Is Lamar Jackson a real Quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens?

ladies and gentlemen want to tell y'all boys Lamar Jackson is not a real quarterback now before all you Ravens friends come at me with pitchforks let me explain I'm a huge fan of Lamar Jackson athleticism and his electrifying presence on the field when it comes down to being a real quarterback there C there is a certain criteria that I believe he does not meet this man got carried last year by his defense this man got the most tainted MVP award last year do you believe Lamar Jackson should have won MVP I mean at the end of the day he got MVP but did he earn MVP got carried by his defense when he met Elite competition he folded I don't know how many interceptions he thrown against kity Chiefs defense now I know they had top three defense in the league but he was thrown into triple coverage the guy couldn't sit back in the pocket and make consistent throws he's known for his legs but when it comes down to pocket presence he is not an elite quarterback he's not his pocket presence it's important for a quarterback to have their pocket presence they should be able to navigate the pocket avoid Pres and still make throws downfield Lamar Jackson's style of play is based on heavily on his running abilities often leaving the pocket to create plays this may be you know effective it's not long lasting it's not longterm in the NFL teams have figured out how certain how to contain him and force him to stay in the pocket he struggles to make throws under pressure and often resorts to running instead of finding open receivers one of the key factors that separates Great quarterbacks from average ones is their ability to adapt to different situations Lamar Jackson style play relies heavily on of speed and athleticism but what happens when he faces a defense that that can contain him we saw in 2020 playoffs against the Titans able to shut him down in the running game and force him to pass resulting in a loss for the Ravens a real quarterback should be able to adjust their game and find success even when his strengths are taken away he barely won a playoff game against the Houston Texans last year so we can't even count that on his on his resume I mean the Houston Texans I mean that's my team the Houston Texans last time they reached the playoffs was 2019 you're facing a rookie quarterback a rookie head coach that's supposed to be a w and I believe they was losing going to halftime if not tied now the common arguments is that some of you may argue that Jackson's MVP season back in 2019 proves that he's a real quarterback however let's not forget that his MVP run was heavily relying on his running abilities and while he did not have some impressive passing statistics there are often the result of blown coverages due to teams trying to contain his his running game and if you look at his second MVP season in terms of passing let me just go to that real quick so we on espn.com this is a 2023 season a number one we have Tua with the most passing yards of the 2023 NFL season at 4,624 yards at number two jar G at 4500 Dak Prescott at 4500 Josh Allen at 4,300 where is Lamar Jackson I repeat where is Lamar Jackson Lamar Jackson has people like Jordan love above him Jordan love I know he's been in the season in multiple years but his 2023 season was his first technical first year he got Jordan love throwing over 4,159 yards you got another rookie quarterback of CJ strad above Lamar Jackson at 4,100 you got Baker Mayfield at 4,444 excuse me 4,44 Trevor Lawrence Stafford is a dog Sam how has more yards then Lamar Jackson Sam how then you got David Carr or Derek Carr whatever that guy name is Jaylen herdz had won a terrible season last year and then finally finally Lamar Jackson so people like you have two rookies above Lamar Jackson's head and people like Sam H how and somehow Lamar Jackson Lamar Jackson got MVP he's not even top 10 passing yards but we got to go to Russian right he got the MVP because of Russian right okay so if we go to Lamar Jackson Russian where is he there you go he's number 22 on the list at 821 yards rushan I mean that's a lot of yards of course but he's not a running back he's a quarterback so my point is Lamar Jackson now has dck Henry back in the backfield instead of adding offensive weapons and adding pieces for Lamar Jackson to throw to they add Derrik Henry now unless they're going to throw option to him I don't see how it's going to work but we're going to see against the Kanas City Chiefs the Kanas City Chiefs on the other hand has gotten better they signning boys their defense is top three in the league they got Juju Schuster I know I'm butchering last name but they got Juju back on the roster uh we saw what they did with nobody on their team I mean of course there's somebody's but no big names on a Kanas City Chiefs roster and now they only got better so my prediction is you know the Ravens of course they have the perception of beating the Chiefs in the regular season but when the money's on the line the Ravens are no call no show in the playoffs so the Ravens somehow win don't get too high on our W we've seen the Ravens last year go on a crazy streak but choke in the playoffs I we've seen the Ravens have an unbelievable season last year they destroyed the 49ers they destroyed Elite teams last year in the 2023 season but they folded in the playoffs and I'm not going to count that W against the Texans is that Lamar Jackson's first W in the playoffs against the Texans come on now I we really about to count that Lamar Jackson is not a quarterback he is a running back unless he goes out there into the 24 25 season and goes crazy and not top five top 15 in the league he needs to be at least top 10 if you Mr MVP how are you top 15 you got people like Baker Mayfield you got people like Jordan love and CJ straw rookies passing more than you and you the MVP I need you to sit down in the pocket now there's there's sightings of him I think he lost at least 10 lbs so he's getting serious about his crafts his god-given body um I hope he took this offseason and stud he game film those multiple interceptions that he threw against the Chiefs triple coverage just terrible terrible read on defense the game was close but he blew it there was multiple opportunities the Ravens could have got that game but Lamar Jackson when the money was on the line once again he folded Under Pressure so I don't think Lamar Jackson is a real quarterback from what I've seen from the ey test I'm going to have to see more footage of him actually sitting down in the pocket sitting down on his passes and making accurate reads and throwing dots out there I haven't seen Lamar Jackson throwing dots let me know if the comments if you think Lamar Jackson is a real quarterback if you think the Ravens are going to be the Chiefs AC pick signing out he just a great allaround tight end hey Lamar how do you feel to have his new back in the building have the old Snoop oh man it's great to have my brother back in the building man great to see him man you know cut his hair a different approach look look a little like mature like you know but it's great to have my brother back man definitely two-part question um how much of a relationship if you have any with Patrick Mahomes and just what do you see from him on the field that makes him unique and and what do you take away in his game I don't I don't have a relationship with him um I don't think I have a relationship with any quarterback in the league um I don't take anything from any anything from him you know I just play my game um but he's a great quarterback I'm going say that he's a great quarterback um he has the accolades to prove it um but man he just he made he made things happen on the field that make his team successful I can say that Mar we what's the biggest challenge to playing out there in Kansas City we know it's going to be amped up week one but historically you know played out there you played some great games out what's the toughest thing about playing there um we just not in front of our crowd um the the whole game it's not like the whole Raven flock there but it's I know it's our fan base is always traveling with us um but it's just not our crowd that's all that's the biggest difference and I'll say that how you handle the noise how do you as a quarterback handle all that noise just like any other environment you know just stay poised um stay locked in listen to the cars um walk up to the line when I make my checks and let my line know what we're doing stuff like that what was your reaction when you saw this game come up on the schedule you knew you were playing the Chiefs but for the NFL to make this a season opener means they obviously think a lot about this match up uh I'm approaching like any other game you know but it's the start of the season so we got to make a great impression for the first game of the season when you say you're approaching like any other game Revenge won't be on your mind at all and I'm sure it'll be on the Ravens Lo this SP I mean any game I play and I feel like it's a Revenge game so I'm not just going to look at this game like um a Revenge game anybody we play no matter if we beat him or lost to him prior uh previous years I just want to win you know pretty much have winning records against pretty much all the teams and quarterbacks Mahomes and Kansas City is the one team that's kind of been the opposite a little bit does that serve any motivation for you at all like I just said that's pretty much similar to that question um I'm approaching every game the same way you know I want to win regardless went lose a draw previous times but every game motivation to me what what are your emotions when you put in the work that you have this off season be 4 days away from the season kickoff just how would you describe your emotions I'm ready to go I've been going against my guys for weeks you know it's time to go against someone else Mar's always been about the Super Bowl for you last year you go as far as you have to this point in your career did is there anything you take away from that run going into this season oh man just you know we was close we was close but we got to get back where we was and like I always say finish but it start week one it start Thursday night they glitched you guys a lot I think 43 or so% of the of the time your pass I was curious like when you look back and like what's the challenge of dealing with that and and what did you kind of take away moving forward to you know this next game U man it was all type of things that went on in the game that we felt like we that could have RI for us went our way um getting the ball out um certain certain things that went on like we we missed certain certain things throughout that game and it was all type of things I just can't pinpoint them blicking us cuz we we picked them up times you know here and there all type of things we could have did better that game Mark kind of play off cordell's question I mean sometimes hear Ravens fans say this team can't prove anything to us until January until the playoffs but I know you guys can't afford to really think of it that way so I mean what what do you want to get out of the regular season um we got to win we got to win regular season games to get to January you know we can't just go to going into the season and go what how many 5 and 12 not we're not going to be in the playoffs you know so we got to go into every game trying to make it to the playoffs you know playoffs on our mind but at the same time we got to win this game that's ahead of us where do you feel like you've come along the most this offseason in terms of your your handle before the snap I know Todd monin has done a lot with you know empowering you to make protection change you know using your Cadence getting in out of plays where do you think you've come along the first uh I feel like I'm way ahead of about than I was when I first got in the system last year um very comfortable um our guys got young guys on the offense those guys are getting a lot comfortable feel like we we way ahead of where we were um prior to uh man count with all the turnover Lamar on the offensive line how confident are you that they're ready to step in and it will be seamless from what it was before I'm very confident in our guys man they've been busting their behind um each and every practice you know um preseason they've been battling um I believe our guys ready two more seems like every time you're watching any sports you're seeing the them hype up the game and it's the always pictures of you and Patrick Mahomes is kind of headlining this game what do you take from like people saying that this could be kind of the the next great quarterback rival uh to be honest I don't really pay attention to it like I see a lot of stuff on social media but I don't I try to shy away from the the sports stuff cuz I know they going to be talking about the Ravens a lot um but I don't I really don't PIR no mind cuz I I just want to play football really don't matter Lamar you had Rashad healthy for most of the camp uh what kind of expectations do you have for him considering just you know how how good you guys looked at times last year I believe he's going to have a great year a great year uh uh sneaky year you know people a lot of people be sleep on him but I believe he's going to have a great year thank you larus appreciate y'all
