State Police obtained by CBS Bo is located 20 mil south of e Exit 49 on I75 where the shooting took place the citation was followed by a neighbor after a neighbor called police that the neighbor told to his ex-wife just minutes before the shootings vowing to quote kill a lot of people and himself so far officers have recovered a silver SUV and an AR-15 r registered to him and they warn that he still may be armed in dangerous so the area is still on lockdown joining me now is the mayor of London Kentucky mayor Randall wed mayor thank you so much for for your time first of all what is the situation like right now in London when it comes to making sure residents there are safe uh we have a lot of law enforcements presence with multiple agency currently in our city and county um so tensions are high uh but our community is very resilient and um this is a strong Community but like I said the in law enforcement is agencies there's a lot of them here so there's a huge pres so a huge presence of law enforcement there mayor what are constituents telling you I mean are they still able to move around relatively freely are they afraid to go anywhere of course people are you know they are scared uh their tensions are high people are fr frustrated though they're they're frustrated that this is happening in our community and and we are still asking uh everyone here to be very Vigilant um if they are moving about and we know that uh crews are are searching you know constantly that they are working very hard mayor just describe the terrain out there because we know investigators have called it jungle likee it is it's very dense vegetation and rock Cliffs caves uh this is some very rough Terrain in the area that searching and you got to keep in mind this is where five people as we mentioned were shot and hurt with growing safety concerns many places are shutting down including schools and even churches Kylie Hill has that story it's been locked doors and lights off for several schools local businesses and even churches Kevin roach the pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Corbin says although he didn't cancel Services he knows of many in London who did we were far enough away I will tell you this we were extra vigilant on uh security and making sure that the place was safe and locked a few extra doors and had a few extra guys and places to make sure we were keeping an eye on things so I know several of the churches up here in the northern part of the County uh cancel services and appropriately so and I think that was it had I been up in the plate information as well as description of the operator of the vehicle a second 911 call was received from another motorist who advised his vehicle had also been struck and that a passenger in his vehicle had been struck the second caller was able to provide the same description of the vehicle and operator a third vehicle was later discovered that had been shot the vehicle was located on Interstate 65 near M Mark 8 near near the 84 mile marker a traffic stop was conducted by KSP chers the operator 51-year-old James Lewis Hooper of L was arrested Hooper was charged with five counts of attempted murder and five counts of wanting endangerment first degree Hooper in first degree Hooper's lodg in the Hart County jail oh that's interesting so this is a Kentucky thing that they do the
