stand by what was your initial reaction uh to the TR yeah um you know it was I was it was a it was a it was a shock you know um just because you know all I know in the NFL is Wasington commanders um but you know at the end of the day you know it's a business um and I understand that very much so and um you know it all happens so fast and you don't kind of get to react to it but you know I would say being out here today and being on the field and kind of taking the field and taking it all in a little bit um you know I'm I'm very excited it got me like I got goosebumps leaving the field today uh just because you know Philly growing up only an hour and hour and a half away from here um you understand the passion um you understand how much people care about the Eagles uh so you know seeing the fans go crazy literally after a third preseason game um it it it was exciting it got me a little a little excited uh to to be here hey John what was uh saquon Barley's advice to you when you got traded here did you talk to him like beforehand or before you knew it was all coming down um no I I talked to him right after uh literally like an hour after I got traded um and you know he told me just to keep my head up um and come here and work uh that's all we're trying to do here uh is Win games um we got a great thing going here great coaching staff uh great locker room uh so just come in uh put your head down and work and uh let's get the winning games in your pre-draft process was there a lot of contact with the Eagles yeah I had a good amount um I came here on a 30 visit um I talked to coach siani a good bit uh I had a pretty good relationship with Mr uh Hoy Roseman uh so yeah I feel like it was a it was a little bit of communication going on between us uh during the pre-drive process what explanation did you get from Washington yeah um you know they I talked to Coach Dan Quinn and Mr Adam Peters um and you know they told me they think very highly of me um it was kind of just something that happens you know uh these things happen all the time in the NFL um you know so I didn't I didn't I'm not going to take it personal until I see Washington uh but you know I'm it's exciting I'm excited to be here um I I can't wait to to put on the the black and green um and I can't wait to get to work offense you have AJ and Devonte squ Dallas a lot of weapons how do you think know you fit that situation um by doing anything possible to help this team win uh get in where I fit in um and make the most of my opportunities make the most of my role uh getting to know my role right away um I I don't know what that's going to be yet uh I just got here a couple days ago but uh yeah like you said we have have a lot of weapons um and I look that I look at that as a great thing um you know we we have a lot of people who can make a lot of plays uh so it's going to be fun I've never in all of my years of playing I never been on a team with this much talent so I'm I'm I'm not only excited to play with them I'm excited to learn uh because we have a lot of great guys in the locker room uh from top to bottom uh so I'm really excited for the opportunity I'm just getting here how much have you gotten the chance to dive into the Playbook how quickly could you play yeah um without any preseason games yeah uh that's all on me at the end of the day uh how much I devote myself into the Playbook and I know the type of person I am I want to get on the field right away um so I'm going to do everything possible in my power to make sure that I'm ready when that opportunity comes uh so you know these past couple days uh I've been diving in the Playbook with uh coach Amo um coming in here early in the morning uh actually right before the game just sitting in the classroom for a couple hours um we literally going to meet tonight have a little Zoom call and just try to get at it uh cuz you know it isn't a lot of time we play uh I don't know two weeks from now um so you know getting to getting to be as familiar as possible with the Playbook uh is the big thing so I can just go out there play fast and play Carefree history chance to talk to AJ or Devonte or Jaylen Herz yet about like you know the offense and all that like a chance to with those guys um not not too much um just because I get I just got here and I I was kind of getting used to everything um and kind of getting introduced to the Playbook a little bit but you know I I've been having conversations with those guys about everything that's going on um and what we what they have going on here um so I I know I'll fit right in um but yeah I'm I'm just kind of stepping in and kind of getting to work on this Playbook and trying to get to learn everything you have a history of playing inside and outside at times are you more comfortable with one do you like one better than the other I wouldn't say so uh I'm pretty comfortable doing either one uh whatever they asked me to do I'm going to do it to fullest of my capability um yeah that's pretty much all it is I I don't I'm comfortable doing whatever wherever they put me you and AJ spent a lot of time in the offseason working out together what's your relationship like with him how did that develop yeah uh you know we we built a little bit of a relationship uh being that we were working out together in the offseason um but yeah it was it was pretty much just competing with each other um you know putting in the grind uh he's a fellow receiver so you know as much as I can learn from him as much as he can learn from me uh it's great being that you have someone like that uh that gets to push you every day in the offseason um to so try to get better and get to your goal being a first round pick did that put extra pressure on you do you think no not at all um I I dreamed of the being a first- round pick all my life so you know I prepared myself at the same time to to be one um that that was that was the goal uh and I I achieved that um I and every day I step out on the field it's my opportunity to to show you guys why I feel like I should be a first round pick uh so that's what I'm looking forward to doing when you look back at when you look back at your two years at Washington where do you feel like you have to prove the most as a wide receiver for yourself that you want to get better at what was that can yeah where do you want when you look back at your time in Washington where do you feel like you need to prove the most as a wide receiver um honestly uh it's completely different uh being that now I'm here in Philadelphia and I'm learning something completely new uh being with a different organization uh so they have different standards um different ways of doing things uh coach Amo let me know that already um so you know I feel like for me it's it's getting to know the Playbook um getting to know the way they do things around here um I kind of refer to it as you know going through different offenses in the NFL um everyone kind of preaches the same thing but it's just completely they say they say it a different way uh so I feel like it's like learning a different language that's how I refer to it so uh going from Chinese to Spanish uh as as fast as possible is is how I would put it uh and that will enable me to play fast play carefree and be the best version of myself growing up in Nazareth did you follow eag did you ever come toag game as a kid no I hate to say it but I was never an Eagles fan um but you know I'm making my whole family Eagles fans today I'm going to leave that out is there any story behind the ball there no um just keeping it in my hands uh being ready for my opportunity when it comes um so it's not so it's familiar uh it's familiar having this feeling um and just having it around me
