Week 2 NFL Picks; Bills-Dolphins Injury Report

good afternoon football fans Big Al here on this Thursday September 12th 2024 and welcome to my week 2 NFL picks I'll be picking all 16 games both straight up and against the spread and I'll give you the announcers of every game on the schedule this week but before we jump into my picks I want to take a look at the injury report heading into tonight's game and then we'll do a full a full look at the injury report for the remaining games on Friday so make sure you join me for that okay starting with the Buffalo Bills cornerback teron Johnson did not participate in practice this week he is been rolled out with a forarm injury defensive end Dwayne smooth also didn't practice this week he is out with a toe injury and defensive end Javon Solomon who was limited in practice He's listed as doubtful with an oblique injury listed also listed on the quarter on the injury report you've got quarterback Josh Allen who was a full participant in practice running back Ty Johnson who was limited in practice tight end Quinton Morris who was a full participator in practice and backup quarterback Mitch tuisy also was a full participant in practice this week they will be set the go tonight as for the Miami Dolphins running back Devin aain who did not practice this week he's questionable with an ankle so we may see him tonight we may not we will not see running back mem mostard he is out with a chest injury nor will we see wide receiver Malik Washington out with a quadricep neither participated in practice this week other players on the Dolph injury report include guard Leon ikenberg limited participation in practice linebacker David long full participation linebacker Jaylen Phillips and cornerback Jaylen Ramsey both Limited in practice this week I think they will be able to play tonight so that's the injury report for the Bills and Dolphins and again we will take a look at the full injury report for the other 15 games tomorrow all right now that that's all of the way let's get into my picks solid week for me to start the season I went 13 and3 straight up and 11 and5 against the spread pretty good week to start the season off let's see if we can continue this this weekend and it all kicks off with Thursday Night Football coming up in just a few hours as the 1 and0 Buffalo Bills visit the 1 and0 Miami Dolphins and whoever wins this game will be a top the AFC East by themselves by night's end the bills come in number six in my week two power rankings while the Dolphins are number nine that game is tonight at 8:15 Eastern on prime your announcers are Al Michaels Kirk herb Street and sideline reporter Kaylee Harang current point spread as of a.m. Pacific time as I wrote all these down is Miami minus 2 and A2 and the over under is set at 48 and A2 I'm going to be real here real here and I'm going to say this Josh Allen by far is the better quarterback in to attack of Viola I think the One X Factor in this game is is the Buffalo Bills safeties who pretty much got beat up last week against the Cardinals how will they Fair against that wide receiver the wide receiver threats of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen wad that's probably the one matchup I'm looking forward to in this game I picked the bills to win straight up 31 to 28 and get the game well over 482 and I'm taking the visiting bills plus 22 on the point spread now to the Sunday portion of the schedule you've got 10 games in the early window three in the late window and CBS will have the double header this week our first Sunday afternoon game is the 0-1 Cleveland Browns at the 0 And1 Jacksonville Jaguars the Browns are down to number 20 in my week 2 power rankings while the Jaguars are at number 16 this game is Sunday at 1 pm. Eastern on CBS and your announcers will be Chris Lewis Jason mccordi and sideline reporter Amanda Gara current point spread is Jacksonville minus three and the over under is at 41 I have the Jaguars winning at home 24 to 17 because I do not trust the Shawn Watson quarterback in the Browns the game will push to 41 points and I have Jacksonville as my ATS pick minus three next you have the Indianapolis Colts at the Green Bay Packers who are without Jordan love for at least the next couple of weeks this game is Sunday at 1: p.m. Eastern on Fox the Colts are number 25 in my we 2 power rankings while Green Bay is number 12 the announcers will be Joe Davis and Greg Olsen with sideline reports from Palam Oliver current point spread is Indie minus 2 and a half over under is 41 I have Indianapolis winning this game 2314 the game will finish under the point total and I'm taking the Colts on the road atus 20 and a half all right now you got the 0er and one Las Vegas Raiders visiting the 0o And1 Baltimore Ravens who put up quite the fight last week in the kickoff game against the Chiefs but came up short that game is Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern on CBS the Raiders are at number 26 in my week 2 power rankings the Ravens are number eight the announcers will be Andrew catalon and Tiki Barber with sideline reports from AJ Ross current point spread is Baltimore minus 9 and the over under is 41 and a half now once again the rivens will be facing Gardner menu as the starting quarterback and we saw menu play for the Indianapolis Colts against this Ravens team a year ago and they kept that game close in fact I think they beat the Ravens in that game but here I have the Ravens winning straight up 2620 I have the game going over 41 and a half and I'm taking Vegas at plus n because I think GI menu's play against the Colts last year or rather against the Ravens last year he'll keep this game close next up you've got the 1-0 Los Angeles Chargers at the 0 And1 Carolina Panthers Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern on CBS La comes in at number 19 in my week 2 power rankings while the Carolina Panthers who got smoked by the Saints last week fell back to the bottom at number 32 your announcers will be Tom McCarthy and Jay fely with sideline reports from Amanda balonis Amanda balones want to make sure I got her her name right current point spread is La minus 6 over under is 38 a half given how bad Bryce Young and the Panthers played last week I think that trend's going to continue again this week La wins 24 to 10 I have the game under 38 and a half and I'm taking the Chargers at minus 6 up next you've got the 1 and0 New Orleans Saints at the 1 and0 Dallas Cowboys both teams looking very impressive in week one the Saints of course blowing out the Haas Panthers while the Cowboys went to Cleveland and pretty much shut down the Browns this game is Sunday at 1: p.m. Eastern on Fox your announcers for this game will be Kevin burkart and Tom Brady with sideline reports from Aaron Andrews and Tom raldi currry point spread is Dallas minus 6 and the over under is 47 now the Saints as I said this mled of very bad Carolina team last week to the tuna 47 to10 this is a bit of a step off in compet facing the Dallas Cowboys this week and I don't think they'll be up to the task this week I don't even think the Saints will score 20 that said I have the boys winning 2817 the game will finish just under 47 and I'm taking Dallas minus 6 next up you have the battle for the basement in the NFC East the 0 And1 New York Giants at the 0 And1 Washington Commanders the Giants got this man too losing to the Minnesota Vikings at home while the commanders went the Tampa and lost by 16 points to the buck this game is Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern on Fox the announcers for this game will be Chris Meers and March larth and sideline reports by Jen Hil all right I forgot to mention the power rankings for the Saints and Cowboys New Orleans is number 17 and Dallas is number seven meanwhile the Giants are at number 31 in my week 2 power rankings while the commanders are just a couple spots up at number 29 current point spread is Washington minus one and the over under is 43 and yes this game will go under 43 that's your only spoiler for this one Washington wins 21 to 13 and I have the commanders covering that measley point meanwhile New York's other team the Jets who got socked in the face by the 49ers on Monday night they're in Nashville this week to face the Tennessee Titans both teams come in at 0 and one Sunday at 1: p.m. Eastern on CBS the announcers for this game will be ion eagle and Charles Davis with sideline reports from Evan Washburn the Jets are down to number 13 in my week 2 power rankings the Titans sit at 27 current point spread is the Jets at minus three and a half Andy over under at 41 this is going to be a closer game than anyone would otherwise think that said I have the Jets winning 2421 the game finishing over 41 points but I'm taking Tennessee at home plus the three and a half moving on we've got the 1 and0 San Francisco 49ers at the 1 and0 Minnesota Vikings Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern on CBS your announcers will be Kevin Harland and Trent green with sideline reports from Melanie Collins San Francisco comes in at number two in my week two power rankings retain in the same spot I gave him last week and the Vikings moved up to number 23 current point spread is San Francisco minus 5 and the over under is 46 this is a Revenge spot for the 49ers remember they went into Minnesota last mon last year on Monday Night Football and lost 2217 I don't see that happening this time I think it's going to be a closer game but but it's going the other way I have the ners winning 24 to 20 I got the game going under 46 but I'm taking Minnesota plus the Five Points at home bang bang Niner gang let's go next you've got the 1 and0 Seattle Seahawks who beat b Knicks and the Denver Broncos last week visiting Foxboro to face the 1 and0 New England Patriots who by far had the biggest upset in week one knocking off the Cincinnati Bengals in Cincinnati this game is Sunday at 1M Eastern on Fox your announcers are Kenny Albert and Jonathan Velma Li sideline reports from Megan olivy the Seahawks coming at number 22 and my week to Power Rankings while New England is number 24 Curry point spread is Seattle minus 3 and a half and the over under is at a very low 38 and I think it'll be around that point total this week I think the Seahawks win straight up 20 to 17 the game will finish one point below 38 but I'm taking the Patriots at home at plus three next you got a rematch of the NFC divisional playoff between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions Sunday at 1 pm Eastern on Fox the announcers are Kevin cougler and Daryl Johnson and sideline reporter Laura Oakman the Bucks moved up to number 15 in my week 2 power rankings while the Lions hangs tight at number four current point spread is Detroit byus 7 and a half over under is the biggest on the board at 51 and a half and I think think there will be points in this game the Bucks are dealing with some injuries but I don't think that's going to stop the lions from doing what they need to do I have Detroit winning 31 to 21 the game will finish just over 51 and a half and I'm taking the lions at home at minus 7 a half now to the three late game starting off with an NFC West battle the 0o And1 Los Angeles Rams who are dealing with injury concerns themselves facing off against Kyler Murray and the 0 And1 Arizona Cardinals Sunday at 4:05 Eastern on Fox your announcers for this game will be Adam Aman and Mark shareth and sideline reporter Christina Pink the Rams come in at number 14 in my week two power rankings while Arizona sits at 28 current point spread is Arizona minus one and again that has to do with all those injuries the Rams are suffering through and the over under is at 47 a half for about say 35 minutes or so the Cardinals like very impressive against the Buffalo Bills until they gave until they called off down the stretch and ended up losing by six points the Rams played admirably against the Lions their defense in particular but I think losing puka ncoa to an injury is not good and a couple other notable players and we'll get into that in the injury report tomorrow but I still think the Rams are a better team the Cardinals have no defense and I think Matthew Stafford should carve him up so I have La winning 27 to 24 the game will go over 47 and a half so you know that Cardinals offense is a lot of fun and I'm taking La plus the one your game of the week is the 0o and one Cincinnati Bengals who were embarrassed at home by the New England Patriots facing off against the 1 and0 Kansas City Chiefs the two-time reigning Super Bowl champions had a hard fault win in the kickoff game last week against Baltimore Sunday at 4:25 Eastern on CBS the announcers will be Jim Nance and Tony Romo with sideline reporter Tracy wolson the Bengals are number 10 in my latest Power Rankings while the Chiefs remain at number number one current point spread is Kansas City minus 52 and the over under is 48 A2 I think Joe burrow should play a lot better this week than he did last week against the Patriots and they will keep this a tight matchup with their AFC Rivals have the Chiefs winning 31 to 28 I have the game shooting over 48 and 4 8 and a half but I'm taking Cincinnati on the road at plus 5 and A2 final Sunday afternoon game is the Pittsburgh Steelers who didn't score a touchdown to beat the Atlanta Falcons last week they're facing off with the B Knicks L Denver Broncos who surprisingly kept it close with the Seahawks but ended up falling short Sunday at 4:25 Eastern on CBS announcers are Sparro oidas Adam archeleta and sideline reporter ADI Koba all right the Steelers coming at number 11 in my latest Power Rankings while the Broncos are at number 30 current point spread is Pittsburgh minus 2 and a half and the over under is the lowest of all the games at 36 and a half and clearly I think it's going to be below that number Justin Fields looks like he's expected to start Sunday as Russell Wilson continues to recover from his latest injury I have the Steelers winning 20 to 13 got the game going under 36 and2 and I'm taking the steel boys at minus 2 and A2 moving on to Sunday Night Football and a battle of two of two of the hottest young quarterbacks in the NFL well at least one of them are on one side you've got the Chicago Bears and the number one overall draft pick Caleb Williams facing off with CJ shroud and the Houston Texans Dr was of course one of the first players taken in the 2023 draft and he had a monster rookie year and to continue that in 2024 that is Sunday night at 8:20 Eastern on NBC and streaming on peacock the Bears come in at number 21 in my week 2 power rankings and the Texans stay at number three the announcers for this game will be Mike too and Chris Collinsworth and sideline reporter Melissa Stark current point spread is Houston minus 6 and the over under is at 45 A5 I have the Texans winning this one 31- 17 cuz the Bears offense last week looked God awful against the Tennessee Titans but somehow they managed to erase a 17-point deficit and win I don't think that happens two weeks in a row so again I got Houston winning 31- 17 I have have the game going over 45 a half and I'm taking the Texans minus the six and finally we have Monday Night Football as the 0er And1 Atlanta Falcons face off with Pennsylvania's other team the 1 and0 Philadelphia Eagles who played a bit sloppy against the Green Bay Packers down in Brazil last Friday but they still got the dub nonetheless that's Monday night at 8:15 ONN and this game will be broadcast locally on WW Channel 69 in Atlanta and on ABC owned and operated station W pvi Channel 6 in Philadelphia the announcers will be Joe Buck and Troy Eggman with sideline reports from Lisa Salters Atlanta comes in at number 18 in my week two power rankings and the Philadelphia Eagles are at number five currry point spread is Philly minus 6 and a half and the over under sits at 47 all right so this may be a Redemption game for Kirk Cousins given how bad he played against the Steelers last week but then again the Eagles continue to own Kurt Cousins remember those last few meetings with the Minnesota Vikings none of them went pretty well for for Kurt Cousins but I think with the defense of the Eagles still still in the learning curve I think the Falcons will score some points I have Philadelphia winning straight up 2721 I've got the game going over over 47 just over 47 but I'm taking Atlanta plus the 6 and 1 12 points cuz I think Kurt Cousins will at least give jayen Herz and Company a run okay those are my week two NFL picks straight up in against the spread plus the injury report entering tonight's Bills Dolphins game and again we will take a look at the other games
