[Music] [Music] good morning League fans and today we're going to look back at a super league game played yesterday it was London going down 34 3622 to um to visiting Warrington and we're going to hear from Paul Vaughn the Warrington player we're going to hear from both coaches Mike Eckles and Sam Burgess uh and if you're listening on the podcast this is the dog days of podcasting I think we're of a really hard block uh we probably three of the best teams in the comp so um you know just today it was just like a it was Scrappy it was ugly um probably not up to our standards uh but you know we um we'll tell the two points that's the most important thing at the end of the day yeah you tried to get going a few times and probably thought you'd found your Rhythm but then you sort of got knocked out of it again didn't you yeah yeah it was just um just unforced eras you know just a few areas in the Rock there uh that sort of released some pressure um you know them coming out their own end there we sort of release the pressure Val a couple times by penalties and all that kind of stuff so uh disappointing like I said not through our standards but um you know we'll build build towards leads next week couple more questions how was the coach at halftime uh yeah he was all right obviously let probably let too many points in to be fair um but you know he wasn't that animated you know just just wanted to get back to our our process and and what we do well obviously it's been working for us this year um with that defensive principes so um you know he wasn't too animated but um few few hard truths and a few hard points finally a few BLS missing today we don't know about George what his injury might be or whatever but you know uh Matt Duffy got interchanged in the second half the young fullback got a run uh so there's a lot of pressure for spots in this team isn't it I think it's definitely healthy competition that's um you know you see some of the best teams like wiing with their forward pack you know they they got boys fighting every week to chle performances on the field so you can get picked in the 17 and um you know healthy healthy competition brings out the best in team so uh you know we got a great roster here so um you know chance for a couple boys have a rest this week and um we'll be probably i' say full strength next week thanks for talking to us nice to be in the shade I guess thanks mate appreciate it safe joury home man you're on good morning League fans the Victoria Coach yesterday Sam Burgess he was asked what he got out of that game pretty Scrappy win for the uh the wire not a great deal I don't think we got a lot of it but um uh listen London improved a lot since we played him early in the year so got give him credit for that but we were we were way off tonight so um just I mean the players pretty disappointed with the former so but we got the two points so I'm not going to overreact um well not really but I didn't ever feel like we were in control of our own game is a question really the answer like that's just a reality we never really controlled the game how we plan so you know that's um that's probably about way for isn't it perhaps at one stage London coach Mike Eckles might have been pleased with such a game performance against a leading team but he's beyond that now and he was pretty harsh in his assessment of the missed opportunities uh that his team were responsible for there was so much so many good things out there always compounded with negative stuff as well so we just give him everything in the game two yardage penalty straight up high tackle inexcusable offside under no fatigue and then the three tries that we don't take so they're a good team and you're going to end up getting beat so I'm not worried about the score line it being a close game and competing not interested in that anymore I'm interested in was um seeing the game through in all areas it's not about winning at this point it's about um putting our game together and that's all we're asking for and if we do that we'll probably win you know a couple of games uh but we're just hurting oursel too much which is just consistent theme across the year uh it was consistent at the start of the year when we're struggling for troops we've got some players back now and near nearly healthy um but we're still doing the same thing so in terms of hurting ourselves but we're playing when we're playing well we're playing better for longer periods in game which is keeping us in gamees and giving us half a chance one notable absentee from the Warrington roster was England Captain George Williams the coach of the Wolves Sam Burgess he was asked firstly whether um the absence of Williams might have been a bit of an excuse for inconsistent performance and secondly he was asked why Williams was absent no everyone's got a job to do everyone just got the job done that's regardless of it's been our system all year so I mean you can't replace George it's impossible but I mean I've I've also got other quality blocks that should be able to get the job done um better than that so U I'm not I'm not RI ripping on the team too I like I love what they bring they got lots of energy for me but you know they know that that w't good enough tonight uh yeah he's just played a lot he's played a lot and he plays pretty tough like you know so we decided just to give him a rest later on he had a slight nigle so I just didn't want to risk it last minute call really yeah we' all played a lot Jimmy's played a lot um nich's played quite a bit and um they played big minutes uh you know yet she's played big minutes all B at different club and um I tend to give p a break but didn't work that way so but no we the guys that came in were open if you show them the three TR opportunities that we missed in the first half if you take two of them you know one of them was a big 12-point swing the notor pass is 12 point swing mudy one's a tougher opportunity the Basset one and the Nal one the the big swings you need to be taken oh you regret them all because you you've got to take your chances at this level and any one of those in isolation is absolutely fine it's absolutely fine no means to make errors or not take opportunities but when you put them together with the yardage penalties that we coughed up early in the game in in hot conditions against a good team it's um it's just too much it's too much if we'd have been that team completed 80% rather than 60% we' have taken one of those opportunities um it would have been a a real tight game [Music]
