seen this script before top 10 team goes into a cauldron of emotion on the road and just hopes to be able get out and tell about it as we see the number seven team in the country the Penn State Nittany Lions taking on the 23d ranked team in the land the Miami Hurricanes glad to have you with us for EA Sports college football I'm reys Davis David po Jesse Palmer with me in the booth guys we are ready to Tee It Up and the nitty Lions will kick it away to start us off not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair [Music] catch first down here for the [Music] offense out of the gun they give to the back tackle is made at the 28 after a pick up of three you know I think a big part of this isn't necessarily scoring a touchdown on that plate but you're just trying to get your offensive line in the rhythm of the game let those Big Fellas get lathered after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven power football with the Run he maybe gets a yard they'll Mark him at the 29 third and six and they'll need a big play here on this opening drive to the air it's Ward throws to the tight end how about that play to get a hand in there and for incompletion well they try to throw forth there on third down on the opening drive of the game they don't get it but let's punt the ball away let's trust our defense and guys let's also trust this home field advantage and the crowd to get loud and make it real difficult on our opponent he make the Stop and that is exactly what you want out of your punt cover unit offense getting set for first [Music] down looking for a gap it's Singleton knock down after getting six all the way out to the 34 yd line I know sex the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points now the quarterback changing the original play call he wants to throw here on second down he makes a catch find some fresh air big big gain on that one as he steps out of bounds with a first down well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game they just changed the dynamic of this possession in a heartbeat and now it's first and 10 from inside the Red Zone got it behind the line it's Singleton touchdown nitty Lions What A Catch and run for six and what a nice start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense lining up to tack one more onto that lead and with the extra point they get the first seven of the game quick strike offense on that three-play scoring drive and they finish it up with a 15 yd scoring toss he'll bring it back looking for help and the coverage team gets the returner on the [Applause] ground here comes the hurricane offense looking to gather a little more strength the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no rhythm in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 looking downfield it's Ward fires to the wide out he got a hand in there knocks it away incomplete Zone coverage that time in the cornerback a nice job with his eyes he's watching the quarterback he sees the ball thrown so he knows exactly when to break on it he's able to break it up for an incompletion and you don't want to start this game with two straight punts big third down opportunity coming here might be looking to run fires downfield oh picked off the sudden change on the turnover man he was looking for Running Room couldn't find that but they'll have it at the 22 well he started rolling to his right and because of that it allowed the defender some time to close the distance between himself and the intended target and his speed got him to the point and he was able to come away with the pick the NY Lions going back to work on offense now that last Drive really productive David wound up with a touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this off defense to change too much Reese they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything working I would expect them to keep pushing this ball downhill and just imagine if they could put another touchdown on the board right here they could capture so much momentum in this game with backto back TDS going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down he's looking to throw b a little time let's Let It Go P near the sticks it's fliming touchdown pen state that is the ultimate grabbing go for the score quarterback's abilities to read the field is huge and also the anticipation the timeing to be able to throw the football Jesse and hit a guy in stride so he can get run after the catch and get in the end zone that was a nice job by the quarterback yeah it's critical David listen a lot of times touchdown passes aren't thrown into the end zone you've got to read the coverage hit the open guy and let him do the rest and he passes on the Touchback here he comes really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the [Music] 19 and here comes that Miami offense back onto the field to say this has been a slow start is a bit of an the ball scor free defense covering it up and not letting the offense get it back it's a turnover I'll tell you honestly I don't know what that player could have done to hold on to that football that Defender absolutely popped him he knocked him into next week there was no chance he was holding on to that ball couldn't ask for better field position for this offense going to run it it's Singleton blast is way ahead yeah but not much room a pick up of one to the 24 oh man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack looking for a man it's Allard unloads to the wide out it's complete they make the stop at the 5yd line but they've got it first and goal and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the car and that's a great play by the defensive end the best athletes on the field play defensive end you can ask anybody yes I agree J I agree you see they agree with me same thing but you watch him get off the football make the play that's why you put your athletes there they get him on the ground at the three yd line but this defense is taking some punches now third and goal is where offensive coordinators earn their keepy on the option now the pitch just hammer it with this running back again and he knowses his way into the end zone well just as you would expect that didn't take very very long it didn't Reese and you've got to make great field position count when You' got opportunities you got to pay it off and the offense took advantage scoring a touchdown didn't have far to go but they got the points they needed and the extra point is [Music] true loons to 21 2 Miami Z kickoff team is on the field they'll try to drive this one deep set kick off that ball skips through the end zone it's a touch back and they'll take over at the 25 yd line back at it to open the quarter with this first down play DB's lock up tight on the receivers comes out throwing on first down can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that football and it'll be second down he didn't have a whole lot of time to get rid of that one the defense was all over him right after the snap no wonder that thing fell incomplete last incompletion leaves him still sitting at their own 25 with second and 10 they'll turn to Martinez he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple goodness gracious if you blinked you missed it horrible blocking up front Defender gets in there so fast did he line up in the back field now facing a third and long scanning the field it's Ward and the pass it's picked off going the other way and he's got room he'll finally go out of bounds but he was showing off all the skills after that interception and this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision making hen State sends the offense back onto the field how about the way they attacked the last time they had the ball mixing run and pass and winding up in the end zone Jesse that's why recruiting is so important they've got weapons at every skill position on the field any of these guys is dangerous if they touch the football let's see what they do on this drive David and so Palmer I got to tell take away something I can't let them have everything and have success I got to be aggressive against the run or play for the pass I can't give them everything snagged in the middle it's Singleton touchdown nitty Lions what a grab and go for the score this guy is officially a problem his second receiving touchdown of the game nice job by the offense dude if I've got a matchup I like continue to pick at it until they stop and the extra point makes it 28 to nothing about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown Z and he hauls it in and everybody's on the edge of their seats not nearly as much as he' hoped when he brought it out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the 15 [Music] here comes the hurricane offense looking to gather a little more strength after throwing the pick on the last drive need to take care of the ball this time Jesse we're going to find out a lot about this quarterback right here too how does he fight through adversity after that last Drive yeah clear the mechanism move on that's a part of it right you're going to be a great player got to learn how to handle these mistakes and move on this first half of offense won't go on the Highlight Reel so far but starting to get things moving it's first and 10 they'll try the Run creating some space getting just enough good blocking and they've got it up to the 47 yd line you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense to the air it's Ward and the defense is all over the quarterback and down he goes and the kanes in the hurry up brings up [Applause] third on Third and long trying to have a big completion here and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down oh man the quarterback almost just threw his second interception on his many drives he's trying to fit that football in there it gets tipped up in the air he's lucky that wasn't picked off there is nothing to gain by Kick taking it away in this area of the field around Midfield going for it the wise move on fourth down looking to pass complete and looking for enough for the first down ran through the tackle and he's got room to run and they finally get him to the ground an easy conversion for this offense defense not exactly the perfect fourth down call there and the hurricanes are moving quickly down the field [Applause] give to the running back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one linebackers have such an amazing responsibility got to play run got to play pass how about this seeing the Run aggressively getting downhill and getting in the back field and making the tackle for a loss second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning he's looking to throw turns it loose and he throws his third pick of the day his head has to be spinning a return there would have just been icing on the cake they'll just have to settle for the cake at the 23 the nitty Lions going back to work on offense [Applause] now wide receiver shows motion touch pass on the rck the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's in completion they lost yardage really good job by the defense seeing it and going and getting it nice job understanding the touch pass it could happen those guys go in motion man I got to understand safety's got to see that start flying down getting ready to play that nice job by the defense being ready for that play quarterback checking off to throw it's Allard he's got his man turns it on in Midfield they got him free for a big Gainer down to the 43 I know it's early in the game but defensively after that play you know you have to tackle the catch when this guy gets the ball in his hands he is so dangerous after the fact so it's okay for him to make catches just got to get him to the ground quickly yeah and listen the offense has had their way and they've had so much success and so much production but listen at least the defense got a rep you know maybe this gets you some a spark maybe this get you some energy maybe we'll see a little bit more life from this defense yeah they may not win the game but I think this defense and he's running in the open and he Motors into the end zone touchdown pen State when that receiver got three it was all over and it's so nice to have a receiver like this as a quarterback cuz you pad my stats I like those long touchdown passes where I just threw it really short and he did the rest of the work ready to try the point after they tack on the extra point for a 35 nothing lead so they got the touchdown and as they kick off really important for the defense to shut them down here zero he'll bring it back from inside is five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 first and and here comes that Miami offense back onto the field so late in the half this is really an opportunity David maybe to swing the momentum in their favor dang right there's no time to be another interception that's his fourth of the day touchdown nitty lions and this defense coming up with points of Their Own what an interception return look a lot of time left there's a little bit of
