GRIFFIN CONINE POST-GAME @ COL (8/27/24)

wow so that was a heck of a first start uh can you try to put it all into words here what all this meant tonight um crazy game uh just glad we got the W to be honest uh they kept saying in the Dugout you know it's course field Anything Can Happen five run innings are are diamond dozen here so uh we just kept putting good together together good at bats and uh luckily I was able to start it off in the ninth did you think the first one was gone I thought there was a chance you know Co field elevation you hear how the ball travels uh I know didn't fully you know fully Square it up but once I saw the outfielder turn his back I thought maybe and uh just a bit short and take me through the play throwing out the guy at home in this game yeah uh line drive you know I went out I knew they were probably going to send him toar a good runner and uh it checked up kind of right to my chest so that's kind of a dream uh scenario for an outfield as far as throwing easy transfer and uh just put out all I had unto it and to do this obviously at this level this is your first start but to do this in front of your family man what does that mean to you yeah absolutely uh you know I think uh obviously I just want I'm good at bats and not trying to focus too much on results but really happy they able to see the first first hit and first you know game in the books last one for you this was a crazy game you guys go down for nothing but there was almost this feeling throughout the game that you guys were going to come back did you guys feel the same way during this yeah I absolutely I think you know we were having good at bats the whole game um some balls weren't falling good swings putting together and uh once we got two guys on in the ninth and uh we started rolling there I think you know anything can happen where's the ball going uh for right now it'll be with my parents uh in in my dad's memorability room and and then uh we'll see after that congratulations thanks for the time thank you appreciate it
