it like it just doesn't make sense so we'll see and in the comments let me know if it's already come out while I'm doing this video why they waved him uh let me know so jiren Hall uh maybe he comes back at some point maybe not but it's kind of a gut punch um we'll see because as We Know we got Sam so now we have Sam darnold Nick Mullen and Brett rippen yuck that ain't great man I mean I mean I'm looking forward to Sam darnold but if he goes down we're screwed uh so let's go to Brett rippen undrafted free agent out of Boise state has already been on four teams Denver Rams was just recently cut by the Bears and now he is a brand new Minnesota Viking a beloved Viking I mean don't get me wrong I love Brett rippen all of a sudden I don't know what the hell he's doing on the team but I love him uh went undrafted uh looked up his draft profiles and stuff because I'm not going to sit and blow smoke that I know everything about Brett ripping but just didn't have like really that wow factor the it Factor uh undersized quarterback I 62 200 pounds something like that um just kind of a scrappy good accuracy uh I reached out to Nick from just another year Chicago Bears who joins us on NFC round table because he got the CBR rip in this preseason and he I said give me one sentence and he said Scrappy Gunslinger who reads the field well and has good accuracy so Brett rippen's probably very fun to watch in the preseason that Scrappy dude who just slings that thing if he's out there for the at any point this season has gone completely sideways because he he's going to be our third string quarterback and he has no reason to be out there and I don't know is he even gonna be a Viking that long we will see so he has started some four or four games in the pros he's two and two uh I don't know if I mentioned this but his draft profile his NFL comp guess who it was was Nick freaking Mullin Nick Mullin was his NFL comp so this was meant to be so yeah I mean in rippen's very small amount of time he's been out there he's looked like a guy that was undrafted and and should be a backup quarterback I mean he has the mold to be a backup quarterback in the league and he'll probably be a guy that sticks around for quite a while and bounces around from Team to team um it just sucks that jiren Hall was a guy that we were starting to work his way up I mean he was still going to be the third Stringer this year next year one more year under your belt maybe you push for that backup quarterback when we go with McCarthy and jiren Hall but it is what it is Brett rippen nephew of uh former Washington beloved Washington quarterback Mark rippen is a Minnesota Viking and now we instantly love him let me know in the comments how you feeling did not see this one coming uh by the way we still only have two running backs on the roster so we'll be back hot and heavy all damn
