The Doctor of Medical Science Program is a practical  doctorate degree for practicing PAs and PAs that are   looking to advance their master's education. This professional degree is for working PAs. And it is for both seasoned PAs that have been out in practice for years to decades. But this is also   a degree for recent graduates that wish to advance  their career. Our graduates and alumni will be able to immediately apply the skills and evidence-based medicine to improve the patient outcomes.   There are a total of two tracks. There's a core  track that everybody will complete and then   there's a track that focuses either on education  or entrepreneurship. This degree, in general, is for committed, striving leaders that want to gain extra hands in knowledge and skills to advance their career. Even in the last 10 years, such a  significant advancement in the medical practice,   the evidence is necessary to discern whether a  process or treatment is effective. Without having skills in that, there may be detrimental outcomes for the patient. So as PAs, we're taught to be   lifelong learners and this is one of the ways  to be able to appraise the literature and is the   evidence to provide the best possible outcome for  the patient. If you're looking at our curriculum, in the healthcare entrepreneurship we will focus  on management, leadership, administration of a   healthcare organization, the regulatory and legal  issues, as well as the economics and finance that   is imperative to understand in the operation of  a healthcare organization. In the higher medical education, you will get skills for entering into the academic environment with full knowledge of   what being a faculty entails: being an effective  communicator, being an effective leader and being   able to absorb whatever responsibilities that the University may require. The Doctor of Medical Sciences for PAs that wish to advance  their career to improve knowledge, not just in a   patient environment for patient outcomes and a  patient treatment or management, but also in a   setting of administration, management, leadership,  in any field that they choose to go.
