we've got some electrifying news for
all you Linkin Park fans out there. The band has just launched a mysterious
100-hour countdown timer on their website, and it's got the internet buzzing with
speculation! Could this be hinting at a new festival appearance, a surprise
album drop, or something else entirely? The countdown has also appeared on the Instagram
page of Welcome To Rockville, sparking rumors that some of the remaining band members might take
the stage at the 2025 edition of the festival, organized by Danny Wimmer Presents,
scheduled for May 15-18 in Daytona Beach, Florida. The countdown is set to conclude
on Wednesday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. Back in May, Billboard revealed that LINKIN PARK
was contemplating a potential reunion tour for 2025, featuring a female vocalist as a replacement
for their late lead singer, Chester Bennington. According to Billboard's sources, LINKIN PARK's
booking agency, WME, was reportedly entertaining offers for a potential tour that would include
headlining festival appearances, featuring Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, and Dave Farrell. One
source mentioned that the band was looking for a female vocalist to lead the reunited lineup, a
rumor that began in April when ORGY frontman Jay Gordon mentioned in a radio interview that he had
heard LINKIN PARK was collaborating with a girl singer now. When pressed further, Gordon added,
Don't quote me on that. I'm not sure who the singer is going to be, but I heard it was gonna be
female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting. Jay later seemed to
backtrack on his statements, posting on Facebook that he knew "nothing about any of that" and
claimed his words were taken out of context. In April, EVANESCENCE's Amy Lee was asked about
the desire among some LINKIN PARK fans for her to step in as a replacement for Chester Bennington.
She expressed her gratitude, saying, "That's an incredible compliment," after learning she was
a fan favorite for the role. Lee clarified that she hadn't heard of this before and had not been
contacted by LINKIN PARK about the possibility. She added that she is a huge fan of the band
and feels their fanbases have a lot of overlap. Amy added, "That's really kind. I don't
think we ever actually played shows together, though. I'm not sure if EVANESCENCE and LINKIN
PARK ever shared a festival lineup. But we did meet once; we were in the studio at the same
time. When we were making 'Fallen,' I had a brief conversation with Chester. He was very kind."
However, she clarified the rumors about becoming LINKIN PARK's new singer, saying, "No, that's
not true. But it's flattering. They should ask me about it! I don't have a lot of free time,
but I might consider doing it part-time." Thanks for tuning in, everyone! Let us
know in the comments what you think is going on—are they gearing up for a big festival
performance or maybe something even bigger?
