John tenniswood the world's most elderly living man has celebrated his 112th birthday in his Southport care home with a birth date on August 26th 1912 the same year at the Titanic sank the liver pudan became officially recognized as the oldest living man globally this April when questioned by Guinness World Records as to the key to his long life he straightforwardly replied that it is just luck when asked about reaching the Milestone age of 100 12 he indicated no significant change in his feelings stating in all honesty no different continuing John explained I don't feel that age I don't get excited over it that's probably why I've reached it taking a rather casual approach towards life trials he reiterated I just take it in my stride like anything else why I've lived that long I have no idea at all dismissing any claims of unique lifestyle choices he added I can't think of any special Secrets I have I was quite active as a youngster I did a lot of walking whether that had something to do with it I don't know but to me I'm no different to anyone no different at all responding to a question regarding the major changes in the world during his lifetime his perspective remained firm it's no better in my opinion or hardly any better than it was then probably in some places it is but in other places it's worse again stress stressing the importance of chance and Longevity he told Guinness World Records it's just luck he elaborated stating you either live long or you live short and you can't do much about it despite many sarian attributing longevity to diet this isn't the case for John besides enjoying traditional battered fish and chips every Friday his diet does not follow any specific regimen I eat what they give me and so does everybody else I don't have a special diet he said John who has lived through both world wars is the oldest surviving male veteran of the second world war he served in an administrative capacity for the army pay Corp handling accounts and auditing as well as logistical tasks like locating stranded soldiers and managing Food Supplies after his military service he worked as an accountant for oyal Giants shell and BP retiring in 1972 a diard Liverpool FC fan Mr tenniswood was born just two decades after the club's establishment in 1892 he has witnessed all eight of his beloved team's FA Cup victories and 17 out of their 19 league title wins he met his wife bladwin at a dance in Liverpool they enjoyed 44 years of marriage before her passing in 1986 they also had a daughter Susan who was born in 1943 since celebrating his Centenary in 2012 John received Daniel ual birthday cards from the late Queen Elizabeth who was nearly 14 years his Junior the record for the oldest man ever is held by J and Kamura of Japan who lived to be 116 years and 54 days old before his death in 2013 currently the title of the world's oldest living woman and person is held by tomyo Iuka of Japan who is 116 years
