All right back now to your weather impact forecast. Our severe thunderstorm warning continues until 530 today for Bartow and Gordon counties. But I'll tell you this storm is collapsing. We had a lot of lightning right over 75 between Calhoun and the Daville. But notice how the lightning count is coming down. That's a sign to me, the storm is likely collapsed so still a little bit of hail, some gusty winds to about 40 MPH possible, but likely the most intense part of this thunderstorm already peaked and it's on its way back down, but that is stalled right over 75. So in addition to that severe thunderstorm threat, it's a lot of heavy rain. It's not just throughout Bartow and also Gordon counties, but that heavy rain stretching further south even into Cobb County. So we'll travel down the southwester Cherokee County, southeastern Bartow County right over kind of lake, a tuna, Altuna Lake and the northern Cobb, the lightning now on this is going up. So this is an intense thunderstorm, there's no warning on it, but this is the next storm I'm watching to potentially turn strong to severe and that's right over. Kind of Kennesaw State University. Uh, Chastain Road, uh, near Kell High School and that's nearly stationary, but that will try to drift a little bit west. So that's in 75 north of the city, then 75 south of the city. We've been tracking a few scattered downpours there as well. Notice there's no one large thunderstorm but more like scattered smaller thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, lightning, they don't move very quickly, but when they're over your house, they're pretty intense. So one right there between Norcross and Snellville, right along, uh, in Gwinnett County, another one in central Dekalb County right over Stone Mountain between there and Redan and also traveling to the south of the city. We've got another thunderstorm right over Riverdale in Jonesboro, just south of the airport. There's one south of the airport, another one just to the north side of the airport, right over east point. Few more scattered downpours up 85 and 95 north of the city. So big picture, some of us are getting rain. A lot of us are not getting the rain one more thunderstorm. I don't wanna leave out is right over Troop County. This one seems to be losing some intensity. So that is good news live. Look right now, we're looking from our camera up near Truest Park north into the strong thunderstorm there in northern Cobb County. Another vantage point of the storms right now. This is downtown Decatur and that's looking into the rain shaft there in the distance that camera is pointed north in towards Gwinnett County for this evening. There is a level one threat of ST weather north and east of the Atlanta area. So I do think with scattered storms still around the next few hours, some starts of high school football games could be impacted. But the later in the games that we go, the fewer of us will end up being impacted. Couple delays possible off the top for kickoff. We should get better as we get later through the game Labor Day weekend, we're talking about more thunderstorms. The timing of those will be in the afternoons to evenings and just like today, just like yesterday, it will be these hit or miss nature storms that can turn intense. So that means some damaging winds. That means at times a little bit of hail and otherwise just heavy rain and lightning. So what you need do thinking about your weekend plans don't cancel them. Just be flexible just like today. Just like yesterday. Some of us get the rain, not everybody ends up seeing the rain out there. Here's the forecast track hour by hour showing. We'll start quiet tomorrow morning. We'll start off with a little patchy fog in places that got rainfall today. After starting off in the low seventies will come up to the nineties in the afternoon with a 30% chance of showers and thunder storms. So those showers and storms will hold off until after lunch time if you're tailgating tomorrow before the Georgia game and Clemson game, I think we're gonna be ok if you're tailgating in the afternoon before the Georgia State and Georgia Tech game, I do think some thunderstorms could impact that as well as the tour championship for the third round tomorrow. Seven day forecast nineties through Labor Day. Then here comes that little taste of fall temperatures back in the low eighties.
