good evening I'm First Alert meteorologist cutter Martin here with an update in the First Alert weather center we were talking about this in fact I sent a video to the first of Lord weather app just a little bit ago about this but an update from the National Hurricane Center we now do officially have potential tropical Cyclone 6 what that means is that they are very confident nearly certain that a tropical system will develop uh next name on the list is Francine and that it is within 48 Hours of starting to impact populated areas the northern Mexican the Texan uh the Texas and the Louisiana Coastline so we're going to be watching this here over the next few days already sustained winds at 50 but we need a defined area a closed area of low pressure down at the surface and they're kind of missing that at this point even though winds are as strong as they are here is the forecast again potential tropical Cyclone 6 is forecast to become uh tropical storm Francine here pretty quickly kind of taking an interesting and unusual path uh kind of parallel to the Texas Coastline at some point bending back to the north and Northeast forecast to be a hurricane making landfall somewhere along the upper Texas Coastline the southwestern uh Louisiana Coastline generally west of Vermillion Bay as we get into late Tuesday night or more likely Wednesday now from there uh the remnants of the system are forecast to go anywhere between maybe Arkansas Eastern Oklahoma and into Mississippi and Northwestern Alabama keep in mind that's the remnant Center of circulation uh the impacts the tropical moisture associated with this system kind of fan out across the South and Southeast so we're looking at a pretty wet scenario for for a big chunk of real estate as we get into Wednesday Thursday Friday that's why locally we're really boosting our rain chances Thursday Friday First Alert weather days if you have outdoor plans uh you have kiddos family members uh that have Friday Night Lights games on Friday keep an eye on the forecast even though the risk of severe weather and heavy rain certainly greater well to our West uh impactful showers couple thunderstorms and a lowrisk of severe weather still a possibility we're going to be fine tuning this forecast as we go through the work week we'll keep you updated Atlanta news first plus next stream is at 8:00 pm no early evening newscast but we're on pach Street TV Atlanta CW affiliate at 10 p.m. and then back on Atlanta news first starting at 11 p.m. again we'll keep you updated
