[Music] what's good Alabama fans coming up on today's show we're going to be breaking a couple things down for you guys 247 Sports has been ranking their most valuable players for Alabama going into this 2024 season they listed Kaden Proctor on that list and we're going to talk about his impact going into year two as Alabama's left tackle Phil Steele also put out his personal pre-season rankings we're going to break that down for you guys there are also some SEC betting odds for secc teams to make it into the first year of the uh 12 team college football playoff so we're going to break all those down for you guys but before we get into it I want to break last month's record for Subs uh we want to get more than that June sub number we had 180 last month we're already at 128 for the month of July we're to a very very hot start so we appreciate you guys for subscribing right here to the Alabama football report so if you haven't already make sure you guys are subscribed right now that's youtube.com rolltide TV all right 247 Sports ranked Kaden Proctor is Alabama's number two most important player going into the 2024 season now I've talked about Kaden Proctor a lot you know when it comes to his freshman season he was not that good you know he struggled with his weight you know that Alabama wanted their offensive line to just be really really big last year and I think that hindered Kaden Proctor a lot gave up 12 sacks last year that's not very good 23 hurries is even worse now it didn't help that Jaylen milro you know hold held on to the ball a little bit too long sometimes but when you have a freshman left tackle that does not help him at all and um new offensive coach Chris kovich has noted that Kaden Proctor coming back to Alabama from Iowa has been working with the second team so far this is what he told Ryan Fowler on his radio show um just a couple weeks ago he said we've talked about all those things he came back and he's with the twos right now and he rotates with the one sum uh in the summer time or in the summertime it's it's a good time to move those guys around and get guys comfortable on the left and the right side we'll have guys working Center and guard there's no depth chart during the summertime it's just making sure guys can play multiple positions but also make sure that you get the continuity going everybody here is very competitive everybody wants to be the starter we told these guys we're going to move you we're going to move you around when we get to fall Camp the best five guys are going to be on the field now this is roughly what Alabama's depth chart looks like on the offensive line from on on a day obviously Parker brailford did not play on a day but if he was available he definitely would have been the starter on aay James brockermeyer obviously gone off to TCU but you look Elijah pet was at that left tackle position I thought on a day he did pretty damn well and then wilin forby was also at that right tackle spot I thought he played really well as well so if Kaden Proctor is starting off with the twos I understand he said there's no dep chart during the summertime but you know there's that there's that thing when you leave you know you come back it's the team chemistry stuff is he going to be able to work his way back to the starting rotation because if not I think Alabama is pretty solid with Elijah Pritchett over there at left tackle and will con forby at right tackle we will see obviously as you know fall Camp rolls around and possibly even into the season that left tackle position could be you know up for grabs again those two battled last year for that left tackle spot so we'll see what goes down when it comes to the offensive line and uh Kaden Proctor but you know there's going to be a lot of work for him going into year two so I want to hear from you guys right now in the comment section at the pinned comment do you think Kaden Proctor will be Alabama's starting left tackle during week one I kind of think by by the time that week run rolls around he's going to be uh solidified at that starting left tackle position but I want to hear from you guys because there are a lot of different opinions on this type why for yes or in for no in the comment section like I said it is the pinned comment so if that ad comes here on YouTube that's totally fine you can ignore it go down there go down there to the pin comment and let me know you think Kaden Proctor will be starting for Alabama at that left tackle position in week one this is what 247 Sports said in their article about Kaden Proctor will there be any lingering effects from the turbulent off season did missing spring practice matter and which Kaden Proctor will suit up for Alabama the one that struggled early last season or the one uh that got on a roll late if you want to be skeptical of him there's plenty of angles to attack but with that being said most freshmen get better as sophomores and it's hard to imagine he didn't learn a few lessons over the last 12 months now going to that specific uh uh point about him struggling early and then getting on a roll late that's pretty damn accurate now you know Kaden Proctor early on was not very good gave up in the first seven games seven sacks one hit 11 hurries the Run block grade the pass block grade were not very good at all but then you look to the last seven games you know still still five sacks there but two of those sacks came against Michigan when we know he had an issue with his ankle had a ligament issue with his ankle so give him a little bit of Grace on that still going out there and competing in a very very big game but you can see down below the Run block and the pass block grade got a whole lot better about 13 points better in the Run block game and then was that like n nine points better in the in the uh pass block game or seven points I can't math um Ken Proctor did a whole lot better in the last half of last season and then unfortunately that Michigan game rolled around and you know he did not play his best game at all during that game but you know through if you want to go the last six not counting that Michigan game Kaden Proctor was getting better and better and better every single week so the amount of time that I complain about Kaden Proctor you know not being very good as a freshman last year he was a freshman and there are things you need to work through and I think this year being with Coach cap getting some of that weight down I think he's going to be a whole lot better and I think at the end of the day this is what you know week one I think this is what that starting offensive line is going to look like Kaden Proctor starting there at that left tackle position I think it's going to be between Elijah pritchet and wilin forby at the right Tackle Spot flip a coin whoever you want there I think Alabama's pretty solid there um but Kaden Proctor going into year two it's going to be very big and very pivotal for him you know if he can get better and you know just you got to be able to protect Jaylen milrose backside so I love Kaden Proctor I hope he does a whole lot better in year two Phil steel has released his preseason top 40 rankings for college football and he's got Alabama at that number seven position and we'll go into what you know the the top 10 looks like I've got a little some complaints about it but for the most part I think it's you know reasonable that Alabama is at that number seven spot got Georgia at one Ohio State it to me personally I'm probably flip-flopping those I think Ohio State probably has a better roster going into the season but I think Georgia has the better coach at the same time I think Oregon sitting there at three is probably solid same thing I think they're going to roll this year here as well Texas coming into the SEC sitting there at 4 you know it could be questionable there I really don't know why he has Penn State at number five I Penn State to me is just like you know they're good they they can't beat Michigan they can't beat Ohio state that that's Michigan's uh Penn State's biggest thing and then Notre Dame sitting there at 6 there's been a lot of Buzz around Notre Dame I think you know they're kind of the same way they're a 10- win team and you know they might lose their bowl game that's just how Notre Dame is I do think Alabama sitting there at number seven is fine you know you could maybe put some different teams they could be all the way up to five if you want to but then I do like Utah sitting there at 8 and then Michigan at 9 and then Miami is sitting there at 10: so I want to hear from you guys one more time in the comments section what is your pre-season ranking for the Crimson Tide going into the 2024 season let me know in the comments comment section where you would rank Alabama going into the 2024 season and I want to give some shout outs every single time you subscribe here to the Alabama football report there is a chance that you can get shouted out as a new subscriber so Jake d moris q jju t pil G to player we appreciate all you guys for subscribing right here to the Alabama football report we got so much stuff planned for you guys I'm so excited for the season to start it's about over a month and a half away from Alabama football really getting started so make sure you guys are subscribed right here to the Alabama football report there have also some been some betting odds that have come out for SEC teams only um and their chances to make it to the college football playoffs and Alabama was listed at a plus 120 Underdog to make the playoffs in 2024 this is the top 10 for the SEC only it's not the rest of the country just the SEC Georgia I think that's pretty solid sitting there at minus 600 Texas though we'll see how they are you know Texas is always very very wishy-washy they lose against teams that they should not get beat against and then Old Miss I really like Old Miss at minus 160 I think they're a very underrated team that not enough people are talking about coming into the season they did a lot in the transfer portal as well as last year's recruiting class and let's be honest is much as uh We complain about Lane kein a lot I really do like Lane kein LSU sitting there at four at plus 110 I I don't know about you but I really I don't have faith in LSU I don't have faith in what their quarterback Situation's going to look like I don't have faith in their defense so I don't think LSU should be that high but Alabama sitting there at plus 120 you know the biggest thing with Alabama is obviously Nick Sabin retiring and kayin abore coming in but kayin abore was last year's head uh um coach of the year so you know you obviously cannot say that you are upgrading at the head coaching position do not get me wrong but kayin abor is probably the best head coach that Alabama could have hired and then Missouri sitting there at 6 Texas A&M at seven I think Tennessee is a little bit low I think they're you know going to be pretty decent I really like Nico I am Mala uh at quarterback I think he's going to do really really well in their offensive scheme at tenness and then Oklahoma sitting there at 9 and then Auburn at 10 at plus 800 now I think going into this season winning it all winning the national championship should only be a hope you should only hope that Alabama can get that far especially in the first season with kayin abore I mean could you imagine just the the blowup of the minds of college football fans if Alabama loses Nick Sabin and then immedi medely goes on to win the national championship I that would be insane that would be amazing but I just don't see that necessarily happening you can wish for it to happen absolutely I I hope it's going to happen but you know you can't really set that as an expectation and going into the college football playoffs this year it is the first year of the college football playoffs and added on top of that the SEC got even tougher this year and it wasn't even just the addition of Texas the addition of Oklahoma there's no more East and West conferences so it's going to be the top two teams in the SEC are going to go on to play in the SEC Championship game against each other so you know we've seen years in the past where you know the two of the top teams might be in one division but then you know you got another team in the other division that's just the best in theirs they're not better than the second team in the other uh Division and that kind of screws them a little bit so it's going to be the top two teams in the SEC to play for the SEC Championship and you got to think in a 12 team playoff the team that wins you know is going to get that automatic bid the team that loses I mean if it's a close game that second team that loses the SEC Championship probably going to get in too so you know is there a chance that the SEC gets three teams into the college football playoffs I would not rule it out I wouldn't rule it out for really any conference um especially the SEC and the Big 10 getting a third team in at some point but I think making the playoffs just in general making the playoffs should be the expectation for Alabama I know that is their expectation and you know you don't have to you know get that by week in the first round of the playoffs I think it's pretty reasonable for to expect Alabama to make the playoffs and host you know that first round home game maybe even going a road on the road but I think really the expectation should just be to make the playoffs this year for the Crimson Tide so what is the percent chance that you think Alabama makes the first year of the 12 team playoffs let me know right now in the comments section [Music]
