known for its outspoken anti-trump stance the visit was part of her broader push to energize Democratic voters ahead of the 2024 election Republicans decried the event as another example of the Harris campaign's allegedly scripted an inauthentic approach to winning over voters her campaign shared a clip of an emotional interaction with a patron conservative commentator Laura lomer however claimed the interaction was staged Harris's campaign spokespersons posted a clip from the visit where she can be seen having an emotional interaction with a patron lomer a strong supporter of Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump's magga movement claimed that peny spices is an anti-republican and anti-trump business and accused the Harris campaign of staging the encounter to dupe voters lomer claimed that Kamala Harris's presidential campaign staged a fake emotional encounter with the woman on camera in which the campaign called the interaction organic and spur of the moment but the venue is in fact actually an anti-republican spice company on the peny spices website it explicitly says that Republicans are racist and they don't like or feel inclined to welcome Republicans or Trump supporters at their business peny spices has not shied away from mixing politics with business regularly using its platform to criticize former president Donald Trump and his supporters the choice of this location seemed tailor made to appeal to Harris's base Progressive anti-trump Democrats this staged event was over the- toop political theater at its finest from the moment Harris stepped into the shop it was clear the event had been carefully orchestrated the store was filled with handpicked supporters all smiles and some even going as far as fake crying Harris delivered a series of talking points that felt more like a rehearsed performance than a genuine interaction with voters kamala's campaign wants the American voters to think that the woman who pretended to cry was a regular random woman but peny makes it very clear they only want Democrat clients two spokespeople for the Kamala Harris campaign posted the clip on X allegedly trying to make voter believe that it was an organic interaction notably peny spices is vocal about its opposition to the Republicans and the former president with the website clearly stating that the Republican party is moved away from its conservative values and is promoting what they refer to as nonsense notably Bill penzy the owner of peny spices spent over $700,000 on Facebook ads supporting impeaching president Trump in 2019 peny spices is a radical leftist Progressive company that was obviously chosen for Harris to attend since the interaction could be painted as something positive for her campaign the Harris campaign is absolutely terrified of having any real interactions with everyday Americans because God forbid Harris has asked a real question the choice of penzy spices was a clear signal to the progressive wing of the democratic party but I highly doubt that this approach will resonate with the broader electorate the Harris campaign is doubling down on its strategy of appealing to the base but there's a fine line between energizing supporters and coming across as insincere events like this where every detail seems pre-planned and overly polished will backfire since voters can see the campaign as out of touch with the everyday realities of their lives this criticism is nothing new for the Harris campaign which has frequently been accused of being overly scripted whether it's carefully staged photo ops choreographed speeches or meticulously selected venues like peny spices the campaign's attention to detail is both its strength and its Achilles heal to the American people it reeks of artificiality as Harris continues her tour across the country the question remains whether this highly orchestrated approach will ultimately help or hinder her efforts to connect with voters for now
