[Applause] welcome to Tuscaloosa Alabama where Legends are made and titles are won Bryant Denny Stadium home of the Alabama Crimson Tide maybe you need a little caffeine or maybe the sheer energy of this matchup will keep you wide awake as we know anything can happen when you kick off after dark as we'll see a squad from the aacc the south Florida Bulls taking on the sixth ranked team in the land the Alabama Crimson tie glad to have you with us for EA Sports college football I'm Rees Davis David Po and Jesse Palmer with me in the booth guys we are ready to te it [Music] up Alabama about to kick off to get this game underway out of the end zone really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 you think the fans are ready for this one the Booth's shaking underneath his guys they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you know the one thing you can say about this defense they pursue the football the first guy might miss the second guy might miss but there's going to be more and more hats flying to the ball carry you saw it on that play getting the tackle for once the Bulls want to move quickly he's got it on the right didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few the these guys are called matchup guys they're not the biggest guys on the field but they're going to win short and they're going to catch the ball and they're going to make yards after the catch you can tell those are the type of guys in college football that are starting to get maximized and used a lot more than they were in the past Brown will throw it it's caught downfield really nice job there to pick up the first down and get it to their own 41 you know it's a nice throw by the QB there when you're throwing to running backs you got to make it easy on so you want to put it right on their body make the catch simple and let them go to work like they did just there getting that first you can barely hear yourself thinking here as they're trying to get this defense off to a good start to the ground with the back really nice run there good solid pickup and they'll move the sticks with a first down I am impressed with the physicality we're seeing up front by this offensive line playing on the road they knew they wanted to get the Run game established and they are doing just that they're not just getting three four yards a pop they are gashing this defense and the Bulls are marching down the field One Step W two-step squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground as an offense you're okay with that you're going to run option plays and sometimes you're going to bust it big but sometimes you don't necessarily read it correctly get some positive yards and and then we come back and we do it all over again with with different reads against the different defense after trying the running game let's see if they do it again on second down On The Run it's right and they'll stop him after a minimal pickup now that's what you're trying to do as a defense limit those damages when they run the football get them on the ground short gains to set your defense for positive situations Down the Road decb Rising as the crowd Gets behind this defense on third down out of the gun they'll run it inside really tough run there he got four that'll leave him a yard short on fourth down this offense gets into plus territory they're going to go for it regardless of their field goal kicker range he's got him and they convert and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep him from getting the first down that's a great example of the receiver knowing exactly where the first down marker is he got the depth he needed to get so once he was able to make the catch he already knew he had it and now a fresh set of downs the Bulls want to crank the tempo LS to throw on first down off the play fake just had to get rid of that one good job to fight another [Applause] play second down after that incompletion the give on the inside he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see what the call is just an obvious holding call there and one that just kills an offense's [Applause] momentum they'll run it from the gun and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge well this is a defense that we know takes tons of Pride stopping the Run that's where it all starts and ends with them and you saw a great effort on that last play This Crowd bringing the energy and noise early on Third and long a check down would be the last resort just threw that one away to avoid disaster and money down is where you see defenses really understand where the sticks are play great pass defense know what's coming and get off the field and the Bulls will call on their punt team first punt of the day and he'd love to lock them up close to their goal [Applause] line he won't be able to return this one as it goes out of bounds here's this offense with a fresh set of downs off the play fake on first down to throw that pressure got to him and he just had to Chuck it out of bounds [Applause] that incompletion leads to Second down and 10 from the gut the running back looking for room brought down at the 28 but it's a 10yd gain that has got to be demoralizing of you're on defense because they just ran the ball right right up the middle down your throats and they gashed [Applause] you offense has it at the 28 on first [Applause] down and it's incomplete if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball in football you hear the turn quick but don't hurt and you could tell when you run these rpos the QBs want to make that decision quick I think he hurried it a little bit too much got the ball out quick but obviously was inaccurate in his pass after they couldn't connect it's second and 10 wide receiver coming across in motion the playaction fake throws for the tight end got his man all by himself major gaps in that defense and he got loose and they finally knock him down at the 41 nice job by the quarterback hey the defense is going to let your big tight end be wide open like that you will take that throw all day long and they do for a big game Alabama pushing the [Applause] tempo the run from the shotgun he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three that play had zero shot they got to do a better job up front creating some running LS the running back before he could go anywhere get getting tackled nowhere to go last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 he'll keep it himself they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks yeah and that's the hard thing about these cuties they can move and run all over the place and give you so many options is that that didn't even look like much but he chews up so much yardage and gets those little gains that just Death By A Thousand Cuts that continue to happen with this [Applause] offense now well within Striking Distance as that third down play gets him a first at the 29 if I'm building an offense in today's football it's not around a quarterback that can't run I'm going to find an athlete that I can give the ball because defensively it starts to limit your coverages it starts to limit what I can do it makes me play the quarterback every single play just makes your job as a defensive coordinate extremely hard they'll make the Stop and he gets four on the play balls at the 25 it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six [Applause] now he's looking to throw it he is lucky to get that one back and the last thing you want is to turn it over on your opening drive oh and on defense you just got to be able to finish that play that Defender had the football in his hands he's just got to catch it that should have been an interception they run into a bit of trouble here third and long from the 25 and the last thing they want is to get knocked out of field goal range to the air it's row now adjusting trying to escape and get it himself he gets the job done picking up the first down then getting down nice job nice way to end that play for the QB he does a really good job scrambling getting the first down and getting down because defensively I'm trying to get a lick anytime I can hit the quarterback that is a win Alabama with a first and 10 here they're threatening to score and they'll throw it he makes the connection good throwing catch takes it down in the five as the offense tries to cash in complete some of these hitch throws early you're setting up the hitch and go later on you can pump fake that then the receiver can pette right up the sideline that might be a home run play for the offense going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone power football with the Run they'll get him stopped just short of the end zone but they're in business here here with a first down it's great awareness by the running back understanding where the first down marker is and doing whatever it takes to get [Applause] it Alabama comes to the line with a first end goal trying to punch it in and he takes it in for the score touchdown Alabama the offense goes as he goes so really no surprise in the opening drive they keep feeding him the football he showed you all of his ability on that [Applause] [Applause] TD they'll try to add another to their lead and the pat makes it 7 nothing precise Relentless execution on that 13pl scoring drive and it was closed out by the short yardage touchdown the kickoff team out there and ready to go he'll start the return inside his SP he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 South Florida has it back and the Bulls offense will return to the field from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back not much there picks up a couple to the 22 and the defense doing a great job committing to the run when you commit to the run like this obviously you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first the Bulls want to pick up the tempo right back to him on the ground maybe picked up a couple he's down at the 24 [Applause] a third down play to get the quarter started they try to pop a run on the draw he's going to have enough to pick up the first down as they stop him at the 33 yd line well that's kind of the advantage of third and medium right is the defense you keep them guessing you could throw it you can run it that time they hand it off and they pick it up yeah and you can see the d drop back a little bit it creates a little bit of space the the running back blast through gets the first [Applause] down the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D they stop him cold maybe gets a yard to the 34 and a lot of times you want those big plays you want those Splash plays but sometimes you're going to take some losses you're not going to run the football overly well but if you continue to run it you can at least create some balance you at least have the threat of it otherwise you're just going to abandon it and now it's just going to be a passing game from the gun they'll give it on the inside they can rely on this guy to pick up solid yardage when they need it and he's out to the 43 listen you you got to be able to know what play to call and what hole to go through like the line blocks for a certain hole good job getting through the hole getting what was blocked getting a nice positive gain making your situation really good on the next down Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down and the Bulls get it past the sticks and that's so tough as a defense because they only got to get inches but I got to find a way to somehow get a knockback stop the running back's feet right there I couldn't do it he gets downhill just enough and he gets the first down it's a good job too there on third down by the offense because a major statistic in football in terms of winning and losing is how good are you at staying on the field keeping drives alive whether it's third and long or third and inches you just have to go execute they do it there Run game is good balance is good now listen if the Run game isn't good then you got to pass the football a little bit more but sometimes you got to keep them honest take them chunk by chunk didn't get much on first down it's second and nine trying to get the edge on the toss and a nice solid pickup there before the defense wrestles him to the ground the Bulls are in the hurry [Applause] up brown wants to pass there has not close as he got drilled trying to deliver it and it'll bring up fourth down great job by the defense dialing at some pressure on third down they hit the quarterback and force the incompletion and the Bulls will send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it [Applause] away bringing it back it's Bernard was looking for more Running Room but but found nothing but more tacklers he's down at the 24 the tied offense rolls onto the field they'll run it from the gun not a lot of room but found his way ahead for two out to the [Music] 26 picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down off the bootleg wants to toss it he wants to take the top off and it slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge gain if he could have squeezed it that that's one of those plays where you're going man he probably could have made that the defense wasn't great on the play but guess what it goes down as an incompletion those are one of those bullets that you got to dodge throughout a game to get the win to limit those big plays might be looking to run and he avoids the hit and slides after the short game it's nice for this D coordinator when he puts his nickel package out on the field because that nickel player he's got who Subs in is is good in coverage he's also aggressive and he does a nice job blitzing and he can play The Run they can spy the quarterback there's a lot of different tools this guy's got to defend against the mobile quarterback and I think you saw a little bit right there in that nickel package Now setting up fourth and longone perhaps feeling that coverage aage coming signals for the fair Catch and makes it at the 25 South Florida ready to send the offense back onto the field out of the gun the running back has it good solid run on that one as he gets it up to the 33 yd line I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and [Applause] three quarterback on the keeper he's got it out to the 37 after gaining five in an offense if you're going to be successful running the ball and I don't care who it is carrying it you've got to have receivers that are willing to block you got to have guys that are willing to get involved how about the receiver here on the stock block going and picking off that safety they've got it at the 37 it's first and 10 hand off from the gun a strong tackle and wrap up from the [Applause] junior the Bulls racing to the line in the hurry [Applause] up from the shotgun on the hand off to the back a confident tough efficient run gets it up to the 44 I think they called that knowing they weren't going to hit a home run so why would you call it that well you call it so third down becomes an easier down it's not third and long where I have to pass the football now all options on the table third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here Brown will throw it Wiggles for and they got him for the sack you know strong safeties are known for their ability stopping the Run not so much in pass coverage or in rushing the passer but that strong safety there showing you all of his ability [Applause] and the Bulls will punt it away on fourth [Applause] down signals for the fair Catch and that's where they'll put it in play just outside the 20 here comes that Alabama offense from the gun give on the inside great move now he's got room he will step out of bounds but not before the big pickup and a first down down for this offense and busting big runs like this we always talk about the running backs but it's the big boys up front Paving their Lanes those receivers gluing on those DBS that make these plays really go for big yardage and how about those receivers not just the glamour of catching passes but doing some dirty work too no doubt when they get on those guys in the second level and get on those DBS that's when you break those big long runs and that's what makes this defense so difficult to run against they've got guys up front that just push offensive linemen backwards they basically push the blockers right into the lap of that running back lost one on that last one it's second and 11 the give to the back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one that linebacker was a heat seeking missile and the heat that he sought was the ball carrier yeah great job great feeli lot backers are making all the calls in the defense and understanding when I need to come through that Gap and come through with bad intentions those guys are usually 245 lbs of heat seeking missile looking to throw it's milro incomplete and he threw that one up for grabs and into traffic and fortunate to get it back wow that quarterback is lucky there if you're going to take a chance like that on third down in your end of the field you better be right because that should have been picked and returned for a touchdown this this offense is lucky now they're getting a chance to punt this ball away looks as if the tide will punt it [Applause] away pretty solid coverage there and they'll stop him at the 26 South Florida has it back and the Bulls offense will return to the field they've had to punt the last couple of times they've had it David now trying to put something together mace do you know how much I love punters and kickers like you don't want to see them very often those are not guys that we want to see on the field we want to do something else and be a little bit more productive offensively here I think David on this drive the quarterback's just got to settle down a little but these last few drives looks like he's seeing ghost we've SE him Force the football he's missed a couple throws he needs to just take a deep breath and play Within himself the offense lines up at the 40 they've got a first down looking to move it through the air coming after him just gets rid of it before the Heat hit hard just as he released it on first down and just couldn't get it to the receiver doesn't take this defense a lot of time to get to the quarterback man they've got speed all over the place they hit him so quickly and because of that the ball Falls incomplete they'll spread the defense out going five wide on second and 10 after the incompletion back to the passing game and that's just a flat misfire not even close to his receiver here they come facing third and long from the 40 Brown wants to pass he lets one fly deep right on the money to the outside he dragged the toe and how about the ball placement only the receiver could get it and they just want to give this guy a chance to make a play on third down and more times than not he is going to deliver he's so good so efficient such a good route Runner got the speed got the complete game so you definitely want to highlight him and especially on those Downs that matter the most if something's not open Quick underneath find him he'll make those and the quarterback runs out of time and down he goes at the 38 and what an awesome response from defense you give up a huge play the play before and what do you come back you come back and you get pressure on the quarterback and you get him on the ground before he can make another big play they'll try to kick it into overdrive clock's running second down [Applause] coming he's looking to throw pressure's there and he gets rid of it that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble you got to love the aggressive nature this defense is playing with right now and you're seeing the athletes and the dudes they've got up front a sack on the last play they hit the quarterback on this last one now third down you know they're going to be pinning their ears back on Third and long you'll need to push it downfield it's caught timeout called here by the defense it's their first of the half well this offense has given a lesson right now and how to fight through adversity because first and second down was ugly but they come up with that huge completion to Now set up a manageable fourth down opportunity to keep this drive alive it is true as he puts three on the board [Applause] [Applause] so the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away after putting up a field goal let's see what the defense can do and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 the tied offense rolls onto the field they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt too don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here second and short now after that completion to the air it's milro throws to the wide out he's got it and they're getting it rolling with that play to the 42 yd line and you just could not allow that to happen defensively giving up a big play like that they're going to need to now play with some sense of urgency if they're not going to give up any points here before the end of the half they'll snap this one from the 42 it's first and 10 he's looking to throw it unloads it left and his throw is incomplete the timing on that throw and on the right out was just convoluted and messed up from the beginning and you see quarterbacks and wide receivers in the offseason always working on timing and always working on throwing on air but when you put a defense in front of them now things start to speed up a little bit a lot of times you'll see these little mistakes and where it looks like just they're not on the same page all the time catch in the middle it's Bernard and this defense is a half a beat behind they just can't quite keep up they've got it down to the 21 right second quarter getting closer to the half offense is still having a lot of success stringing some first downs together defense is going to need to figure something out before they get to halftime got him downfield that completion will take them inside the 10 to the N yd [Applause] [Music] [Applause] line one more snap coming before juice boxes and orange slices we've got a timeout in the waning seconds of the half maybe a chance to get off a couple more plays so they'll send out the field goal unit from the left hash and this distance ought to make that angle pretty easy to handle splits the upright it's good [Music] so they get the late field goal right before the half and not much time after this kickoff for an answer on the run from inside his own five they make the stop on the return and that is Priority One you don't want some big return to give up a cheap touchdown on the final play of the half we've played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connor in our halftime update got things teed up and just about ready to go here in the second [Applause] half here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 here comes that Alabama offense and then a low-scoring game like this one David every possession is magnified and I think more than running toward the tape he's at the 40 at the 20 touchdown Crimson tie and once he found daylight it was Katie Bar the Door baby speed kills this offense they've got multiple guys that can burn you you can see it doesn't take them long to light up the scoreboard lining up to tack one more onto that lead the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead that one's going to get a little star Mark decided on the play sheet One play explosive touchdown just like that a lining up to boot it away he'll bring it back from inside to spot and the returner is stopped South Florida ready ready to send the offense back onto the field it's always great to get points on a drive but it would behoove them to try to get a touchdown this time around Palmer they may have to get out of their comfort zone here too David a little bit and just start being more aggressive and take some chances but that's what's going to have to happen for them to win this game yeah and when you're losing obviously everything gets heightened everything becomes more critical this drive is crucial because you've got to cut into this deficit and put some points on the board the Bulls headed quickly to the line give to the back and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions if every Journey begins with a step this offense needs to step into a third down conversion and and then try to turn it into some scores and fast oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down this is a point where you just got to be able to focus and the critical down and distances in this game like that third down right there when it's a good throw you got to make the catch you got to be able to make that play and the Bulls will bring the punt team onto the field and good work by the coverage team to get the Return Man Down On The Ground the tied offense rolls onto the field they torched this defense with an explosive passing play for a score last time out let's see if they go right back at him coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that six pick up on first down leaves him with second and four dropping back it's milro feeling some heat and the defense gets to the quarterback all right that's one the offensive line has got to be able to communicate and pick up when that inside linebacker comes running through the a gap or the B Gap those o linemen they've got to work together and they've got to pass guys off to one another to make sure they pick him up they didn't do it that time [Applause] third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off from the gun wants to pass unloads to the wide out got his man good job running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the cat that is going to drive this defensive coordinator nuts a lot of DCs they focus a ton of energy on how they unit performs on third down and in the Red Zone if this defense gives up a couple more third down conversions like that they're going to be in for a very unpleasant film session on Monday Ed the play fake now to throw a strike downfield they are on the move down to the 32 and they pick up another first down high flying pass catchers and the Crimson Tide that combination wasn't right at the top of your mind say 30 years ago no it used to be run run more run and you've seen over the years they've opened it up the Playbook and they've brought in dudes they've had some guys that can fly what receivers winning Heisman Trophies like so many game breakers on the outside that make big plays in this offense it's so nice as an offense to know you can generate explosive plays by handing the football off to this guy he has got incredible speed the tide with the first and [Applause] 10 they're getting this guy lathered up got some room headed to the goal line touchdown TI and they take it in for six more points another rushing touchdown that's now two on the game this offense thought they could come into this one running the ball being the more physical team and they look like it right now [Applause] winding up to add another and the extra point is true and the lead balloons to 21 so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they finished it off with an exclamation point running it in from the 19 about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown on the move from inside is five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 South Florida has it back and the Bulls offense will return to the field he'll pull it on the read they're down by 21 points but you got a touchdown here and you do at least apply a little game pressure Jesse it's true I think for them to get back in this one at this point now they need the quarterback to play his best football he's going to have to be good really pre- snap David making sure they're in the right looks and he's got to be really good with his decision making he's got to be dowed in because defensively you're giving up points so it's not like you have the luxury of your defense playing great the offense is going to have to score and score pretty dang quickly out of the gun they give to the back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one that linebacker saw the express lane right to the ball carrier and a great job by the defensive line getting some push making them use their resources on him linebacker comes free B and making the back field for a tackle for a loss the Bulls will hustle to the [Applause] line brown will throw it fires on the Move complete to the right excellent job working through the air there finding a hole in that defense and picking up a first down when you're a playmaker like this guy is your coaches are going to dial up plays intended for you especially on third down that's what you saw in that last play there was no question where the quarterback was going with that football all week long they decided on the biggest Downs of this game we're going to Target our best player and we're going to make sure that he gets looks it doesn't matter with the coverages and you saw it right there on that play that's caught it's right and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain guys out of the back field now it's not just run the ball downhill anymore you got to be versatile I got to be able to trust you in the pass game and I got to be able to throw you the football and you can do that right there I know you're going to catch it and I can depend on you now on second [Applause] down he's looking to throw throw got it behind the line it's right and he is run out of bounds as they go backwards there and just avoided the [Applause] contact and this offense just has to find a way to convert this third down or else they are really in trouble from the gun wants to pass makes a connection they convert on third down as he gets it to the 46 yd line these two guys just on the same wavelength they make clutch connections all the time and that's practice man that's all summer that's all spring just so many hundreds and hundreds and thousands of balls where you know exactly when that guy's going to break you know he's a stud you're going to feed him especially on these third down situations a seven yd pickup it'll be second and [Applause] three went to the running game on first down now here they come again the run to the left he had all kinds of company as soon as he got and he had to fight his way back just to get to the line of scrimmage that's a really good stop by the defense Jesse they need a few more you've given up a bunch of yards on this drive and a bunch of plays but all that matters is keeping them off the scoreboard yeah it's that bend don't break mentality you're seeing right now and this is the point where this defense has just got to lock [Applause] in on Third and short just trying to get enough for the first down they get him on the ground after he gets enough to move the sticks man that was a good run but it was almost even better great job by the offense keep the running game going you get big chunks Like This Not only was that a big chunk it also looked like it could have gone for more and the Bulls in the hurry [Applause] up from the gun he leaves it with the back [Applause] didn't get much on first down it's second and [Applause] nine they'll leave it with him at the 20 he's got space he got a bunch and look close to getting a lot more but he's got the first down this running back loves running into the teeth of the defense in between the tackles he keeps a low pad level and he's got some speed here's an opportunity for this offense in search of its first touchdown it's first and 10 they move the tight end all over running back searching for a hole able to get one down to the 15 [Applause] [Applause] didn't get much on first down it's second and nine when they've got him looking run now to pass got it and he'll step out of bounds just short of the goal line almost a touchdown but not in there yet exceptional footwork to stay in bounds and just a little bit better than he could have scored yeah if he keeps his balance or or gets the speed going up field a little bit more he might get into the end zone but just kind of ran out of space over there on that sideline try to barge their way in he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple [Applause] starting off this quarter close enough to smell the goal [Applause] line trying to bully their way in he works his way ever closer all the way down to the one yd line and now a big third down coming up down multiple possessions this is one Palmer I'm looking for six I'm not trying to kick a field goal I want to cut into this lead with a touchdown no you got to have it and also considering all that this is four down territory too so you need to identify who are your best players on offense and how can you give them a chance to score this touchdown and he's knock down man if I'm quarterback right now after this long of a drive down this close I'm going for a touchdown here p and I get that but I've worn this defense out man I'm going to go for the touchdown right here and if I miss they got to go the whole length of the field to score a touchdown a field goal does not top the list of most helpful things at this juncture so they'll go for it on fourth down they stop him short of the marker and they'll turn it over on down they're backed up first and 10 from inside their own five let's see if they can create some space leaves it with the running back gives him a little more breathing room at three yd gain out to the seven [Music] after the threey pickup they come to the line Second and seven they'll try the Run finally pulled down but not before moving the change for a first down and listen if it ain't broke don't fix it I I mean I love teams that commit to the run and when it's successful keep running the rock yeah David I I think this offensive line right now they've got a lather going they're really sort of getting in the groove and flow of this game they're just getting tremendous push at the point of attack it seems like every single time they decide to run the ball work his way ahead for three they'll spot it at the [Music] 18 got three on on first down it's second and seven going to run it it's Hayes he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and after taking a loss on that last run a little bit of pressure right now for this offense on their own side of the field they've got the lead here in the fourth quarter but this is a critical third down that they have to convert they don't want to give the ball back and put the pressure on their own defense if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum looking for a physical attack from the gun at the 35 he's got room and he's to the 48 yd line that'll be good enough for a first down yeah and obviously this offense has had their way getting the huge lead and now when you know it's a running situation later in the ball games you're still getting pounded this defense has to step up at some point and be a lot more physical D coordinators down the road that have to play this off defense man they're going to have nightmares because this unit has so much speed and so much skill that running back receiver tight end the quarterback making good decisions it is so tough trying to stop them and prevent explosive plays everything going the offense's way they're trying to ice this game late they've got a really nice lead so you just want to run the ball high percentage throws and keep the chains moving and they're doing that this has been a beautiful drive to watch offense continues to stay in a nice Rhythm here late from the gun the running back has it oh the sweet Juke gets him free and he was able to run through a tackle and they finally get him but not until he picks up the first down and you want to dominate the football game like these guys have all day dominate the line of scrimmage you know turn and hand the ball off to your running back it's a good recipe it makes every quarterback better it makes every OC better just turn hand the football off especially when you're winning the ball game from the Red Zone looking for a space and good coverage there to knock it away and deny the score I'm a little bit surprised they're still throwing the football here this late in the game with this kind of lead they're on first down taking a shot Falls incomplete but obviously they're still seeing matchups that they want to take advantage of in the back end of this defense so they're letting it Fly let's see what they've got on second down one man in the back field and he gets it pushing ahead a tough run picks up up four it's down at the [Music] 15 they're trying to eat up some clock here ninth play of the drive it's third and six they'll keep it on the ground the clock is on their side tackle is made after the first down this guy's been special today coming into this one they thought they had an opportunity really to get him going running the football and he has delivered you've seen the speed the vision his ability to break tackles well over 100 rushing yards in this game and that's why they have a nice lead here late on first and goal let's see if Alabama can get it in the end zone they'll try to get it in with the Run he works his way all the way down to the three and the defense is really you got to give the coaching staff credit because they really do Focus all season long on situ situational football with the lead late in the game we're on offense we're trying to stay in bounds we're trying to bleed the clock and after ripping off a really nice run that guy knew I've got to get down I cannot get pushed out of bounds cannot get tackled out of bounds really really nice job trying to Surge it in touchdown Bama and the punishment has been extended well let's count them up 1 two three three is the magic number for touchdowns yeah it's as easy is ABC goodness gracious he's been getting whatever he wants whenever he wants however he wants I might want to change something up or maybe focus on that guy that's getting the football a lot and scoring now they'll line up for what they hope is [Applause] automatic and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further they put it in the end zone with a 12 Play way scoring drive and Clos the deal with a three- yd touchdown [Music] run kickoff team is on the field they'll try to drive this one deep he'll start the return inside his five just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 South Florida ready to send the offense back on to the field that last Drive was promising at times but stalled out and they turned it over on Downs Jesse I think they got to do a better job here just being better early in the Downs on first down finding positive plays yeah and it's frustrating when you move the football and get stopped on the other side of the field and get no points but they've had some success and I like the aggressiveness they just got to cash some of these drives in first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning [Applause] new set of downs after that [Applause] completion they'll throw it on first down it's complete on the right side and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pickup and I know this football game is over but we got to keep fighting we got to keep finding something some kind of Rhythm in this offense something we can hang our hat on that we do really really well listen the intermediate passing game like this has taken over college football short to intermediate so if they can find some of this it'll help their offense moving [Applause] forward grabbed in the middle it's right and the ball's on the ground oh looks like the offense was able to recover it and as a defense you just want to steal some possessions create some turnovers you force the fumble but man what a break for the offense to fall back on it those are those are moments that you just get a little bit frustrated cuz it's just it's the luck of a bounce the Bulls have it with a first and 10 the aerial assault continues got it in the middle it's Alexis and he strides his way into the end zone touch down USF man he didn't just put it on his numbers if he were throwing it at a front porch he would have put that right in the keyhole what a precise pass right in the keyhole right on the button right on the face mask whatever it was great throw great timing nice job by the [Music] quarterback they'll try to attack one more on their [Applause] score and the extra point gets him a little closer at 3110 quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they finish it up with the final 30 yards coming courtesy of that touchdown pass they're down big but they'll keep fighting to The Bitter End and line up for the onside kick here few anxious moments there but the hands team true to its name as they make the grab and get the ball here comes that Alabama offense they're in command of this game now let's see if they tried to rub a little salt in the wound or happy with getting the W yeah and listen this this makes the postgame handshake fun sometimes if you do choose to rub a little salt in and keep chucking and keep scoring I'm here for it Jesse like your job is to score points it's my job to stop it keep the foot to the accelerator keep trying to play ball I agree 1,000% that's like Steve spayer back in the day when I was playing for the Gators you go and play for him because you want the opportunity to to throw the ball so when you get in the game late you're not handing it off we were beating Central Michigan by 80 something points he was still letting us throw the football it's the defense is job to stop and the defense is still fighting they they haven't had the day that they dreamed of you know talking to the coaches coming into the game like they thought they had a good plan they'd be ready to attack and and and limit some of the damage this offense has done they haven't done it today though they got to go back to the drawing board figure some things out cuz this wasn't a great day they'll run the option they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one [Applause] [Applause] [Applause]
