KAOS On Netflix Goldblum Is Zeus Bernard's Series Review

[Music] hi and welcome back to my film and TV channel you're all staying safe and well and uh yeah series I've been looking forward to there's been a lot of hype about this one going to look at a British based mythological dark comedy yes I remember back in the day was it good Omens I thought was quite good I thought this might be something similar um not quite not quite uh similar as in uh of course uh say fantasy then but mythology shall we say uh this is created by Charlie Koval for Netflix and it's called simply chaos k a oos and it's available on Netflix from the 29th of August 2024 I'm doing this review on the 30th of August 2024 so what's it about well it's about the all powerful yet insecure God Zeus of course he starts to fear that his end for his end of his Reign once he notices a wrinkle or two on his forehead got help all of us on that basis possibly indicating the end of the world hey who knows it become paranoid and vengeful towards his leges meanwhile three humans start to discover their connections with each other and Grant conspiracies involving the Greek gods so there you go it's an eight episode series I said it's released on the 29th of August 2024 so we'll see who's in it and I'll give you my views and other people's views on this series please if you are new to the channel and you not yet subscribed if you can do so that' be fantastic I try to inform and entertain where I can and it's not just about me I give other people's views as well but I'll give you my honest opinion of things as well great to have you on board if you do check through Cliff Curtis as Poseidon David thulis as Hades Killian Scott as alus Debbie MAA as Medusa Steven delaye as Prometheus Aurora perau as ridy or Udi uh meia Butler canas Yeah Eddie is adds in this as well but we'll talk about them in a minute very good characters I like the characters a great cast uh really is I think there's no real big weaknesses in it at all perhaps oddly um the the most weaker person for me was possibly Goldblum who I do like generally but I just thought his portrayal of Zeus perhaps was a a little tone down to what perhaps someone else might have done with it I'm I'm not going to come up with names for you but yeah just uh probably one of the Lesser performances in this he does okay don't get me wrong he still does a decent job but uh others are far more effective in this and I've seen another critic or two mention uh Goldin was a perhaps a bit of a weaker Link in the whole thing but he okay it does lose its way as a series occasionally and I think it may be PRS one or two episodes too long but I found it overall very entertaining very clever I can appreciate some viewers perhaps growing a little Restless at times but I found sticking with it rewarding is as when it did sort of threaten to severe away and sort of I did threaten to lose interest uh it sort of managed to suck me back in again and I think the last certainly last two or three episodes I was totally enthralled in it but it does lose its way occasionally H throughout the series though of course not groundbreaking the mythology of Greece set in a modern world it's uh it's just really well balanced it may it may even make you want to go and delve into the original Greek mythology yourself which can't be a bad thing it's something I loved as a kid reading it although i' haven't been very good at names as you probably know if you watch my football Vlogs where I'm trying to mention players names Etc but yeah I used to love Greek mythology got a lot of books out from the library when I was a kid so yeah I did like it and say certainly makes me want to delve back into it again now I'm perhaps a bit more grown up I might be able to pronounce the name well I just say better but I probably W but uh yeah if he wants wants you to get back into Greek mythology Greek mythology then uh does a good job on that score as well I do love how some of the odd characters uh of course are played very very well by the actors but yet you've got a guy who was born to to play his role of course we've got Eddie isard haven't we is he's comfortable just playing himself in this I don't I don't see any difference between the current Eddie isard and his character in this In fairness um dress sense or his his style so yeah you'll know what I mean if you want if you watch the film my apologies Eddie but you made for this role mate uh the ending of the series and by that I mean perhaps the last 10 minutes of episode 8 uh just a little bit underwhelming for me um but I was of course I'm Keen to watch a second series just I just thought it didn't end as well as it could have done of course any series like this you've got some sort of cliffhanger which it was but uh yeah I just thought a little bit weak compared to what had gone before so my scores on this I am going to be fresh of course you I'm on Rotten Tomato I'm going to be positive on Metacritic and I'm going to give this a healthy a very healthy overall I mean certain episodes probably were touching 7 and a half uh perhaps eight out of 10 other episodes probably down five and a half sixes so I'm going to give it overall a seven out of 10 uh for this series I did enjoy it what about other people what are other people thinking well not too far a drift to what I'm thinking not Tomatoes only 13 critics he's getting 6.7 out of 10 77% positivity 10 refresh just three rotten though meta critics 69% positivity from 19 critics 10 10 were positive eight were mixed so a big chunk of mix and just one negative the audience that's all that matters really isn't it not the critics rot Tomato's audience 74% positivity and Internet Movie Database 810 scores and reviews as I'm recording this and spot on with what I'm thinking seven out of 10 so I can imagine this series will get anywhere between between 6 and A2 and 7 out of 10 now while it's while it's on Internet Movie Database impetu is it that the word we use forever and ever and ever I can't see it falling much below 6.5 or going overly higher than seven out of 10 but yeah well liked as I say as its moments where it it vears off into I'll say boredom but sort of getting a bit bit fed up at times but say it drags you back in just when you perhaps thinking know got I'll have to turn this off for a bit but no just just keep you involved I liked it I like quirky I like quirky and this is clever enough so let me know what you think guys great to have your opinions we do have sponsors of the channel at the moment I've got some little posters in the
