Islands CAL - part 4

[Music] okay okay we're on to day four of the island crochet Al whoop whoop uh now I'm going to show you today half D the half double crochet linen Stitch and that's actually the last part that I'm going to show you of the blanket we are moving on up our blanket here we've done this and this and now we're up to this here and then after that it's just more repeats of either the same pattern or the other patterns included in the design okay so today we start here I finished last with a half double crochet row and I'm not going to cut the yarn because we are continuing now to work with row with color a like always in the linen Stitch bits and we're going to do Row one of the half double crochet linen Stitch okay so we start by chaining two stitches and that's just to lift us up uplifting stitches and these do not count and now we're going to start and we're going to do one half double crochet into the first Stitch of the round that is if you count here you do not work into the chains you go into the first Stitch and do one half double crochet there and then you're going to chain one Skip One Stitch and do one half double crochet into the next one chain skip half chain Skip and half double crochet so this is the way we're going to continue all through the row and as you can see these make bigger um holes than this here actually okay and we do this Two Stitch repeat all throughout one half double crochet chain one Skip One Stitch and continue and repeat and we do this until we get to the last Stitch of the row where we will put one half double crochet because we do not have an even number in this blank key whoop like so [Music] okay oops I forgot the chain here half double crochet chain and Skip double chain skip of double chain and we're going to skip one and do one here into the last Stitch of the row and not into these two half two chains here we did at the beginning of going to do it into our last half double crochet from last row like so and that was Row one in the half double crochet linen stitch on to row two and we are going to chain two and these do not count and then turn and we're going to do uh one half double crochet here into the first into the first Stitch here like so and and one half double crochet into the first chain space so that's two in a row got that was not the best part to have a knot in my yarn oh well okay and chain one and then we're going to skip the half double crochet and go into the the chain space okay so it's always chain [Music] one and yarn over and go into the next chain space and do 1 half double crochet there so this is very really very easy and nice and we just keep going like this till the end of the row I hope your blankets are coming along nicely if you're following along with my rhythm well that's unlikely I mean it's a rather Fast Pace if you're doing a blanket but you know know okay we're almost at the end here oops almost at the end and when we get to the end we're going to do one half double crochet into the last chain space here and then one half double crochet into the last Stitch of the row okay so that's the first two rows of the half double crochet linen Stitch and now we're just going to repeat rows one and two again and again total of nine rows I just do nine no it wasn't nine was it wasn't six in that one sorry I'm just gonna uh uh no seven rows sorry we did nine rows in the single crochet but total of seven rows here now in the half double crochet because obviously those makes for bigger round rows and I'm just going to show you how you continue we're always switching in between this here of having two double crochets here at the beginning and end or just one uh one one half double crochet and then a um a chain okay and as always we do two chains here when we turn we do not work into those and now we do here one half double crochet this is now like Row one again we do one half double crochet into the first Stitch chain one skip the Stitch and go into the the chain space okay I hope that's all very clear this is a lovely part to hook gun so now I'm just going to continue and do seven rows here total this is Row three okay just this just always alternating between Row one and two okay so I finished all seven rows here of the half double crochet linen Stitch so it's supposed to look like this you guys and next up is one half double crochet row and this one is actually exactly the same as we did here after the single crochet linen Stitch we're just going to but in we're just going to do two chains and turn and not work into those chains always working the half double crochet rows from the back you you guys remember and now we're just going to start and do two double crochet half double crochets into each and every chain space of this row so this is very nice and easy except when the yarn splits and so this is the same here as after the other linen Stitch and you can decide on either just using the half double crochet linen Stitch or the normal single crochet Lin Stitch or both like I did in mine um this one actually goes a bit better maybe with the theme of the pattern but it does give a more open weave as well so I didn't want to have too many parts in this but you can Mi mix and match this any way you like of course remember here at the end of this half double crochet row we're going to end we do two double half double crochets in the last um chain space and then we YN over and do one half double crochet to finish up here the row okay so like I was saying this is now all done but I'm going to show you here and these are the this is the beginning of the the blank kit now you can either follow my the pattern and continue in adding more of the patterns we have here the silhouette pattern which is this one oops which is this one here and then we have the waves which are quite fun actually and they come in both reverse and the middle bit there are many bits in the pattern and you can of course follow the pattern but if you don't have the possibility to to purchase the pattern then you can easily use the one the parts I've showed you here and just continue and repeat these as you please okay
