time now for another check on our weather meteorologist Ashton alteri is back and you're actually starting with hurricane hone give us the latest yeah it's there's actually some good news here because they've been under a drought in Hawaii so they're getting a lot of rain you mentioned up to 10 Ines they can get another 1 to three inches in some areas and they're not getting the damaging wind so lots of rain without the damaging wind so good news there in Hawaii bringing you back here too New York temperatures are warm we're in the 80s for most neighborhoods 80° right now at Central Park downtown we do have a few changes in the weather pattern for the new week storm chances will start increasing a little bit especially tomorrow and Wednesday of this upcoming week the humidity is going to be going back up it's been relatively comfortable for late August recently we're going to start seeing a change there you're really going to start feeling the heat again the hottest day will be Wednesday that's where temperatures will be back into the 90s and we feel hotter than that when you factor in the humidity temperatures today topped out in the 80s for most areas Somerville got up to 88 it was 85 for an official high temperature in the city 80s across the island today as well there's that 85 3° above average for the final week of August I've had a couple of spotty showers not much temperatures currently in the 70s from most areas the batteries at 79 degre uh currently elsewhere it's 86 right now in Bridgewater and 80 degrees in White Plains again you factor in the humidity it feels a little bit warmer and these dupoint numbers which is how we measure the humidity will be increasing over the next couple of days in fact right now compared to yesterday at this time dupoint is up 7° in New York City uh it's up 10 degre over in green witch so again those humidity values will be increasing for any uh Sunday night plans you may have temperatures in the 70s uh through Sunset 77 degrees at 9:00 p.m. overnight lows tonight dropping into the upper 60s lower 70s for most areas and then a quick warmup tomorrow 9:00 a.m. 74 by 11:00 a.m. tomorrow we'll already be at 80° there are just a couple of thunderstorms around tonight nothing severe but there is some heavier rain over near SP North Jersey those showers trying to make their way over into Morse County again nothing that is severe but you if you're over that way it may encounter a little bit of rain maybe here an isolated Rumble of Thunder so high pressure has been in control of our weather this weekend that's why it's been so nice that moves offshore here tonight into tomorrow and we got a trough a low pressure that swings on through so tomorrow there is a small threat for severe weather on a scale that goes from 1 to five right just a one for New York City it is a little bit higher threat over in Connecticut in the Far Eastern stretches of the island we don't want any rain especially in Connecticut where we've had all the flooding recently but there is a small small threat for some flash flooding there just something else that we'll keep an eye on here's the First Alert future cast pausing at noon tomorrow we're still mostly dry around the area but again Connecticut and then way over toward Rhode Island that's where most of the shower activity will be if we get anything in New York City it's going to be late in the day tomorrow closer to 78 p.m. and then that would be it and then again it's back to Summer weather with the warmer temperatures and the higher humidity a few thunderstorms in the forecast tomorrow about a 30% chance and then we've got about a 40% chance coming up on Wednesday and again that's going to be the hottest day of the week Jessica 92 DE after that we're back down into the upper 70s lower 80s to wrap up the week could that 92 on Wednesday be the final 90 degree day of the summer I hope so I was going to say one can only it's possible but you know it's happened in September so we'll see that will be the only 90day 90 degree day of this week which is enough something something thank you Ashton
