Meantime, lots of
other fall events are starting in Maine as well, and that means fall festivals with apple cider, Donuts, apple picking, corn mazes, all sorts of fun, all the fun follies, right? So our Hennies Chevy
has a look
at this year's Hurricane Meadows
Festival. It aims to support one of our biggest fisheries. A week from today, the Hurricane Meadows Fall Festival
in Falmouth is kicking off and one
of the biggest attractions is this 5 acre corn maze with the main
themed design. It's a lobstering theme
corn maze this year partnering with the main lobstermen's association
to raise money for our local
lobster men and women. Just trying to
help those
guys with with their battles and
and you know it's a it's a great industry
in Maine and we're just trying to
do our part
to help them out, helping them
while also having a good time. It's basically a way for families to get out get engaged in a community, a little taste of farming. We've got the corn maze, pick your own pumpkins, pick your own sunflowers, jumping pillows, paintball stations,
a bubble barn. Or be trained for kids. And the fun list goes on and on. Besides all the fun, festival owner Evan Putnam wants it also to be an educational experience for kiddos. Farming is is something that's that's disappearing at an alarming rate, especially in areas
that are, you know, impacted by the urban sprawl. And this, you know, Falmouth area is definitely
part of that. This farm is protected
by an easement. So it's a great way for us to be able to diversify and
keep this farm, you know, a working farm
for years
to come. This just adds a little bit of sustainability to it
and also engages the community, gets kids you
know thinking about farm where their
food comes from. Starting on Friday,
September 15th, the festival will be happening
every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
until October 29. Tickets are $12.00 and
a portion
of the sale of those tickets
will be helping our main lobstering community
