The TRAGIC Downfall of Florida State QB Deondre Francois

night I informed DeAndre French wall that he is no longer a member of the Florida State football program as we build a new culture and foundation for FSU football we have high expectations for all of our student athletes and we will not sh away from those high standards of conduct we are moving forward as a program so just like that he's off the team 3:00 in the morning I'm on my londay break M I'm working overnight bro and I'm in the car crying dog just balling out just crying cuz I'm like they asked him like bro you work out bro what you do that uh used to play sports and G The Rundown after I was talking to them about it on my lunch break I just Bal out crying cuz I'm likeo what am I doing here what is going on bro like how did I end up here how did I get from that Old Miss game to stacking you know bread seeing what bread like you know what I'm saying it was just a crazy a crazy time all this was happening so fast but to make the situation even 10 times more interesting than it already was his girlfriend would post this on her Instagram Story the following day a little under 10 years ago there was a red Shir freshman quarterback Who Came onto the scene out of nowhere and he was making a ton of noise the guy was absolutely balling out and how about this in his first ever career start in the season opener against 11th rank Old Miss he had 419 passing yards he was very promising showed flashes of greatness it looked like we was about to see The Next Star Quarterback at the college football level or at least that's what we thought this is DeAndre franchis the main character and subject of this video despite having a fantastic freshman season only a couple years after that he'd be kicked off of his team that goes by name of Florida State I wish I could tell you his story is simple but ladies and gentlemen boys and girls believe me when I say this it's not this young man's fall from Grace is easily one of the most tragic downfalls I've ever covered I don't want to sound too corny and cliche when I say this but he went from hero to zero just like that within the snap of a finger and what's even more interesting about his story and it's what captivated me the most when I was doing all my research and gathering information for this video is it somewhat of an unsolved mystery I know I know I know exactly what you're sitting there saying Matt what are you talking about an unsolved mystery what's going on let's just say there's about a four to we'll say 8 month stretch in his life that was very very and I mean very weird it involved his coaching staff the police his girl drugs Mary Jane and some other things we're going to get into and you'll see there's a lot to it you're just going to have to take my word for it there's many questions people have been ask about this guy even until this day but however it all cires back to the one and I mean the one big question we're going to try to get to the bottom of in today's video what really happened to story we got to throw it all the way back to where thing started what's very important to note in deandre's story is not only his mother but he himself wanted a better future so they decided it'd be best if he would transfer to IMG Academy and finish on his high school career there things at IMG Academy went according to plan when it was also and done he was regarded as a four-star recruit and one of the top quarterbacks in the nation per usual with any four-star quarterback recruit a lot of schools wanted him but he decided to commit and sign with the Florida state cinnamon rolls he arrived on a campus at Florida State in the year 2015 and there is nothing to say there because he red shirted so we are going to fast for time until the year 2016 where as a red shirt freshman he won the starting job and his first ever game as a starting quarterback for the Simmon rolls this is when he led his team to a 45 to 34 victory over 11th rth oh miss that was also the same game in which Florida state was trailing by more than 20 plus points at one point in time French wall led the comeback 33 for 52 419 passing yards yeah that's not too bad and two touchdowns I think we're on the same boat here it doesn't matter if you're a freshman junior or senior that's an outstanding first career start as the season would continue to progress for franu and Florida State they hit some bumps in the road had a devastating two-point loss to North Carolina and a three-point loss to a very good Clemson team at the time you don't think too much about it in of course hindsight's 2020 but after losing to Clemson they won out they would on a five-game winning streak beat a top 25 Florida team and a top 10 Michigan team in the bowl game looking back at it you could say Florida state was a couple plays away or maybe about 5 to 10 plays away from finishing the year 12- one looking at the Louisville game there's not anything you can say about that inexcusable but the North Carolina and Clemson game those were two and three-point losses and that was his freshman season so Florida State fans were really hopeful heading into 2017 unfortunately 2017 would be one of the worst seasons in Florida state's history in a very long time this is also where our story already starts to take a drastic turn so you might want to lock in for this the season opener there was this big time heavyweight matchup you had number one ranked Alabama and number three ranked Florida State this was supposed to be an amazing Chick-fil-A classic game but it turned out to be a snooze Fest it was a really boring game to watch there was no offense whatsoever Alabama was winning 10 to7 at half and they wound up win the game 24 to7 so they shut out the Simmon rolls in the second half but the biggest storyline of this game is while Alabama was dominating in that second half and the game was already over franu with about five to six minutes to go in the fourth quarter he suffered a big time injury as you can see right here he wound up suffering a knee injury in which would cost him the rest of the season can't tell you enough how much I empathize with franchis because as a former athlete myself I also got hurt heard in one of my first games of the season and it's tough you put in all that hard work Blood Sweat and Tears in the offseason to get ready for that first game and just like that it's over all those early mornings and late nights grinding it's all for nothing at least that's how it feels sad man it's very very very sad Justin Blackman he takes over finishes the remainder of that 2017 season as a quarterback for Florida State and speaking of Justin Blackman we in the crap is that guy maybe we should make a video on him but different conversation for a different day with all that being said though here's the side of injuries that don't get talked about enough at least in my humble opinion and that is no other than the mental toll it takes on these athletes I don't believe in oppression not to say that it's not real but I refuse to tell myself that it is real to give myself that excuse to not work hard grind and do the things I need to do on an everyday basis a lot of people out here that are losers or they're not doing anything and this is going to sound cold and harsh but it's the reality that's their one excuse oh yeah well I didn't want to get out of bed today cuz I'm depressed you see what I'm saying whereas for me I would just say oh well I'm really sad but I still got to get up and do things it's similar to let me give you a better example it's like ghost hopefully this puts into a better perspective some people believe in ghost and some people don't that's where I stand with depression anyways I share that with you to get into this a way to get out of your sadness a way to not be depressed is to constantly be doing things 24/7 when you're constantly doing things it's going to take your mind off of whatever is affecting you one time I remember my granddad telling me when he was growing up he couldn't afford to be depressed what did he mean by that he meant he was so poor that he didn't have time to sit in his room and think about how terrible his life was how this situation sucks how this is awful no he was working Sun up sun down every day seven days a week there was Zero time whatsoever to just sit chill relax or Sul and complain or do any of that it kind of goes hand inand when you hear these older people say oh with a younger generation they're so soft nowadays I think they're right like I've already said multiple times if you're just sitting in your room in pure pitch black dark watching movies all day telling yourself that your life sucks and you're just thinking about all the bad things that has happened to you well heck yeah more than likely you're going to be depressed I would be too here's why I share that with you franchis while he was hurt he couldn't hang out with the football team he couldn't work out with them play with them practice etc etc he just had to stay at home and rehab the injury and when I say stay at home not like his actual home but in his dorm room or wherever staying at in Florida State he gives us a very good Insight of what it was like and I'm going to use a bunch of other clips from this podcast so major shout out to Javen Elliott he did a podcast with DeAndre franois that's over an hour long it's very good very insightful I'm going to leave a link to it down below in the description go check it out U the season not starting yet I'm still trying to get healthy to see if I can play in the spring game so that's early in the year I started hanging around the wrong people and meeting the wrong people you'll notice right there and of course I know why he said this but you don't he stated I was hanging around the wrong people although in this interview he didn't go into more detail I know exactly what he's talking about and I'm about to share that with you in just a second I started to look for what I was missing in football you know and other things as like femal so I started dating this girl and I was very vulnerable at the time and I felt like I need somebody there you know what I'm saying and you know when we met it was in a time where I did need somebody where I was vulnerable where I couldn't even use the restroom by myself I couldn't eat I couldn't do nothing after the surgery I had never been hurt so I didn't know it was going to be this bad but she was there to help me through that time and that's what I needed at the time and it ended up not working out you know we ended up you know clashing and not being able to agree on things and that's when I kind of lost my focus on what I wanted to do you know where where I want to be you know I started to doubt myself um started to feel like you know maybe it's over maybe I don't belong at Forida State and stuff like that and that's one thing too that needs to get talked about more he hit the nail on the head as an athlete when you're coming off a major injury I'm not talking about rolling your ankle I'm talking about an ACL injury you completely shat your knees something like that Achilles that is something that always Creeps in the back of your mind doubt you start questioning dang man am I even good enough even more even more no no no no would the correct wordage there be any yeah I think it be any more you get what I'm trying to say if you've ever gone through a major surgery you know what franchu was talking about man you just lose I don't want to say talent because you're still talented and skilled but you're not like you once was it's a similar thing with Klay Thompson currently for the Warriors everybody's been given Clay Thompson a hard time but people don't understand when you come off a major surgery you're never going to return back to your original form continuing along here though to the year 2018 franchis he would win the starting job and to make an extremely long story short here things didn't go so well Florida State finish a year going five- seven they didn't even make a bowl game it was a lot of ugly football and a lot of beatdowns these weren't like they was losing some nail biters no no no no it was bad if you do want to be a half glass full type of guy on the bright side at least you got franu coming back for the year 2019 or at least that's what we thought thought in the midst of that 2018 season this is when behind the scenes this never got brought into the public French he was starting to get into some trouble in December of 2018 reminder this is while franwall is the starting quarterback for the Florida state semon rolls the police were called out to his apartment that he was sharing with his girlfriend at the time it was labeled as there was a quote unquote dispute between franu and his girlfriend and no charges were ever filed detective Matt being in the building after doing a lot of digging and I mean a lot a lot of digging and a lot of research I have obtained the audio footage and the audio call from that night safe to say you were in for a treat with this one this is coming from DeAndre francha himself and Matt wrote a clip this girl she's tearing up everything in my house okay what is the address of the emergency repeat that address for verification okay what's the near intersecting Street uh I don't I don't know okay and the phone number that your calling from yeah tell me exactly what happened she coming home and she just tearing everything up and she just threw so who is she to you she's my she my ex-girlfriend your ex-girlfriend yes well not even my ex-girlfriend she's the girl that I've been feeling for a while but I've been telling her that you know she has to leave like because yeah what's your first and last name and then and then she just said she she F like she called the police but she never even called the police she just said I just heard her say that she F she called the police okay vience what's your first and last name yes ma'am okay and what's her name um mhm is she black white asian Or Hispanic she's black what's her date of birth I don't know I don't know how information now do you know how old she is no I don't know does she have any weapons no no no weapons no weapons at all no weap okay noap okay I need you to separate yourself from her and stay separated into law enfor I'm trying to but I'm in my okay I understand that listen I understand [Applause] that okay in order for things not to escalate can you get somewhere with a closed door and close the door to separate yourself from her until law enforcement gets there all right I'm cool I'm not even I'm not doing nothing it's fine I just want I just want somebody to come get her please cuz I'm scared all my stuff going be ruined she trashing everything in my house and she won't leave all she has to do is step outside of my home okay we have an officer on the way but stay separated from her until law enforcement arve I need you to go in the bathroom or in a room and close the door yeah so that happened I think we can all agree here that was a rather intriguing audio call to say the least despite calling the police despite everything that went on that night no charges were ever filed however one thing that was noted and it was registered into the system is that the police caught franchis with 17 lbs of Mary Jane but take a listen to this those were on two separate occasions as to why this wasn't a bigger story back then I have no idea but somebody informed the police around that florid State campus that DeAndre fruis was dealing Mary Jane it was reported that the Tallahassee Police Department conducted surveillance footage on DeAndre franois for 2 months on a random day the police W up reading his apartment in which this is when they found the 17 G's of Mary Jane 17 GS is less than an ounce so they only gave him a charge of misdemeanor possession franu did wind up telling the police department that the Mary Jane it belonged to his girlfriend and he doesn't use it anymore here's what the head football coach at the time had to say about it he's still at our football team we talked about his respons responsibility as a student athlete here and he understands my expectations and what I'm looking for especially when it comes to our quarterback continuing along he's got to be smart about who he's around and what he's around and make good decisions I advise him to just make sure he's around his teammates all the time H remember in that interview that podcast whatever you want to call it that when franchis stated I was just hanging around the wrong people that podcast was done a couple weeks ago and this quote it was put out back when the incident occurred your boy Matt isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but I can most certainly put two and two together here this is what fenw was referring to when I was doing my research for this video I saw a lot of rumors flying around that the reason he was even involved with the Mary Jane is because he was trying to sell it to make some extra money on the side I don't know if that's true or not but if it is that's just sad and I do kind of feel for him although I don't advocate for what he did if he was just trying to make some extra money that's a bad situation to be in that is the one good side of the nil the kids they don't have to go out here and try to make extra money especially if they're the starting quarterback for a team in the power five or now the power four moving along with our story we still have a long ways to go so there's now been two incidents that have occurred in a short amount of time number one he had the dispute with his girlfriend in which the police showed up no charges were filed and then two you had this situation this one was a little bit bigger well then not too long after in early February of 2019 so a couple months or really only about yeah yeah yeah we we'll say a couple months after that 2018 season fruis made his way back into the news this time it involved yet again his girlfriend his girlfriend would post a unquote I'm going to hit you in your face every blank time the caption on this Instagram poach which since then has been deleted stated this to clarify here I know it's kind of confusing because we don't have the original post this is his girlfriend at the time Lindsay writing this referring to DeAndre frena I normally don't put my business on IG referring to Instagram but I am tired of my name being drugg through the mud since the beginning I've been silent for 2 years I've been in a domestic situation with Deandre FR I thought I loved him and I thought he could change for the better but it has gotten worse I lost my first child because of all the beating and I suffer from post partum depression this situation has taken a tone my life yes I stayed after that because I was stupid and blinded by love this isn't love you are a coward and this isn't right just because you are who you are that doesn't give you the right to put your hands on a woman ever the head coach of Florida State at the time would come out with this statement not too long after matter of fact the next day last night I informed DeAndre fr while that he is no longer a member of the Florida State football program apologizing to DeAndre and his family for ultimately disminuir him not to ruin anything he had going for himself The Sounds you hear in the video are me throwing things and hitting him I should have never made it seem like he was hitting me the video has made it look like something it wasn't DeAndre has never struck me with his hand or fist he has never viewed me but has has abused me verbally if it was actually serious I would have took legal action instead of making an Instagram post I just wanted closure and attention for him after we broke up but I couldn't get it from him the only way to get his attention was through Instagram and spiteful actions I had no clue the video was that serious and would go viral to the point that he'd be dismissed I was mad and made a decision out of anger I thought posting an old video would make him remember all that we've been through then delete it and everything would be fine now looking back on it I feel terrible because I provoked him while recording but was never in fear of my life or felt helpless I never called the police on him because he never physically hurt me we both were verbally abusive to each other throughout our relationship which I understand now is not healthy after my miscarriage I felt alone and going through that alone made me very angry spiteful and selfish I wasn't myself and tried to hold on to something that wasn't there love can make me do some crazy things and I'm sorry for leading people to believe that he was hitting me along with all the other trouble I've caused I feel terrible and I know a lot of people people are hurt by this but I know he will bounce back from this and continue following his dream H interesting now I know what you're sitting there saying Matt my guy what do you mean interesting what's going on here she's just pretty much recanting her statement well like the good old Legend Lee Corso says not so fast my friend that statement I just read off not even a statement that novel I read off to you it was fake yeah that's right you heard me you've been bamboozled it wasn't even real according to Lindsay's family she was hacked and that statement was not written by her or anyone associated with her the crazy part about that entire situation is he was never officially charged with anything he was never arrested and he still got kicked off of Florida State and I understand why he got kicked off cuz remember he was already walking on a thin line before the incident there was already one dispute with his girlfriend before that had the whole situation with Mary Jane and this felt like the third strike and he's out crazy crazy crazy and I can't help but bring it up up but it's the butterfly effect if he wouldn't have got hurt against Alabama he would have never have even been talking to that girl in the first place probably wouldn't have been involved with the drugs and wrong people like he talked about and none of this would ever happen but since he was hurt and he didn't have anybody to talk to he wanted a companion and also he needed something to do so he filled that void in with that girl and I'm not saying it's her fault I'm just saying that's what happened he filled the boy with the girl and also the Mary Jane and some other things and now here we are next thing you know couple years later after that pretty good pretty stellar freshman season he is no longer on the roster for Florida State at this point in time too he had a lot of red flags so your real top tier teams they weren't going to even go after him not even to the slightest of bits he did have quite a few schools offer him once he left Florida State but he decided to go to Hampton here's what he had to say about that entire process with leaving Florida State and going to Hampton what was it like socially outside of football My Lifestyle was different when I got the hand bro in so many ways I couldn't even tell you like they they gave me a they gave me an apartment they tried their best to make it you know as how things work but it's just some things you can't replace right like I was standing in line for food at Florida State I you know how we we got our own calf at Hampton I'm in I'm in the back of the line I'm throughout the building my first week I'm like bro got served a piece of humble p man he really did I'm so glad he shared this because it puts into perspective how big of a difference it is at a school like Florida State versus Hampton or smaller D1 D2 or even FCS school I'm sure most people know this but for my people that don't I taught these athletes at Alabama Georgia Tennessee etc etc all these big time schools they are treated like royalty and I mean that if you're on the football team at any school in the Southeast I can't speak up north cuz I don't talk to too many of those players but in the Southeast you're like a Greek god to sum up his career at Hampton eh it was all right I give him that it was all right completed about 57% of his passes had 2500 passing yards with 16 I'm not 16 my apologies 26 touchdowns to 14 ints the interceptions are kind of concerning but all in all if you can Overlook that he didn't have a terrible year the Hampton team itself did struggle they finished year going five and seven he only played one year at Hampton and when that season got done wrapping up he declared for the NFL draft wading up until the draft he talked with a lot of teams and guess what it was about not his football abilities but what happened and what went on at Florida State cuz remember a lot of people still were left in the dark and they didn't know what went down all 32 teams came to Hampton and you know interviewed me and talked to me every single team and I had to literally sit there tell them every situation that happened at Florida State I had to sit there and literally tell them like everything that happened and I had to do this every day after practice while everybody going to the crib everybody going locker room and and it got to a point to where I'm like man it's stressful it's tough yeah cuz although there was a bunch of controversy surrounding Mr DeAndre franwall he was never arrested for anything to nobody shock whatsoever he went undrafted in the NFL draft but that's not the end of his football career he wind up getting signed by not the CFL not the Arena Football League the indoor Football League not overseas it feels like we've talked about 20 25 different leagues on this channel but yet this one he's s with the fan control Football League granted nothing crazy ever came out of it but he was getting paid a little bit of money to play the game he loves here's what Fran had to say about it from what I see the next time you got an opportunity was playing in a fan control Football League what was it like playing in that League fan control man when I think about fan control bro it's like like a time in my life that's real significant can was the opportunity to play football have fun just be a kid when I you know when the world was shut down when I couldn't throw a football at nobody fan control gave some guys an opportunity to stay loose stay relevant and it just came out of nowhere like guy was like all right you can stop working these dead in jobs and you know go back play football cuz in a few years I'm going to continue to bless continue to keep you playing this game honestly I did it originally because I wanted to get out of Orlando the jobs that I was working was putting me in depression to the point to where I ain't even know you know how to sleep at night I couldn't even sleep I couldn't do nothing but I had to make money to provide you know what I'm saying as a man if you got no money in your pocket you're worthless right so I had to do what I needed to do like I work jobs that I never thought i' work in my life you know what I'm saying so fan control gave me a breath of fresh like okay boom I can go play football for some money even though it's not a lot of money it's still you know positive and working towards something I want I want to do yeah so what what kind of jobs was you working like oh prior to the BR I work I did um I worked for a trucking company I was safety supervisor for a trucking company um my agent got me that job when things was tough and we W getting no calls I really love this part of the podcast where he talks about another job he worked and that was at wind Dixie stocking shelves for those of you that don't know what wind Dixie is it's a grocery store I was working at a windexi bro one night overnight in belade chicken is FS and it's 3:00 in the morning I'm on my lunch break I'm working overnight bro and I'm in the car crying dog just balling out just crying to like hate on people if they have a job like this or they work for a fast food company restaurant or anything of that nature even when I was growing up I never understood it when I saw people in high school you make fun of somebody for working any type of job you're a loser work is work period of the end and if you point your finger at the next man for trying to provide for him his family make some extra money you're a straight up loser life can humble you fast I don't care if it's the CEO or the janitor treat everybody with the same amount of respect I know I went on like a mini rant there but let's continue along here I'm telling the I'm telling the co CU I'm like yeah I used to play football they ask me like bro you work out bro what you do that uh used to play sports and getting the rundown after I was talking to them about it on my lunch break I just bald out crying cuz I'm like what am I doing here what is going on bro like how did I end up here how did I get from that Old Miss game to stacking you know bread seeing what bread like you know what I'm saying it was just a crazy a crazy time I know I just went out a rant about respecting people no matter what job they work but could you imagine let's try to put that into perspective DeAndre franchis stalking shelves at like a local Walmart or Publix or wind Dixie wherever reminder this was only a few years removed from like he talked about having that Breakout game against old M that would be D near the equivalent now of ironic enough the quarterback for Florida State Jordan Travis you see him at Walmart stalking the Fruity Pebbles on the Shelf like I said there's nothing wrong with that by any stretch of imagination but you can't lie that'd be kind of odd to see in public it' just be a real head scratcher if I saw Jordan Travis at my local Publix working for them it kind of be like a oh well uh that's kind of weird I just saw you scoring touchdowns only a year ago fast foring time a little bit into the year 2023 this when fruis he would join the XFL and he played for the Orlando Guardians things didn't go so good for Orlando he wasn't playing much and he didn't even get to prove himself recently though in 2024 this is where he signed with the DC Defenders and currently has d stands at her current dat and time that's where he's at going to your second year as a pro like what are what are some of your goals what I want from this from this season is just to really figure out who I am in the process of this whole thing you know what I'm saying like I really want to get to where I'm supposed to get to in this chapter and that's all I'm worried about and if I become the MVP Elite doing that then that's cool and if I don't then that's fine but I still figured out what I need to do in this time and that's my main goal and it's hard to do that bro it's not it's not easy and we oh I just turned 27 I'm going have to take the him off one day so I don't really don't to care about no accolades just said you know we got to ask the two questions we always ask at the end of these videos is DeAndre franchis a winner or a loser in my book it is relatively simple and that we haven't had a loser in a while he's a winner winning in this life is isn't about making hundreds of millions of dollars in the NFL it's about getting up after you get knocked down over and over and over and that's what he's done here's the more interesting question that does apply to our situation here why didn't things work out I hate to go back to this cuz I think franu is trying to move on from it but if he never would have got hurt at Florida State that's the thing that hurt him okay number one the injury but number two the whole mess with the Mary Jane incident and his girlfriend that's what set him back the injury and he got in some off the- field troubles but to tell you the truth I never thought he was a real deal serious NFL caliber quarter back when he was at Florida State even when you removed the red flags and all the incidents I don't know if he would have got drafted in the draft if nothing would have happened I hate to say that he seems like a pretty good solid and genuine dude that's just my honest assessment of what I've seen at Florida State in two full years of playing he never completed over 59% of his passes to go on top of that his best year at college football was his freshman year everything after that it was a decline in 2018 for Florida State yeah he had 15 touchdowns but he had 12 interceptions that's not good the following year for Hampton granted he didn't have the greatest offensive line didn't have the greatest wide receivers 26 touchdowns 149s to my man DeAndre if you are somehow someone seeing this video my brother I'm wishing the best of luck and I hope you
