Intro well ladies and gentlemen we are in the midst of the college football off season and I figured I would give a little update on all of the renovations that are taking place right now potentially ones in the future we've got new news on a potential massive $700 million Penn State Beaver Stadium renovation that's supposedly going to be voted on this week and we might get new renderings on that the Florida situation in Gainesville what's going on could they potentially add some type of overhang but we're going to talk about big news right now with Nebraska so I covered Nebraska this last year it was like late September early October they came out and said look we're getting a huge renovation to both end zones apparently now they've scaled back the renovation for the time being and it's not going to be begin until after the 2025 football season the plan is to replace both of the end zones right now you can see the way they're seated it's just kind of a prehistoric design they're massive walls of seats obviously you would love to modernize that there's really only been one rendering that was revealed and it's not even a rendering it's like a core image of what it could potentially look like I do think the stadium is in need of a big time renovation they originally estimate the project to be around 450 million doll and they also do R to want to reduce the seats by at least 10,000 the first F phase of the renovation apparently would temporarily remove nearly 25k seats and that would probably happen for a season and that's the unique thing with college football where the stadiums are under construction sometimes while games are being played we saw it last year with Vanderbilt and we're seeing it with some places this year we're seeing teams actually have to leave their stadiums this year like Kansas I'm going to talk about that renovation in a little bit they're going to be playing at Arrowhead you've got the Northwestern situation they're probably going to begin construction on their new stadium here soon they've knocked down Ryan Field it is gone and we've got an update on where they going to be playing but when it comes to this Nebraska situation I don't know what they mean by scaled it down it does seem like a renovation is in store for both of the seating areas the walls of seats behind the end zones because they do need to be modernized and $450 million for a college football renovation that's a lot of money so I do think this is going to be good thing that's a weird image right there it almost looks like a Roman Coliseum I think that was a fan design there's no way they go with something like that but that's just kind of a presentation of what potentially it kind of might look like you do have the Texas Tech renovation so this will be done in time for the season and I was able to find an updated photo this was probably a few days ago this was from a live stream this screenshot and you can see it's basically done it looks very nice looks very modern obviously they still need to put the bricking on most of those outer walls but yeah those arches they're very pronounced I I really do like this renovation it's very professional for for Texas Tech they've already sold out I think all of their season tickets so it's becoming a hot ticket there good for them and then the Northwestern Northwestern situation you can see this is where they will be playing their first four games unless they have seven home games I'm not sure it's either their first four or five games and then they've announced they will be playing their last two home games at Wrigley Field just like I thought they would because Ohio State's coming to town you're not going to want to play Ohio State at a facility like this where it's a temporary practice thing and you have to put up seeding they will be playing Ohio State at Wrigley Field it's been confirmed and then also Illinois on November 30th they will be playing at Wrigley Field the reason they can't play at Wrigley Field before November is because what if the Cubs are potentially in the playoffs obviously they're not going to want any scheduling conflicts you're not going to want them ripping up the field while MLB playoff games are going on so there was some talk that maybe they would do something really cool with this seating and make it kind of like the Waste Management Open which is kind of a fun golf tournament in Arizona and they've got one of the holes surrounded by like this crazy seating that's built up like walls of almost SE not even seating it's like standing room areas but apparently they're not doing that now they might add in some additional seats this is a very unique thing where they're right on the water and I do think the early season games are going to be pretty cool if they did have to play games here later in the year it would probably be really bad considering the wind and the potential wind chill off of the water so early in the season in September when it's 75 80° a beautiful place to watch a football game it's not going to be a good HomeField Advantage for Northwestern at all but nonetheless we're not expecting Northwestern obviously to be that great Vanderbilt of a football team you do have Vanderbilt and their renovation much needed they have already removed a ton of seats behind both of the end zones the big thing came out last year they had to you know hold up the scoreboards with cranes because both of the end zones were construction s you can take a look at some of the progress this was back a few months ago so I would imagine I think Vanderbilt should have one of the end zones done for the start of the season but I still think the other one still has a ton of work left this is a long project but it's needed and it's going to look really good for Vandy football we all know Vandy and the SEC it's very tough for them but at least their Stadium's getting a lot better you do have the Kansas situation so they're adding a whole another Upper Deck I saw some photos of their current Stadium what it looked like this winter they're basically ripping most of it up like like almost all of it is getting ripped up it seems like they're saving you know a few sections behind both of the sidelines but a lot of it is coming down that's a huge renovation I'm surprised they said it was only $300 million it seems like they're completely rebuilding the stadium and adding an entirely new Upper Deck to it this was another renovation that was much needed Kansas football is getting better they're in a conference now without Oklahoma without Texas it's going to be easier for them to compete and this should be another really nice renovation but they will not be here obviously for this year they're going to be playing at Arrowhead Stadium I think it's going to be really bad in terms of HomeField Advantage for them actually you know what they're playing at an MLS soccer stadium for the first few games when they face crap opponents and then they're playing their conference games at Arrowhead but I'm guessing the entire upper deck of Arrowhead is going to be closed there's no way they're going to be able to sell that many tickets so I do think the HomeField Advantage will be very bad for Kansas but it's only going to be for one season the next renovation update I do have it is Penn State so yes the vote is happening this week finally for a potential $700 million renovation to Beaver Stadium now the renderings that you are seeing I believe these are back in 2018 so these are certainly out of date but these kind of remind me of like a Kyle Field situation it just looks like there's a ton of seating like they've got that Upper Deck going around 34 of the stadium it seems like it's completely rebuilt they've taken out basically all of the bleacher seating and replaced it with regular seating the upper deck the way it it angles it kind of reminds me of Levi Stadium at least from the one side but but obviously it's wrapped all the way around looks like a ton of seating and then also I would expect an exterior design they're going to close off the exterior probably put some type of either glass or brick to really make that better and modern it so this is going to be a huge renovation they're voting on it this week their board is and if it goes through I'm sure we're going to get some big time renderings possibly phase one starting maybe in 2025 phase two possibly being completed in 2026 but we've been waiting on that one for a while and maybe there'll be an update and then when it comes to the swamp the University of Florida there's been no update on this one unfortunately it's supposed to be a $400 million renovation to the stadium I am very interested with the way stadiums are going now in the state of Flor Florida will they potentially add an overhang to it my initial inclination is they're not going to but we'll see they this Stadium by the way you could say well it's legendary it does need a renovation or at least a modernization just looking at it so I do think they will be changing a bunch of the seats probably adding in some actual seats taking out some bleachers and then also you're going to get behind one of the end zones I would guess some type of builtup bar area restaurant area take a look I mean I talked about Missouri that was the big one that came down about a month ago $250 million renovation that will be happening this is a little bit more than that and when they do get it it'll be interesting because there is some talk of them possibly hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars when the Jaguars have to leave EverBank stadium that could potentially be happening in 2027 so they might get a renovation and then also host an NFL team for a season and then we also do have news on South Florida so we know they're getting a new stadium and they've announced this past week that they will break ground on the new stadium on October 14th during their homecoming week so that's going to be happening and yes that is the updated rendering of what the stadium will look like I mean we remember the original renderings it kind of look just like a weird Circle I will say when you look at the original renderings the Landscaping was a lot better you had a nice peaceful Sanctuary area you've got a nice little Pond surrounding the stadium and the updated renderings I mean the stadium looks a lot better the surrounding area kind of looks like crap to me I mean there's a bunch of tense for tailgating I get it but I don't know I I think the they should have left the original Landscaping but either way that's going to be happening and you know what it's a decent it's going to be a nice little thing for South Florida $350 million for that stadium and they're not going to have to play at Raymond James Stadium anymore so I'm sure they're going to be very happy about that and then how about Hawaii this is a very sad situation this just came out in a major Milestone two finalists selected for massive loha Stadium Redevelopment project and so let me just explain what this rendering is they have scaled down this Stadium massively to be honest this rendering looks like they're half building a stadium I I don't know what this is and I'm guessing because they have had so many problems getting this new Aloha Stadium off the ground that I think they've just said you know what let's just make it like $200 million or100 million just to get out of the chain complex you know which is where they play at their practice facility and this is just what are we doing here with this this is like a this is a kitty football field here it's it looks like it's got the capacity of 15,000 so I don't know what's going on you can say well we're excited we're getting a new stadium that is not I don't know man maybe there my my thought is that they can't really get the money to build a fully completed stadium that would cost $350 $400 million kind of like South Florida and maybe also the cost of building in Hawaii is a lot higher materials getting them you can understand that so maybe that's also a big issue but this is the new renderings that they came up with there's no overhang it looks just totally Barren I almost wonder if you know maybe this it looks like a factory right there what do we got like a bunch of semi it's like Amazon dropping off some packages or something I don't know what's going on there but with Hawaii we'll see what happens that is not an encouraging rendering it's like you you want to actually build a decent Stadium you you want a new stadium for sure but let's make sure it's at least a solid Stadium here but either way those are just the major updates when it comes to Future college football stadium Renovations that's going to do it for this video make sure you follow me on X link to that's always in the description
