what is going on college football fans today we're back with another episode of our record predictions and roster breakdown series we are doing this for every single power five team in college football before the season begins so make sure you guys subscribe if you guys are new getting close to 5 000 let's get there um around college football season and we're probably gonna do a giveaway at 5 000 Subs as well so be on the lookout for that if you guys are a college sports fan there's no better channel to be a part of than this one but let's get into today's episode which is the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets alright so we got the first real year under new head coach Brent key and he made a lot of changes to the coaching staff as well got a new OC in here got a new DC in here um got all new position coaches strength coaches like everything man he cleaned house and maybe for the better Brent key he kind of seems like he could be the guy for this Georgia Tech Team to maybe turn things around went five and seven last year after he took over as the interim head coach towards the end of last season now he won the job over and we'll see if they can improve upon that maybe make a bowl game this year they're over under win total this season placed by Vegas at this point is four and a half wins so if they repeat and go five and seven again then they will hit the over for this season a lot of changes on this team um on offense he had a lot of your top players either go to the draft to go to the NFL or transfer and that's including last year's starting quarterback which is Jeff Sims um Justin in my opinion he wasn't very good for Georgia Tech last year a lot of people may say well he had a lot of injury stuff like that I get that but still when healthy he wasn't that great he transferred over to Nebraska and Georgia Tech brought in a new transfer quarterback themselves and that is Haynes King Haynes King he was the starter at Texas A M at the start of last season he ended up being benched um a few games into the season but now he is here at Georgia Tech and he's only a sophomore I think that he could be a slight upgrade over Jeff Sims but I'm not really sure what to expect from Haynes King here at this point you could also say Zach piran might be the guy for this team as well he is redshirt freshman he did get some snaps last season um I think Zach piran could compete for the starting job as well but if I had to make a prediction on who I think is going to be the starter this season I think it will be Haynes King either way I do think it might be a slight upgrade over Jeff Sims at the running back position you are losing your top running back from last season in Hassan Hall he I believe um is in the NFL on he was an undrafted free agent um but you are returning your running back too from last season which is Dante Smith um he he was only like 100 yards under Hassan Hall I expect him to be the running back one get the most touches on this team I don't think you downgrade too much there like I think Dante Smith is still a pretty good running back here for this team now at wide receiver is where you get a lot of your changes so you lose your only good wide receiver to the transfer portal and Nate McCollum in my opinion he heads over to Chapel Hill North Carolina he's going to be catching dots from Drake may but you bring in a a couple of pretty good wide receivers as well you bring in Dominic Blaylock out of Georgia that is a really good get there um I I really like that pickup there um through the transfer portal get a guy who was recruited by Georgia has a ton of talent isn't going to get playtime at Georgia but can be um a starter here at Georgia Tech I think it is an awesome pickup you also have um Christian Leary who is the transfer from Alabama same situation really um he's probably going to be starting at the slot here um at Georgia Tech just a really good talented player got recruited by Alabama but just way down on the depth chart there but can be a starter if you go somewhere like Georgia Tech they are returning their wide receiver three from last season he actually might be the slot receiver I think Christian Leary could be playing on the outside um because Malik rather the third sorry I I can't say his last name right now okay sorry I can't pronounce his name for some reason I tried so many takes but Malik he's probably gonna be playing the slaw I just realized he is coming back his first sophomore season he actually had some decent production on Georgia Tech and he has some potential on this team as well I'd say that those would be the three starting wide receivers here for this yellow jackets team now let's talk about their offensive line because they do have some returning dudes on their team and last year they did have two freshmen starting at each of their tackle positions so I actually think that their um offensive line could be approved upon uh from last season it wasn't great last year I think it's going to improve and that's why they're all going to help the quarterback play that's gonna help their running game um all together so overall I honestly do think even though there's been a lot of changes a lot of people transferring out a lot of people transferring in I think you could say this is a slight upgrade here on offense for the yellow jackets heading into year one of Brent key now let's talk about this defense uh first off first name on the board Zeke Biggers he's going to be one of the uh better players here on this defensive line on the interior six foot six 341 I mean such a beast um of a player there on the interior um another guy is Kyle Canard who is a edge player um I think that he is going to be a key player on this defensive line you do lose a lot you lose Ely and Charlie Thomas who were your top uh linebackers from last season and they were getting sacks they combined for like over 30 tackles for loss them too they're both in the NFL now um so that that kind of stinks to lose that production but they are uh they do have Andre White who I believe is going to be a pretty good linebacker um is he going to be able to replace that production uh there he I think he is actually another transfer from Texas A M if I'm not mistaken um but I do think that he could bring some good production there at the linebacker position they also have Braylon Oliver who is a transfer from Minnesota he was the starting middle linebacker in Minnesota last year so that is another good pickup as well them too transfers their Andre White and Braylon Oliver I think are going to make a big impact on the linebacking uh uh with just tackles for loss um Blitz packages coverage all of it man I think these are two guys are gonna play the similar roles to what Ely and Charlie Thomas did last year are they going to be as good as them probably not because they were great I mean they're two NFL players um but I do think that they will be pretty good now let's talk about the secondary they actually have really good safeties I actually think their safeties might be the strongest part of this entire team this year offense or defense Le miles Brooks is going to be a stud safety on this team probably your top returning maybe your top returning overall player out of anyone on this roster definitely the defense in my opinion I think lmao's book Brooks is going to be a beast man for sure and then they do have Clayton Powell Lee who is going to be your other safety who's only a sophomore I think that safety Duo is going to be awesome and it's really going to help the back end of that defense um for sure as for the corners I I really do like KJ Wallace I think that he is going to be your corner one on this team and a lot of the other Corners you know kind of up for grabs um I'm gonna have to watch some Georgia Tech and um figure out who the other top corners are going to be on this team but overall you know team's not looking bad I'm ready to get into their schedule and see if this team can try to get to six and six try to make a bowl game this year out of the ACC all right let's get into this Georgia Tech record prediction so first up we do have Louisville at home in Atlanta on a Friday night on September 1st this is going to be a really fun game and I almost kind of want to pick Georgia Tech just for fun they're at home Louisville is losing a lot like a lot of people are picking Louisville as a big time sleeper just because they have like one of the easiest schedules in the entire country like I'm not even lying they definitely have a very easy schedule but this is one I could definitely see them dropping I mean they got a new head coach again no more Malik Cunningham I know they brought in the transfer Jake Plummer over from Cal which I think is definitely a solid pickup but that not only did they lose Malik Cunningham but they lost a lot on that defensive line let's not forget their defensive line was one of the best in the country last year I mean they were sacking uh quarterbacks left and right especially when they were playing at home and I still expect them to be really good defensively in a solid team and I think it is ultimately going to be enough to get past Georgia Tech but this is going to be a close game I don't look for Louisville to win by more than two scores um if that I think it's going to be very close throughout and I could actually see Georgia Tech winning this game and as always at the end we go over each team ceiling and floor if Georgia Tech's gonna hit their ceiling they'll win this game and we'll go over that South Carolina state I have Georgia Tech winning that game 100 should be the easiest game here on the gear then Georgia Tech has to travel to Oxford to face Ole Miss and I just don't know I don't think Georgia Tech can get this win I think Ole Miss is just going to be way too talented they're going to have Judkins Gwen Duncan Judkins back there behind Center who is going to be running all over this Georgia Tech Team because I do believe that Georgia Tech has really good safeties like I mentioned earlier um they won't get beat over the top too bad but playing in Oxford that run game is really going to open up the pass as well I just don't see Georgia Tech being able to keep up with Ole Miss in this one next up we got Georgia Tech traveling to Wake Forest definitely a winnable game Wake Forest is a team that has no more Sam Hartman is still going to be very good offensively though um I am going to take Wake Forest to win at home um I do think that that one is a winnable game for Georgia Tech um but I just still think Wake Forest is gonna have an awesome offense I do think Georgia Tech can't score on this one I think this game could be a shootout like Georgia Tech is going to be in a lot of these games I think they'll lose by it to Ole Miss kind of badly a couple touchdowns um but Louisville game this Wake Forest game I think will be closer games then they get Bowling Green at home I'm going to get give Georgia Tech the win there for sure I think that they will beat Bowling Green at home pretty easily just like South Carolina state then they have to travel to Miami um Miami not that great of a home field advantage um but Miami they just recruit so well like Mario crystal ball say what you want about him but he is a very good recruiter he has a lot of boys on that team he has a lot of men on that team I should say uh yeah Miami I I just think they have way too much talent to lose this one at home to Georgia Tech um I'm gonna take them to lose the uh to uh lose this one to Miami and now they are two and four heading into the bye week not looking too great but if they can catch somebody and win the games that they are supposed to then it is possible that they could make a bowl game like if they win the games they're supposed to against Boston College Virginia and Syracuse and then they can catch man they'll have to catch North Carolina because they're not catching Clemson or Georgia um I think in order for them to make a bowl game they'll have to catch Louisville or Wake Forest if they can catch one of them or even possibly Miami then Georgia Tech can make a bowl game but I already did my Boston College video and I did have Georgia Tech beating Boston College at home in Atlanta um I do think both these teams are going kind of you know going through somewhat of a rebuild um Boston College lost a lot um over the past couple of years and they had one the worst offensive lines last year and it did improve but it's still going to be pretty bad offensive line and I think Boston College versus anybody on the road it's going to be tough for them to get the win and Georgia Tech actually has a pretty solid team I think that they can get the win here then they get North Carolina at home and at this point in the season if they want to make a bowl game they have to try to beat North Carolina at home could be a trap game but I'm gonna take Drake May and then boys they actually get to play Nate McCollum who transferred from Georgia Tech over to North Carolina and I could see him actually having a day against this former team I know Georgia Tech fans do not want to hear that but I could definitely see it happening just because the corners on Georgia Tech not saying they're going to be bad but definitely a lot of question marks for me a lot of unknown for me um is what I'll say then they get uh two go-to Charlottesville to face Virginia and this Virginia team I just don't think is going to be very good this year like I honestly think they're going through something and it sucks over there but they're going through a really rough time um I just think they're gonna have a few down years and I think Georgia Tech gets this one on the road here at Virginia then you have to travel to Clemson I don't think this one will be too close like I think Georgia Tech could maybe hang in there through the first quarter maybe closer to the half but I'm gonna give that one to Clemson for sure especially if Garrett Riley comes out and changes the offense like he's supposed to and Clemson doesn't toy around like they usually do um I I think Clemson's going to take this one then they get Syracuse at home and I'm actually going to give this one to Georgia Tech as well I just think that Syracuse they're losing a lot they're losing Sean Tucker they're losing a lot on uh defense as well they lost a lot man just to the NFL draft and portal everything I'm gonna give this one to Georgia Tech as well here at home you know a lot of their some of their 50 50 games against teams like Boston College uh Syracuse they get them at home and I think that that's huge here for the Yellowjackets this season and then you end the year uh versus Georgia big Rival game but Georgia back-to-back Champions just did the Georgia video uh posted it yesterday so make sure you guys go check subscribe if you guys are new this is my official record prediction for Georgia Tech I have them going five and seven just barely missing out on a bowl once again but we'll see man if um coach key can keep building this team keep hitting the transfer portal um I think next year definitely could be the year that Georgia Tech gets back to a bowl game at six and six even maybe seven and five maybe it's this year because we're gonna go over each team's ceiling uh and floor as we always do and I think that this team ceiling is probably upsetting Louisville um is your best chance here and then winning the rest of these games I honestly feel like six and six might be their ceiling I think it's possible you could be Wake Forest but if you beat wake I could see you losing to uh Boston College or even a Virginia on the road would be tough um so I'm gonna say that six and six might actually be the ceiling for this Georgia Tech's team as far as your floor I think you still beat South Carolina state I think you still beat Bowling Green I think you could lose to Boston College and Virginia on the road I think three and nine is probably my floor I mean you could lose the Syracuse but if you beat Syracuse I think you beat Virginia something like that I'm gonna say three and nine is your floor I don't think they go two and ten I'm gonna say three and nine is the floor six and six is the ceiling and ultimately I have them uh going five and seven which other games I have them win in Boston College that's right five and seven is my official prediction let me know what you guys think the
