in 1 of our reporters, who's there on the ground. in in Louisiana, right now, I do want to bring in Robert way with the fox whether he seek his dodging, their Robert, what can you tell us right now, About the conditions we can see, it's clearly worsening as this hurricane has made landfall. Yeah. Well, well, yes it made landfall as a cat, too several hours ago. We experienced the northeastern side of the eyewall which is the dirty side. The most violent side and now this is uh in a sense remnants of the eye and it's picking up. and the winds are intense right now. And when they come in strong, what happens is the tree branches start to fall and little particles from roofs and God knows what start to come down the streets and signs. uh begin to rip off and we've experienced that. Here's a bit of a piece of a roof right here. Emergency officials are on the ground, right now. uh, and people are going to monitor this throughout the night. There is no power in Houma, which is where we are at right in the southern. uh Coastline right before you hit the marshes, where the storm came ashore. New Orleans is going to be in trouble tonight with power outages and the potential for these Gusty winds. Same with Baton Rouge. Uh, when those when this system finally, uh, the brunt of it hits up there, which is The beginning right now. you're going to see thousands without power. We already have thousands of power in these areas right now. and the ebb and flow of all these winds coming through are very dangerous tonight. A curfew has been in a place here in Houma uh, since noon, it will not end until tomorrow. and that's exactly why. Because of what you're seeing on your screen. right now. Uh, people need to still take this very, very seriously. We are nowhere near out of the woods just cuz the landfall occurred. In fact, the worst situation is always occur in the aftermath of a landfall. so a category 2. And we are in for, it's going to head to Mississippi. Alabama. Uh, but before that, uh, this hurricane is going to rake over the big Easy and the Pelican City, New Orleans. and Robert. I I do just want to ask you quickly. I can see again. you're struggling Against the Wind and The Rain there. How a residents there responding have you seen anybody out in a while out and about in these conditions? or if they heated that strong advice to stay home at this time? People have stayed home at least in homo. We know that uh, these folks are very familiar. uh, with these systems when they come in, they've gone through it. In fact, some of the most historic, hurricanes in America, like Katrina, uh, 19 years ago. at this point and, you know, 2 years ago when we had the onslaught of 3 hurricanes in Lake, Charles uh, which is uh, to the west of us. Everybody has hunkered down. They take it very seriously, They know what they're doing here. nonetheless. nonetheless. there will be problems in the aftermath of this and I'm just going to Shield my face because of the particles that come down and that's why I have the helmet but that does not protect the bare skin. nasty out here.
