Fractal FM3 - Sound Like Linkin Park (Brad Delson Tones)

hey guys welcome back thank you for logging in so today I'm going to show you a little preset that I built in the past few weeks or month I've been working working on it um every now and then and just improving it and uh recording and just adjusting and you know if you're using fractal it's really uh you know you can play with it all day long for years so I think that I'm pretty pleased with the result and what you're going to see here we have I took the song um pushing me away from Hy Theory which is uh for me this is the best song for nink Park and um I do a lot a lot of my sound and uh tone chasing experiments using it and I'm using the original uh guitar tracks um which I found online and just built a preset uh using the uh the gear that I know that bread uses in the uh Studio sessions um the mesab boogi rectifier the Marshall amps um phasers flangers um anything that can you you can imagine and of course Noise Gate because many of the guitars that you recorded was really uh gated and uh compressed in the post production so what you're going to do here we're going to um play you the original track um from the record and uh how the guitar sounds when they're isolated and then I will play you this the the same part from my recording and I show you how I recorded everything and uh as you can see I did the quad tracks per per uh um per s side so we have four tracks for the left and for the right and basically each each rack is uh played by me uh over and over and over and over so I played everything eight times for the Reas sections and twice for the um background guitar and for the clean sound I just played once and I recorded in Stereo and we have an additional track here which is uh the true gem a Hidden Gem that nobody really know that exists unless you listen to the original uh isolated guitars so let's start so I will play firstly the original recording from the from the song and you can see and hear how the clear sounds uh are [Music] so this is bread I'll play it [Music] again and this is my part isolated [Music] again so it's a pretty stretch forward sound uh nothing that's special here I'm going to show you the preset and the scene so it's scene number one clean sound uh I'm using the peach block here with the advanced Wy um dialed to minus one just to have the uh semmit tones and the guitars set according to the original tuning because I don't have the drop pedal here from DD check that I uh sold a few months ago and it tracks pretty well um um but nothing like tuning your guitars to the original tuning um but this is what I have here uh I'm playing PRS c22 2006 flame mle toop on tune to E standard so this is how it sounds uh with the uh pitch um down to minus one semitone and the amp here is the USA pre clean um the settings are pretty straightforward nothing that special here you have the gain in the middle input in the middle um pretty low base M uh right afternoon uh quite a lot of trouble u i don't play that much and the cabs here the Mesa 4x2 v30s twice and no Reverb no anything else just pretty straightforward sound and this is how it sounds and this is how it sounds so we'll pray you um right again so you can hear [Music] it so let's move on to the the next section which is the orig sound so play the original track in isolated and you can hear the uh ROM [Music] guitars so let me just isolate everything that's required here so these are my guitars [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so what do we have here we have uh four tracks so um show the preset this is the scene so we have two amps here we have the Rector 2 red vintage and we have in Channel C and we have the breed 800 in Channel B so I have everything um each amp recorded four times on each side and I played every section um four times uh during the whole song and I'm using the gate here the classic EXP expender this is the settings and of course the page block um I'm using the this um cabet I found online I will share with you uh sounds pretty good mus it for both amp and in general uh what you have here if I just isolate all these guitars here this is what you hear [Music] [Applause] and if I do the same here a [Music] minute [Applause] so if you add these guitars which are really important for the song and the rhm section This Is How They [Music] [Applause] [Music] sound so licking Park is really known for the really sharp and um hard cuts when they're U moving from corals to clean sound and Distortion to clean sound so this is how it sounds they really cut it really sharp in the end so let's hear everything [Applause] together [Applause] and then it moves to the P [Music] [Applause] sound so now I'll play you the original track [Music] [Applause] [Music] so what you can hear here is showing in uh scene number three um so we have a Loa guitar here with a tremol Panner and a phaser and uh a low low f um EQ so this is how it sounds on my track if I just move it here so you have the clean sound starting and then the tremolo joins [Music] so let me just play it alone so this is how it [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] sounds so if I move back to the fm3 edit so you have the bias tram here I put it on depth 100 uh these are the settings uh 116th and in the tempo to have this you know just uh like a percussion effect uh the V also phaser these are the settings nothing espe here pretty high mix to have this phaser effect you can also add some phase effect here in the trol settings and the paramedic EQ here this is our with uh this is the curve and let me just [Music] play so this is how it sounds um so let's move on and hear everything together back from the clean sound with the [Music] Trel [Music] [Applause] so then it just repeat itself and then it go to the bridge and the final chorus so this is how it sound until the end of the song uh so if you want to play another song uh you can just um dial down the uh settings to three semit ton down and you can play uh the song uh on each amp that you like uh like better so let just say I want to play with the Rector uh so this is how it sounds [Music] n [Music] so thank you for loging in
