so vehicle football club is undoubtedly one of the most successful teams of the modern era in a waffle competition this Subiaco side has lost one game in the past two seasons and has made it to the last six grand finals winning three of them its success since 2014 is unprecedented and has arguably stemmed from the arrival of one star recruit from the humble Victorian country town of Mottola not Junior 40 was played in humble abode of Nutella I played there for all my junior career coached by my uncles and father throughout all my junior football Delahunt his first year at the club saw the first Premiership of many with Subiaco breaking a six-year Premiership drought I think the the 2014 we broke a drought which was you know a huge moment for the club but me personally I think that the second year in 2015 I supposed to felt more a part of the culture being here now you know at that time to two years rather than just one twenty nineteen sort Delahunty is most dominant year of his career with a new role in the side and an increased freedom around the ground he flourished in terms of my role this year it's definitely changed a lot with the departure of Zack Clark so a big feat to feel but presented an opportunity midway through the year to assist and will pinch-hit in that position of the ruck and you know just being around the ball and and to be amongst it in the midfield was an opportunity I certainly want to be a part of and I really enjoyed it this saw don t have arguably the most dominant season of a Rahman of all time in the waffle taking out the league best in ferrous metal the first Rahman to do so since 2001 and I now have great pleasure on behalf of the Sandover family in presenting you with the sand over metal for the fairest and best waffle player for the 2019 season [Applause] you know today - it's been a bit of surreal feeling again sort of made up from a lot of interviews and sort of trying to take it all in and really enjoy it because you know it happens once put me in a blue moon his staggering fate has not fazed his humble and selfless nature with Delahunty never forgetting his support from his family friends or teammates yeah it was a massive honour horsey Cosley my big boy you know one vote he's my captain teammate it was a bit of a shock in some what was someone embarrassed and not having that they ever saw me but still pinching myself to be in company as other people who've won an award Delahunty looks forward to the upcoming challenge of the grand final against South Fremantle staying vigilant of the challenge they pose will go in confident but see I spent the quality of who they are and certainly not gonna be an easy challenge so I look forward to the game and hopefully we get the result Sunday afternoon one thing is for sure and that's that Delahunty will be an integral part for Subiaco Football Club and their pursuit for glory this Sunday
