zero one let's get hello and welcome to Beyond top 10 tennis my name is Dr Ashley mcken BGE and I'm your host uh welcome to another episode um of the latest rankings and results on the WTA and ATP tours and I really want to kick things off today with uh the results that have unfolded over the past week cuz we have some really interesting data sets before then diving into the rankings CU there are some really interesting I think key correlations so this is uh probably our first episode post uh the Olympics where we really get to focus on specific rankings and results uh prior to the leadup to the US Open which is only well it's less than two weeks away I guess for some of the top players their first round matches would um be underway as we speak um in a fortnite's time which is really a a very small time frame but first of all if you've been with us for some time now thank you so much you know what we're all about you understand a little bit of that change of pace uh where we've been where we've been attracting towards um if you are new thank you so much um as always I really would encourage you to track back to those early episodes really when we started let's say those first 50 to really maybe those 70 episodes focused on really the nitty-gritty the D explaining it more so in simple terms really extrapolating from my earlier releases um so the secrets Optimal Performance Success Through To The Secret optimal coaching success um if you are tuning into the video feed um these are um older covers they have been updated so there are some of the um initial ones um that were shares they're limited editions I'll say but they're really jam-packed with key uh information and I think in a really exciting way I think I can share now that the release coming out fingers cross my next um book later this year all going well um will really be a stepping stone from these books overlapping um the the co to the performance extrapolating the data in more simple terms in contrast to say the more scientific text that really get to the nitty-gritty around um the specifics of developing that top 10 tennis ranking um these uh texts Prof uh provide the platform so the Baseline and the one that will come out is essentially bringing it all together and I will share more of that as I think we get close but I I only want to share just just a little bit at this stage um but the where I'm what I'm I guess I'm sharing is that those initial episodes really focused on those texts further explaining um what it's all about how um it directly correlates with that top 10 tennis ranking it's those Stepping Stones so more often than not you can get a player rank inside the top 30 that's not familiar with this still really really important and again as I jump out of the screen again if you're tuning in uh the what is your game Missing series again one of the initial covers and I've shared this in the uh probably the most recent or couple of episodes um this one's really jam-packed with the data it's a little bit more scientific but uh once you read those earlier text this becomes more familiar language which is really really important um it's essentially a complete learning structure as well embedded in that because as most probably can understand is when you're looking at develop in a top 10 tennis ranking um it's not easy it does not happen uh overnight you really need to I guess learn the ropes in a manner of speaking as you progress and then also again if you are I guess new um that was one of my lucky dice over there they didn't make that sound there um the my most recent release how to develop um a top 10 tennis ranking to the Seven Keys is then almost the Pinnacle of what you really need to progress not just to a top 10 ranking but those those grand slams that I've previously spoken about so if you are new that there's a lot in there whether it's how to achieve that top 10 tennis ranking the metrics behind um winning that Maiden green slam and it's really exciting that we actually have the da and that um I'm behind all that um and but that's why I'm here to share essentially how you really can get there and a international shares the complete pathway the long game so that 10 years of play to get there and how we're able to I guess F tune that to say all right this is what you need to do inside this six months then this six months or this season the next uh two seasons and really important metrics there that get um essentially to I think um not just the nitty-gritty but the minuscule details what you really need to be developing from the technical metrics um the key parameters in your game and so forth so there's a lot there and obviously for me to share what's encompassed in those 11 books obviously there's 12 there but one of them is my fictional release and so number 13 will be it's honest way I will say um but there's 11 essentially at this stage to progress agressively learn and go through to get you there um really important and again they are designed not just for players but for coaches and parents as well to understand what's really involved and to really if all three um are familiar with what's involved um in those texts you can really have those discussions of the requirements what you're developing and be able to plan it um but also um the text that I am working on is going to facilitate a lot of that that that's essentially my goal my my purpose my intention is to build this latest text to give you a way of navigating all of these books if you're just coming into it now um rather than say when I started releasing these books roughly around 8 years ago so if you are uh tuning in you you're one of the first time listeners or you're yet to pick up one of those books to really showcase um or share where you need to start um and how you can essentially uh cross over all of that not just data the information the key learnings and applied into your game over the next um season uh the next 2 three years and so forth really interesting and I will do my best to share more as we get closer but there's a lot of work involved as I'm sure um hopefully all of you are appreciate to get that done and again as Beyond top 10 candas only came to well it came to fruition a number of years ago but finally put a pented paper in a manner of speaking um to build out the the podcast um really a little over 12 months ago um so um we've come a long way but at that time I have still been riding it is a very big load um but the fun part is that the first essentially um half of this uh season I was really able to share key insights away from those writings and now we've uh I guess transitioned to the second part of the Season or year where I am heavier in that writing but I do get to share I think some more key insights um as we overlap really important before again we dive into the rankings and results as I was sharing um the water your game Missing series really important it features the best players in the world as in if you've made a round of 16 at a grand slam you make the cut to feature in one of these books Al that used to be I think at The Benchmark or top 10 ranking or around the 16 and showcase what that result and how it correlates with that ranking or if it doesn't what the players were not doing with that result why they weren't getting a top 10 ranking really really important interesting or why they're getting that result but why they're not able to replicate that replicate that result or why they're not winning a grand slam you've got top 10 players not winning Grand Slam and why really exciting really important okay but the last I'll say uh two uh texts in the the series featured or focused on more so top 10 metrics so really once you've um read the whole what is your game missing what is your game missing now what is your game missing to win so those three texts um what you need to know next to let's say clean up your game tidy up your that um your game all those metrics to start winning Grand Slams to secure your place inside the top 10 opposed to regressing really really important essentially it was something or one of the the final pieces so a missing piece that wasn't there but because let's say over the last three seasons so three years those books have been released and inside there was my fictional release we are lacking um the next release or the next edition of um this series so the water game missing series and so what I mean by that is over the last three seasons roughly including uh the the current one in play we haven't been tracking essentially the round of 16 top 10 in conjunction with one another to essentially uh share or leverage our Predictive Analytics and say well this is why this player is has reached the round of 16 um this player is poised to be a barrier breaker so achieve top 10 tennis ranking and so forth so all of those really exciting um data points metrics um that you need need to know to get to say uh the top 50 top 20 top 10 top five we've shared that really inside those last two releases but let's say the more technical side of it um I've waited for the the best part of the last three uh Seasons to play out so hopefully I think inside the next say 24 or mons the the next um two years fingers cross another one will come out it's a huge load but it will showcase almost the New Generation Um the previous text really cuz we're going back now recall a good uh roughly 3 years cuz last two years were focused on those other books if you're keeping up with me um we're looking at the likes of when fedra and Nadal were still in play winning grand slams and Serena really important but also when we had some of the top 10 players retiring or Grand Slam champions walking or let's say um moving away from the game they weren't at their peak level or we're looking at when bartini was in the top 10 which isn't the case but it looks like he could be tracking back um a lot of those big names or when Su Tech was just in her first year as number one when B was still in play so really important that's what those texts um encompass and were built from um before saena and G won their Maiden slams to Rina her maiden slam really exciting um but they were tracking so those texts showed how they were tracking to potentially win their Maiden slams or now sa blank with that second G with her maiden maybe looking at replicated success there so that next um series of releases uh hasn't been possible until we had enough Seasons to focus on because essentially looking at just that one season or that second season personally I just felt it wasn't enough data to share and I really like capturing bigger data sets really important because the bigger the data the more accurate it can be and that's a really I think um important uh point for all if you're looking at or listening to someone with a scientific background someone with a doctorate um really ask yourself the question about what's that data about where's that data um coming from I mean this question it's directly the rankings results WT ATP players um but also how big is that sample size obviously if someone says 80% is achieving that and their data size is is you know 10 20 people it's very small it's almost irrelevant it's it's not um weighty enough um and not I think as entrenched as someone who says well when when I've looked at 5,000 respective inferences this is what we're looking at um and obviously um I'm very fortunate because over the past I will say 10 plus years now I've been able to build that data set to 150,000 inferences that's correct 15,000 um I believe it is the biggest of its kind worldwide in this space um yes you have other um I will say organizations with data but no one has this specific data which is really really cool because I'm International um is behind so I'm behind um these first touch points on on the how and what's behind it and its player specific and so each check essentially encompasses historically an additional roughly 5,000 inference points really really cool okay um I've shared that and you know if you've been with us again for some time now you know that at the beginning of um each episode I like sharing something a little bit unique when it comes to rankings results data points um the scientific underpinnings Etc all right so today we're going to dive into um the recent results of WTA tour 1st ATP T 2 look at the results first before we look at the rankings because I want to um put some time aside to really um explain why key players have progressed in the rankings and why that has been the case where we have a lot of anomalies that have popped up over the past um week but I really want to explain that all right so kicking off from last week Hamburg opened Wu we are up to the quarter finals so remember Sheriff was the number one seed and she was playing dich and I said I really was tracking danovich this season and looking for an upset it did happen if you don't believe me tune into last week's episode because I love it when I I guess they align there's a cross-section there so danovich with the win in the quarters over Sheriff 3662 61 very very impressive all right Bond over lies Bond um fourth seed over seventh seed respectively Li did retire second set Bond won that first set sixth love that is a very brutal very solid performance there all right Russ over kova Russ was the third seed 2 and four and Russ with an e um with a win over Kash the second seed 61 4663 all right semifinals we had danovich and bond so again Bond fourth seed with that huge I think impressive win in the quarterfinals over lies now bond with the win there 61 3664 noteworthy three set so well done for danovich cuz she has been tracking bond has however is an anomaly here she's not essentially been tracking this season she's ranked inside the top 100 but this is a standout performance and this is also why um periodically I like focusing on the 125 um tour events so the smaller events where we have these players that start to track because interestingly and noteworthy Scher started to track in these lower events before what we're seeing in let's say the last 3 to 4 months very very important because players ranked inside the top 100 but not really yet inside the top 50 they're really um riant on these smaller events to get that traction to get those titels before they get entry or direct entry into those bigger tournaments and we don't really know let's say those uh players who are going to be more of a risk under the radar but really dangerous potentially likeor um unless we're looking at these um performances um to say hey this player is on the radar and they really could cause some damage all right the other side of the quarterfinals Russ third seed over Russ with an e um four and three for Russ without e okay so in the finals Bond I believe this is her maiden title um she did face Russ so fourth seed third seed um respectively 4 and two with that win um interestingly obviously if we're going off rankings um Russ was um ly favored there however Bond had an exceptional week cuz I believe she also um won the doubles title as well huge week for her um but when we're looking at her ranking this potentially really wasn't let's say e- marked for a win so there isn't an anomaly there and this is why it's a really important to track granted fourth seed danich not seated Sheriff seeded and we know Sheriff has been tracking so there was a huge upset there but really important win for Bond now and we've had a number of players again this season come through with these wins very very important to note and we will dive into the rankings later to look at how again Bond through to say denich rues um has been tracking all right let's head over to the bigger event or let's say the Talk of the Town over the past week um in Toronto so we're picking up from obviously the national Bank open in Toronto huge event where GF was the number one seed and we've seen a number of upsets there all right so we are up to the round of 16 stage we covered last week round of 64 obviously and round of 32 so I want to dive into round 16 if you're interested obviously in those earli results um tune into last week's episode all right so we're kicking off with the absolutely huge upset here but it's very noteworthy or important to share here um GF and Schneider is the one we are of focus GF played obviously we know the Olympics Schneider I believe she she did not played the Olympics um so we have some players here who are fresh off the Olympics fresh off the Clay they transition from the grass back to or clay to the grass back to the clay and now on to hard um very noteworthy and I believe this was G's first uh tournament back I believe since obviously um the Olympics a little bit I think on um a downside is that unfortunately we've got all these plays back in Action so they missed the closing ceremony of the Olympics we had a lot of athletes who are obviously still there but the tennis season does not stop it keeps going um I really um would have wished or hoped that there would have been a bit of a pause there especially um for the athletes that did participate so they wouldn't miss out so you will also see um later on in the rankings um a lot of players have regressed in the rankings or they've lost a handful of points because they opted to participate in the Olympics um and obviously other players that were not playing the Olympics picked up additional points so that there's a little bit I think of um I'll say it's disappointing on one side because I think there should have been let's say a bit of more even playing field or or leeway um in that respect all right so Shen we know she's been in action G one of her first um events backs since the Olympic especially on hard but look look at this upset 4 and one to schneer 64 granted potentially only a break there um but schne a huge win but look that second set at 61 is is is really significant um but again if you've been tuning in for some time now you know schne has been tracking you know I've pinpointed her over the last 34 months to break into the top 30 potentially top 20 if there was those rapid fire results and we're seeing rapid fire and why her recent ranking Peak after obviously this event is it's one substantial but also it does actually align with the Predictive Analytics it's very very important to share and why again I I'm so I guess hard set on it's so important to get get behind I think the text that I've been sharing because this is how you learn this is how you evolve and develop your game this is how essentially if you're a top 100 you don't get stuck um schneer really important and I'll dive into this later um she's been tracking for the best part of the last three years but we're finally seeing that breakthrough this year inside the top 100 but there wasn't that much traction until this season same thing happened to Pini a few seasons ago same things happens to poin on ATB tour this season historically we've seen this happen with the likes even quarter to CER to um Shelton we've seen it um a little bit go we've seen it with swe we've seen with some of the best players in the world um hovering until they make their Mark and I've been able to look at the data points those key I guess intersections and say this is why they've been hovering a a performance Plateau this is why they were able to reach a new Peak Performance and this is why they started to track and Ascend towards top 30 top 20 top 10 and then eventually Grand Slam wins really important all right there's a lot there R to 16 all right um back to um Toronto here okay um meron ssova we know ssova is been very impressive this season she's to succeed here Goodwin over Mertens 2 and four paga over Krueger here 2 and four I really want to highlight more on paga later all right I'm azaran and Sterns azaran unfortunately retired um second set STS with the win there four and then it was 42 in the second Navara and cuk very good win for I think Navara here five and five but well done um to cuk obviously when we're looking at rankings very similar Navara is slightly ahead Nara has slightly been tracking a little bit further than Kruk this season when we're looking at um level of Maintenance um rated progress so very good win for Navaro but um K can take a lot of I think good things away especially with that three set win over um Spina in the round of 32 there all right um Town um Austin Peno check this out look we know um Austin Peno got that really good win over Bosa in the round of 32 Town good win over um St um 0 and2 around 32 but look at this town sand and Austin Peno is the fourth seat Austin Peno is on the brink of becoming a barrier breaker again she was inside the top 10 um or she has been uh this season and she's just outside but this has to be I think one of the most biggest wins for Town Cent potentially in her career 62 61 that's huge okay so granted Austin Pinko did play the Olympics was on Clay so we need to give a bit of that leeway there with those first events back but still that's a huge win for Town Sent and really needs to be I think applauded um for that result all right um shifting now to the quarterfinal else and we've got some huge um I think um wind upsets here all right so we've got um top half of the quarters Schneider over Sams NOA so let's remember samsonova is seated ahead of Schneider at the beginning um I think of Toronto Schneider was um just ranked inside the top 30 a new ranking High Sams NOA I believe she's inside the top 20 so look at this schneer with the win 4661 64 huge forer it can't be un understated all right pag studes great to see paga back four and five now let's remember paga really didn't live up to those expectations at the Olympics she was in action but remember prior to the Olympics she defended um her grass core title hasn't been able to live up to the let's say the expectations of the Grand Slam at the Grand Slam level so it doesn't really correlate with her ranking but she has been able to historically track on the hard courts later in the season this is typically her time to shine but we're not seeing let's say the historical results at the Grand slant so that's really where I think um Pula does I think um lag or does historically I will say um fall down but all the same really really impressive okay back to it while I sneakily um look up something to the side all right other side we've got um Navaro and anisimova um anisimova huge win here um but before I get that because I was tracking a little bit ahead we're looking again quarterfinals all right we just touched on paga and Sterns paga with a very good win Sterns of four and five we've got Navaro town and look at this Naro very good win look 63 76 um 75 but very good win for town in I will say not a win but to take Navaro to a tie break in the second that's actually very substantial rather than potentially a different score line and obviously town going off that huge win over Austin pank all right biggest upset potentially um of the um event of Toronto Anova sabalenka an aova 6462 huge win however this is not that shocking because remember let's say um earlier this season hardcore time when we're looking at Indian Wales to Miami sabil Lanka wasn't making let's say the finals there and I know that's a huge Benchmark to set but we were seeing the likes of say Gore fever um to swch performing there where sabalan wasn't living up to those expectations sabalan came back clay Court Season huge performances so remember Madrid Rome finals um with Su Tech really edging she I think bled out um at the uh at rolling GS feeling not too well semifinals I believe it was semi-final quarterfinal sem was tracking there a lot of events I've been tracking obviously so um excuse I think um maybe it's not 100% accurate there but again if you've been following you you understand the data and please let me know as well before I so I don't jump to another screen but anisim overa very very important and I want to touch on some really key indicators of anisimova later and why this is not that shocking okay um semifinals and I did make take a little bit of a glimpse of a short time ago but look at this schneer and pagul are here but before I get to the score line what I really want to share I think um more about is um paga historically now look paga has been ranked inside the top 10 now for a number of Seasons really important but before I touch on that all right so we know um paga is yet to make say semifinals finals at the Grand Slam level but what paga has been very very good at is progressing past the round of 16 and why we have been able to track her and also a little bit further we're looking at quarterfinal results so US Open her best was quarterfinals let's say back in 22 she um round a 16 last year all right so historically this season paga has not been living up to those key expectations and I'll say why is because last season Pula made two uh quarterfinals Wimbledon and the Australian Open locked out this year at the Australian Open was not able to make uh let's say the quarters let alone around the 16 did not play the French Open um when it comes to Wimbledon um she exited essentially second round there but look in 22 three quarterfinals that's absolutely historic and why pagola would have shifted towards that top 10 ranking 21 there was one quarterfinal but that's it no other round of 16th so there's that lack of consistency sure we've got one time per year minimum um quarterfinals over the last three seasons but we yet to see that this season and that's why the argument has been there all season predominantly why Pula um is really uh not correlated with that top 10 ranking at this stage this season hasn't been able to live up to it similar with jaor and Jabor historically had some really good Seasons we know she's made the finals of grand slams twice or maybe it's like three occasions my apologies but this season it just has not been happening pagola however has been able to hold on on to that top 10 ranking courtesy let's say of that title but look it looks like she's starting to find some form again but really we can't um move away from look Australian Open even though French Open she didn't play but Wimbledon there is not those results there um that really correlate with that ranking all right but even though it might sound like I'm being really harsh here we need to look at the weight of these I think metrics and why a player is more likely to progress than others granted there are anomalies there I'll try to get to that later so paga huge win over Schneider 4 and three so we know Schneider is peing we know really really important this is the semifinal of a thousand event absolutely significant paga is or she was favored here and we know GFS out and Sabal laners out which leaves paga as a favorite um we don't have um other players um that weren't action this week let's say um inside say the top five so really important here um and look I will shortly get to the underlying why U we're looking semi-finals against the other half we had Navaro and a simova and look Navaro is definitely favored here she's been tracking All Season she's on a new rankings high as we speak Anna Sova with the upset 63 2662 all right I want to get behind now Anna samova I did say that a short time AG go why this is not that shocking and her results why it's not that shocking she had that win over sabalenka so look at let's look at Grand Sams we've just touched on for example pula's historical performance um look really important to note Anis over she's only 22 years of age seems like she's been around for some time now which she has I believe she burst onto the scene roughly is that 16 17y old and look um roughly I'll say 5 years years ago now so that's correct when she was that 17-year-old she made the semifinals of uh Rolland gal but more interestingly before that was the round of 16 at the Australian Open and why then she peaked I believe it was roughly inside the top 30 her ranking all right uh 2020 not the best year all right 21 not the best year both um of those Seasons backto back missed uh wimbl and Australian Open respectively then 22 started to find that form again her ranking correlated as well round to 1622 round to 16 as well so we go strin rolling gar quarterfinals at Wimbledon we're seeing that former game that we saw through 2019 first round lost US Open all right 23 wasn't really in action fell first round strain open did not play uh the French wiland or US Open she came back 20 or this season round of 16 and this is what I really want to focus on the anomaly there cuz when we're looking at the Australian Open round a 16 results we've got the likes of Justa kuk noova Pini all of these players that were not let's say ranked inside the top 20 and they started to track pen is already top 10 kisuk was one of them she's top 20 um really really significant C J's top 20 yka and nosova I believe they're just bump outside the top 30 but they have been top 30 predominantly for the best part of this season or the first part there are some other names in there but I really want to highlight that Anna Sova was one of them we haven't essentially been tracking her as much let's say through to the French or for the better part of this season because we haven't been seeing that level of consistency in the in between events those in between events is now so this is where I'm going so one of those events that in between is Toronto and guess who we're seeing performing in those in between events the likes of paga um very very important and also we're seeing Ana Sova finally tracking at a th000 event huge very very important even though we haven't consistently been seeing that at the Grand slang level who else have we been seeing at these in between events Schneider and why we're having that rankings Peak we're also seeing Navaro ranking King P so we're having some really interesting correlations this season that aren't necessarily just at the Grand Slam level okay so we we've gotten over those results so the final is not that surprising paga with her second title of the Season it is a th000 very important to underscore that and it does then correlate with her top 10 ranking however we are not seeing this consistently All Season uh through and why it would have made sense if pula's ranking had bumped outside the top 10 was ranked around let's say 186 in the world um that would probably correlate with her performances this season so far and now to become a barrier breaker bump inside the top 10 with this result just maybe or almost be on the cast when we're looking at those results this season yes historically the past three seasons paga has performed Grand Slam level not semi-finals not finals but finals consistently really good so would say okay yes top 10 this season has not been the case so a little bit of an anomaly still but what's really important is on the men's side inside the top 10 would be Fritz even though he's bumped just outside the top 10 as we speak I did share I'll say a couple of episodes ago that he's one of those players who has cyclical performances where he Peaks then drops Peaks and drops with big gaps in between um poua it looks like we're starting to see a pattern this season she really dropped at the beginning of the season but we're starting to see the peak now look it comes down to let's say periodization where we're looking at when a player more often Peaks than not if it is managed you get to see Peaks um more consistently through the season s Tech to golf um really good examples riiko when she's healthy SA car yes but hasn't been as consistent Pini yes now very a very interesting discussion there and then Zen really important obviously finals at the Australian Open not so much in between then all of a sudden another Peak she wins gold at the Olympics and maybe she will continue that Peak Performance because it was around this time last year we started to see that traction but yes and we've had probably about a four five month uh four five month lull between um but roughly let's say pagola she's had a roughly around a 7mon lull and then to now um so it's really interesting when we're breaking that down an A S Mo making this final taking Pula to three sets is very significant and substantial cuz it looks like we're going to start to see potentially another Peak with this result it essentially underscores an Sova could very well make the round of 16 at the US Open and it won't be surprising could very well make a quarterfinal appearance as well and that's I guess the weight of this uh score line really underscores um essentially what that US Open quarterfinal round a 16 field is going to look like okay that's a lot there wraps up I will say Toronto so this week um we do have a smaller event in action in Colombia I will say the bran quila open it's only really we just have first round in action but I I just want to really I think uh run through some key let's say seeds here to potentially um keep an eye out on Maria is the number one SE she's got through her first round there all right Jones um did track or she has I believe that wiblin had a good result right L men is the 16 car is the third seed um has she did fall in that first round Sierra is in there lepchenko is in there she's gotten through her first round orango seventh seat she has I'll say slightly been tracking not enough to um hold traction Jackie Mo's in there she has been a name that has been coming up but we're still looking for that traction poosa is the fourth SE now poosa she's gone through her first round um match but we have seen her tracking she's probably the most I'll say noteworthy player um for this event Beck Tass is the fifth seed um and really the second seed then is min although she did retire first round um Feld in that tie break there all right so I want to just keep an eye and I will come back to that next week and focus on maybe the semi-finals finals for those players and if we're looking at any noteworthy performances really when we're looking at even hand it wrapped up I think last week when we had Bond they really important I think just to keep tabs on that okay um Cincinnati is the big event underway this week and we essentially have all of the top players back in Action I believe look we've got only the first round to focus on here but Su Tech is back in Action I believe palen she is's back in action savena will have her playing here as well look I believe Zen's back look atin peno's back paga is here so a lot of I think noteworthy players Schneider is back in Action riik Kean is back in Action um a lot of big names very good to see and BOS here gos obviously here so it's going to be very um I think interesting to see essentially less than two weeks out from the US which players are going to track and which ones are not going to so we only have a couple of first round matches and um that are finished they are essentially live as we are airing today but look um we'll cover a couple look um s number one seed has a bu she will play um graa in that second round graa with a win over Tom Lovich in three first round 62 2676 there um Lulu Sun so remember her for her standout performance at Wimbledon very good win over noova because noova is ah head of sun in the rankings so Sun 64 76 there very good win great to see sun with that result she will play stro next that's a tough one for um Lulu um but because stro got a good first round win over Merton 64 2664 Navaro will play Man Andrea first round p give up with win over tomova six and six um Burell is playing Popova as we speak in the third set palini has a buy she will play the winner of that match sabl Lanka with a buy she will play cocko in the second round um cetto with that win over Montgomery 754 663 um Spina is playing Wang as we speak and it is in the third set um Wang potentially could cause an upset Selina is favored but Wang is noteworthy has been tracking this season bronzetti will play as a ranker let's see how Azarenka plays after that retirement last week Samson overa against um xwang I will say and that'll be interesting if Samson over backs up her performance again from last week uh Bolter is playing Lynette as as we speak it's 62 then um to Bolter first set Lynette got that second set six love and currently it is four all in the third Evan will play Andreu Austin Peno with that b and will play the winner of that match paga with a B she will play the winner of makova and gesta be very interesting to see how makova is playing I think after I think I'm tracking on Clay Town Sent will play doh High um kazakina got a win over alexandrova 4 and two um veage was upset first round here over Krueger noteworthy this is veic I believe her first event back since the Olympics Krueger with that win 5776 62 still three sets very good but very good win for Kruger um Schneider will play s Zang um Fernandez will play Yuan um Rubina with a buy first round Zang with a buy first round fretch will play Bova wasaki will play CL kalinina uh pavena will play her dad May ear Callen SK will play um Senor kov Bosa is up against stunes Dart up against Pensa and um the winner of that match will play GF in the second round obviously GF has a buy first round oh my goodness that was a lot there all right so um we will now head on over to the rankings but I really want to um before we do that make some comparisons here now because Schneider we know she's been peing but let's have a look at her ranking look historically she only really has the past three and a half Seasons this is her fourth season so look when she cracked on tour as typically is the case we're looking at that thousand ranking inside her first season so 21 through to 22 um schand got inside the top 2 200 that's huge that is absolutely significant so 22-23 hovered inside the top 100 typically around I will say that top 60 range she finished the year on all right so this year has typically been the same she's been hovering around let's say 50 to 60 for the best part of the last year until she started making that Peck very very substantial and very significant there until her new found high but look when we're looking let's say at those grand slam performances we are yet to see anything of that kind if you are tuning in to our video feed we do have a surprise guest this does happen from time okay so we haven't typically been seeing those results um at the Grand Slam level where Schneider really has been tracking um is those in between events noteworthy however Schneider has never played the US Open she's never qualified that has not been the case so really she's only been playing at the Grand Slam level for the past two seasons so 23 played two grand slams Australian Open sorry Australian Open and the French Open didn't qualify for wiblin nor Us open this season is more sturdy there so she's played Australian Open and the French Open and Wimbledon noteworthy though Lost first round Australian first round Roland gas however she did start to get traction on her ranking prior to Rolling garos and that is when she won I believe her maiden title prior to that um interestingly though did make the third round of Wimbledon her best performance which means sheda is on track for round of 16 at the US Open if we're following her current trajectory but because she has a rapid fire result with that ranking that's why we're looking at a quarterfinal potentially result with some upsets along the way and we have been seeing those upsets this is how the Predictive Analytics work but we still need to have some caution there to see how schneer will track in the past week noteworthy what I wanted to bring uh everyone's attention to was Pini now to look at those comparisons Pini has been on to it for let's say the best part of The Last 5 Years but she had not performed very well um at the Grand Slam level even in between had really been holding on to that top 100 ranking but really let's say top 50 the past 2 three four seasons if but look that's why the seven keys and yes the eighth key is so substantial cuz this is how we go yes this season um looking at the better part of last season even though predominantly first round exit at the Grand Slam level palini round of 16 finalist finalist is on on track US Open whether it's round of 16 quarterfinal semifinals finals pingy is on track to finish this year essentially as almost as good as s Tech with her results that is how substantial um palen's results is potentially ahead of s Tech however at the Grand Slam level despite without that win sh is not let's say at that level but this is what could potentially happen because this is all with pin rapid fire year on tour where those keys have really come to fruition now another really good example is anisimova we've seen this historically with one round of 16 result but Pini and anisimova very very different so we really need a caution rankings wise when we look at a player with the results of Pini yes top 10 when we're looking at a schneer to U an Addis MOA no top 10 when we're looking at those results paga however we can say yet top 10 historically prior to this season uh the reason why paga is still top 10 because she's got those points she's been able to hold on to very very important all right so let's have a look at the rankings we're going to start talk 100 before we get to um obviously top 10 breaking into uh the top 100 I believe potentially for the first time is Kesler 25 from the states she's had a 10-point progression to make it to 100 noteworthy is Russ so we've just touched on Russ with that finless result fiveo progression back inside the top 100 to 96 in the world this is why we're not seeing the players in the 125 events because they could be out side the top 100 or just inside very important to knowe um okay um Irani though not worthy with her Olympic performance um she's at 95 all right let's track forward Asaka new rankings High she's at 90 she's steadily making those inroads she is on track nonetheless to make around of 16 potentially or further at the US Open if she's able to make that Traction in the next two weeks all right poter Rosa from that Laur event as well that 125 she's at 88 just to give I think a benchmark there Carl 87 as well so they're two of those players in action Sheriff 83 when we're looking at um those um events in contrast to say Cincinnati um other I'll say noteworthy Bond because of that win in um Hamburg um she's up 15 places to 79 Ric she's back one but 71 noteworthy still to keep an eye on ranu is really I think um on the move to crack into the top 50 potentially if she has a good hardcourt season okay um we're really um look um tracking inside almost the top 50 but look here we've got Wang yfan Wang who's had those upsets she has been tracking 10o progression to 62 in the world what I really want to draw attention to here is that Australian um open before Zen became a became a finalist there she played yfan Wang I believe um prior to the round of 16 one those earlier matches but Yan Wang almost came out with the wing there she was potentially favored um and she was tracking before Z ia1 I believe it was in a tie break there but it was that close and that's why yfan Wang has remained on the radar all season long despite let's say that age difference Zen 21 youran rang 30's been on tour for some time now but Yan I believe is very very close to cracking the top 50 potentially top 30 we're just not seeing that level of Maintenance all right um let's get back inside the top 50 here almost look Town Sent huge ranking progression with her results over the past week 20 point progression to 51 in the world I don't think this is her highest ranking but potentially this is a ranking high or thereabout another significant move is Anis MOA 83 points from making the finals there falling to p she's back inside the top 5049 in the world really important to note here though Anna Sova has been inside the top 30 before so this is not a ranking High um she's almost been inside the top 20 very important I think to share this again only 22 years of age if Anna Sova is back in Action see she stays healthy is able to pick up those results it's not going to be surprising to see Anna s over back inside the top 30 inside let's say the best part of the last 2 3 months finishing the season on potentially a rankings High because we know what Anis MOA is capable of it's just keeping that maintenance that rate of progress that new Peak Performance setting that Benchmark and leveling up and then moving on to that next Peak Performance okay Stones is up 7 to 46 let's track inside the top 30 now we've got a number of players I'll say outside the top 30 um that should be inside the top uh 30 but that's how the rankings have been playing out and I've been sharing this over the past I'll say best part the last one to two months nobody just outside the top 30 though is Bosa on a new rankings high I'll say in the last two years she's at 36 now very very good traction especially if we look at look beginning of the year outside the top 100 very very good and you know what um Osaka was almost around a similar ranking range as Bosa so we know what's possible when we're looking at rankings we just need those backto backto back results and BOS has really been proving that and it's just great to see her healthy H look if Bosa has a good performance in Cincinnati she's going to crack the top 30 which is going to be very profound and exciting to her with everything that she's been through but I don't want to focus on I'll say um that today CU we've got some other I think key ranking movers um but very noteworthy um nonetheless all right top 30 here we come Bolter back inside the top 30 great SPID is Back Time back inside the top 30 and so is p Jen um 30 29 and 28 respectively all right um Garcia is just at one at 25 vage is back to at 23 Andria is back 24 I'm not going to be surprised if U Mira Andrea bumps out to top 30 that's probably where her current level or level of maintenance is um but that that's actually a good thing for her age before we see that another PE cycle all right I think the biggest I think um news of this week is schneer cracking the top 20 historically again you've been following Beyond top 10 tennis you know this was predicted that Schneider was about to crack the top 20 if those rapid fire results did follow which has been the case absolutely substantial let's see however how schneer tracks this week but also um US Open schneer is going to be a dark horse um but also touching on those ranking and those progressions you know what potentially is possible all right samsonov has had um a pretty good week though she is back four though she's still solid at 177 noteworthy enough um interesting look as a rank is at 19 but vandra SOA was top 10 but because of not being able to defend that Wimbledon Championship she's at 18 noteworthy as well as Jabor is at 16 of those results um leading into the us both those players are going to be think a bit dangerous because they have been I will say tracking this season just not I will say at the Grand Slam level but still they are going to be dangerous right Callen SK she's up two at 15 we've got keys then Navaro has passed Keys here she's up two to 13 now if you have been paying attention you would have noticed that Navaro has been on track to become a barrier breaker this season season and it looks like this is going to happen and again you need to remember this is all leveraged off me sharing with you those real time results on how the data Works how essentially of what I was sharing I think at the very beginning the what is your game missing series and how I think those key um um inference points work so Keys yes Navaro they are set and primed for a dangerous US Open run but potentially Austin Penco we haven't seen that yet in the let's say the best part of the last month potentially Cincinnati otherwise we will see her bump back Navaro and keys bump through but I still want to pay attention to samsonova um VR SOA as well andur but um Schneider um even more so all right Austin Peno is just outside uh the top 10 at 11 but again Navaro looks like she could be taking place Collins look she's regressed to she's still inside I will say at the top 10 let's see how her health I think is maintained we know Collins how she played Indian Wells to Miami Hardcore Season really really solid we haven't seen so much of that um more recently let's say at the Olympics we know um her health um let's say hasn't been the best but we know it's her final season and I've been rooting for her to finish her year on top let's go Collins potentially round a 16 could go deeper at the US open if she's healthy if she's leveling up that pig performance with that next Baseline all right everyone else in the top 10 has stayed the same we're not seeing um any I say movers or key progressions here um other than look Sakari she's been bumped up and CR coov because Collins has just been regressed just slightly but really substantial we've got SW Tech back in Action um let's see how GF goes this week same with sabinka riina back in Action Pini back in action we know how pagul has been tracking but she's still solid at um six um Zen's at 7 we know she has that Olympic gold but obviously no points with the Olympics okay this has been a lot um for the WTA tour let's head on over to the ATP Tour today is going to be a lot longer than anticipated but that's okay all right um we've got to wrap up at Toronto um on the men soorry not Toronto that's the w Montreal Montreal we've got some really interesting I think insights here what I want to really have a look at um before we dive into the draw is poin those of you who don't know the result I'm not going to tell you the result we will get to that shortly but what's really important when we're looking at poin is the anomaly um and I do have notes to touch on that today um on the men's side we've seen a number of progressions this season we have not not seen the anomaly examples on the women's side um I do have from the top 10 players we've had that lackluster of results why we've had Jabor regress vova regress a number of top players who were inside the top 10 on the women's tour at the beginning of the season have regressed and we've had that anomaly this season where 50% of players on the W chain ATP tours have not been tracking and they haven't been living up to those expectations so the correlation with that top 10 ranking has not been there now an example on the ATP tour with players with cyclical results inside the top 10 Tisa pass and rud even though Rood is top 10 tsip passers just outside the top 10 they started to peek in the clay Court season they didn't piek let's say at the Australian Open or at Wimbledon cyclical result they could pick up at the us maybe not I'll get to that later right but what's really important is to remember we have players that can Peak historically and those who don't Nadal at the very beginning of his career he peeed at on the clay then he found a way to peek on all other surfaces if you have access to the seven keys and then the eighth key they are not surface dependent they require you to peek at every single uh surface there is actually zero correlation between let's say your results your rankings um and knowing the Eight Keys and not being able to perform across all surfaces very very important Su Tech very important to remember she has won the US Open and the French in the same year she has been able to track very very important we're not seeing that from all players um just some key points here that I'm sharing before I get to the nitty-gritty um we know jovic for example has tracked across all surfaces we're seeing that now with elas very very important we've seen how C can play on hard and grass very important and Clay when we're looking at semi-final plus results at that grand slam level okay that's enough of let's say those notes to share I really wanted to I think um highlight those points so moving on from that when we're looking at the ATP Tour we haven't seen so many anomalies or breakthroughs as we've seen on the WTA tour so a short time ago I shared the round of 16 breakthroughs we've had this season on uh the WTA tour we've seen what Pini has been able to do huge now we're seeing maybe the likes of schne she's cracking the top 20 we're seeing or we've seen let's say what Collins has been able to do this season all right we are seeing or we've seen Ken SK a bump to 15 in the world huge from let's say um not being inside the top 30 this season um so we've seen built on the Australian Open and thereafter um samsonova has been picking and I've just touched onada costu veage standout performer this season even vage is almost equal to her ranking High um so um Bol has been tracking as well this season and that's just the top 30 and so we've had noova for example just outside she has been inside um really important B DOA we know she has been top 10 but we're looking at that traction and how quick it can happen okay enough of those examples um atp2 are Popin now look it's really important to share that poin has not tracked he has not made traction at the Grand Slam level but neither has Schneider neither has schneer and schneer just started to track this season um really really important poin however he started to track inadvertently this season with really good results um with really tight results against some of the best players in the world it was only at Wimbledon I believe um poin took jovic to four sets and so he took a set off um jovic very very important we're not seeing it uh consistently but we saw a bit of performance that again against zarev at the Olympics but we haven't been able to see it play out in those in between events as well as at the Grand Slam level but those in between events poin has been making traction this season he has been ranked in inside the top 40 historically over the last 2 years poin has been but a lot of players have then they regress like poin has inside say the top 70 top 50 they hover but what happens when you develop and you hold onto more of those keys you see traction and it can happen almost overnight like it has with Schneider all of a sudden it comes together Pini in her huge year she's having it comes together all right so when we're looking let's say just at the rankings wise top 10 on the men's tour we know how it happens dematron rud herx were better on the clay we saw deor make traction um not so much on hard but more so on Clay even though it was there Shelton on hard made traction wasn't really transferable clay and on the grass but it was still there we're looking at different levels um okay mati's been a breakthrough player this season although he was top 30 um noteworthy who I one I think pick out here is Phils and mesh pericard made traction this season they're being able to hold on to that traction and that's where we're finding poin now okay so be let's dive into the results before we get to the rankings it's a lot smaller uh this week on uh the ATP Tour because we just have a couple of events in contrast to obviously um The Well double on the uh WTH all right so Montreal round of 32 we did touch on the initial rounds last week so this is where it's going to get interesting uh we know C he did make the round of 16 because round of 32 c coric 2 and four all good signs for C before we know what's about to happen um tabilo 15 seed over sgro 4 and two smooth sailing nak Kashima upset Paul this was actually a very big upset but I believe this was Tommy's first event back since the Olympics 62 6761 very good one for Nakashima Nakashima has been tracking this season all right a Chev rubl rubl with that win 7662 ruop has been starting to find form despite he's had his intermittent results those earlier losses essentially also at that grand slam level rublev has been Finding Traction that has been correlating with his ranking at those in between events when we're looking at Grand Slam metrics alone rublev does not correlate with the top 10 ranking similar to paga but Pula does correlate when we're looking at her results prior to this season at Grand Slam rued that's not the case very important I think differentiated there all right very big upset um in the round of 32 Mev and davidovich f davidovich f with the win 641 662 analdi over kakenov another upset five and five bgas over Humber another upset 36767 six nikosi huge win over tisat great to see Nik nishori back it has been a long time coming and he will get some points from that tsipas again first event back I believe since the Olympic 4 and four to Nisha Cori all right dimitrov good win over um Haka 616 love that is absolutely huge for dimitrov but that's what we would expect when we're looking at those rankings and those differentiators there Kabal and renck renck the qualifier with a good win there two H sorry three and two all right poin very good win over Shelton that's an upset um 6476 so that is the second round round of 32 this is where it starts for Popin but we have seen those earlier rounds upsets from popin previously um at these events but not say consistently and this is where it change changes um but this is where we've also historically seen some other movers whether is um from fields to M mes pericard make these moves also a g elic he started to get back inside the top 30 top 20 when he started to make those moves roughly around 2 three months ago now all right um cocken arus he fell to herx herx 46 3676 still very good win for tasy there all right um rude over Duckworth 62 6763 quarter over frit that's an upset although quarter has been tracking 6476 again I believe this is fr's first event back since the Olympics run over Carino buer a good win for R there one and three zarev Goodwin over Thompson one and one all right gets a little bit more exciting um round of 16 so C still good win over to Bow 4 and three smooth sailing um you know where this is heading Ru good win over Nakashima we're seeing those that uh let's say those top 10 metrics come through two and two really important there okay and I want to highlight a bit more later right andal over davidic Pina 46763 love uh with retirement Nisha Cory huge win again over Bor guest because you need to remember despite um Nisha Cory being well known prior top 10 previously performing at that grand slam level the best part of the last two three seasons have been brutal for k um and really for him to get these winds to get some traction it's just great to see him back okay Popin over dimitro in the round of 16 is a huge move because look we've just touched on Shelton in the first round and now dimitro in the second round absolutely substantial to back that up 4676 63 three sets but that's okay a win is a win and to get that in three is substantial I'm sure his first um or was round a 32 win over Shelton wasn't two that tiebreak wasn't the second but still that's a really huge win for poin two backto back I will say top 15s cuz Shelton's not quite there yet give him another two seasons all right maybe I'll say maybe if he has a standout performance at the US that's a top 10 okay before I get ahead of myself um R herx um herx very good win there in 3466 364 um cter run but with a walk over there um R uh r fell to Z zarev in the round of 16 we would have expected that zarev is playing absolutely solid 6376 zev's really yet to disappoint this season uh I'm not going to be surprised if red makes the semi-finals of the US Open potentially he's going to be an underrated finalist and I say underrated because you really need to give jovic Center um to elarz uh you need a favor the gold medalist um the Grand Slam finalists to uh the grand winners so far this season uh but zarev has still showed up he's still been showing up it's just that those other three have been I'll say stealing the Limelight but zere he's still been showing up really really important and it has been showing in these in between events he definitely has earned his ranking um interestingly zarev is actually tracking ahead of jovic but when it comes to I will say that gold medal it not be understated uh but also Z has been tracking potentially ahead of cner um El has been showing up with those two grand slams Z's been showing up he's been making the Deep runs C has been but we're seeing a bit of a lull those in between events at this stage and he hasn't been showing up as much as I would like to see but we have some interesting metrics I'm about to share okay so that is round of 16 quarter final time for these players excuse me upset alert um C rubb rubb huge win over C 631 1662 this is the type of win that's getting my attention now with rubl going okay are you playing top 10 tennis again are you coming back because the last couple of weeks the last few months it has not been there this is a very good win but also I don't believe sin is at his Peak this was his first I think event back since withdrawing from the Olympics okay round 16 analdi over Nisha Cory not surprising because again this is a really good run for k um so analdi 6475 let's hope there's a good bump for Nisha Cory in the rankings poin over herx second back-to-back top 10 win third consecutive top 15 win 36 76 75 so if you're seeing these wins these these wins of these quality players that popprint is achieving you can't be surprised about what's to come next quarter over Z rev okay this wi from quarter over Z rev 761 664 is essentially in line with Sinners loss very very important which means what I was just saying about let's say the top four elarz jovic zarev C we're seeing a very similar metric with which I'm going to say elra has won two slams s's won one zev's made obviously the finals he's been um showing up consistently you need to put all three of them at the top then jovic despite jovic winning gold being a finalist we still need to put him at number four when we're looking that jovic hasn't won a title this season he's won a gold medal which is huge but he's not to win a title so when we're coming up to the US open there definitely is a question mark there okay quarterfinal time we've just gone over all of the quarter finals very interesting so semifinals we're looking at let's say that level of Maintenance that consistency rublev over analii 4 and two rublev is getting my attention now again poin over cter this is huge C's been tracking quarter has a title I believe this season um 7 six that was seven love six sor absolutely substantial I will say performances there really surprising so again ru's been a part of the anomaly that is not inside the top 10 yes he's ranked inside the top 10 but his performances this season all other nine players ranked inside the top 10 have been correlating rublev has not especially when we're looking at the Grand Slam level this is where we're seeing the surprise here all right again W tour Pula was not neither Zen even though Zen's been a finalist and now a gold medalist her results between let's say that gold medal and the Australian Open had not been tracking neither has Pula but we're seeing the peak now from paga and look who we're seeing Peak now we're seeing rublev Peak with a final and granted I'm going to give it to him but look poin he's got the win 2 and four huge substantial but we've seen this hold on we've seen this from a p perica got elic and fills this season on the men's tour but we're seeing it more consistently on the WTA tour or we've seen more of so the WTA tour I'm going to say is slowing down those players who are going to make their Mark have made their Mark schneer I will say is almost the last of them this season and now we're seeing them really push and make their move but it's a little late for the men we're seeing rued similar with P again make his move he could very well make a quarterfinal now at the US Open if he keeps this up he could very well make his best result at the Grand Slam level which is really surprising but we still need to give a lot of weight to this result poin though look we're looking looking at that run that schneid has made for example that Navaro has been making that Ken SC been making Pini is obviously made but other plays this season have been making sure men's side poin he's just there but this is an a thousand event which has really um pushed his ranking up ahead of players not um that really should be ahead of him but we'll get to that shortly okay so that's really wrapping up um Montreal and there's a lot of big results there let's touch on Cincinnati briefly because it's just gotten underway before we go on over to the rankings all right so there's only a couple of matches there first round underway C is in action number one seed he's got to buy mitchson first round win over grein ball 61 5762 for Cincinnati all right Bayer has upset Geron first round 6457 7686 Thompson has upset Humber at 36 6376 Fritz will play Nakashima first round halt will play Phils all right Zang good win over mesh Perry card that's tough that probably would have been a bit even 6 Street 76 all right ruet with the buy first round Z with the buy kakenov over sondo love and three good for him to get that win after not playing I'll say that that well Montreal all right our pcel will play maak Kino buer will play quarter Shelton with the win over um opela 7676 a Chev will play analdi marison will play M dimitro with the B herx with the B Nisha with a win over kovich four and five derei over to Billow 3 and 76 cabal has upset Paul again that's two back toback upsets that Paul has experienced since the Olympics however three sets Cabo 62 46 75 so there's not too much weight there because they are three setters all right mercedi again back in Action again first time this week good win over Jarry 4676 76 I want to see a bit more of mati in action before we start giving more weight to let's say the hardcourt season that's now Under full swing uh with the us obviously around the corner a davage for felt to tiero so tiero has been getting some good I'll say earlier wins we're seeing him back inside the top 30 so he's he's starting to show some signs of his form from last season just in time I think for his standout event of the Year US Open all right so that was three and 76 let's check over n 766 Street mad with the bu rud with a B let's see if Rd is healthy um this event in contrast obviously to his withdrawal in Montreal aore Alysa will play um kich and it will be his uh first event back since the Olympics and you need to remember that agore Alys did lose in that bronze medal match he he had a standout performance at the Olympics all right Draper will play Muna as struff will play tisas run will play bertini manarino will play borgas Phils will mon my apologies will play poin that's going to be very interesting to see how poin now backs up his results from Montreal to Cincinnati ELR second seed with a buy I'm really curious to see how ELR tracks and C tracks since they're both in action this week elra is obviously first event back since the Olympics and how they end up tracking very very important and noteworthy there all right let's head on over to the rankings now let's we're going to start at the top 100 before we get to the top um obviously 10 but we've got some very interesting I think um comparisons or let's say um correlations here uh at 100 cracking there is um drum her my apologies for the mispronunciation but he's 32 years of age and he has cracked into the top 100 so congratulations there all right vage big um regression there 14 points back to 97 CU zor is up 5 to 93 not worthy kuk is one of those players that has been tracking this season started at the Australian Open not so much in his results but how his um core metrics have been performing has he ascertained or started to integrate the seven keys let alone the eighth key no that's very very important and why his ranking maintains or it's steady where it is so let's say a performance Plateau still a peak but a performance plateau nonetheless all right coric because of his recent wins he's had 11 Point progression to 83 all right um tracking closer inside the top 70 now Duckworth is up 1367 really good um for the Aussie there obviously poin is the standout Aussie this week um those of you who are not familiar I am based in Australia so I do like giving that shout out to the Aussie oh the Australian when they are tracking all right inside the top 50 Nakashima threo progression 49 mesh pericard is maintaining at 48 nor 47 mon is back 12 points unfortunately so he's at 46 gon is back 845 not worthy garon's been tracking this season so has mesh peric car bartini is back one at 42 uh grein sport back one at 41 all right let's check us back six at 35 closer almost top 30 and n the huge progression 16o progression to be at 30 now very very significant Sarah Londo he's back 3 to 29 T he's steady at 27 all right the biggest move the most substantial move of the week s obviously to on the W tour and now move we've got poin so poin a 39 Point progression to 23 in the world all right what's really important here is there a th000 points added now before that thousand it's really important he was under a th000 points so let's say the 800s really substantial is that because he's got those thousands that's going to protect his ranking let's say inside I will say the best part of the top 50 now for the next season for the next 12 months until Montreal comes around again but unfortunately we've got players from the lights of bartini who's tracking inside the top 30 um potentially anardi who I've just touched on bills who I've just touched on who are having those results um but only also racking up smaller points so for example anardi with that 16o uh progression this week he only picked up 330 points so that's only a third in contrast to what poin has picked up so where I'm going here is that it's going to be a lot more harder so complicated arduous for uh poin to hold on to that ranking because that's a huge leap those thousands however it sets a really good I think um ranking range Benchmark leading into the US Open he's going to have um hopefully easier rounds courtesy of that seating now so he'll be seated for the first time in his career very very exciting but when we're looking at other ranking uh ranges uh points wise it's very important to draw attention uh to that and I think those key differentiators all right so top 20 for example uh doubling that is Bayers obviously at 2,000 points there all right Felix is at 19 moet's back to 18 humbert's back to 17 Rune is up 1 to 16 but that's really going off some players performing a little bit better than others in Montreal when we go um one round ahead of the other um okay so quarter however is up three new ranking High to 15 in the world really important about quarter um I want to draw a similarities with schneer quarter's been tracking this season earlier than schneer so um quarter has been inside the top 30 for the best part of the last I think I want to say season roughly thereabout quter showed up at the time where elarz did and Sinner and not so much Shelton but he's been there all along all of those other players tracked inside the top 20 inside the top 15 two of them obviously see El inside the top 20 they've gone on to Wingra land cter has maintained his hold just inside the top 30 so it's a performance Plateau inside the top 30 now we're seeing cter Peak he's tracked inside the top 20 and now inside the top 15 which makes quarter alongside the likes of Paul who has also been tracking as potential Barrier Breakers maybe this season if we see a regression from other players inside the top 10 so remember 8% will maintain their hold 2% per season won't but this season is an anomaly where we're seeing um bigger percentages regress and bigger percentages progress um if you're keeping pace so otherwise we're seeing Fritz ahead of Paul again but that's really just a switch in places where we saw Paul ahead of Fritz only uh last week tisas is steady ahead of them at 11 just outside the top 10 okay uh before we wrap up today's episode let's focus on the top 10 unfortunately look Alex was at a ranking high he got to number six um then he was seven but he has taking a three-point regression to 10 in the world he is more likely than not at risk of regressing outside the top 10 this week and tisar taking his place purely because he hasn't been able to play he has that um obviously that injury he picked up um at Wimbledon wasn't able to play at the Olympics really uh disheartening for Alex how well his season has been going it's heartbreaking really I really hope Alex has been is able to recover in time for the us but it's it's a really big shame because this is not correlated with his performance it's due to an injury uh and obviously there isn't a protected ranking because he's still in action hopefully so this time next week more likely than not we will see Tisa pass crack into the top 10 Alex get to 11 and it's going to open up a room for potentially frits to uh progress back inside the top 10 we may very well see Paul inside the top 10 after the us maybe Shelton may be cauter if they continue tracking now players that may be displaced will be the likes of hers to rud purely because they're more favored on the uh grass for herc and Clay but rude clay and we may very well see that regression and we did see that for R around this time last year as well before he came back inside the top 10 roughly I'll say top five are protected however rubl has had a huge performance in the past week we need to see more of that let's see how he tracks at the us or if it uh let's say slides back but at this point in time he is a good almost well he's 400 points ahead of herx let's see how herx performs this week in contrast to Ru um it's a really interesting I think discussion to see how they're tracking diatr has been steady um R obviously he withdrew from Montreal but let's see how they track and Since U deor is essentially out with that um injury we need to see if he's coming back but that's really opening the door let's say that 2% is widening to maybe 3 4% that may regress and tip pass he's been inside the top 10 this season so has frits so it's not going to be surprising to see them back inside the top 10 but what will be more substantial is if Paul becomes a barrier breaker Shelton becomes a barrier breaker to quarter I'm going to favor quarter ahead of Shelton and Paul as well because they've been tracking more consistently in contrast to Shelton that said we know Shelton can perform on the hardcore surfaces so it it's going to be a very very interesting discussion and we need to throw poin in the mix because of his performance the last week um but it's really opening up uh room for a lot of players now on the ATP Tour but this is the type of room we saw on the WTA tour earlier this season so for those of you who are curious interested we're seeing identical or level of reciprocity across the WT and ATP tours it's there is not let's say a big differentiator between the two that 50% is across both T it um and also these newcomers just at different periods of time this season oh my goodness okay this week has been absolutely huge there was so much to pick up on um from let's say those results those rankings there was so much there but all right let's wrap up today's
