Intro And we are continuing to track power outages around West Michigan. This is a look at the consumer energy map right now. There are scattered outages around the state affecting thousands of people. Chris Leer, the Vice president of Electric Operations at Consumers energy is joining us live now, Chris, thank you so much for joining us. Yeah, thanks, Lorna Josh. I appreciate you having me. Thank you so much, Chris. What is the situation The kind of the first question we wanted to ask you overall was, you know, what just, what is the situation out like right now in West Michigan? What's it looking like? Yeah, we've got a lot of heavy snow that came through before. As uh we talked about with the weather report, we saw some higher winds today. We're starting to see that lake effect machine start to pick up. Um Overall, the crews are doing a great job. We really appreciate, you know, the road commissions getting out and helping take care of that road. It's making our job easier as we're out restoring power and as the winds pick up and the temperatures drop will crews still be able to get out there and fix those down lines. Yeah, they sure will. They're, uh, they're used to this kind of condition. Uh, they'll make sure that they're out working around the clock to make sure that we're storing power. We have brought in crews from nine different states as far away as Colorado, Oklahoma, Alabama and New York. So, we've got about 450 total crews on the system right now. Safety tips And if someone does lose power, should they assume you're aware of it or should they call you or email you? What, what should they do if anything it's always to go ahead. Good to go ahead and call 1 804 77505750. And let us know, uh, we'll make sure that we get out and take care of it as quickly and safely as we can. And of course, in winter weather, like the safety is top of mind for a lot of people. What are some safety tips you want to share tonight? Yeah, one thing just wire downs, please stay 25 ft away. Uh, make sure that you're calling us again. That number is 1 804 775050. Reach out to us. We'll get somebody out there to assess the situation, make sure that we're taking care of it. And then again, if you're gonna use a generator, especially a portable generator, make sure you've got them outside, well ventilated, make sure that you don't have those in a garage or inside a space? All right. Thank you so much for joining us tonight, Chris. Thank you.
