over to you Grace because we have to talk about El Marti J Dominguez all like Grace likes to sing go ahead Grace because I can't hit that note Jason Dominguez yeah you heard it go ahead Grace talk talk your ish oh my gosh I'm so excited when I got the news I ran around my house like Christmas morning and I was a little kid and Santa came I mean I am so so happy this is the perfect time to call him up I was telling Hector I went to two games last week in Texas and the team just looked absolutely exhausted lifeless no energy I mean it was so frustrating to be [Music] there and you know yelling for them and cheering for them and even though we were in Texas and even though we were in the world series champions own home stadium there was let's go Yankees chance going on every other person that I saw in the stadium was wearing Yankees blue I mean we were we were in there we were trying to help them and they were like zombies y'all zombies frustrated when they would strike out and this wasn't just one or two players this was many of the players they would throw their batting helmet throw their gloves off throw that you know throw all their equipment down and and March out to their I mean they were frustrated but there was no hope in sight there was no spark that spark that we needed is Jason Dominguez okay they call the Martian up first of all re-energize the fan base absolutely give us hope give us excitement give us something to tune in and watch go to the stadium to watch be excited about okay but also the rest of the guys in that room excited about Young Blood you know number one Prospect highly touted um switch hitter can play multiple positions in the Outfield can steal bases I mean he has stolen don't sleep on his Bas stealing ability and he's sweet he's excited to be there you know he's got those those little 21- year-old eyes that are puppy dog eyes yeah puppy dog eyes just happy to be there this is going to go so far to inject life into the order into the defense into everything right at the right time we are gameing a half ahead of Baltimore we are in a a tight division race and we need to win the division y'all and I know earlier in the year I said well I don't really care if we win the wild card or win the you know get in by the wild card or win the division because blah blah blah forget that we need to win the division okay because y'all the Astros the Astros are a nail a thorn in my side you know what I'm saying so let them because they're gonna come in having the lowest record probably let them get get tossed out by somebody else before we have to see them that's my that's what I hope okay yeah so we need to win the division it's so important and it's looking good it's looking good no yeah and and and to piggyback what you said right um that Series in Texas I was going through it right because I was worried about you my good friend Grace Monroe I know that you and your husband were at the stadium um watching the Yankees and and the Texas Rangers they out there in Arlington and the first game the Yankees won but then the next two game the Yankees laid an egg obviously Klay Holmes exploded and he's not at closer anymore and then our pitching staff the next game didn't show up and we got rocked right but as of right now September 10th the New York Yankees we are a game and a half or two games up in the AL East ahead of the Baltimore Orioles with everything that we have went through as Yankee fans as a team see going through our emotions with Klay Holmes going through our frustrations with Brian Cashman and not calling up Jason Dominguez Yankee fans Tuesday September 10th we are still up two almost two games I got to get the somebody in the chat put the exact amount of games that we are up right now for me please but just just know that and I know we got our series we have a series coming up with Baltimore towards the end of the year we have to try to pad that lead as much as we can before we go into Baltimore because if we go into Baltimore with a one game League or a two game League that is dangerous because if we get swept that's it this everything that I just said you could take it and throw it out the window but if we go into that series with a two game to three- game League nose B say SE a game and a half thank you so much Theo if we go into that series with a solid League it gives us breathing room so if we do lose two out of three knock on would hopefully we don't if we do get swept it's not going to put us behind the eight ball that much you still got to win the games that are in front of you but this is why this is why when you lose games that you're supposed to win and now you're in September you're kicking yourself in the tail because we should have won that series against the white socks we should won that Series against the Brewers there's so many games that we lost we should have won that series on multiple games against the Marlins there were so many games that we lost that we should have won against the Cardinals we wouldn't be having this conversation right now hell these last three series if we would have won these last three series we wouldn't have a one and a half game League we possibly could have a three- game League or a three and a half game league in our division let me shout out the chat before we continue my guy NF in the strike zone hi get doing LF divers in the building my guy Julian Blum Julian I hope all is well my guy I know Julian's killing it with Fashion Week and his photography Julian my guy salute to you bro I hope all is well and I cannot wait to talk Nicks basketball baby um FL divver shout out to FL divver sha Browning is in the building Richie Martinez is in the building truth always said Hector are you going September 14th to the game I'm waiting right now I'm waiting on um waiting on a press pass um through Latino Sports I'll be at the stadium later on today a part of Hispanic uh media day with the Yankees with latino Sports I gotta be there by one o'clock that's why the show's ending at 12 today but it's going to be a good day I'm going to try to be there on Saturday I can't promise anything um Saturday is a lot going on my friend Dexter Henry I just remembered right now Dexter Henry reached out to me to have me on his show September 14th that Saturday to kick to kick off his anic heritage month so I'll be in studio in SNY early Saturday morning and then let's see what happens after Saturday but I'mma bring up Damien because I know Damian he got some stuff to get off his chest talking about Dominguez and talking about these New York Yankees so we gotta bring up the Fly Guy Damian Damian good morning my brother good morning good morning Grace Hector how y'all doing today good good good to see you Damen Miss is up the Yankees are winning J you know Damen has a smile on his face you know he's not frustrated you know no I'm not frustrated first and foremost salute Hector uh with the Latino Sports situation uh brother you doing big things and you're doing it for the uh for the community uh you know keep doing it for the culture my man you doing big things I you know listen everybody the community the chat everybody salute my man heck he's doing he's doing his thing thank you bro I appreciate you my guy go I know you don't like to talk about yourself but I'm I'm gonna do it for you thank you bro uh listen man Dominguez is up is what we wanted you know put a little fire on the Doogie uh on the doogie's ass as we know Doogie came out yesterday uh hit a bomb uh you know hit two hits last night uh Dominguez you know for all the haters you know I had a couple haters in the other chat saying you only went one for four the guy created a run right uh single stole a base uh created a Havoc got to run in uh which you know let let's call it Spade to Spade we're not going to see that from uh from Doogie you know not putting any hate on for Dugo but it is what it is he's a better player right uh shout out to glabber Torres continuing his hot streak at lead off where would the Yankees be without glaber at lead off right now solidified that spot Grace he solidified that spot you saw her ey twitch her face didn't didn't move at all but that one little OD switch you know uh we know how much grace loves glaba um and listen uh we would probably be we're not sweating what we're sweating because the Yankees stuck with Klay Holmes for so long uh him alone 11 blown saves we probably be up four or five games at this point but it is what it is the Yankees corrected it and this is the first time probably since what April May that the Yankees are whole you got John birdie back Ian Hamilton back you guys you have the entire team as a whole so finally this team is where it needs to be the bullpen is where it needs to be and you listen that's that'sa Cortez the other day what he said no problems with it because if we're in this shoes we feel the same way right um especially when you got have a guy like Marcus strowman whose numbers are and what nest's numbers are who hasn't pitched as many innings as nest's pitched um but coming you know into the fold in the future that's a I think that's a recipe for Success having nestler piggy back whether it's Schmidt whether it's heel whatever the case may be specifically in the playoffs so the Yankees are in a really good spot right now and uh what up Maza and just to say what up to Oar uh you're pretty bastard as you want to say call myself and everybody FL divver there he goes and everybody else in the uh everybody else in the chat good morning I'm happy this morning I'm like I'm feeling good I'm feeling good yes absolutely shout out to anamarie leu in the chat says good morning y'all fun game last night absolutely Anna right and I'm I'mma piggy back off the point that Grace was talking about uh with the mingz before we get into Verdugo but Baseball America they put it up yesterday right uh Jason Dominguez he gets a hit a stolen base and his MLB return the Yankees called up Jason Dominguez on Monday ending weeks of speculation of when he would arrive to provide a boost to the offense and in his first game Jason Dominguez did exactly that he gave a boost to the offense right Yankee fans we have been screaming and we have been begging for a while for Jason Dominguez to get called up and and guess what the Martians here right whether it was last week or whether it was two weeks from that we understood that at some point we would see Jason Dominguez right we were just frustrated with how the front office was handling the entire situation especially when the reports came out that Brian Cashman and Aaron boom both agreed that Alex vugo was the best option at the time now now now Grace I love the face right but now right um when you look at Alex for he has had a roller coaster of a season right the first month of a half two months of the Season it was beautiful the dogs were out Yankee fans were barking in Yankee Stadium I know some MLB fans found it a little bit cringey well guess what when're Yankee fans we're gonna make [ __ ] cringey go [ __ ] yourself at the end of the day right I understand that but as the season went on Alex fouo struggles they started to to to stand out and it wasn't just standing out like oh wellow you see that right there it was standing out like a sore thumb you could really see the struggles of Alex rugo not only in the batting box but in the field as well you know and it came out about a month and a half ago a month ago that Alex rugo is actually allergic to the material that is inting in his batting gloves so you kind of understand why he is rolling over on certain balls or he's not having great at bats right but Jason Dominguez same thing Jon Dominguez is allergic to the same material in the batting gloves he switched up his batting gloves and over the past 15 games I got some stats real real quick because we got to give flowers when we got to give flowers we gotta you got we got to read people to filth when we read people to filth but in his past 15 games Alex Verdugo he has a 333 batting average he has two home runs five RBI and he has a Ops of 831 granted did it come at probably the worst time when all of us are calling for Jason Dominguez to be up here absolutely but I'm happy Alex Verdugo is actually performing right now and he's actually on fire in the pregame Nick swisser he said it competition it brings out the best in in players right iron sharpens iron if if Alex vugo if he doesn't have any worries about possibly losing his job he's not going to give 150% right you know what I saw from Alex fouo yesterday yes he got two hits but in those other at bats he was running down the first Baseline exactly he wasn't Lolly gagging it down the first Baseline so having Jon Dominguez up here having that Locker in the locker room and having Alex Verdugo having to second guess like oh my God is my job actually safe that's what you need that's especially when you're trying to make a a run in September for the postseason you need your locker room and you need the teammates in there rallying each other and holding each other accountable and everybody just make each other better sorry for the very long- winded explanation right now this longwinded take but but when it comes to this it's a microcosm right Alex Verdugo he handled it the right way I got his quote right now Alex Verdugo this shout out to Max Goodman this is what Verdugo says speaking on Jason Dominguez he's going to come up here he's gonna play he's gonna help this team win whatever that means that means right if I lose a little bit of playing time I lose a little bit of playing time at the end of the day I want to win the only thing that matters is getting to the playoffs and winning there and Alex voule he said everything right go ahead Grace you can kill it and kill my take if you want no uh yeah I I agree I think that's a great quote by Verdugo you know you don't want him to say like yeah I'm so excited that he's here and I don't care you know he he cares he wants to win that's what we want to hear as fans and that's what the team should want to hear as well a team first mentality going into October is so important and when a player like this who knows he's not going to get resigned you know he knows he's going to be headed into free agency to to be able to say yeah I'll be a role player in the playoffs and I want to win I'm going to show out and then I'm going to go get myself a Payday you know that's the exact mentality that I would have wanted him to have and the the bottom line is here we got to put our best players on the field going into postseason period that's it it's as simple as that and Jason Dominguez is one of the best players in the Yankees organization so whether he plays Left Field or whether he plays Centerfield or whether he dh's or whether who who knows what they're going to do with him but he needs to be on the um on on the team period you know Dam what's your thoughts on that and folks in the chat we we got over 50 people in the building rocking with us right now if you guys can smack that like button on YouTube and if you also can interact with the Emojis just smash the emojis that's right there in the chat it helps get the live out to other Yankee fans let's get more people in the building go ahead Dan if only House St praded that same competition with Cashman we'd have a better GM right so um just saying yeah um listen doogie's quotes they exactly spot on um you know that's exactly what you want to hear uh from somebody like that a veteran in the game uh you know bringing in a young stud like Dominguez who's obviously athletically better um you know you yet you know we have a small sample size of Dominguez could be uh offensively um but I think offensively he's better defensively I think that's where Doogie comes in and doogie trumps him a little bit so to speak but at the end of the day again you got to put your best players on the on the team and for a long time for two three months Alex Verdugo was not the best option at that time um currently probably still isn't the best option but as long as we can create that competition as long as he can continue that same mind frame saying listen if this young kid's gonna help us win then I'm all for it then the Yankees will go far as far as can go um but again it's it's all about it's all about Cashman it's all about Boone how much time how much leash are you going to give Dominguez it it has he has to be in the lineup every single day yeah um yeah he has to be whether it's you know tonight he goes in for Doogie another night you know he goes in for judge as center field like they did last night get judge off his feet a little bit because I do think you know judge being as big as he is playing that center field which is grueling right we need judge as fresh as possible going into the playoffs and I think that's part of the rut that he's in right now he's a little wore out um and you know who can say that you blame him right him and Soto both they got to be a little wore out not only you know soda's used to play in 162 right however he's not used to playing 162 in the Bronx again the Pinstripes are heavy it's different so it is grueling physically and mentally so having Dominguez is going to give everybody a fresh a fresh start let let him play some right field put SoDo at a d8 spot put C Center judge um Dominguez right doie left have sto DH so there's ways to keep this kid in the lineup they just have to be creative with it but I'm all for he's gonna he's gonna be a sparkl yeah no you definitely got to get creative with it DH judge as much as you can I know if you DH judge that means John caros stanson is is sitting right but it is it is what it is um when you look at it right when you look at the different possibilities of of a lineup this is what you want this is the problem that you want you want to have these type of conversations these these gut-wrenching decisions that you have to make who to play and who not to play but one of the tough decisions the Yankees had to do and this is something that we were talking about we've been talking about over the past two weeks DJ lameu the Yankees plays DJ lameu on the iil right and they they they say that it's a lingering hip issues his hip injury and I've been preaching it ever since he got his contract extension he had hip surgery that's the downfall of DJ Leu but there's a lot of speculation going on and and and how the Yankees handle this is it is it a phantom iil the Yankees just trying to do right by DJ lameu and not just da DF DFA him the Yankees they have to get creative with their PR approach from this right and hear me out when I say this if you're telling me that it's a hip issue it's a lingering hip injury that that he's on the iio and it's retro Dat Back to like September 6 or whatever it is September 5th you're telling me that you had DJ lameu out there at first base and third base with a bad hip for about a month just forcing him out there while you was sitting Ben rice Ben rice Oswaldo Cabrera who's healthy as well so so you had DJ lameu grounding out into double plays after Double plays costing us games with a hip injury when you had other guys who are healthy and you see what Ben rice is doing now with everyday playing time he's hitting home runs left and right down there at Triple A so that's what happens when players get everyday repetition especially young players and to me is poor handling is poor management I get it you want to be good to your veterans and you want to have great rapport with veterans around the league but if you're trying to win games if you're trying to win games and yes of course of course when I bring up DJ lahu my guy Li Yankee King will pop in the chat because my guy La Yankee King has been right when it comes to DJ I told youa shout out my guy Li Yankee King you know what L Li for GM that's what it is because everything that Li has been saying over the past year about 50% of the [ __ ] has come the other 50% is you you just get lost in the win but Yankee King saying that Aaron judge should start taking ground balls at first base people laughed at him and guess what judge started taking ground us at first base right La Yankee King saying that the Yankees should play jazz Chism at third base guess what they're playing him at third base La Yankee King saying that DJ lameu needs to be gone well guess what he's gone shout out my guy L Yankee King great to see you in the chat I feel him blushing through the uh I feel I feel him blushing through right through theen see him blushing through the computer screen right now I always think about I'm sorry no no I I just gonna say real quick but ultimately when it comes to DJ lameu it's a tough decision but it's a decision that need to happen sorry Grace no I'm sorry I was just gonna piggy back on the LI conversation because I always think about him freaking out Grace style when we traded Jack Neely and how he was like this was a mistake that's our future closer what are we doing like just losing his mind over it and then what happened couple weeks later what do we need a closer well some of us have been asking for a closer all year and saying that that was our number one priority going into the trade deadline however regardless of that um we could have called up Jack neie right about meow you know um and I think yeah me and I think about all the time and the Jack neing and how he was so upset and everything oh man yeah yeah shout out shout out to ell La Yankees rants are legendary I know some people they don't like engaging with li well guess what I hope you stub your toe on the way to the bathroom at heck I'll be back in a heck I'll be back in a couple of seconds I'll be right back all right do do you think Damen as as Damien rejoins us right um just want to bring this up again right uh because Aaron Boon says DJ lameu like I said his hip injury was lingering for the past few weeks but on the season so far DJ lahu his stats speak for thems he has a 204 batting gavage two home runs 26 RB he has a 527 Ops DJ lahu he's a shell of the former player that he once was was DJ lameu uh a great Yankee at one point absolutely did he help contribute to this team absolutely he had a he had a he had a a home run in the postseason that tied up the game and would have been legendary if AAL just Chapman and blow the league to um to to Altuve in the bottom half of the inning right but right now if the New York Yankees if we're serious about winning if we're serious about putting the best team on the field there's no world that DJ lameu could fit into that equation if you're trying to have the best roster if you're trying to have the best lineup on the field better than your opponent DJ lameu cannot be a part of that conversation if you have to put him on a phantom ey to do right by him you put him on a phantom I to do right by him I think he has what three years left of his deal 45 million left the Yankees is still on for some money when it comes to DJ lahu but it it is what it is you know now we just got to move forward I wouldn't be surprised if they kept him and then we saw him next year and they tried to figure out some type of role for him on the team still whatever type of role whatever capacity that would be I I don't know but I would not be surprised in the least to see him stay on this iil um sit out the postseason and then come back in Spring I wouldn't be surprised in the least I know they're going to try to squeeze every last drop out of that um contract and that asset and that's how they do it I mean they don't they don't just DFA people like they take forever to decide to DFA people um I mean I wouldn't I wouldn't be surprised yeah I I wouldn't be surprised either if it's after this year because when you look at his contract he's he's making $15 million for the rest of the season and then he's on the books for next year and the year after so it's just two and a half years or two and a quarter years left on his contract when you when you compare that to Aaron Hicks Aaron Hicks had about three years left and 30 Millions left on his deal before the Yankees DFA him right so so if I'm using that metric from Hicks to to DJ lahu DJ lahu after this year will have 30 million left the same amount of money Aaron Hicks had left before the Yankees DFA so it's most likely going to be after this season maybe DJ lahu comes back and is in spring training next year and during the first month of the season if it doesn't go well for DJ lahu I think the Yankees will DFA him next year it's it's probably during the off season if not during the offseason it definitely would be through next year if he doesn't bounce back or if he doesn't if he doesn't turn out to just be an average Major League player because when you look at it he's 35 35 years old I just turned 35 this past Sunday right shout out to me right I'm 35 years old and I have hip issues the same like DJ lahu if I was the Yankees would I cut my ass I will cut my ass at a heartbeat because my hip issues make it hard for me to go to the bathroom sometimes okay that's but no um TMI TMI but no um I they bringing back I would be shocked I would be shocked if they DFA him in the off season and didn't at least give it one more try that is just Yankees to the to the core to bring him back for one more try just to see if maybe they could catch something you know if he could work during the off season and try to focus on changing his game to focus on a certain couple things that they want him to be a role player for and and bring him back just to see because they're already paying him so just bring him back just to see and they I gu I just I that smells like Yankees to me so but I mean it's it's unfortunate we all love DJ this is not the way we want nobody wanted it to go down like this and it's tough It's just reality and you know and you know if when we win the World Series he'll still get a ring that's it he still get a ring you know he'll be he'll be he'll be at the parade on the floor you know it is what it is but DJ lameu you are you are you are not the same player um like Anna says you could be a coach you could be a coach R ra guy to have on the bench be that veteran leader that we need to help Inspire the young kids but I just want to move on real quick I want to highlight the Yankees lineup so we're going to go through the lineup real quick we're going to talk about who was some standout performers for me but you got glabber Torres leading it off he was three for five had a RBI Anthony vuli came in as a pinch Runner and was a defensive substitute he played Short Stop for the remainder of the game Juan sto he was one for two he had three walks so Juan stto is keeping the walks going you had Aaron judge two for four with an RBI hopefully this means judge is hit is heating up he's still hitting 322 on the season Austin bleeping Wells at the Mino Austin Wells two for five four RB a home run this kid you know is killing it 252 ever since taking over in the in the cleanup spot our offense this team has had a jol of electricity uh energy that we have needed Jazz Chen was 0 for three he's hitting 262 on the season Jason Dominguez one for four on the night and and you like that right Anthony Riz was 0 for four osalo Cabrera was one for three and Alex verdoy the Doogie Meister he was two for four but for me the stand out has to be Austin Wells like I said ever since taking over the leadoff spot check this out as a cleanup hitter I mean taking off with the cleanup spot as a cleanup hitter in the 27 Games Austin Wells is hitting 309 he has a 373 on base percentage he has a 909 Ops six home runs and 26 RB in that time span there's only one cleanup hitter that has a higher o o Ops than him and I think it's some random ass person on on the Oakland A's I don't know I I forgot the person's name but when you look at it Austin Wells he is producing at a big time level when Jose chavinho went down and he was placed on the iil and Austin Wells took over took over to Everyday catching spot we didn't know what we was going to get out of Austin WS because it was a up and down season but he has locked in and he has turned into that hitter that we all thought he was going to be Jason Dominguez said it in the postgame he said I'm not surprised as what I'm seeing from Austin Wells I expect this from him knowing the type of player he is and guess what that first game that I went down with with my beautiful girlfriend Alex to watch Jon Dominguez and Austin Wells with the Tampa Bay tarpons you know what I saw I saw not only the Jason Dominguez get a double but Austin Wells hit a ball that left George M steinber a field and I was talking with the security guards and one of them said that not that many minor league players can do that and Austin Wells did that and you see his Approach at the play you see how he switched up his batting stands and when you're watching The Dugout Austin Wells he has a very old scool approach when you look at his catching gear he has that Jorge pada catching gear when you see him in the Dugout he's around the pitching staff talking and communicating with the pitching staff going through that iPad if it was if it was 1996 it wouldn't be an iPad it would be a big binder because that's how much he is locked in so shout out to Austin Wells that's my standout player in the lineup what about you Grace I mean he's going to win rookie of the year if he doesn't win Rookie of the Year it's going to be a travesty okay because he is putting up numbers as good or better than cowser and he has not played nearly as many games this man has has had 99 games played and you know he didn't start all those games they they defense they did they did him as a defensive substitution a few times so so he has only 99 games played he's got 49 ribbies and and only 99 games played and that's not even started okay he's got 75 hits and 13 home runs this guy is absolutely been a godsend for this organization my question to you guys is what the hell was our organization looking at that they were feeding us some line about how his defense was subpar what in the World kind of Statistics analytics department or what are we doing cuz that was the line we were that's what we were told about Austin Wells am I wrong if you didn't if you didn't know Grace if you carried a square right and if you go four times right and if you put the X equation next to his on base percentage that right there goes to show the metrics about how defense sucks I mean what is going on we are Dro we are fumbling at the one yard line like the New York Giants or something I mean we are out there showing our ass this is so stupid that is what everybody said oh Austin Wells he can hit but oh he's not a good catcher he's not a good catcher so uh we're gonna have to work on that he'll be a backup catcher blah blah what what are you talking about this guy has the best metrics of any rookie on uh F War period he in in in the American League he will win rookie of the year he should have played more games he is batting clean up for the New York Yankees okay say it again and he has been hitting over 300 in that spot in the lineup one of the toughest tallest orders that you can have in all of baseball is to bat behind Aaron freaking judge okay this guy stepped in and absolutely soared not to mention his framing metrics are in the top okay his arm he can throw people out on the base paths he communicates with the pitchers so well they all love him okay this guy has been absolutely incredible this year incredible I just I just want to bring up some chats real quick shout out my guy La Yankee King because I thought the same thing L said why do the Giants have to catch astray we suck enough we are in danger of getting Bill bellich and turning into the white socks l yane king when you're cooking you're cooking my guy you're cooking with some hot crease right now um my guy Richie Rivera Empire State of baseball the best mustache in New York City belongs to Austin Wells absolutely the real mustache PO is my guy Austin Wells shout out to Austin Wells Mikey perzel is in the building Mikey P shout out to you if I butcher like your last name I do apologize Mike shout out to Mikey P ER Garcia in the building my friend Erica says I just need you guys to know one thing I have a massive crush on Austin Wells El Dominico con elot Austin Wells shout out to Austin because he does look good he does look that that that mustache is built to be a New York Yankee shout out to Austin Wells um I put a video of him dancing on my Instagram I shared it with you it got over 100k views and Yankee fans loved it so shout out shout out to the Yankee fans love Austin Wells at the moment who else is in the building Old Sarge is in the building Austin Wells hides a three a third fist in his mustache uh anamarie sexy mustache Mr Wells happy for the kid absolutely you gotta be happy for Austin well she gota be happy for and when when you look at it right people say that the Yankees do not develop majorly Talent let's let's dissect that for a second before we get into the pitching sta because I want to talk about the pitching let's dissect that for a second right when you look at the lineup Aaron judge best player in baseball we drafted him we developed him right that's a given right Anthony vuli he won a go glove last year as a short stop right maybe his offense is is is is not the best but listen he's hitting over he's hitting better than what he did last year so that's another one right there right Jason Dominguez just came up Austin Wells one of the best cleanup hitters in all of Major League Baseball Luis Hill was having an Allstar season this year before he had a few Clunkers as well Clark Schmidt before getting injured was having an Allstar season before getting injured right there those are six players that I mentioned out of our 26-man roster that we developed that came through our system so yes are there some misses yes there's some mits misses right are have there been more misses than hits lately absolutely but you can't deny what has come up out of this system and what is down in the pipeline that's that's all I got to say when when it comes to that what's your thoughts on the conf grace absolutely and Oswaldo Cabrera this Swiss army knife yeah the Swiss army knife of our rotation who I believe will come through big in October now these types of of um intangible you know magical pieces is what makes postseason magic people like Oswaldo Cabrera who can come in and pinch hit or or fit into a defensive substitution or or make big plays come up extend the lineup be a surprise element it's huge in the postseason and Oswaldo Cabrera the league is sleeping on him I I Really they are sleeping on him but we know we know how he can be with Runners and scoring position he could be a run producer he could absolutely be a run producer for our for our team in the postseason he is so controlled in the moment you know he doesn't play every day yet when he gets the call he steps up he comes in he's cool as a cucumber that's the type of mentality that's going to pay off in you know the big lights the prime time and all that stuff I am looking for Oswaldo to have a big postseason this year I'm looking for jazz to have a big postseason this year he's the type of guy too right who thrives off of that extra intensity the lights you know he's got that speed he's got the the the the desire to take risks but usually works out you know uh that's an important part but he does he's got this kind of intangible finesse you know Pizzazz quality um I mean it's so exciting right now our pitching is getting back to full strength um Hamilton closing out the game last night what do you think about that well I'm we're going to get into the pitching right now I just add one thing when it comes to oswal De Cabrera osal Cabrera is the 2024 version of Jose Vince CYO if you guys remember Jose vinyo with the New York Yankees he had an amazing postseason run and he was a solid utility infielder Jose viso in the 2000 postseason in the championship series in the ALCS against the Seattle Mariners Jose vincino he played in um he played in four games he got two hits three runs and he had two RB in those four games that he played and every one of those games that he played the Yankees won and he was a crucial part of the Yankees winning right so that's what I'm saying oswalo Cabrera is the 2024 version of Jose vincino Jose vincino also if you guys remember when the Houston Astros when they first went to the postseason against the Chicago White Socks one of the key pieces was a utility infielder by the name of Jose vincino for their run so when you look at oswalo cabera yes right A-Rod had a phenomenal 2009 postseason run absolutely but Jerry huren Jr he did some good stuff in that postseason there are little players that do intangibles that don't show up in the box score that help your team get a win the postseason right um what's it uh oh my God Enrique what was that what was that infi that the Yankees had that the Yankees used to play him no no no the Yankees used to play him against Pedro Martinez Enrique Wilson Enrique Wilson another guy who came through the Yankees system was a utility infielder but was a key piece in the Yankees making postseason runs right there you go Mikey P Enrique Wilson absolutely what about Luis Soho another one during the 90s that he was phenomenal he was just a utility infielder that help us when we needed to get help absolutely old SARS so yes you do have your star players that help carry a team for 162 games helping you make it into your postseason but little players key contributors like Luis soos like a Steve Pierce with the Boston Red Sox in 2018 absolutely Richie Rivera those are players that can take you over the hump and those are players that that they get for forgotten when we have these convers conversations about championships oh yeah I mean bench depth and and just your depth in general is where you know you win in the margins and in the postseason you're not going to have the rñ absolutely yeah you're not GNA have a 10 to four win you know what I mean most likely you're going to win these games in the margins CU all the teams are good it's just who's going to edge you out you know a little bit here a little bit there that's when defense is so important and errors are going to kill me errors lead to runs y'all is this am I am I am I losing my senses is this freaking rocket no you're not losing your senses and if you guys didn't know that was that was that was Grace throwing some Easter eggs and shots at glabel Torres but looking at the Yankees pitching let's look at the Yankees pitching from yesterday and Carlos rodone six Innings four runs three of them were earned I I really want to charge rhon with just two runs those two home runs um his defense betrayed him that first inning Jazz Chism should have been a better throw Anthony Rizzo would have got that out um when it comes to glabber Torres I blame both Gabba Torres and Juan stto if an infielder is coming out on that play right now to me the right fielder has to take charge of that situation and call gabat Torres off Juan sto has to call gabber Torres off and get that ball but on the flip side Gabba Torres if your dumbass is gonna try to make a play on that ball you better make a get some glove on it at something get some leather on it at just a little bit just something right you you do great stuff right it's like we we go we go three steps forward and then we take five steps back GL mat Tores so just focus just focus on making the plays that are in front of you but again I look at that play as a 50-50 I I I think Juan soda should have took charge in that play being the right fielder coming in on that play instead of the infielder going out on that play but rodone six hits four runs three of them earned n strikeout two home runs no I will I will I definitely will um jakay cousins um shout out to cousins right that slider it's filthy it's disgusting he pitched the inning two strikeouts as well Luke Weaver give it up to uh to my guy Luke one inning one hit one walk two strikeouts and then Ian Hamilton Ian Hamilton looking like a mobster from the 1920s closed out the game so yeah go ahead Grace so accurate so Niche and so accurate he looked like he was an extra on ball walk empire bro like I'm telling you totally I love it I love him I I love Ian Hamilton I absolutely love his look and his his just like stones and just his whole thing I love it and he was a closer in college and I always love to you know remember that and and just I I thought he was a candidate for closer last year of course we all know how this year went for him and he was struggling with his injury and everything injuries and stuff right um but i' I like him a lot um but anyway about about glaver and I'm not going to go crazy okay I'm just going to say yes so it should have been Soto's ball Soto should have called glaber off and he should have come up however gabber has played with stto all year he knows how stto is in right field okay I'm not I am not saying anything mean or bad about Juan SoDo okay because obviously his contribution to the team has been well documented okay but glaver knows how SoDo is okay SoDo stopped coming up on that ball well before and glaber over under ran it he went under it and passed it the ball fell freaking behind him okay so once he was under and behind the ball he should have done known that it's my play to make okay then he should have made the play like it was 20 games left in the season because it is I need you to have a little bit more give a damn is what we say in Texas I need you to have a little bit more give a damn because we only have 20 games left in the season and that play has got to be made period rhon went on to throw so many more pitches than he should have thrown in that first inning because of that play So that was the first inning right yeah okay okay so to me yes stto is is implicated okay definitely not not saying oh that's glaber's ball this is all gl's fault no however glaver you're the veteran on the Yankees you've been playing with stto all year and I need you to step up and make a play okay so that's all I'm going to say about that and thank you for your hitting okay yes because GL gabo Torres in his last 30 Games is hitting 298 he's right at the 300 mark he has been a Difference Maker at the top of our lineup as the lead off hitter because this team does not have a lead off hitter we came into the season without a leadoff hitter right I guess they thought DJ lameu would be the leadoff hit look how that has worked out but Erica just says yes because glaber all season has called off everyone on a similar popup but he needs to stop doing that because he has whiffed on that catch multiple times this season absolutely Erica I got a few more chats that I want to bring up before we continue shout out to my guy Austin Cruz in the building if you guys aren't aware make sure you guys go and follow Austin Cruz and his pops keev over at the BX Sports Jedi they do great work calling Yankee games calling Nick Games Austin has a great show um talking about the MMA so please make sure you guys go and support them their family over here right so as we do for family we support family but Austin says Austin says about Austin Wells Austin Wells reminds me of Thurman Muson based on what I've seen of M mson I know I can't be the only one who sees that or feel that way no absolutely not we've had different older Yankee fans with the same conversation share the same um Rich Rivera says cower is still up but Wells he has a plus 180 odds talking about Rookie of the Year listen when it comes to Rookie of the Year and like Jonathan says won 34 likes we got over 90 people in the building if you guys can smack that like button let's run the likes up let's get it up to 50 but when it comes to rookie of the year if Austin Wells wins Rookie of the Year copy I'm it's it's a icing on the cake copy ultimately I want Austin Wells focused on the 18 games that are left in this season and focus on the postseason if you win Rookie of the Year my guy I'm happy for you right I'm buying you the first uh balloon package from uh 1-800 Flowers I'm gon do that for you my guy but I need him to focus on the rest of the games the 18 games that we have on this season I think that's fair to say what you guys think looking at a Wells you already know in is it's in his pedigree that that's the only thing he's going to focus on um if you would ask ask him right now about the Rookie of the Year he probably tell you I'm not even paying attention to it am I in the running am I first am I second I have no idea because the only thing I'm focusing on are my pitchers is the staff is my defense because I mean we talked about it a little bit earlier Austin Wells knock was his defense and listen rly so but the guy was endlessly working he worked his ass off and has become a great catcher I mean let's call it what it is he's he's the top three catcher in the league and let it be known there's a guy in Baltimore who everybody says is the first he's the best catcher in the league but I'm sorry to say Austin Wells has surpassed him so far this year okay um and he's really taking a step back um and of course we're talking about you know the catcher over in uh in Baltimore I want to say his name but uh you know rightly so Austin Wells does deserve a rookie of the year um you know cower uh Austin wells's numbers have kind of pretty much almost surpassed them and the only thing the only difference between them is that the have bats I know cow had over 300 also Wells is at 250 something so at the end of the day also Wells probably does deserve it uh the Yankees will get their draft pick but listen we all know W is not focusing on any of that the way he plays the game uh he plays it the right way the way he commands that staff they all Rave about him and listen the one knock on him you know was his arm in Chicago the kid gunged out two burners you had uh arm Patrick Crow Armstrong who had never been caught stealing had caught him first and then you had the other guy Herer who is uh top three top four in the league and in in run base stealing as well so also Wells has has surpassed his own expectations surpassed the Yankees expectations and they're probably kicking themselves in the ass a little bit because he should have been rightfully so the starter not platooning with trino listen not taking anything away from Trevino what he did for the staff What He commands from the staff was great but it was clear to see Austin wells should have been the number one catcher on this squad and never ever have been a platoon from the very start and at this point there wouldn't even be a question about who the rookie of the year was if they would have put him at where he where he was supposed to be at from the very beginning of the Season uh I got some stats real quick right because Damien he doesn't like to get messy well guess what I'm a petty Betty right I like to be py I like to get messy right so talking about the catcher in Baltimore Mr adley rushman check out adley rushman has played in 132 games he has 572 official plate appearances 510 at bats in that time he has 18 home runs he has 72 RB and he has a 255 batting average with a 323 on base percentage and a 723 Ops Austin Wells has played 31 games less than adley rushman he is literally at 100 on the season he has 358 official plate appearances 306 at bats in that time Austin Wells has 13 home runs 49 RB and he has a 255 252 batting average with a 780 Ops Austin well has a higher Ops than adley rushman at this moment Austin Wells batting average is just three points below adley rushman Austin Wells has five home runs less than adley rushman and he's doing all of this while playing 31 games less than Ali rushman let's just do the math when it comes to play appearances right so you say they average about four plate appearances a game so if you take 31 games times that by four that's an extra 124 official plate appearance people going to tell me that Austin Wells can't get three more home runs can't get a few more RB to be neck and neck with with adley rushman and he's doing all this while not being a top 10 Prospect or a top five Prospect in Major League Baseball put respect on Senor beol Austin wells's name facts I mean where does cower bat in their order I mean Wells is clean up that'll be like fifth sixth something that okay and also isn't he an outfielder he's out catcher okay he has the most demanding position on the field period thank you Damen that's exactly where I was going I mean catcher to multiple pitchers to batting cleanup at the same time I mean he is and with less games played I mean yeah Colton cower played 137 games 37 games more than Austin Wells yeah yeah so anyway I mean listen it's a more no offense to outfielders okay but it is a little bit more of a demanding position like like like what Damen said you know and like Erica said Colton is in the bottom of the lineup he's not the bot lineup please okay take several seats okay we're talking about batting behind Aaron judge okay you know what I'm saying like the the sample size is smaller because he as we all know he was platooned with trino earlier in the year but he is the better player period and and I hope that they see that and vote correctly because if it's about who's the best rookie to come out of this season who's the best player to come out of this season in the American League the answer is Austin Wells an allaround player defense offense everything the entire body work exactly when you when you look at it right I'm laic shout out to my guy Patrick CL because when you look at it right the catch in Boston I mean catch in Boston um the play in B he does have more he has better numbers than both than ad than both uh Austin Wells and cower so the the the conversation for Rookie of the Year it's it's going to be I think Willer plays what first base yeah I think he yeah he plays first base but he played 28 games last year and he had uh 85 plate appearances so 60 plate appearances is the number that that uh either you could be in contention for rookie of the year or I think his rookie season was considered last year because he got more than 60 play appearances just like Jason Dominguez got more than 60 plate appearances last year he would have never been able to be in the conversation for rookie of the year because you know it just doesn't add up so yeah when when you look at it listen I'm just focused on the next 18 games right if he could win rookie at the year he wins rookie of the year I just want him to focus on the next 18 games and I want want us to get ready for the postseason and talking about the postseason it's 1158 we got a couple more minutes before we close because I got to get ready to head to Yankee Stadium sir when you talking about the postseason right this is how the Yankees need to set up their starting rotation and their Bullpen hear me out you got extra days in between for rest Garo is a given he's day one Carlos rodone is game two so in those games in game one and game two you maximize and you get Max effort out of your Top Guns coming out of your bullpen that's Ian Hamilton that's Luke Weaver that's cousin those are the main guys that need to come out of the bullpen and be used in game one and game two going into game three you got rest day you caress your Bullpen but in game three you go with either Luis Hill or Clark Smith to start that game right you let either one of them pitch five innings seeing how they go and what do you do you py back and you bring in Nester Cortez to finish out the last four Innings of that game you give your Bullpen a day off so you go into game four and you have Marcus strowman on the mound or if you have to bring gar Cole off of uh um short rest because it's an elimination game you have your Bullpen ready to go for game four all your arms and all your bullets are fresh so you use Cole in game one roll down in game two maximize your effort get Max effort out of your bullpen in those game in one game one and game two then you pivot into game three hopefully knock on wood Luis Hill can give you five strong Innings and then Nas Cor can give you four solid Innings how about this how about this to make it a little even funkier how about this in game three you start with Luis Hill for three Innings depending on how he goes and then you bring in Clark Schmidt for three Innings and then you bring in Nessa Cortez to close that out because you really just need four starters everybody else is coming out of the bullpen to help the team absolutely list go ahead go ahead G sorry I was going to say why wouldn't you start whoever you don't start in game three in game four so like if he Marcus strowman yeah that's that's that's Marcus strowman I'm sorry no um either he you said either heel or Schmidt and then Cortez piggybacks so either so if heel start starts and then Corte I know you said the three three three later but you could do heel then Cortez and then have Schmid pitch game four or you can do Schmid then Cortez and have heel pitch game four I I start strowman in game four because strowman is not used to coming out of the bullpen Clark Smith is used to coming out of the bullpen so if you want to do the same thing like you did game three you start Marcus strowman and then you have Clark smid coming out the bullpen if it's an elimination game if we need to win that game then you have Garett Cole come back on short rest I'm yeah I'm only gonna start Schmidt only for the fact of his playoff experience he doesn't have any experience so far in the playoffs that's the only reason I'm going to start Schmidt and then I will picky back Schmidt with with Nester I think that's the recipe for Success um that blueprint showed itself this past weekend and I'm all I'm all boor with it you know I understand ness's frustrations rightfully so but listen what he provided out that pen and basically shut the entire game out save the bullpen that's GNA help wonders in the playoffs because you're always gonna have a fresh Bullpen because of that situation yes no 100% I feel bad for Nester you know to a certain degree and I know he's headed into his free agency and he wants to get paid as a starter as well and understandably so um but you know it's not about you unfortunately you know it's about the team and it's about getting those wins and we have now put ourselves into a position like Damen said where the bullpen is so exhausted and tired and they have been picking up people all year and and they are they they were dropping like flies at one point we're now we are re you know um re uped a little bit but Nester Nester pop we need you you're so good that's why we need you to do this for us you're going to be a absolute weapon for us if you if you can and he will and he has put his ego aside he did and he will and um and do this for the team it's going to be so huge yeah no it it definitely will it definitely will be I I'm super excited now to talk Yankee baseball because the Yankees they they they're winning now right we're in first place Everything Is Right Jason Dominguez is up at the big league level but I want to say thank you to grace and thank you to
