again I don't necessarily think this is a horrible idea but do okay my question is do federal employees get this day off uh I don't think so I don't think it's a holiday I think saying that this is a national security event and a national security event day which means that they're probably going to have like so much security so much you know what I mean okay I mean shouldn't shouldn't we have a lot of security every day I mean I feel like that's something that we should do all the time right it does seem like it'd be a good idea maybe we should do that like on our border that would be great can we do can we start there that would be maybe a good start and then just secure everything everywhere for the American people cuz that's your job I just a thought it is a good thought um and it's just interesting that they're I don't know what they're preparing for like are they preparing for Trump to not win and so they're assuming that there's going to be a similar reaction I don't know I I don't know but whatever happens they're calling this a national security event I I had a an interesting conversation with one of the um swim dads the other day he's 40 he's younger than me a lot of the parents are younger than me um but had a nice conversation with him about this election and everything and he is convinced and I thought this was an interesting perspective that no matter who wins there's going to be unrest oh yeah I I absolutely agree with that doesn't matter it just doesn't matter if it's Trump or if it's people are just there's just going to be unrest because if Trump wins you know of course we'll be delighted because we're going to be like oh my gosh it's going to be so great he's going to get things back on track we're gonna be I mean of course we're going to be super stoked about that right they will not be stoked they because everything that they've tried to keep to do to keep him out of office they will be you guys remember like the memes with the Liberals on the ground crying I mean it take that times it by a thousand that's how they will feel and I'm it's gonna be bad and we already know what it looks like when the left riots it looks bad it looks real protest in 2020 they are the ones that reported on it when it was happening because it was happening in Seattle and now they're just now they're actually trying to say no that what it didn't happen scrutiny criticism and legitimate and necessary oversight of our work these attacks have come in the form of conspir conspiracy theories dangerous falsehoods efforts to bully and intimidate career public servants by repeatedly and publicly singling them out and threats of actual violence through your work you have made clear that the justice department will not be intimidated by these attacks but it is danger ous and outrageous that you have to endure them it is dangerous to Target and intimidate individual employees of this department solely for doing their jobs and it is outrageous that you have to face these unfounded attacks because you are doing what is right and upholding the rule of law you deserve better you deserve gratitude you deserve what you seow you know what I mean like debate what they deserve is for you to have a freaking sit down interview where you're ask questions that you cannot dance around that's what we deserve or a town hall like he's done yes a how about doing a town hall on Fox yes exactly let's see that I'd like to see that just you and like a bunch of people like Sean Hannity pummeling you There will be no more debates with questions do that are well ain't kamla exactly uh he also announced at the same um rally in Arizona a new tax policy I'm also announcing that as part of our additional tax cuts we will end all taxes on overtime you know what that means think of Trump winning in post-debate polls that that gives people more of an incentive to work it gives the companies a lot it's a lot easier to get the people and you know I went to some economists great ones and I said whatat do you think they said it would be unbelievable you'll get a whole new Workforce by doing that no taxes on overtime the people who work overtime are among the hardest working citizens in our country and for too long no one in Washington has been looking out for them those are the people they really work they're police officers nurses Trump announces new tax policy Factory workers construction workers truck drivers and machine operators it's time for the working man and woman to finally catch a break and that's what we're doing because this is a good one and I think it's going to be great for the country and taxes on Social Security too that's right why do why do people who are retired when they've already paid into the system got taxed on it once get taxed on it again it's our freaking money I know it's just being returned to us literally right and then they tax it again so it's been taxed 18 ways this Sunday they've taxed it and taxed it and taxed it again they just keep bending you over and that we're not gonna I mean I'm not going to get it anyway but I mean like the people who are getting it right now I it pains me when I see that what the hell why are we accepting that as a country why do people accept that and it's just they're like oh I mean that's just that's fine The Government Can tax it twice what um we mentioned yesterday have his ear right now so at this moment of the campaign I mean think about this we're we're less than two months away from the election Donald Laura Loomer is hurting Trump Trump is is associating with some of the craziest weirdest figures on on the on the right so that was one example why why why is he doing this I don't know it doesn't do him any good at all there's nothing positive that comes from and and she what is her purpose this is what my my question is like what purpose is she serving with him right now other than to create this garbage well and the fear is and what they're talking talking about on some of these other shows too is that you know when she's in his ear when she's riding on the same plane as he is to his debate that she's actually advising him some of the times when he tweets things he's using actual words that she has said or means that she has posted like he's clearly influenced by her which is freaking insane and when it reaches like even you know hakee Jeff is talking about it it things are bad and so he was referencing how she accompanied him um the same day as 911 that on September 11th this sacred day he would bring a 911 conspiracy theorist to participate in events during this solemn commemoration should shock the conscience of all decent Americans and I believe that it does just that Scott Scott asked what she said oh my God what hasn't she said well she put a she put a tweet out about Indians about Indian Americans you're about to hear the quote from because this came up in K JP's presser this is just the latest thing that she has said she also accused uh Ronda sanz's wife of not really having cancer right I mean she is a freaking lunatic um and that the list goes on like she she's got quite a history here it is being brought up in uh KJ P's presser woman named Laura lomer who recently tweeted that if the vice president wins the election the White House will smell like Curry and White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center uh among other things she recently traveled with the former president and I wonder if President Biden has read these remarks and his response let me tell you our our one of the manufacturing plans here in shoy the district has already had to hire more Haitian kids flood American elementary schools elll teachers and E L coach for the teachers and an interpreter that cost over $400,000 and with the growth expected to continue the district projects spending another 300,000 next school year we're told increasing taxes isn't an option so the district is looking to the state of course they're looking to the state it's and then and that slows down other kids learning too oh my gosh like crazy right that other that people just don't realize like from a classroom perspective when you're looking at these kids that come in they can't speak English it I mean people are going to get pissed when I say this but it dumbs everybody down absolutely absolutely it does it pulls yeah and that and that's not okay it's just not no because these These are people that are you're paying tax dollars for public school education for your you should not have to be covering the education of people who came here for reasons that are totally on the backs of Biden and kamla right well all on them well and it's it's like when they're learning math they're they have a language barrier so like the your kid who's just wanting to learn math is having to sit there and deal with the language barrier of this other kid and that pulls everybody down and from an educ just the educational ramifications of this are so far-reaching and destructive and I just people are they want to be benevolent you know they want to say oh this is so great like Liberals are always the a question a lot of us had after we saw the endorsement I think a lot of people expected it was coming but the question of how much of an impact will she have Beyond just excitement you know the likes on Instagram will it Translate L into voter registration so we can see some of the backend data in terms of the data that is coming and hitting off the voter file that we build and what we saw was this really massive increase we're calling it The Swift effect now because it's really unlike anything I've seen we were seeing a four or 500% increase in people coming and trying to register to vote immediately following the debate and in that period after Taylor Swift uh posted How is Taylor Swift affecting the election on Instagram and what's really remarkable about that usually you'll see these increases and they kind of Fade Away in this case we've seen it continue through the last two days into today how so well you know I I I'm told I have two teenage daughters that she was on the Video Music Awards on MTV last night apparently she put out another pitch for people to register to vote and so we're seeing this continued Spike of four or five times what you would regularly see so we're talking about somewhere in neighborhood 9 to 10,000 people per hour just hitting our system that's not indicative of everything but it's a lot of it and what does this mean for the election well you know a big part of this the big question I think a lot of people ask is when you see new registrants sure they're registering to vote will they vote well we actually have statistics going back to 2020 we can see people who registered to vote this close to the election over 80% of those new registrants actually turned out in the election so it's safe to say that not only are these voters who are registering uh are a big deal but it's likely that they're going to come out on Election Day or before election day and the early voting okay well maybe just maybe when she says Hey register to vote and she says that and you know there are a lot of the dumb asses that do register maybe there are just as many um young impressionable girls I say the impressionable ones or young girls that and talk to us like you know what it's like don't tell us that we should be voting for this person or talking about stop talking stop talking because you have no idea exactly you don't know what it's like there are people out there right now and it shouldn't be political feeding your family should not be political having to choose between paying rent or groceries that week and rent is delayed it should not be political that should literally just be uh you know life but uh as a celebrity stop talking because you don't know and you sound stupid and if you're somebody who follows a celebrity blindly and just does what they say because of who they are also you shut up right sit down take several seats because I'm exhausted and I'm pretty sure most of the world not the world most Americans um are also exhausted love you so much and if you're and if you're that person that is following her blindly and you're doing everything that she says you're probably living with your parents I mean you're probably seriously you're probably having everything provided for you yeah that's true you really are because I got you know my my middle our middle kid our son is married they went to her concert they like her music they're not voting for Kamala they're not doing that they're not going to do that because she said they live on their own they pay they live in freaking California they know how much they know what stuff costs they're quite aware they both have jobs they can't even get a house out there and they both do well so when she says vote for common walls they're like I don't think so not going to happen so there are people if if you're living on your own and you understand kind of like what that lady says if you're in the real world you're going to be like that's nice they're there Taylor but the rest of us live in the real world you don't you have a gajillion homes you get to fly on private jets and scream about climate change and you're dating a NFL player that looks like a douche in his bucket hat you know the the rest of us don't live in that world right and so she's right stop preaching to the people that actually do I feel like we could be friends with her with that chick yeah totally we could be friends with her for the way that she says stuff is like I like it yeah just but I mean but it is kind of disconcerting that people like these young girls they think I'm like her you're not it's just like you weren't like the Kardashians either right it's a whole other level of it it's just something that listen 99% of us are never gonna attain oh my God like she has no clue no clue and I don't want to live in that world I really I don't I really don't I just wish every celebrity would do what she said which is zip it um or follow the lead of Patrick Mahomes who I Patrick Mahomes has an amazing answer to endorsing people thought handled this question so beautifully former president Trump referenced you in your family again today on Fox News and relation to his campaign I just wonder what your reaction is to seeing that yeah I think I've always said um I don't want I don't want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever um each either way I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote is to inform people to do their own research and then make their best decision for them and their family um and so I think that's every time I'm on this stage and I get to ask these questions I'm going refer back to that because I think that's what makes America so great I think it was important though I don't know if important the right word but when you were at the US Open this past weekend and you guys were there with Taylor and Travis I mean is that an important image to to show that you know people who may have different philosophies yeah I mean I think I've always even dating back I think if you seen my history I've grown up with people from every every aspect of life um and every background and I think the best thing about a football locker room and kind of how I've grown up in baseball locker rooms everything about that is people can come together and Achieve something achieve a common goal um and I think if we can I mean we talked about it a while back but I think if we can do that as a nation I think that we can get the best out of each other um and so I think that's something that I do every single day and whenever I'm hanging out with with whoever I'm not I'm not thinking about their political views or anything like that I'm thinking about the people and how they how they treat other people um and I was with a lot of great people this weekend yeah that he answered that like a conservative perect right but but don't you think but don't you think he answered that like a conservative I mean probably yeah I mean come on let's get real that's what he did I'm not not say listen you can think what you want to think but like when I taught at the college level my kids never knew who I voted for they never knew because I just didn't put it that it wasn't my place my place was to teach it wasn't to inject my political opinions or philosophies into the classroom that's how I felt about it so they never freaking knew and that's how it should be that's what conservatives do I love that liberals don't do that so love that and I love his answer and that's what everybody that is how it should be handled you know what I mean totally class all class yes totally um okay I was going to play some bad news about election stuff but we're running a little bit longer than I'd like on a Friday so I'm Gonna Save that and end Good Trump flashback with some really good news before we get to schlong anyway um the just some good trumpy stuff right so there was I don't know where this is obviously long ago but he was maybe it was the Oprah show or was on some show where audience was able to ask him questions and this woman had a question for him and the way that he handled the question was just lovely Trump you've done great things in your life and I just wonder how do I as an average person begin well first of all never think of yourself as average you started off with the wrong question you have to tell yourself that you just have to get that word average out of your vocabulary and you have to tell yourself that you're great and you have to believe it if you can say say it and don't believe it it doesn't matter so just go out there and work hard I I love that I love that too that's fan what wonderful advice right yeah I love that and I think and I think he truly believes that about people people aren't you're not average you're an you're an awesome awesome American filled with potential yeah everybody has potential everybody he believes that and that's why he's doing what he's doing yes and then there there was there was this Trump's reaction to a fan moment I know you saw it too where this was from the 911 names readout ceremony and somebody was obviously filming him with their phone and Trump caught their eye and just the little reaction that he had to that person was so cute I love this can you even I love it see influencers are Schlong - gentle parenting idiots all right it's time for our schlong and our schlong today is uh it's about that gentle parenting um phenomenon Bill Maher actually did a little spiel about it we're going to talk about him his reaction and then some other angles of that uh of what's happening to our kids right now because it's not good hearing how parenting is so hard these days yeah because you're making it hard gentle parenting it's like a Taco Bell breakfast the reason it feels wrong is because it is and it's ruining lives on both sides of the equation parents it's ruining your lives because made a made yourselves a butler to a 5-year-old and the kids because the results are in and all this letting the kids run the show path of least resistance child rearing is harming them the average high school kid today has the same level of anxiety as the average psychiatric patient in the early 1950s god wow a recent survey of employers found that about one in five recent college graduates brought their parents with them to a job interview our kids are crippled with anxiety because they haven't been properly prepared for a world that doesn't revolve around [Applause] them exactly almost 10% of college students claim to have PTSD from college the Cradle of safetyism the home of safe spaces and Trigger warnings and policing offensive words you're not supposed to get PTSD in college you're supposed to get an STD [Laughter] I mean this is this whole gentle parenting thing is taken off too like if you're on social media at all you see it everywhere and people are so in support of it like oh this is the right way to parent you're supposed to do this and talk to your kid like this and I'm like oh my God and maybe you know there are times where I question myself because I'm such a gen xer that I'm like what are you doing like just it doesn't matter that you're bleeding get up right it's like is there a bone sticking out you're fine you're fine my God just put some dirt on it that's and we have that's how we've raised our kids and that's how we rais Gwen and she's you know 14 and I just you know we try to make sure that they're all very independent because one day they have to go out into this nasty big world and they got a deal you cannot cuddle them you just can't can't and I think a lot of these parents are doing that it's like the the butler thing was a very interesting yeah point that he made where you just these people are waiting on their kids hand and foot you got to make them be independent you have to well and we're doing a disservice not just from the gentle parenting but kids are struggling as he said just as much as psych patients from the 1900s or whatever whenever that was I mean ridiculous how much worse their mental health is the more we focus on it and that was what was so remarkable to me there was this chart about depressive symptoms in US 8th 10th and 12th graders just over the past few decades I mean look at the shift look at how much it's gotten worse since 2015 right and like it's just jumped exponentially and so Abigail shrier talked about therapy because now of course parents are either putting their kids on anti-depressants which is also a whole other terrifying thing that I mean because kids can get legit crazy from those right right um but there's also this notion of you know putting kids in therapy and and and going to therapy even as adults to the point where it's just it's routine people do this thinking that it's good for them but it's a racket in in many ways not saying that all therapy is bad I'm certainly not saying that and therapy is super necessary for some people but the people that are using it as as a way as as a as um like they holding it up as an example of how to be healthy mentally that everybody should be in therapy that is [ __ ] and it's damaging and Abigail shrier was on with Joe Rogan to talk about that really really interesting little segment from that uh inter you know I never really considered that until your book till I heard the title of your book and I read the synopsis of it I I never really considered it I never considered that think about your problems all the time and talking about your problems all the time lit literally make the problems grow that's right I mean it's the number one symptom of depression is what they call rumination this pathological obsessing over your pain yeah that's why stuff like exercise that's one of the reasons aside from chemical reasons one of the reasons that doing anything you know that running errands is good for your mental health getting out of your house and accomplishing anything yeah is good for you but sitting around talking thinking about your problems that's a bad habit and the best cognitive behavioral therapists and others you know the dialectical behavioral therapists the ones who do really well with depression the first thing they do is try to break that un that that bad pattern but a lot of therapists just indulge it that's the problem I I know this sounds so mean but why is this not common sense I don't know I don't know I feel like I feel like a lot of this is just common sense like if you feel sorry for yourself all the time you're going to continue to feel sorry for yourself right a lot a lot of our problems are here you know what I mean and not and the ruminating exactly right about ruminating and the wowing and I'm not saying that like our generation and the and you know like Boomers and gen xers a lot of us probably had a problem with therapy and a lot of us had some issues and we probably need to deal with them that's fine and and I'm not saying that that's that therapy like you said is not a good thing therapy is a good thing but this generation is like over therapized totally they're just they overdo it it's over comp like Millennials and jzer it's just we've over compensated I think it's we're consuming it's they're consuming therapy like coffee right they're they're thinking this is just a part of my daily mental health thing and it's not and they want to give themselves a label for everything I have this and I have this and I have this I have this disorder and that disorder and I have this kind of depression and that and I have to be on this drug and that drug and that and what it does is it labels themselves as less than or something or or yeah it victimizes themselves or it makes them part of like this club where we can all get together and like have a self-pity party and it's like I just what the hell is that it's like I don't well and excuse it excuses a lot of their behavior oh oh did I say something that about that's because I'm this I mean it's all such this weird cycle of suck that we're in right now and it is a racket in some ways because I do think that there are people like she said there are therapists who indulge this because they want the repeat business they're going to tell their clients you should absolutely have weekly sessions with me why wouldn't they you know what I mean yeah when it's and she made a great point when it's like well maybe you just need to go outside and go for a run once a day and you'll be all right yeah know I mean it's kids and kids need structure kids need there are certain things that kids need but I mean sometime and teenagers they have a lot they have angst they go through periods of time where they're not going to be you know these perfect little angels let them go through it it's we all go through it you know this is the thing I think it's somebody said Dean I love your comment touch grass yeah exactly exactly right this is the thing I mean there's C there's just c i don't let them be kids let them be teenagers you know don't we don't have to label
