Dodgers postgame: Bobby Miller felt good but failed to execute pitches in 1st inning

[Music] ways for yeah it's kind of hard to put in words but um you know recently I've been feeling really good and I still felt really good today thought besides the first inning there was a lot of good in there um just a couple good fastball hitters couple bad pitch selection um yeah I could go back look and be like yeah I threw those balls in the corner but you know they're some good fastball hitters and just threw the wrong pitch at the wrong time um they just put some good swings on some not really bad pitches when you look at just I guess after the first two innings you're finding some more success really efficient what I guess adjustments did you make there in the moment to get those results yeah really just after the the three- Homer I seem to really lock it back in wish it wouldn't take home run to get locked back in each time um yeah it really just they they couldn't adjust to the chain today and I just started using it a little bit too late and if I used a little bit earlier I think things would have gone a lot differently and I would have gone really really deep into the game but um right now I just got to focus on the good really just watch that um at the end of the day after that 3 on over there was a lot of good um besides just a couple really good swings what do you think it was about those first five hitters was it just sort of being so fast ball the line early on or uh a little bit you know a couple of hitters obviously fell behind the count and they're obviously looking for a fast ball so doesn't matter where where I throw it they're going to put a good swing on it and just unfortunately it went over the fence um yeah it seems to be the story lately um um didn't put it in a really bad spot but at the same time was kind of in their Nitro Zone um where they hit the fast ball is Right Where I threw it I was aiming somewhere else and just missed my spot has that kind of felt like a recurring thing where you're falling behind a little bit too much to guys and having to kind of challenge him with the fast ball like that um sort of you know um thing is really just just a pitch selection thing on my part um not executing you know like it's not just the Homer it's what happens before the home run which was uh the the walk you know lead off walks are really unacceptable um that's just really not what you're looking to do as starting pitcher is walk the lead off guy and then obviously an HP you know those are really the the big Parts um otherwise it could have kept it a solo Homer but I don't know has the knee been affecting the mechanics at all these last couple outings with some of like that consistency of the command and stuff like that um oh today it actually it actually felt really good um way better than it did last week um just unfortunately it just yeah bad first inning today pitchers are going to give up runs but when you get when they jump out to that big early lead in the first inning how jolting is that for you um obviously not happy about it but you know um when you when you get out of that you know when that happens you just got to really forget about it and wash it you know that that that happened and you just got to forget about it and then move on
