a new movie shot in Oklahoma will hit theaters in Tulsa today and Nationwide tomorrow Reagan tells the story of President Ronald Reagan in this morning's good news I went to the red carpet Premiere last night in Edmund and talked with the film star Dennis Quaid about his portrayal of the 40th President Ronald Reagan is like Muhammad Ali you can show his picture to anybody anywhere in the world and really 99% people are going to say that's Ronald Reagan and uh so a lot of people you know nobody looks like sounds like and to do him was kind of fear went up my spine and you know add that to he was my favorite President uh you know voted for him both times and uh I just have the Fondest Memories of of those of those days and so but I wanted to find out not just an impersonation I wanted to get behind the public Persona to the human being that was there and I learned a lot a lot lot in the process of doing that I think I've shot five movies here in Oklahoma and uh this one's been the biggest and we were able to staff it with mostly Oklahomans um throughout the the whole film our department heads were from Oklahoma most of them and we've found a lot of great talent here also with the cast unbelievable it just seems like film after film or having Premiere after Premiere yeah I mean it's really cool it's something that uh the legislature and the film office and tourism we just said Hey how do we keep putting Oklahoma on the map and when I ran for governor I wanted to bring the world to Oklahoma and bring bring Oklahoma to the world and no better way to do that through than through film and so putting Guthrie on the map people want to come and visit these sites uh like The Outsider in Tulsa and uh that was filmed a long time ago but uh these films um we just saw Twister so it's just a huge push as my Administration trying to get more uh actors more films and Oklahoma and create that whole industry couple of movies uh that you've shot here in Oklahoma right around the same time uh I take it you like it here yeah it's a great place to make films I mean for everybody it's you know for the people here are just so great youve got great Crews great film cruise and uh you know getting quite a history of it now and uh just makes it an easy and really great place to to make movies as you saw Governor Kevin stit was at the the premiere he declared yesterday Reagan movie day in the state of Oklahoma very realistic lifelike sets that they created in Guthrie and as you're watching the movie you don't feel like you're looking at Oklahoma it all just works it just yeah it all just works they recreated the Oval Office and it looks virtually identical and you can go see it today that's right starts today and uh Nationwide tomorrow but uh kind of like with killers of the flower Moon and Twisters we get a little day early sneak peek yeah a little preview that's nice just
