Fishing Flanders Lake in Manitoba. Targeting smallmouth bass finding the odd pike!

[Music] hey fish Fanatics thanks for reeling on back to my channel and welcome to another video today we're going to go fish and explore Flanders Lake Manitoba this Hidden Gem may not be the biggest or most talked about Lake out there but it's Paradise for Anglers like myself who prefer Waters with less bow traffic yet still full of variety of monster fish so if you're looking for a new fishing spot or need inspiration on how to fish off your Stana paddle board be sure to subscribe like comment and turn on those notification bells for future videos so today I was looking for Smallmouth baths um but the different types of fish you can find in flers Lake include northern pike walleye and of course small milth bath um there's quite a variety of rock structure weedy areas and really Deep Pockets so it makes for a nice lake to go fish a variety of fish just make sure you have a pike lead on um if you're worried about losing a bunch of lures so I was just pointing out a little area that I was going to go try and fish and here is what we found oh it's a pipe oh dang it so from here we started moving our way um south of the lake down south of the lake there's a good 40ft drop so that's where we were heading we were trying to see what was down there and once we made it down there it was like pretty late so it was okay though cuz we ended up finding a nice little bass bucket you'll see coming up all right to my beautiful frog Here It produced so many bites today I'm going to go buy like 10 more of these because hot diggity dog oh also where do you guys buy wober ploppers someone told me I need to buy one and I can't find them for the life of [Music] me we had some action right here with the Frog and no full bite so we didn't get any takers all I want is [Music] you you [Music] here we go trolling along I put on a bottom bouncer and a it wasn't really like a pickerl rig but it was kind of just like a little floral leader with a hook and a jumbo minnow so I got a couple nibbles I think we were going a little bit too fast but I should have also mentioned I had nibbles so that my driver could have stopped [Music] so on our Mad Dash to the other side of the lake we saw this beautiful wall of rocks and wanted to fish it for a bit and we did just that so we changed up our lures again and tried it out for bit I stopped recording cuz we kept like moving and the wind picked up a bit so I kind of had my phone away for a little here we are towards the end where we found a little pocket of bass so I couldn't help myself I sat there and I waited and waited I try different lures here I am with like a bottom worm I was getting some bites but no takers and then I popped on that frog again and you'll see what happens [Music] I was so excited yet um after losing this I was so heartbroken but I learned so much like I shouldn't have lifted it out of the water and I should have just grabbed my net what was I thinking here is another angle so you can see what I did [Music] wrong honestly I think that's going to haunt me for a while for a long time until I catch a bass so I'm going to step up my game and catch a bass and redeem myself um came super close but no cigar so hopefully next time I did stick around and try my hardest to get another bass but we produced a lot of bites and we didn't get any so until next time maybe we'll be [Music] luckier so I had a cray fish on for a while then I put on a smaller one and I got a bit more bite so maybe that guy was a little bit too big um side note and pro tip for you guys if you're going to fish at night and go to a new Lake and test your limits like we did make sure you bring a headlamp or just get a little bit closer to your boat launch um before it gets dark we had a lot of paddling to do at night so it was fun and it was beautiful but we didn't have a headlamp on so I'm glad this Lake didn't have a lot of boat traffic because it's not always safe when you're not visible on the water at night time so we just make sure you have a headlamp and a life jacket of course [Music] I want [Music] you is you
