uh please subscribe to our Channel and uh uh hit the like button what do you get when you mix a Teen Idol a singer and a Star Trek actor the incredible James Darren who left us at the age of 88 his remarkable career journey is a story worth telling and James Darren the actor who trans ition from Teen Idol to renowned singer and accomplished television and film actor has sadly passed away at 88 he died on Monday Cedar Cai Hospital in Los Angeles due the congestive heart failure uh born James William maralani in Philadelphia Darren started his acting career with a minor part in the 1956 crime drama rumble on the docks he went on to secure this supporting roles in less prominent films before singing the theme song for Gig which paved the way for his prosperous singing career Darren appeared in the 1961 World War II classic The Guns of Navarone alongside Gregory peek and David M he portrayed Spyros the youngest member of a covert Alli the Commando team dispatched to destroy a pair of German heavy artillery guns in 1966 he took on the role of Dr Tony Newman in the irn Allen TV series
