smt Nation we are back Nation I have breaking news for you guys here this was just sent over to me bya email from Verizon directly in regards to my plan and changes that involve me paying more for my plan and I'm assuming this is across the board so let me tell you guys what's going on uh follow us on X that's where I posted this image to kind of let the smt nation know what's going on there uh so course uh you know subscribe if you're new here and turn on the Bell notifications icon to never miss an upload from the smt all right so here's what we got from Verizon I'm going to just read from the email we are committed to blah blah blah blah blah blah Network blah blah blah Services Focus blah blah blah Innovation blah blah blah to ensure we blah blah blah and blah blah blah we want to let you know about an upcoming change to your autopay discount okay so now we we'll see what happens here while we continue to offer autopay benefits your $10 account discount will be reduced to $5 per month and your bill will increase starting on or after October 10th 2024 however your current plan price and benefits will remain unchanged you also have the option of moving to my plan you'll receive an autopa discount of $10 for every line you switch my plan blah blah blah blah blah blah awardwinning blah go to hell all right so anyways here's what I'm taking away here they want me out of my legacy plan I'm guessing this is going to go to Every legacy plan that is not a my plan plan so uh whatever that what is their new plan called Welcome unlimited and then they've got the other two plans you're good this probably doesn't impact you but because I like my old plan and I don't want them touching it they're like cool you can have it we already raised your price like three four times on that legacy plan and you know we we also changed a bunch of other stuff you know um with regards to that plan and the access and uh we don't know what else to do and uh we're just going to give you $5 less of a discount so these Verizon changes are basically giving you less Auto discount so instead of $10 it's five and they'll let you have a $10 discount if you move over to my plan and I don't I don't want my plan I like my plan now here's what I'm going to do as a customer and this is these are the things that I think I I can encourage you guys to maybe think about I'm going to Crunch the numbers right I think there's actually ways for me to pay less for Verizon service as it is even before this little change happens right it's not the end of the world that they're making me pay an additional $5 or whatever but I'm I'm I think with like total and visible and maybe kind of finding ways I I think I can make my bills cheaper now you know and uh it might be the way to go uh and it might be cheaper for me to leave the Verizon home internet and maybe try a promotional rate from a cable provider you know and and I've got several lines and I've got several 5G home internets I might do that um it's you know when you look at the economics of everything currently with inflation still elevated you know regardless of what they say core inflation all this other stuff and you take out energy and groceries I mean who the hell does that like you don't buy energy and groceries and my you know Insurance just went up like three times in the last three premiums Medical Dental um you know car home everything went up everything and we're not getting more we're getting less so so I'm going to find a way to get more and pay less right so I'm getting even I'm going to shop it's my duty as a customer to get a better deal so if you know Verizon motivated me to do that with this then that's good but uh I'm probably going to be coming out of my 20 2017 plan I think it's time I moved on uh I'm going to find a way to probably try to save about $50 in total on my entire account at a little bit of relief to my bills you know and and I think set a good example for the folks here at the smt nation where I've said many times you owe it to yourself you owe it to the industry you owe it to the consumers of the world right the us we ow to each other to continue to explore the best options a network that works for you at a price that you can live with and I I think I'm going to do that and uh you know I think I should weigh my options I think I should look at T-Mobile I'm I'm probably not going to look at AT&T right now because of the instability of their network but I think I'm going to look at T-Mobile I think I'm going to try to maybe look at some of their options as well and I'm going to find a way to save some duckets and and get what I need as a customer and I think that uh you know you got to walk it like you talk it right can't be uh can't be capping out here can't be faking perpetrating and uh half stepping as they say so yeah we'll we'll be looking at at our options we're weighing all things whether it means leaving whether it means using somebody else or whatever uh changing things up I promise you guys and I will keep you updated I will be paying less than I was a year ago and I will be paying less than I was 2 years ago I'm going to make it so that I am paying substantially less to Verizon because they want to mess with me and what I have as a customer I'm going to give you less money I promise that's my word anyways I'll keep you guys posted on
