welcome back to another MLB recap video where I'm going over the best of Sunday's slate Justin Verlander took the hill for Sunday Night Baseball in his fourth start since returning from the I and paven Smith had a three-run homer earlier this is just the top of the third and it would be a grand slam so paven Smith off JV had two homers and seven ribbies he added the solo homer so this was the paven Smith game and a Dbacks win he had three homers and eight RBI and for Verlander he just made through three frames allowed eight hits eight earned runs walked one struck out none with 75 pitches his season ra is 5.3 but his erra in those four starts since coming off the injured list is north of nine right now and the underlying metrics aren't exactly saying he's just getting unlucky he's 41 years old and he's simply just getting hit around especially after this latest injury this latest setback so if you're the Astros you're going into the playoffs you have framber Valdez Hunter Brown and you say Kikuchi has Nob brainer guys over Verlander what do you do about a Spencer arti a rookie in the rotation or ryel Blanco what do you do because it feels like if you're running out Justin Verlander for a postseason game you're not giving yourself a great chance of winning at this point the Dodgers are going to pick up a series win against Cleveland but look at this swing from sh Tomy byby can't hang that change up there because that was hit 450 ft not an even an exaggeration that's what stat cast had it at and that is long ball number 46 for Otani he was just leaning it and willing it to stay fair so that means that sh Otani is in the 4646 Club so with 19 games remaining he needs to hit four more homers and get four more stolen bases let me know what you guys think is the 50 homers or the 50 stolen bases harder to ask for motani 19 games I feel like that's a pretty fair pace you get over four games for each Homer and you know shoh he can hit him in a hurry there's a chance he could hit four homers this week and then when he's getting on base he's always a threat to steal so it would just be incredible if he could invent the 50/50 Club just like he's inventing these new clubs like 46 46 along the way and Jack flare can't be understated how incredible he's been both with the Tigers but then since he's been traded to La he threw a shut out going into the eighth inning today the reds are going to get a go-ahead two-run single from Santiago espanol they're going to avoid the sweep and in turn they're going to snap a niname winning streak by New York Mets a winning streak that saw them overtake the Braves for the third wild card spot and in turn Shawn Murphy and the Braves are going to hit a walk-off against the Blue Jays in the bottom of the 11th so now the order is restored and it is flipped to a half game lead in the Braves favor but that can change dayto day right now it's electric to have a true playoff race between two divisional opponents at this point the twins are going to go into Kansas City and get swept there's a chance they well they definitely should have won yesterday they got blanked again today and Roco Bal Deli post game said that was an unprofessional series of baseball we played and that's all I've got for you in his post game media availability he wasn't open to any questions Ryan Jeffers said today was the angriest he'd ever seen baldelli a calm and collected manager most of the time and he said the timing of a postgame rant was appropriate with the Twins sliding dealing with injuries and everything here the Zack has leaders of the day subscribe if you like these videos
