Ohio State 56, Western Michigan 0: WMU Head Coach Lance Taylor Postgame Press Conference

tough night for the Broncos I thought we did not play well in all three phases tonight uh the team that uh showed up last Friday night against uh the Badgers uh unfortunately did not show up again tonight against the Buckeyes and Buckeyes are a really good football team they're well coached they've got good players on all three phases uh but we did not play up to our stand tonight tonight and I think that's the most disappointing thing and so you know it's my job to make sure that the team is ready um and I thought we came out with really great energy we just didn't make enough plays and play discipline enough throughout the game and so we'll get that corrected as we move forward and that's all we can do what did you learn tonight and what can you do with that going forward yeah um you know I learned that we didn't have enough consist consistency from one week to the next um I learned we weren't able to run the ball or stop the run which is how our team is built and when we don't do those team two things very well um we play from behind and and we're not a great team from behind last week Co had said that he thought this looked like a national championship team that they were playing I assume you share that assessment and if so why Ohio State's a really good football team they've got Playmakers at all three levels in all three phases um and they're really well coached coach day and his staff does an excellent job uh I was really impressed when I turn on the tape and and even more impressed in person they're a very disciplined football team and I think sometimes um when you're a very talented football team you're not always the most disciplined football team uh but they're both and that makes them very tough did they look like the same team in person as on tape because they played a little better tonight the cliche about playing your biggest Improvement coming in game two they look like the same team on they're bigger and scarier in person you uh just played two big 10 teams in a row can you compare being here as far as against being in Camp R yeah I don't really like comparisons what I will tell you is is this is a really good football team um they're very well coached and this environment is you know one of the best that I've ever been in I've been in some great environments the fans do an excellent job you can hear you can feel the history and tradition of this place this is a really cool place to play and they love their Buckeyes uh and you could see that and fill that tonight um the energy here was was awesome I think our players came in ready to play uh but this place is is uh really special place say who tennis about his status so he did not not play tonight he will be week to week he had a procedure but we expect to have him within the next week or two yep
