How To Run The Chip Kelly OREGON SPREAD Offense (College Football 25)

in today's video I'm going to show you how you can run the Oregon Ducks offensive scheme from the Chip Kelly era in college football 25 from 2010 to 2014 Oregon redefined college football with their blistering uptempo no huddle offense the Ducks mastered the Zone read option enabling their quarterbacks to make quick decisions and turn short gains into electrifying big plays and their offense was built around Dynamic athletes like L Michel James Marcus Mariota and DeAnthony Thomas their offense wasn't just about spreading the field to pass it about creating space to run the ball effectively using a blend of spread formations rpos and constant motion they kept defenses on their heels this explosive approach led to multiple top five national rankings in scoring offense two national championship appearances and a rose bll Victory under Kelly and later Mark HRI now this is going to be part of a bigger scheme I'm creating where I break down three historic teams that use spread to run offense in college football 25 and each will get their own in-depth breakdown video showing you how you can play like the real life offense did they are all going to be run out of the USC Playbook so you can combine them into one really Dynamic offensive scheme and I'll link the playlist for the entire scheme in the description below so now we're going to be breaking down the formations and Run game that we are going to use for this Oregon offense now we're going to start with the 2x two spread formations and these were a staple of the Chip Kelly offense and we're going to be using the gun spread formation Now by spreading out the field with two receivers on each side this alignment forces defenses to defend the entire width of the field creating wide running lanes for our Run game and natural mismatches on the outside to pass the ball so the run we're going to be breaking down in this formation is RP read slide and we want to run this to the wide side of the field and once we snap it we're going to have that normal read option on the inside and if the outside is closed off then we can just hand this ball off up the middle and get whatever yards are there but if we see the edge collapse down on the running back then we can get to the outside and while this is happening we're going to have our slot coming across the formation and going to the flat as we get out on our read option now we can just get up field and start making plays with our QB in the open field as a ball carrier but where this gets crazy is when we get up field with our QB if we suck Defenders into our quarterback then we can flip it to the outside to our slot and now he'll have blockers out in front and he can just get a ton of easy yards I call this the modern triple option and this toss out to the edge can be an absolutely amazing way to move the football and get your playmaker the ball on the edge in space trips formations are another huge component of the Oregon spread and for us we're going to be using gun trips now trips are great to create mismatches and force defenses to declare their coverage this overload on one side can unlock some of the most unique route combos that can attack any coverage we Face plus we can still use a ton of our Run game if they stay spread out to match our offense now in this formation we have RPO read screen and come out with your screen to the wide side of the field and before this snap check the screen side and if you have the numbers Advantage then you can just flip it out your receiver get him behind your blockers and you should be able to get some really easy yards this will force defenses to stay spread or you can just fire this out whenever you want to for a ton of big gains on the outside then if you look in the screen is taken away then we're going to have a read option and if the edge crashes get to the outside and you can use your athletic QB to get some big yards on the edge then if the screen is taken away and the edge player takes the quarterback then we can just hand this ball off and you should have a lot of room to get some easy yards up the middle then the third formation we're going to utilize is split slot off set and the Ducks love to bring these two running back formations to their offense this let them have three possible ball carriers in the back field and it made it super difficult for defenses to match the speed and playmaking this brought to the table and these looks are going to do the same thing and for us we're going to have a wicked RPO package that we will be using in this formation along with some really good down the- field passes so for our split back look we're going to be using RPO re counter this play will have one of our backs fire out of the backfield on a swing pass and if the defense stays inside you can fire it out to him and he's going to have blockers out in front and he can make some big plays on the edge this is going to be a go-to play in this scheme and this swing can be very tough to stop and you're going to want to go to it a few times early in the game cuz we have some passes off this look that we are going to go over later that are all set up by this swing pass then if the user leaves the middle to take the swing now we're also going to have a read option on this play and now we can just read the edge and if he stays on the QB we can hand it off but if he crashes on the running back then we can just keep it with our quarterback get into the open field and start making plays on the edge of the defense then once teams schemed to stop the run the Ducks unleash their drop back pass game this was built around coar spread passing Concepts Chip Kelly's offense was adapt at using these Concepts to exploit defenses keeping them off balance and creating big play opportunities by seamlessly integrating these pass plays with their potent Run game Oregon's offense became nearly Unstoppable so here we're going to dive into the essential pass plays that made this offense so Dynamic now the first spread essential pass concept we are going to look at is why Crossing gun spread this is one of my favorite Zone beating spread Concepts first I like to look at the hitch and the slot and if they are in an off coverage I just throw the hitch right away and grab those easy yards but then the backbone of this play is built around the Deep cross that gets to some super deadly areas of the field you can wait and hit it in along the side line or if they leave the middle at the snap you can quick throw over the middle of the field and then we also have a deep spot route that is going to sit down in the zone defense and is super difficult to take away especially if the user starts to run with the Crosser then we can just fire this in a ton next up we have stick wheel in gun trips and this is an amazing play that has multiple vertical options first we have the zost that will cut in front of the deep coverage but in behind the linebackers for huge pickups down the field then we're also going to have a wheel that we can hit down the field for some big gains in along the sideline this is going to work if the deep blue Defender gets pulled back then we want to back shoulder this wheel and drop it to our receiver in on the sideline then this play has multiple checkdowns with the slant over the middle which is great if the user leaves then the running back if at the snap you see the flat Defender is dropping way back then you can just throw this running back right away then our last passing essential play is going to be shakes this is a great man beating option and has routes attacking each sideline and once you get the timing right these C routes are incredible to beat man coverage the key is to throw these on the receiver's break and they will be wide open then if they have no Deep Over the Top we'll also have this Z post that will break down the middle and we can bomb them deep over the top four huge pickups then lastly we have a running back on a Texas route in the middle of the field and is's a great underneath checkdown option then if you want to take this offense to the next level you need to check on my website scheme Kings up right now at the second part of this Oregon spread to run offense it's going to be nine more plays for this scheme that you can combine with the stuff you find in this video and it will make this offense so much more difficult to stop then there will be a ton more videos coming up on the site for this offense that will be exclusive to scheme Kings then there's also two other mini schemes up for this spread to run offense on the site already that you can add him with this Oregon scheme then on defense I have a full defensive scheme on the way we're going to be breaking down Nick sabin's match defense at Alabama it's an incredible way to lock down your opponent based on how the real life tide dominated college football defensively and that will start dropping next week by subscribing to the site you'll also get access to all my Madden 24 content plus when Madden 25 drops you'll receive all that content plus the NCAA stuff for one price so for the site you can purchase the yearly membership which will save you $50 over the course of the year then I'm also running my spread to run offense sale on the site and that will go until August 20th you can use code spread 25 to get 50% off your first month if you do the monthly membership so if you want to check out scheme Kings I will link it down below now this is going to be a new section I'm excited to include in my videos here we're going to break down what we can learn from the real life implementation of the Oregon offense and how we can apply those strategies to our scheme in college football 25 we're also going to cover some game plan and elements you can use in game now one of the keys with using this Oregon offense is buying into the fact that this is a spread to- run offense so if they give us the Run we want to take it whenever it's there and run the ball down their throats so our goal is to use our spread formations like gun spread and gun trips to spread defenses out now if defenses stay spread out to match our personel and their safeties are staying back then we always just want to run the ball vers these looks and we're always going to have the numbers advantage in the Run game now if they start bringing Defenders inside and not staying spread this is where we want to go to our rpos like RPO read slide and RPO read screen now we can attack the edge of the defense with the rpos where because they bring Defenders inside we're going to have the big numbers advantage on the outside and we're going to put defenses in a no- win situation then lastly if they start to bring safeties in the box now this is when we're going to have have an advantage in the past game and now we want to call some of our vertical shots and attack them down the field because they don't have safety help deep the next huge element of the Oregon offense is constraint plays these feature a motion or element of the play that defenses will have to cheat to stop then once we have them cheating we can go to the next version of the play that will make the defense pay for being out of position so the perfect example of this is going to be our RPO swing series and our split slot off set formation they will all be set up by our RP read counter with our running back getting out on the swing where we can get him the ball and he can make plays on the edge but once we see the user starting to leave the middle of the field to take this away we want to go to plays like motion wide cross and now when the user leaves the middle of the field to take the swing we'll have the deep digg and Crosser attacking the middle of the field where the user was and now we can just fire it in to whichever one is more open for a big game to set this play up just come out with your swing pass to the wide side then take your other running back and put them on a swing to the short side of the field and now if the two crosses are covered down the field he can be a really good check down option as well the other constraint play we have is going to be off the motion double pass now this play starts with the same running back motion but now we will pass it off to the running back but it is actually going to be a backwards pass and now our receivers will fake block then streak down the field and if the Defenders bite down then we can just throw it deep over the top to the streak for a huge game but then if you run this play into the Defenders actually stay with our receivers down the field now we can just take off with our running back get into the open field and pick up whatever yards are there then lastly I want to get into how we can sequence our plays for this Oregon offense so here our aim is to use the Run game or RPO game about 40 to 50% of the time this is really going to force defenses to adjust to have to stop the run and until they do we want to just keep running the ball next up we have our deep vertical shots and this should be about 20 to 30% of our play calls and once they start overplaying to stop the run and bringing safeties and squeezing their defense down we want to start taking vertical shots down the field then the remaining 20 to 30% will just be easy chain movers and quick passes that we can use to keep defenses H us get the ball out of our hands fast and stay ahead of the sticks now with just what you have here for this Oregon offense will be great but then remember there's part two for this Oregon o up on scheme Kings right now that is going to make this game plan way more difficult to stop but then if you want a full breakdown of the idea behind my full spread to run offense and a deep dive into the Personnel we will be using for this scheme then you need to check out the intro video for this whole offense right here
