handle is I Amore KJ Miller and over there a couple of days ago made a video about Britney Mahomes because if you haven't seen the news Britney Mahomes has come out as a trump supporter essentially she liked one of his posts and has doubled down since there you can go read about it I won't get into it but she has essentially outed herself as being a trump supporter at the very least a trump sympathizer and as we all know she has become friends with Taylor now what degree of friendship do they have I don't know they haven't hosted a press conference about it right so I don't know how how close they are I do know they've been out and about together I do know that she was at Taylor's Rhode Island Mansion this past weekend I do know that they have been photographed holding hands and doing doing Secret handshakes and dapping it up and everything else okay so at the very least they're friendly if not friends and what I said in the video was you know it's just get it's it's getting hard to defend our girl okay um she has been accused of being a white feminist many many many a Time certainly before I came along as a fan and I fear that label is going to stick um and you know and that was my whole take and well actually I ended the take by being like look if if anyone wants to come to the comments and convince me uh that I'm wrong please feel free and a number of people did a lot of the comment section that video now has thousands and thousands of comments a lot of the comments were quite respectful and were making various points about why you know we still can potentially defend our girl in this matter and all sorts of thoughts I just wanted to hop on here and I guess share my reaction to some of the comments um just sort of share where my head is at the last time I had a quote unquote Tik Tock Scandal uh as what I did so I'm going to do it again here but before I do I guess just I guess I just want to say this hopefully as clearly as I can I am a fan of Taylor Swift's music I am a deep fan of her music and of what her music has meant to me over these last call it 9 10 months and I don't think that's going to change the music is the music and it has meant a lot to me I've enjoyed singing it I've enjoyed listening to it I've enjoyed playing it on piano um I've enjoyed interacting with other fans online like I don't I don't think that's going to change I hope that doesn't change but I'm still an independent thinking woman an independent thinking black woman who lives in a country that would just as soon as degrade me and toss me out with yesterday's trash as it would uplift me that is that is my truth and so the lens I bring to everything is that lens and sometimes I think that that gets lost on people um I think sometimes people think because I'm a fan of Taylor Swifts that my fandom looks like their fandom well if you're not a black woman moving through the world our fandom probably doesn't look the same and by the way that's okay that's no shade to you that's no shade to me that's just how I move through the world and like my my experiences and my perspective is going to be colored by that so let's just start there if for some reason you can't respect that the door's that way right like I what I won't tolerate is disrespect I'm happy to have discussion I'm happy to have debate you're looking at a state debate Champion here okay so we can debate but I will not tolerate dis disrespect I've already blocked many a person over on Tik Tok I don't think can you block people on YouTube I don't think you can but don't don't expect a response from me if if you're going to come in the comments being crazy that's just not I'm simply not going to do that um and you know and I wouldn't disrespect any of you or Taylor I don't think I've said anything dis respectful I've been very clear about my viewpoint and I never mean to be disrespectful but like my fandom the way my fandom is set up it might look a little different than yours and that's okay all right so now let's um let's just I just want to reply to some of what I've been hearing okay so we'll start with the most liked comment which is let's light a candle in our window sills for tree pain during this trying time that comment has over 5,800 likes and I want to start there because it's lighthearted yes do I think tree pay which is Taylor's publicist has her work cut out for her in this time it does sort of seem that way I mean I do think Taylor is taking some Shots by association first because of Blake Lively and that train wreck of a PR tour for her movie now because of Britney momes and her you know outing herself as a trump supporter she's just mess is kind of surrounding her and given that tree Pain's job is to make sure that she appears as positively in the press as possible and to sort of be the guarder and protector guarder that's not a word and to sort of be the guard and protector of Taylor's Public Image I'm sure she does have her work cut out for her so you know I I agree uh tree good luck girl okay the next comment I want to read this one has over 3,500 likes says it's entirely likely that PO politics hadn't come up between them I think what happens moving forward will be more telling okay um and a lot of people said something to this effect like Taylor may not have even known that old girl was a trump supporter so we really can't hold this against her like there are times where politics just doesn't come up um here's the thing I I could believe Taylor didn't know the thing is when I made this video which was this weekend I think that I think I made this video on maybe Sunday Saturday or Sunday at that moment britty Mahomes was in Rhode Island at Taylor's mega mansion in Rhode Island okay holiday house um and she had liked the Trump post weeks ago so at that moment Taylor did know now I've seen people say oh the invite was probably extended you know many many weeks ago and she wasn't going to resend it fine but what I just want to point out is Taylor knows now she may not have known then but she does know now so I agree with this poster and said saying what happens moving forward probably will be more telling because now we know that she knows um in a similar sort of take which has over 1,800 likes I think unfortunately we might all accidentally develop friendships with people without really knowing their political views a lot of the time it just doesn't come up in conversation yeah I you know I think that that's probably true if it's a peripheral sort of surface sort of friendship it may not come up so am I willing to give take Tor the benefit of the doubt on that sure sure like I said what happens moving forward probably will be more telling okay here's another take that a lot of people have liked it's got over 500 likes and a lot of people expressed in sort of different ways this person says I think if you're going to be forced to be around someone a ton it's better to make friends than make waves like I certainly don't align politically with all of my co-workers okay so essentially what this person is saying she probably did know or let's assume she did know it still makes more sense for Taylor to be friendly to her than not to be because she's going to have to be around her like she's the wife of her boyfriend's best friend right so in one way or another they're going to have to be around each other so it makes sense for her to be at least friendly if not friends I will say I agree with that I agree with that if we're talking about just like keeping the peace and being friendly I agree but the point I was specifically making in my video was that it looks like it's more than that right NFL teams have how many dozens of players most of those players have some type of partner or spouse I have not seen her kick it with I have not seen her create handshakes with I have not seen her handhold the dozens and dozens of other football wives and spouses and and girlfriends okay so to me it looks like again I don't know it looks like a real relationship slash friendship has been formed it looks like she's kind of in the Inner Circle I could be wrong about that but that was kind of my point that's what it looks like that's what it's giving okay it is giving publicly me and her are cool she and I are cool to be grammatically correct and you know given that she's on board with all of Trump's policies Because by the way the post that she liked wasn't some generic Trump post it was him laying out his very racist and very anti-immigrant agenda and she liked it okay so that's who she is that's who she let us know she is and if Taylor is cool with her then Taylor is letting us know she's cool with that it might she might not love it but she's cool with it she can kick it with her she can dapp her up she can hold hands I get to feel a certain way about that I just I do and so to this person's point I would agree if we're just talking about keeping the peace among people you know you have to be around I agree with keeping the peace but to me it looks like it's more than that it does not look like this is just somebody she's being cordial with because they happen to be in in the same space and around one another it looks like a closer friendship okay now this next comment gets to something that has been expressed a million different ways in my comment section um I don't know if this is the most liked version of this comment but it's near the top so I'm going to read it first says this may be an unpopular take but I don't choose friends based on political views I have long-term friends who have different views than mine and it's a great thing gives us great discussions okay okay here's what I am going to say on that and it kind of links back to how I opened the beginning the way I move through the world as a black woman means that the way I perceive certain things in the way that I am perceived is going to look different from a lot of people and certainly from a lot of swifties all we got to do is look through the concert footage to know that I don't look like mosts okay um what we're describing as a difference in political views is in my opinion I think that downplays things a lot what Trump has publicly supported what the Maga crowd has publicly supported is harmful to me in a real way denying my access to reproductive health care that's harmful to me particularly when we consider that black women already are two and three times more likely to die in child birth than white women taking away my ability to get access to the healthcare that I need that is life and death that's not just a difference in political views I'm not just going to see that you think that and think to myself let's let bygones be bygones no you'd rather I die than be here to live my life be here to take care of my child because you think your God told you I shouldn't be able to make decisions about my own body I'm not going to be able to kick it with you I'm not going to be able to kick it with you I'm not going to be able to say let bygones be bygones I'm not going to say oh it makes for fun discussions huh that's not a fun discussion that's a terrible discussion and frankly it's for damn sure not a discussion I should be having with anybody but my doctor so these things we talking about as if they are political views Donald Trump has said he would pardon the January 6th insurrectionists the people who literally stormed our capital and tried to undo the results of a fair election essentially trying to reverse my vote as if my vote didn't matter also Republicans are currently purging purging millions of Voters from the polls a right that my ancestors died for fought for bled for marched for these people are are gleefully going and taking away from me taking away from my parents taking away from people who look like me just so they can stay in power but you think we should just chitchat have a fun discussion that's not fun so I just want to be clear when y'all talk about oh we can have differing political views and still be friends um if I think taxes should be a little bit higher for billionaires and you think taxes should be a little bit lower for billionaires yeah we can still be friends absolutely if I think we should have more funding for libraries and you think we should have less funding for libraries yep we can kick it if I think kids shouldn't be forced to say the Pledge of Allegiance in schools and you think kids should be forced to say the Pledge of Allegiance in schools yep we can kick it do you see what I'm saying there are all sorts of issues political issues that we can be on differing sides of and still have a relationship even a friendship but once you start believing that I am worth less that I should have fewer rights that my safety is less important what do we have to talk about what do we have to discuss and and for damn sure what do I have to respect I just want to be very clear about that I don't respect it okay this next comment is kind of in that same vein but a little bit of a different flavor she says I just don't see why it matters who my friends vote for I don't agree the same with so many people I've known my whole life but they are still there for me when I need them okay this is such a privileged Viewpoint I don't know how to make that any more plain for you if you don't get it if you don't get it I probably am not smart enough to explain it to you like someone smarter than me will need to explain it but to be able to say I just don't see why it matters who my friends vote for if my friends come dap it up with me and then walk 10t into the voting booth and vote for someone who wants to actively take my rights away you don't see why that matters that tells me that you don't give a about me so how good of friends can we be how good friends can we possibly be if you would rather just so I don't know your taxes can be lower you would rather me be less safe but we're friends what what does friendship even mean to y'all like honestly that is just a privilege view because to me what that says is no matter how your friend votes you know you'll be okay so it doesn't matter right and and by the way that's a white woman who commented that and I do think a lot of people feel like their whiteness will protect them so who cares what my friend goes and votes like I'll be okay and probably you will be but I don't have that privilege so it does matter it does matter if you call yourself my friend and then go vote for someone who's making me actively less safe who's actively working to harm me that does matter we aren't friends okay another comment kind of going in a different path here this person says we can't foster change in perfect strangers but just maybe we can in friends and family willing to listen I have changed my husband from red to blue I think this is a very lovely point and I think you know a a good point and I appreciate this person saying this maybe behind closed doors Taylor is trying to evangelize to Britney momes to bring her to the bright side maybe that's what she's doing let's hope okay let's hope okay and then the final comment I'm going to address actually I can't read it to you because I blocked this person because they started getting rude and like I said I'm not the one okay I'm not the one I'm not going to go back and forth with you if you start disrespecting me I simply will not um however I didn't actually block them immediately I blocked them after the reply the first thing they said was Taylor doesn't owe you anything and if you don't understand that you're not a true Swifty now my reply to this person was essentially one you don't get to decide if I'm a Swifty or not I can be a fan and still be disappointed in who she decides to be close with um and then her reply to that to me was rude and she got blocked but I want to reply to that point first of all that Taylor doesn't owe me anything and I think she meant more broadly Taylor doesn't owe any of us anything right she's a musician she makes music that we all get to enjoy she's not a politician like like she's doing her job she's doing what she's supposed to be doing which is making the music that we all love here's the thing I think this idea that Taylor doesn't owe us anything on the one hand I get that I do get that she's a musician she makes music she makes music that a lot of us Love and Enjoy she doesn't owe us her entire personal life her entire political platform so on and so forth I get that but in Miss Americana which is something a number of people in my comments also were like you need to watch you need to watch I have watched it okay and I liked it I liked it a lot in Miss American there is a clip where she's sitting on the couch about to post something speaking out against I believe it's a congress person who's running who's been you know extremely homophobic and everything else and she says this I think that it is so frill and spineless of me to stand on stage and happy pride month you guys and then not say this when someone's literally coming for their neck she says when she's about to post against this person who is home homophobic I think it is so friend I think it is so fril and spineless of me to get on stage and say happy pride month you guys and not say this when someone is literally coming for their next now what does that tell me that tells me that Taylor understands or at least understood 5 years ago when this was being filmed understood that being an ally is not just about talking The Talk it's about walking the walk and in her case part of walking the walk is using her platform to help and stand up for the people she claims to be an ally for she understood that then now has she stopped believing that I don't know but she understood that then which tells me she doesn't think she owes us nothing at least back then she didn't think that she didn't think I don't owe anyone anything I'm out here making my music and that has to be enough that's not what she thought back then maybe it's what she thinks now and look people can change but that's not what she thought back then and frankly it's not what I think I think when you have a platform as large as the one that she has you do have responsibility to use it responsibly I I I understand some people don't think that but that's what I think and I think at some point she thought that too now I understand she's on tour currently there are a lot of things maybe she doesn't want to say uh and an effort to keep her fans safe okay but that doesn't change the fact that there is some responsibility and accountability there at least for me and then to the second half of her comment about me not being a Swifty as I said to her and I will say it here no one else gets to decide that no one else gets to decide if I'm a fan or if I'm a good enough fan I'm a fan enough of a fan no one else gets to decide that you don't get to decide that for me I will decide if I'm a fan and I will decide if I change my mind about wanting to be a fan okay but that that will be up to me and me alone okay that's it I think that's it I think that's all I have to say I I really debated on making another video on Tik Tok and I can't promise I won't you know me if it's one thing I love to do is my it's my content uh but I opted out of making another video on Tik Tok because I felt like it was just going to spiral into just like reply after reply after reply and after a certain point you kind of just want to like let what you've said be the thing you've said but I wanted to bring it here because you know this is longer form and I felt like well at least here I can say all that I want to say in one good video and maybe it'll land maybe it won't but it's true it's my truth um and that's that so if you liked this video or in general you
