Take 5 on the Miami Hurricanes' Schedule | Sixth Ring Canes

[Music] what's up everyone Vish from the six rings K show here on five reason Sports coming at you with the take five to start your Monday morning here and today we're going to be doing the top five games for the K's football team this year a couple of weeks away from the season opening and we'll start with number five this is the can's hosting Duke on November 2nd on normally D we think basketball however this is Manny Diaz returning to Hard Rock to take on the canes bringing in Duke a lot of changes to Duke a lot of changes in Miami in the off season obviously um you know the GES have not been a successful against Duke as you think lately um Duke is probably a borderline Bowl team this year kan's have much higher aspirations but coming into Hard Rod this is directly after the FSU game so you know could be a little bit of a hangover effect but obviously losing to uh to Diaz's Duke would not be a good look for Mario Chris Ball already heading into his third year as head coach here and with a senior Laden team so this is this is going to be a big one that you know kind of needs to win there um obviously other results matter too but this would not be you know this would not be a good one for him to lose number four this one is a sneaky one we recall last year the canes against Louisville at home that shootout that they came up just short on game number four we're going at Louisville October 19th um this will be coming off a bye for the gains again history of not necessarily performing as well as you'd expect coming out of a bye but this one is a a big one um for Conference standings again ACCC with their open conference at this point there's no divisions so it's just whoever whoever finishes on Top This is a tough game this is probably the K's toughest Road game um tough place to play Louisville is bringing in has some new players as well new quarterback obviously the with a pretty big roster overhaul so we'll see how this goes this is also a lead into the FSU game so again could be a little look ahead situation coming off a bye but still a good opportunity for a key Road win but it will not be easy that takes us to number three Labor Day weekend this is the game that people are most looking forward to now it's the opener at Florida in the swamp um I mean I mean we can go through is this too low to be number three on the list I don't think so because Florida is not good and that's what kind of lowers it a little bit normally this would be one or two you know oscillating between this and Florida State but given the state of the Florida program this goes into a you know a rivalry game that could go either way to if The KES lose this it's not that the kinges can't lose this because obviously they can but if they were to lose this game it would speak to kind of the despair of the K's program they should not be losing the for at this point um but that is the opener it's Labor Day it uh weekend that's Saturday at Gainesville first time we're going to see cam Ward this revamped defensive line that's receiving for with Sam Brown in there now as well got a lot of weapons big opportunity here Damen Martinez at the bat and we're going to see if the canes can actually uh go in there and pull off this Victory um which I think everyone is kind of expecting at this point that's number three now down to the top two and number two is Virginia Tech the Rivalry back after the ACC tried to cancel it inexplicably as they added Cal Stanford and and me they got a they got a doover they took it unfortunately this is on a Friday it is a home game though at Hard Rock 7:30 on Friday September 27th Virginia Tech again one of those teams that could creep into your ACC Championship discussion kanes cannot afford to lose them at home again it's a big rivalry game um at this point the games would have gone to gamesville gone to Tampa played USF and also played Ball State and Bon cookman at home so this will be their fifth game um they still will not have left the state though because those two Road games us have in Florida are in state so this will be a fifth game in the state of Florida again Friday night a little bit of a short week coming off USF but you know they'll be favored going in a home here again if you're trying to win the ACC and again with the new format there's an added emphasis on winning the conference is what happened to Florida State last year ain't going to happen this year it's an automatic bid and the playoffs and the top four rated Conference champions get the top four season which will almost certainly be the four power four conference winners so you know those are pretty clear goals here hard to win the ACC if they can't take care of Virginia Tech at home and this is certainly a losable game Virginia Tech a very good team so that is number two and number one I mean this point can't figure it out I know what to tell you Florida State Hard Rock stadium Saturday October 26 right damn in the middle of the schedule and uh and yeah um they're favored to win the conference in the preseason I think that's optimistic a lot of new parts on on their team as well they're actually getting started a week early so that's this weekend at Georgia Tech uh not at Georgia Tech playing Georgia Tech in Ireland um so that is that's where Florida state will be obviously The KES would have been very much tested at this point as well as the seminal so home game Hard Rock stadium obviously two years ago Florida State wiped Flor with the canes um last year the canes gave him a tough game in Tallahasse but Florida State obviously prevailed um so be looking to end what is now a three game losing streak cuz um M Diaz is last year the canes uh fell at B state to a pretty wretched uh FSU team so fsu's won three in a row big game here and if the canes win this they are most likely you know barring a lot of upsets they're going to be in let's just say Prime position to to make it to Charlotte for the ACC Championship game and if you win that likely a top four seed in the playoffs in a p so that is the number one game on the schedule just to recap number five Duke at home November 2nd number four at Louisville October 19th number three UF in Gainesville on Labor Day weekend number two September 27th Virginia Tech on a Friday night home and number one no surprise
