The Florida QB Controversy

I mean it's gotten to the point where Florida fans are telling gr Ms he needs to make a door Dash account here's where things really and I mean really get fascinating Billy Napier's job in livelihood is riding on this quarterback situation and here's all I'm going to say about it he better make the right choice because if he doesn't he's going to be fired there's a plethora of different topics we could have talked about in tonight's video but the one I've circled and it sort of compelled me the most out all of them is the Florida quarterback controversy and what's so interesting about it is guys it is only week two or my apologies week two just ended it's now week three two weeks into a college football season and we're already having quarterback problems I mean what is going on by the way we're not doing no intro none of that I don't got time to waste you don't got time to waste either we're getting straight into it we don't got a jam-pack video for your Wednesday night this is the one and only topic we're going to talk about because I think it's that important for those of you that aren't too familiar with the situation and what's going on let me catch up to speed last year's quarterback Grand Merz he returned this year so presumably he was going to be the guy and he's going to be the starter but and I have an extremely big butt you better believe this he got banged up in game one so he didn't play in week two and also it didn't help that Florida laid an egg in week one and it's not that I think Florida fans hate Grant Merz it's more so of when you lose by 20 30 points however many points they lost by to Miami fans they want to see a change somewhere because that's what we think okay to fix this we got to change something whether that's the quarterback position play calling something something something and when your offense isn't scoring points by default every single fan in the nation goes okay we got to change a quarterback which really didn't matter because heading into week two against Sanford gr Merz he didn't even play and DJ lagway the prestigious fivestar recruit he got to start I have made this astronomically clear on the channel I do not care about what you do in a cupcake and matter of fact we don't even talk about them whenever we do the preview and recap videos if your team for example Ohio State you b a cupcake not talking about him unless it's a close game like Notre Dame and you lose to a cupcake and the riding was on the wall you knew this was going to happen lagway is going to go out there against Sanford and have a pretty good performance and he did just that I forgot his stat line to be exact I'll pull it up but I know he was like 18 for 25ish something like that and had 450 passing yards I will pull it up though just to be exact okay here it is Florida 457 lag we in this game okay like I said 18 for 25 456 3 touchdowns Zer on qbr of 85.1 very nice very nice even though it was against a cupcake and a team that is is completely inferior to Florida you played great and something's got to be said about that and maybe some of you are impressed with this performance but for me myself I am not I could care less yeah he looked good but anybody can look good against Sanford the reason I bring this up is because when Florida fans saw this performance you would have thought they saw the finest girl in high school just walk past them they were and currently as the one I'm speaking still are googly eyes over DJ lagway it's the greatest analogy I can give you it's when you're an underclassman and you see that very pretty beautiful hot whatever you want to call her senior she walks past you and you think she's the next best thing since sliced bread that's the same predicament Florida fans are in and here's the thing DJ lagway might be there's a chance he might be the next best thing since slice bread we don't know but similar to the hottest gr inia High School yeah it looked good at first glance but you got to get to knowwhere you don't know if DJ lagway is a guy you just got a glimpse of them and Florida fans as where it stands right now they don't care they done forgot about that girl they was talking to who was a five or six out of 10 they're focused on the 10 out of 10 which is like way it's crazy to think but Grant Merz is essentially an afterthought for these Florida football fans I'm not saying you're wrong for doing that it's more so of I'm explaining to you what's going on it's human nature Florida football fans have simply fallen in love with the thought of What DJ lague can be one day I'm going to continue to say it he might be everything and anything you think he's going to be in your head but we don't know until he plays some serious teams or he plays three four five everywhere they rather him be the starter moving forward than Merz if you want my two cents on situation I'll give it to you as to where it stands right now I would go with Merz but I mean we're talking about splitting hairs to give you my perspective I'm leaning 51% MZ 49% lag weight it's that close for me and the only reason I give Merz the very I mean very very very very slight Edge is due to experience and I also think MZ is a very solid quarterback he was solid for Florida last year but with that being said I'm also trying to convince myself that lagway since he is this true freshman and he's so young there's this saying that goes something like he might be too young and dumb for his own good which means these freshman sometimes don't even realize oh there's supposed to be pressure on them to perform cuz a lot of times these young dudes that go out here with zero expectations and pressure and they ball out they don't really think of it as oh I got a big time game against T A&M they just viewed as hey I get to start this is pretty cool I'm playing a Collegiate football game it's not similar but it's kind of like the gian's L mentality you just go out there and you don't care you just play ball like he's in the backyard as a kid and with lagway I get those vibes he's just playing football and he's having fun with that being said moving forward Billy Napier has made this clear it's going to be a two quarterback system well it's not labeled as a system but you get what I'm trying to say they're going to be playing both of these guys which is going to be super interesting and it's always a double sword when you're playing two quarterbacks here's what Napier had to say quote unquote we're going to do what's in the best interest of the team I think both these players can make our team better I think that's what we intended to do the great thing is there is a great relationship there confidence humility from both guys and a healthy respect from the team and staff for both players Florida's defensive lineman Tyreek sap stated quote unquote you want to get bit by a rattlesnake or you want to get bit by a cobra pick your poison either way I think you're going to die referring to his quarterbacks so if you do want to take a positive out of this I guess guess at least you could say the team's back in both players which is great but for the fans it's not the same scenario they want to see Lag Way here's where things really and I mean really get fascinating Billy Napier's job and livelihood is riding on this quarterback situation and here's all I'm going to say about it he better make the right choice because if he doesn't he's going to be fired Napier is walking on a thin and I mean a very thin line if he handles this poorly and Florida goes out here and finishes five and seven six and six you Can Say Goodbye however if he goes out here and let's say for the say of this video Grooms DJ lway to be a starter and they somehow sneak out seven wins this year maybe best case in scenario by the way eight wins will keep his job probably because remember he got lagway coming back and you almost feel like for the sake of his job all of his eggs have to be in one basket with lagway because he's the future it's a tricky and delicate situation going to be interesting to see how he handles it don't worry I'm sure he'll screw it up let's talk about the coreback Battle and what to expect Florida plays T&M this week so this is a big game I'd argu and say it's a bigger game for Florida than Tex A&M because T&M during a rebuild you could say Florida's in a rebuild but their coach he's on the hot seat so a little bit different there's this old saying in regards of a quarterback battle and it goes something like this if you have two quarterbacks you have none and for me the reason why I've never liked a two quarterback system and that's what this is looking like it's going to be is because whoever's in there he's always overlooking his shoulder after every single incompletion or play he's like oh no was that good enough am I going to get benched etc etc and that's probably going to happen here grm mer has a couple three out or even throws a pick has a fumble you know he's going to be thinking oh man I'm going to be pulled out of this game you can't even play football freely thinking like that and it's the same thing for lag wve he goes out there and he throws a pick throws one in completion the first thing that's going to come into his mind and it's not a bad thing it's just human nature think this way is oh man coach probably going to P me if I don't get this hack together I think against A&M it's going to go something like this MZ he's going to be your starter and if he plays good from the jump he's not going to be pulled out of that game no way maybe lague gets in there for like a trick play or something but it'll only be like one or two snaps I'm talking about legit series as long as merch is playing good he is going to play that game but if merch is struggling in the first quarter and going into the second quarter that's when you see a quarterback change but that's also a trecky situation cuz then you're throwing in a true freshman in a hostile sec game I still believe it's mertz's job to lose but I guess we'll have to wait and see the only way I believe lagway just goes in there and wins the job and never looks back is if he plays outstanding against Texas andm if he does come in and the week after that if lagway has two just stal performances like he had against Sanford it's over for GR Merz he can pack his bags because at that point in time he'd now have three really good games under his belt A&M who are they play after and Sanford if you're a Florida fan I'm curious let me know in the comment section or even even if you're not a Florida fan who do you prefer Merz or DJ lagway and also explain to me in the comment section why it's one of the more interesting
