With Daniel Jones Poor Play Is New York Giants Drew Lock headed to the Number 1 QB Spot?

this sucks and it's horeshit but I'm too polite to say anything cuz I'm a Class Act we're always a Class Act here at online big blue this is Tim talk powered by online big blue LLC want to talk about Daniel Jones I want to talk about the the rumors or the noise or or the Rumblings underneath the surface about how Drew lock should already be moved into the starting spot for the New York Giants how we should take over the CB1 position it's crazy it's it's asinine to even think it but you're you're already seen the Rumblings you're already seen the rumors you already seen the speculation you you're barely into the week two a training camp and and I think it's way too early to start hitting the panic button on uh on Daniel Jones I really do and it's one of those things that yes listen I I've been to a bunch to the uh the open Camp dates I really have and there are moments that you watch Daniel Jones play and you see a six-year quarterback and you cringe and and you're just like should he I mean did listen I have seen some bad quarterback play over the years in preseason I've been to so many different training camps I used to go up to Troy New York and stay there for a couple weeks uh when the Giants had training camp up up around there a and I I I I remember going back to even with my father and I've seen some poor quarterback play I mean hell Phil Sims had bad training camps Eli Manning had bad training camps the venerable Craig Morton had bad training camps which probably isn't a good example but he has it's just it's you we've said this before you use this to get all the bugaboos out you use this to get all that all your cups out of the offense and everything you know and move forward into another Direction hopefully you make all your mistakes now and then this way when the season starts you got all the hiccups out of the way now I will say this there there has been times in Camp where you watch Daniel Jones passing you're just like this is not a guy that should be a six-year quarterback he sometimes looks like a rookie and you're going into your three of the same offense and in some guard you're technically might be going into more like year five because of the fact that we're running a very similar offense that was run by Jason Garrett and Joe judge so you look at all this and you see everything and and I I've watched Drew lock play at camp and there Drew lock is had his moments and he's got better pocket presence than Daniel Jones but that's not saying much Kermit the Frog probably has better pocket presence than Daniel Jones but he's he's got I think a little bit more of a a command of of of what we're seeing so far in Camp offensively that that would be in reference to Drew lock but I don't think you can have him I don't think at this juncture you could Leap Frog Daniel Jones who's making $45 million a year I think you need to get in you need to get him into I've said this before Daniel Jones should play right now he should play right away he in in in preseason I know normally you don't give you know give players about a series in preseason uh back at the day used to always give players a series then then they would play uh you know the first quarter the stars and they would play into the second half and the third then the fourth game was was just was just nothing was just guys trying to makeing the team and staying off the Home Depot Squad but I think Daniel Jones needs to start right away and that and that's it you got to get them reps you got to get them in the game you got to see what you have is he is he going to be a shell of himself which isn't really saying much is not really it's really not really that great of a shell but you have to see if you do need to move on with the Drew lock experience and and like I said it before I I I cringe when just to having to think that we may go start the season with Drew lock I really do cringe because if your quarterback room consists of Daniel Jones Drew lock and Tommy devido which is your most important position you're pretty well so you might you might as well just throw your hands up in the air speaking of throwing my hands up in the air I I I I love it because uh the Giants claimed Mario goodr off the waiver WIS in the Philadelphia Eagles he started four years last he start he was playing four games I think started one last year for the Eagles every and again everyone's so excited I se I've seen on Twitter how exciting the signing was and how what a bold move it just was by Shane to grab this guy anyone remember majer Harper does anyone remember the the practice squad player modre Harper that we stole a bunch of years back from the Raiders practice squad and he basically did nothing the Eagles are a team that were decimated in in in the cornerback POS at the quarterback position cornerback and wide receiver position last year and they had such poor play that if Mario Goodrich can't make the roster or even stay on the roster outside of two weeks I I know teams make mistakes and let people go but uh that you have more you probably have a 80 20 % chance of him making the roster and that's a 20% chance of making 80% chance he's not going to make this roster but I mean that's that's just the way it is I mean you know there there's nothing you know I mean just everyone just got to relax everyone just got to relax take have a beer don't cost nothing we also had the uh the injury concerns to Brian Burns um and I love it because now we have the news that you know this the Brian Burns just shows how thin the Giants are yeah yeah it is yeah we we all know this this this just because you have these again it makes my f it makes my head hurt I didn't want to get into Hard Knocks but the Giants evidently had an opportunity uh to make a trade and and to make a trade um with with the Colts and and kind of get uh get some more assets um and and like I said they had an opportunity still to gra grab a wide receiver I think the bills showed you the the model about how you could trade out the first round and still get a high quality wide receiver in this draft in the beginning of the second round um but I I I just have this feeling that it's it's one of the it's this craziness that we turn down certain trades even even though they would have made sense to pick up assets to help this team move forward and move along because of the fact that we we we just don't have and this kind of going back to the Brian Burns thing we just don't have the assets we we just don't have the the wherewithal or the financial wherewithal um to to really make this roster and make this roster something special so when you have an opportunity to to make a trade where where you're going to pick up you know you're going to pick up I believe was the 15th pi pick uh uh you know another second rounder and then another pick next another second rounder next year you you got to kind of either jump at that chance or make a or sit there and make a uh make some kind of counter offer so you can literally turn around and build assets on this team through the draft I mean we're relying too much on on I don't know we're just relying way too much on on Joe Shane and I know you have to because he's the general manager but i i i g I I'm I'm sitting there over and over again I'm just not seeing it and I've been saying this for since the last year his cap management has been so atrocious that you look at it and you're just like what the hell are you doing Joe I mean it it's h how many times have we talked about it nothing has changed in this world it's it's always going to be the same thing that's not the way you're supposed to do it dad they want to has to do it I don't know that way why would they change math math is math math is math math is math it's not that hard Joe and I did like the one part about Shane Bowen when he was talking about uh uh going out and getting Tyler Newman how he's talking about he come in and contribute year one Shane you're really not a great judge of defensive acts you're secondary since your Inception in this league has been your Achilles heel and the only two years that you had equality secondary is when you had a we're not going to talk about it we've gone through the story a million times but when you had an angel on your shoulder who then went to take the St the defensive coordinator job in Cleveland and then as soon as that gentleman left you are secondary dropped back into the doldrums it's going to be an interesting season kitties let's let's just hope we get through this season let's hope let's just have some fun with it hard knock is going to end soon thank God because I really I really can't watch I really can't watch the show behind the scenes anymore but we're going to have a lot of fun this year guys we're going to have live streams coming up so make sure you stay tuned for that and as always don't to like start
