Intro hey everybody welcome into the fantasy 6pack Network I'm your host Dylan Clemens here with me today is Joe Bond founder of fantasy 6pack and we are continuing our training camp checkin shows where we are going around to 32 NFL teams um interviewing a beat writer or reporter on what they've heard or seen at training camp in this episode we are excited to talk about the back-to-back Superbowl winning Kansas City Chiefs and here helping us do so is Mike Lindberg who is a your analyst over at the news desk playerprofiler Mike appreciate you jumping on with us in such a busy part of the football season how you doing today I'm doing awesome I just actually got back from the fantasy football Expo this weekend which is a blast if you haven't been down I highly encourage anybody to go down whether you're an avid fan or an analyst yourself uh it's a blast uh we had a great time I met a lot of good connections there and uh excited to be here talking Kansas City Chiefs ball with y'all yeah dude uh if you can't tell I've lost my voice from the Expo partially so uh I I guess we didn't run into each other there's a lot of people there but uh yeah it's a it's a great time absolutely yeah definitely upset I missed it this year uh before we jump into the interview I want to remind everybody please hit that like button please subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already um head on over to fantasy6 pack. netplay to become an all access member where you get access to our award-winning rankings draft cheat she and f6p Discord where you can ask all your custom off but without further Ado Joe let's jump into things hit Mike with the first question that we have for him oh so yeah we just reordered these uh because of course the uh wide receiver room if it wasn't Marquise Brown Injury already a little clout to begin with with the the possible rice you know debacle there um we've now got Hollywood brown with the injury um pretty still still pretty fresh news um just you know I think we're talking he's only gonna miss you know couple of games but I mean what do we expect from this W wide receiving core um especially now that he's going to be gone for a couple of games yeah I mean he was a guy that was really looking forward to seeing in this offense you know yeah they did draft uh you know Xavier worthy from Texas uh but I thought that was more of like a long-term play I thought that they they would ease worthy into the into the lineup you know there was that suspicion about Rashi rice heading into a suspension but I know what I have my doubts of that actually happening this year so when the Chiefs uh played their Jags this weekend uh that shoulder that uh Hollywood hurt well that that was a bad one because now we CAU wind four games four four weeks four to six weeks it could be up to two games and now it's actually going to catapult I would say worthy into that role right away which you know I think that's a really important thing to outline here is that now Xavier Worthy is gonna probably hop in and get that uh Field opening uh uh uh play right now and I think that's going to really open up the game for them uh I probably am a lot more high on on rushy rice headed in now um I I think without that suspension looming he was a guy had uh you know circled in as as a value right now in fantasy football you know he's uh had a really good strong end the last year and been shaping up to be very potential forward here for him as well all the buzz around him due to that impressive development big opportunity last year he made a splash he had 26 receptions in a single postseason so that was pretty good he caught on at the end of last year where his like Target share really crept up near the end of the year where he was playing on the field over 80% of snaps uh he didn't average that throughout the whole year but he was getting towards that and I can see that happening a lot more for Rashi rice headed into now and I think his ADP is going to reflect that it's gonna it's gonna catapult up now that we see mares Brown uh so you know weeks ago when he was a value and I was scooping him up everywhere in best ball I got him in my Scott Fishbowl I got him in a lot of areas because I saw that opportunity and I just wasn't sure who was going to get the the starting role uh on that burner on the outside rle so uh I'm glad I I still have all those shares of Rashi rice and I kept them and and I didn't sell and and I was actually buying yeah I uh I'm unfortunately a multiple Hollywood Brown manager at this point uh Scot fish is one and uh so first couple of weeks it's gonna hurt but I'm hoping he comes back and I I still think that he could be the wide receiver one in this like he's you know he's the he's the vet he's been around and you know I think it's safe to say he's got his best quarterback like real quarterback in his entire career I love Lamar but passing wise he doesn't you know he doesn't really stand toe-to-toe with with Mahomes so I think this could be a big opportunity for him it's just really the injury is super unfortunate but I like Ray as well yeah and I mean his his history of injuries is what was really concerning me I love the talent but he's just had a really hard time staying on the field for long stretches of time other than that one year when he was with Lamar in that mvp season there where I think had over 12200 yards uh in receiving six or seven touchdowns so he was a he was a top wide receiver so it's in his Arsenal and having Patrick Mahomes like you said best P pass throw he's had I'm really excited about Mahomes this year for sure well that leads us right into our next question and momes is coming off a Patrick Mahomes bounceback? little bit of a Down year um last year where he was drafted in fantasy football um we mentioned already the reworked wide receiver core do you see momes going to be back to putting up Elite U numbers this season I do actually I do and uh he's currently being ranked right now as the qb4 on Yahoo and I think that's a very uh you know there's some room for improvement there I think and he was uh finishes a qb8 last year and that's an anomally in my opinion he had a really subport receiving core there was a dip in League scoring and I think these are reasons to you know he's going to have a major rebound momes boasted the highest completion percentage of his career last year and his uh rushing yards were at an all-time high as well so I I could see this making a difference this year by the significant upgrades we talked about mares Brown and you know he's going to be a pivotal part of that offense and Xavier worthy as well Who's Gonna Fill In when Brown is not going to be able to be on the field Mahomes only threw for 27 touchdowns last year I can see that inflating and I think this is probably one of the best offensive units he's been around in his career um and and uh I just think he's uh ready to take off I think he's got the opportunity to really really shine in 2024 and I know I'm a homer I I I I support my Chiefs but I also I'm looking at it in a fantasy football respect lens as well and I just think with what's going on around the Chiefs uh in the division they have uh there there's a lot of opportunity for Mahomes to stay on the field stay healthy and deliver uh uh quarterback one numbers in 2024 absolutely I think you hit it the head on the you hit hit it right on the head man that 27 touchdown numers gotta go up I could see that jumping up to 35 you know that's that's a much more I feel realistic number than seeing 27 once again especially with these pass catchers now yeah yeah absolutely I agree with that um so jumping into Isiah Pacheco RB1? running backs here so no McKinnon now right and so we're looking IO is getting a lot of love from a lot of people um you know do you see anybody else even remotely competing with poo this season let me c is still there I mean no I mean not really I think Pacho is the guy uh I'm GNA talk about him as a guy at the end of the segment here uh as one of my guys you got to keep your eye on and uh and it's because of certain things that are happening in the back field for the Kanas City Chiefs we know that Clyde Edwards aair his fantasy Outlook is looking a little bit Rocky right now thanks to a mix of personal and professional hurdles the running back had missed a bunch of practices due to his illness and later it was revealed he had P PTSD so that's like you know inducing some vomiting so it understands why you know his his his career path has led to where it is now and maybe he's been a bit of a disappointment and he's fighting you know that behind the scenes and he's fighting behind isah Pacho but uh you know he's sharing reps right now in preseason with generic Prince and former rugby star Lou re zamit so both these guys are are competing for special teams roles but the one guy I think uh that that will uh maybe you know put some pressure on uh C and potentially do well at filling in if Peko were to miss some time and I'm talking about generic Prince and the name itself in training camp he isn't a guy that a lot of people have on their radar because he missed the large portion of last season uh because of an injury but the seconde running back is moving up the depth charts and he's showing promise Prince has you know he could secure a significant role he's had solid performance and workouts in early camp and uh I think he's set to make an impact this year he had a strong background he rushed for 1700 yards 14 touchdowns at Tulsa which fits well with the chief offensive style so the Chiefs like him they like the way he runs so he's looking to make the team right now as the third running back but if he continues to perform well he could catapult ahead of Clyde Edwards Air in that rotation and uh and you never know at that stage if an injury were to happen to uh Isaiah Peko who I'm really high on headed into this year yeah it's a name I've been kind of following anyway so I like to hear that yeah very good stuff there um looking at Is Travis Kelce still elite? the the last star of this offense and that's Mr Travis Kelce he's coming off a little bit of a Down year even though he was still first in fantasy points per game but we saw that number take a dip as he dealt with injuries last year do you think that we're kind of gonna see that as the normal thing for the rest of Kelsey's career or do you see him bouncing back to where when he was Elite well I think the I think it's a little bit of both because Travis Kelce is still an elite fantasy football asset but the thing about the landscape right now and tight ends is we're seeing that it's elevating we see the emergence of like Sam laa last year Trey McBride we're hearing Rumblings of Dalton Kade that's going to potentially be the number one Target in Buffalo so you're seeing these names uh emerge as well you got Evan Ingram who had 143 targets last year you can't discount that that as well so and Mark Andrew is coming back I know we got into a car accident roughly a couple minutes ago but it sounds like he's okay so we've got a lot of names floating in the top tier so I don't think Kelsey is ever GNA return to his Elite Form where he's you know the the Bonafide number one by like three or four fantasy points per week but he still has that Elite upside uh you know showing last year where he was finishing as the the the top tight end for fantasy points per game he did miss two games uh they decided to rest him uh and that means he was shy of that thousand yard Mark for the first time since 2015 but despite missing those games like I said 14.6 fantasy points per game no one else competed with that and his partnership with Patrick Mahomes it remains potent and it's going to be a fantasy asset if I think that momes is going to be a number one quarterback well that's going to directly reflect on Travis Kelce and he's being selected right now between tight end two tight end three around uh which I think is a good value for somebody that has shown year after year he can be there uh I I'd sooner take him over a guy like Sam leaport coming in I think that he's gonna have a hard time um repeating 10 touchdowns you know it's that's a sticky that's not a sticky stat so uh what is a sticky stat is 10 years of of production and uh you know being connected with a topend uh quarterback like Patrick Mahomes so I'm looking for him to reclaim his title as the top tight end in 2024 and with this mares Brown injury I think it's going to make the Chiefs need to use him earlier in the season uh than they wanted to in in more of a a role than they needed to because last year I'm sure you guys noticed that they were kind of you know nursing him a little bit especially uh in in in the middle part of the season and I think that's going to still be the case the Chiefs are going to be able to go into the playoffs and they know they can win on the road they did it this year so I I don't think first placees there is their ultimate goal it's it's getting into the playoffs healthy and winning a Super Bowl so I think what really helps Mar uh Travis Kelsey situation is the Maris Brown injury and having to bring along these younger wide receivers as well so uh yeah that's that's my take there yeah man I I I couldn't agree more about Kelsey over Le pora um got a little Flack for that early on but but I think it's starting to become a little bit Surprise player more of a popular opinion now so uh glad glad to hear that you agree with that so all right uh the way we've been ending each one of these is by asking uh the person close to the team here who is a player that you think is going to surprise people good or bad that fantasy managers need to pay attention to that they might not be right now well I mean there's a couple guys I've got circled now I mean earlier I was fading Xavier worthy quite hard because of that opportunity with mares Brown I talked about it in depth earlier in the show like now I I'm starting to come around a little bit more because of that opportunity but um you know everything's set in stone really in the Chiefs offense in my opinion like I mean you got your staple and Kelsey rashy rice is there he's not a he's not an uncovered gem at this stage of the game um so the guy that I'm looking at and and guys that you know people aren't you know having a whole lot of confidence in they're fading him a little little bit compared to some of these other guys and I'm talking about Isaiah Peko and I would be taking him over guys like um Tyron Williams who uh I think is uh is coming off a season where you know he's it's going to be hard for him to to to retain what he's doing sha McBay is not in bed with anybody as we know with with that running back position and they pretty much drafted a better version of Kiren Williams and and invested more draft capital and we all know the Rams don't have a whole lot of draft Capital go around so I got I think that Kiren Williams is gonna is going to come down Isaiah Pacho after last year is is a guy that I'm really high on he led uh the Chiefs rushing attack he almost had a thousand yards seven touchdowns he missed some time as well he still finished as a mid- tier rb2 finishing as rb4 and he missed a couple games he's stepping in and Jerick McKinnon's gone so we talked about that there is some uncertainty as the backup who is the backup there so that tells me that there's going to be a lot more opportunity where Peko can average over 20 touches per game I think he could be a solid ground force in games where the Chiefs are ahead and they're going to be ahead a lot you look at that division talk about the Broncos they play them twice the the the the Chargers are a complete disaster right now I'm thinking because of you know there's a lot of systematic things that they have to change there they didn't invest in their offense very much uh their defense is going to have some growing pain so I think that PCO is going to be in some game scripts where he's going to be relied on heavily in the second half where those 100 yard games creep up where they're going to be in scoring position where they may not want to use Travis Kelce as much in the Red Zone where they're going to use Isaiah Pacho so I'm gearing up for him to have another thrilling season expect him to deliver every week in an offense that's designed for excitement he's not just a reliable pick for fantasy teams he's going to be the driving force so I love Pacho this year I love the Chiefs off defense and uh you know I think they got a really good shot of three peating here I know everybody's going to be on them and they're the team to beat but uh they've only made improvements they signed Chris Jones longterm yes they lost lerus need but I think what I've seen in Camp they're going to be able to to spags is going to be able to get a guy into those positions and uh my biggest worry with them is their linebacking court and uh they've been exposed in the past there but uh we'll see what happens all right I I like it man I like it a lot um I I keep moving him up my poor just just ever so slightly so uh we will have to see uh if if we are right there um I did snag him in Kings Classic this weekend uh in my auction draft for I forget how much I got him for like 35 bucks 36 bucks so I thought it was a pretty nice value um so yeah I'm I'm hoping so good stuff man uh all right well that's it for the show I want to thank you for coming on this was great information uh before we close things out though let everybody know where they can
