I am Sports director Karly Mara here in Milwaukee at fiser forum for a top three volleyball matchup between Wisconsin and Texas the Longhorns come in as two-time defending Champions and they prove their dominance once again in their season opener college volleyball taking the big stage today at fiser Forum the Badgers putting up a fight in front of their home crowd set one Charlie furrer sets up Anna smre who puts the Badgers up 23-21 but the Longhorn storm back Mariana single ter with a powerful shot to tie the match at 25 and the Texas Star Madison Skinner with a decisive Point as the Longhorns win set one 30-28 now to set two Sarah Franklin taking the Reigns for Wisconsin Franklin had a team High 25 kills and the Badgers W set two 25-23 to even the match at one a piece but the Longhorns doing everything right they had three players finish in double digit kills in Skinner Jenna wenis and Reagan Rutherford but it was their defensive effort and ability to play clean that stood out to head coach Kelly Sheffield they are where they are right now and that's the standard and we've got we've got work to do if we want to be in a uh in a situation where uh we are competing for championships right now there is a um uh you know what are we going to be when we get pushed the Badgers had 26 attacking errors and 10 service errors in the loss as Wisconsin Falls to 0 and2 on the season just learning that we got to be tougher mentally and we got to show up ready um those last two sets um Kelly talked to us in the locker room that we lost that between our ears um in our mind and mentally um we just got to get tougher and there's no words we can say to get us there we just got to do Sheffield also saying that the Badgers have a ton of young players who were playing in this type of environment against this type of opponent for the first time in their career careers but he was proud of the way they handled themselves now the Badgers will look for their first win of the season but it won't be easy they face number five Stanford on Monday right here at fiser Forum reporting in Milwaukee I'm Karly marada for 27 Sports
