hi everyone I just wanted to do a very quick video in the wake of the announcement of the new remarkable paper Pro and just give my thoughts on it as a as an average consumer I'm not a technical expert I'm not some of these people who maybe have been given like a discount code and and been told to share it with their with their channels I'm just somebody who enjoys the remarkable too uh and I'm very interested to see what the remarkable company we going to do next just in case you haven't seen the overview video here is some highlights of the changes that they have made uh in terms of the remarkable 2 versus the paper Pro so the paper Pro is 10.8 in so a little bit larger you're looking at about 10% an interesting note is whilst the actual device is 10% larger the screen is also bigger so the screen's actually probably going to be more than 10% bigger if that makes sense it's taking up more of the footprint of the device so that'll be nice to have a little extra space when you're doing your Journal doing your notes things like that other features is I think probably the main one is its canvas color displays the name of it I want to make sure I get that right so you have color you have eight different main colors to choose from however you can combine and shade up to I think it's 20,000 different colors now the technology that they're using is quite Innovative I won't go into all the details again not that I'm an expert myself but they've essentially recreated some existing technology and it's supposed to be uh unrivaled by any of the other devices out there so we'll see if that's true or not you can sort of gauge it from the videos that are out there already it does look quite impressive another main one is the reading light which is a big deal for a lot of people I myself end up turning off my remarkable when my wife goes to sleep and she turns the light out and then it's like oh okay I either go to sleep or I'm onto my phone at this point so it will be welcome to have that reading light although it does look quite a lot dimmer than for example in the Kindle scribe and other devices I'm yet to see a video of it actually in a dark room so I'm a bit skeptical how uh how bright that reading light is going to be other quick mentions more storage 64 GB I think most people probably didn't need extra storage anyway I know I didn't the latency is quicker there's tweaks to the security it's meant to be a bit better and the batter is a bit better so there's no massive changes really what remark will have done is they've essentially leaned into their distraction free um that's their marketing campaign isn't it compared to the other devices it's very much distraction free we don't have a lot of bells and whistles or fancy features that these other devices have it's just an amazing writing experience and that's what they've gone into even more so they sort of doubled down on that Now spoiler alert I have decided to purchase one my personal approach is that if I don't like it there is a 100 day return policy because it is very expensive um if I do like it then I probably have no need for remarkable two and I may look to sell that to get a bit of the money back so time will tell I'll be uploading various videos again just from somebody's perspective who enjoys remarkable I'm just going to say what I honestly think and if it's worth buying or not my opinion if you're interested in it is if you already have a remarkable two and you're not so bothered about the colors or the reading light just stick with the remarkable two um if you don't have a remarkable device and you're interested in getting one and you can afford it then I would suggest going for the paper Pro however I don't think we're going to see that many people upgrading purely for the slightly larger size color reading light a bit more storage it's not fundamental in its changes um I'm going to give it a go and we'll see how it is the last mention are the thing that quite frustrated me about what they've done is accessories rise obviously they've got new cases cuz it's a bigger device um but they've changed the pen technology so all your old pens that work on remarkable one and two my pen collection is going to be redundant shortly well if I get rid of my remarkable 2 they're all going to be useless because they've changed from they've moved away from the EMR or wcom technology if you've heard of those um and so now it is has a battery inside it which charges when you connect it to the device so there's no cross compatibility with pens um and so we'll we'll see we'll see how that is but I'm interested to know what other people think has anyone else decided to buy one am I one of the few people who have coughed up the money to do so I look forward to uh doing more videos on it and obviously I'll let you know what I think and do a bit of an unboxing as well take care
